My husband & I had searched for a reliable, skilled and trustworthy handyman for about 5 years. We interviewed many and were not comfortable with the people we met for various reasons. Our list of things needing to be done was growing. We were referred to Norm. He came to view what needed to be done and the next day we received a detailed quote and timeline for the work to be done. He itemized supplies he would provide and those we needed to supply. I loved that he was so detailed, it made it much easier for us to understand the scope of work to be done and we both felt his price was very reasonable. We hired him right away and the following day he was there to start the work. My husband & I found him to be professional, detail oriented and organized. We could easily tell by the cleanliness and organization in his tool trailer that he was very tidy, and organized and had invested in the proper tools to accomplish any job. I feel you can tell a lot about a handyman if you observe things like this. Norm's attitude toward the work shows that he is not only skilled but that he LOVES the work and takes pride in doing the job well. His attention to detail is above average and we are so pleased with the work he has done in our condo. And he followed up with us to ensure that both my husband and myself were happy with the work. Actually his level of quality, competence and trustworthiness have inspired my husband to look at doing other improvements that we are confident will add value and comfort to our home. Overcharged us on the work we had to get done and we had to find another handyman to complete his work. Did not mention he was charging us for driving time to and from his house which is 30 minutes away before starting his work. Also failed to mention it would cost $20 to throw away some floor padding when taking it away. The dump only charges $5 for disposal. Charged us $75 per hour for simply taking out flooring and putting it back in for a small basement room and said he would take 20 hours to do it. Initially quoted us $35 per hour over the phone, but changed it after a few hours of work to $75 and charged us for it. Contacted various other handymen and companies including professionally insured companies who all charge lower than him. Complete rip off, very unprofessional, and not recommended at all.

I highly recommend Norm for any project in or around your home ! From small repairs to larger projects, Norm's skills and passion shine through each project he completes. Did an amazing job on a simple gate for my parents and recommended him to friends to reno a bathroom - both couldn't be more pleased with the finished projects. We had a really tricky situation getting a new dishwasher in where the floor and cupboards had been built up around the old one. Norm got the old one out and the new one in with the cupboards and floor still intact. He also installed an over-the-range microwave where I was sure the cupboard would have to be redone - and he saved every bit of the cupboard! Impressive to say the least. Just immaculate work. I hired Norm to do many projects around my new home; replace doors, trim, painting, removal of cabinets and repair of walls. He also lowered vents from the middle of the walls. I could go on listing more projects, but the important things to note are that he arrived when he said he would, was professional and competent, he stayed on budget to the reasonable quote he provided up front, and left my home immaculate. Whatever the work you need done, I would highly recommend you contact Norm first. You will not be disappointed! He and his work are GREAT!
