I drive from Toronto every year because Reid's is the only place in Ontario with Doug Reid. (Also, the traffic in Carleton place is easier to drive in.) That blue-eyed wizard of the earth is extremely knowledgeable and honest. With Doug's guidance I stock up on my annual needs and have never been disappointed. He is patient and solution focused in recommending plants that can survive my idiosyncratic demands of them. No small feat given I transport them on a motorcycle. I am reassured that when Doug says these plants will survive a hurricane, heis not kidding. I have tested them at 230 kmh on the bike with barely a tear. The staff have even assisted me with loading the bike so that I can carry taller plants on my lap and strap them down. Safety first. I can usually see.through the foliage when I get up to speed. Big thank you to Reid's Gardens. You are my perennial favorites.

Great selection of common and uncommon perennials, annuals, shrubbery, and veggies. Most of the annuals they had I found nowhere else. Staff were friendly and answered questions. Only one cash, though, so checkout will take time.

My husband and I were in Reid’s yesterday and waited in line for our turn to go into the store. The one shopper limit imposed by the province was in place at the garden center, when it was our turn we went into the store. My husband paid for the trailer load of gravel. My husband asked the woman how things were going with restrictions in place, and the woman told him good, my husband told me he was going back out. I was looking for a gift for Mother’s Day and I told the woman this. I found a rusty metal horse up on the wall that was priced at 75.00 I wanted to buy. At this point I was in the store about 6 minutes. Before I could tell this to the clerk she told me there were 2 people waiting to come into the store. I told her, I wasn’t quite sure what to say, I felt so unimportant as a customer and left the store. The man waiting next in line bought a large bag of peat moss. She hustled me out of the store to have the guy spend maybe 20 bucks. I won’t shop there again. I’ll drive into Stittsville.

I give this them 5 stars as Chris is fantastic to deal with, one of the most informed people in the landscape construction industry. He is a wealth of knowledge on permacon and bolduc landscape products as well I'm sure on Many more but that is what I usually deal with him about! Ask for Chris, you won't be disappointed!

Bought a load of topsoil for my lawn. Neighbor also ordered about the same time. Within 2 weeks of using the soil, wherever we put the soil, we got crabgrass. Had to dig up lawn wherever we used the soil we bought from Reids. Had to reseed, and redress with new soil. Neighbor had to do the same thing. We were never told that this may happen. Luckily we did not use the soil in our garden, as my poor neighbour did. We both sent emails..no answer. Have bought plants from Reids in the past, and have been pleased. Will never order soil from Reids again.

Excellent garden center, friendly and knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Trees are a lot more expensive here than most nurseries (only reason for 4 stars instead of 5). Everything else is comparable in prices.

We spend thousands there each spring. Staff are knowledgeable and plants and trees are fantastic. Great place to get ideas and to shop, but it’s very easy for us to get carried away!

Unique plants you can't find anywhere! Go here every spring to find new additions to my garden, plants are healthy and hardy and return in my garden every year. Owners are often on hand for consultation and are always helpful and friendly.
