The most useless hardware store and lumber yard, never in stock empty shelves half the time. The Commercial salesman is rude and obnoxiouds. If there was a blue print for failure this store is it.

Having done construction and handyman work over various parts of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, I have NOT had good experiences with Home Hardwares...BUT Adam, at the Contractor's Desk here on Pictou Road is awesome. In fact, he is the main reason that I have switched from other hardware stores to shop almost exclusively at this Home Hardware. The ladies at the cash are also great at what they do. One thing that I do appreciate, that has happened almost every time I have been in this store, is I am greeted by one of the floor staff. I don't usually need my help but it causes me to feel like they are ready to help if I did need them. The warehouse customer service is SUPER. Very accomodating and pleasant.

Love home hardware. The staff is super personable, and it's super close to home. Honestly, they don't have the selection that Canadian Tire has, however, the products they offer are usually a better quality for the price. I don't mind paying a bit more for something that will last longer. They generally offer many Canadian made things, which I like too. Did I mention the staff? If they can't help find what you're looking for, or at least have some knowledge about it, youre out of luck.

Over the years this store has lost out on so much money from us. We bought a house that was built in the 1950's and have been renovating it top to bottom. Years ago we ordered a light fixture. It wasn't in stock so it was ordered in. Three weeks later we checked, they said it would be in the following week. Called in two weeks later and they couldn't find where the order had ever been placed. Order was apparently placed then. We stopped calling and five years later we have never ever received our light. Called in for a quote on roofing. Call with price never returned. Called in for a quote on siding. Call with price never returned. Called in for pricing on multiple windows (14 in total). Call with price never returned. Went in for pricing for a deck. All of our information was taken at the project desk and we were told we would get a call the following Monday. Never ever received a call back with the quote. This store had a range hood on sale. Apparently all items in stock were installed at this store and they sent us to willow street. Well they called over the wrong item and didn't have any in stock for us to purchase. Thank goodness Kent will price match. We don't even bother coming to this store for materials any more. I hope management reads this and is able to know what is going on with their store. Timbr-Mart and Kent are the places to go in Truro.

I think it's pretty bad when you buy an item and return it two weeks later without a receipt that they can't find your product and the store number on the item doesn't exist. I was told that there is nothing they can do that I am stuck with it. The reason I returned the item is that I had one and didn't know it. I went to the Willow St store first as that is where I bought it and they sent me to Pictou Rd. I guess from now on I will be more careful with my receipts.

Would never do business here again ,NO customer service what so ever, no returned calls and the famous "not my fault" even when they do all the ordering. Everything relating to the roof of new building was wrong costing ME a additional $400.00 from rafters to short to metal for roof to long and to much of it. Icing on the cake is they would take none of it back, saying they could not return it, so there the customer pays for their mistakes. The back counter ordered it all and my only mistake was going there to do business! Timber mart down the road is the place to go.

The staff here are incredible i was in the store for maybe 3 minutes looking for an air fryer they had on sale. An employee saw me reading the isle info and immediately came to my aid.
