Shopping for product in the store is great and selection is ok. However, the service counter is under staffed and painfully slow, add the fact that returning anything in the lumber yard is also time consuming. Perhaps Kent needs to shadow Home Hardware when it comes to customer service. Hint hint... They allow debit or credit card purchases at service counter for faster service (time is money for customers). Also, redo the parking lot, it's a mess!!!!!

Well they really don’t listen to well, especially the cabinet woman I think her name is Linda she was quite rude! She got my order all wrong they refused to fix it! I told her and the contractors that I wanted a dishwasher opening in the cabinets that’s all! She still refuse To do it! Looking to milk lot of money I think she knew we got a grant to fix our home and thought we didn’t deserve it! Because she asked us how does it work? why should she care it was paid off!! She treated us like crap!! We are still paying for it!! Not kewl made us wait long time for the cabinets, oh and forgot a whole section! hard to live with no kitchen when I have a special needs kid who needs attention and kitchen all the time!!

Management needs to take a look at the FedEx pickup process. Their electronic signing pad didn't work and the PC the system is being run through is a bit inadequate and outdated if the loading times were anything to go by. The counter clerk was lovely and apologetic. Feb 27th ~1PM.

Terrible delivery and service. Where do I even begin!. They kept charging my dads house and credit card. It took months for them to sort out after I had to keep calling them over and over and over to sort it out. Then on several occasions we reordered and they never came to deliver!! Then tell us next delivery day and they never show up and they do it serval times in a row. I’m fed up! I can’t believe they’re still in business to be quite honest.

Everytime I go in this store I'm confronted with non-existant service and a staff that doesn't go the least bit out of their way to actually help. Bought LED recessed lights that were listed in the flyer and do you think that they'd have a sign anywhere near the stack of lights that I guessed were the ones? Of course not. This wouldn't be the Cape Breton way. On this island, you're on your own. Took the lights through the checkout, paid a different price than that advertised (even though the internal number matched the item in the flyer). Just wanted to get out of there.

I would like to give a higher rating because every time I go into the store the staff are always really friendly and helpful; especially the front end cashiers, they're always very nice. My biggest problem is that you can NEVER get through to the department you need when you call in to ask a question; it's extremely frustrating since I live a good distance from the store and can't just run in to ask about a price or some information on a product.

The local staff is awesome its the accounting and head office people that are the issue. The name transition has not dropped the in-person service level a bit. They give great advice, and have become good friends. I cannot speak to calling in, nor ordering issues. If you’ve got to go to kent, go to the East side store. I have had numerous poor experiences with west side kent. Overcharging me, getting lumber orders messed up, just generally wasting my time. Todays experience takes the cake though. All I have to say is the staff as a whole at this kent location seem to be incompetent and unfamiliar with their own companies policies and how the construction industry works. If youre going to kent in SJ go to the east side location. At least they seem to actually know what they are doing at the store and dont waste my time.

Paid for $500.00 in materials and arranged to have them delivered 2 days later. They specified a delivery time frame(between 12-4) and stated that they would call me prior to delivery. By 15:00 on the expected delivery day I had not received a phone call, nor my product. I had to phone the store for almost 2 hours before I was finally able to speak to a manager, who informed me that my order would not be delivered today. He then proceeded to give 3 different stories as to why the delivery would not/did not happen. When I expressed my frustration and explained that I needed it delivered today he told me that it was not his department and that he only took the phone call. He later called me back and stated that someone would deliver the order at 18:30. He also stated that he would refund the cost for delivery. While I appreciated that the cost would be absorbed, and that the order would be delivered later this evening, it does not excuse the fact that my entire day was wasted, and that I received poor customer service. I would also like to mention that the customer service I received at the project desk was excellent, and they were very helpful. The two employees who answered the phone at the customer service desk were kind and polite. Unfortunately I can not say that the manager I spoke to was polite or understanding. He frequently interrupted me and was not apologetic or sympathetic. I hope that anyone else has a better experience. I will take my experiences here into consideration the next time I am shopping for building supplies.

Great employee knowledge. Reasonable prices on most items vs larger chain competitors. More geared for contractors but if you go in with an idea what your looking for the staff can assist you the rest of the way. Not a five star rating because lack of inventory on website. A fact that is addressed directly on the website as a way to keep costs down to the common customer. While this is somewhat inconvenient it is commendable that the company is up front to their customers about it.

Hard to find anyone to assist at Kent in Sydney these days. Only person who came to the project desk had no credentials to log into the computers..... sent me to cash at front of store and the clerk knew nothing about vinyl siding and accessories... frustrating!!
