We purchased a new hottub through another retailer and had these guys do the installation. Awesome service, they were quick to come out to see what needed to be done and had a very reasonable quote back the same day. They were able to schedule me in at short notice as our hottub was delivered earlier than expected. Steve was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Highly recommended

Unfortunately what began as an amazing experience, has turned sour.We called them to move a hot tub for us in Kingston, which we had purchased used. When the guys showed up to move it, they were very honest and told us that the hot tub was in poor condition and wouldn't move it. Scott found us another hot tub which is in great condition; the team moved it to Kingston and installed within days. We absolutely love it. The new cover hasn't arrived at time of installation, so they provided an old cover temporarily. We never received the new cover, and they will not return our calls. Update - Was promised the cover would be sorted out. Still no cover and now hot tub is frozen and probably ruined!

Called on a Monday to make an appointment and was provided one for Wednesday. Wednesday came with nobody coming by...when I called back she said it was for next Wednesday. Why would I book a week away when the tub has no heat. So we scheduled for the Thursday....then they called and left a message stating that was no good and it would be Friday....but never said when....so I called back to confirm and the person had to call Scott to confirm and would call back immediately....which never happened...so I called 3 times on Friday and left messages the last one was to cancel. Not sure how you run a business like that. Honestly the worse service I have received in many years from any business.

Broken spa, missing parts, and unfulfilled promises: UPDATE (Nov 11): Despite a response to my review more than a week ago, the owner has yet to contact me and did not send someone to my place last week as was suggested in his response. I waited the week to see if they would show up, but no call, no email and no show. As I stated in my initial review, I have already addressed the issues myself, so at this point, I would ask the owner to stop stringing me along. We hired HotTubGuys to move a spa for us. We compared move/delivery dates as well as prices and would rate HotTubGuys highly on that. The moving crew was on time and professional. Once the spa was set in place, the crew pointed out a corner panel of the exterior cabinet was missing and said it came off in transport. A diverter lever/handle was also missing. We were told they probably had some pieces around the shop and that the owner (Scott) would get back to us. After several days, I had not heard anything so I reached out. At first, it seemed as if Scott was going to help us out. He asked for pictures of the diverter handle (the one still on the spa). But, he stopped responding to my emails. The first snow fell and I had to dig snow out of the hole where the panel was missing. I didn't want squirrel or worse nesting inside it for the winter--I needed to make the spa whole again, so I purchased a new handle and I a fabricated a temporary panel until I can find one. Turns out panels are very hard to find. All I can locate are full cabinet replacements (very expensive). I asked Scott where I might locate that part (to buy it myself) but he has yet to answer. --disappointed

We bought a used tub and hired these guys to move. Hot tub was functioning when drained and no problems. When delivered, hot tub was filled and now found many leaks. When talking to repair company, they stated this shouldn’t have happened during a move and must have been dropped or roughly moved. Trying to contact them thru phone and email to talk about the move and schedule a repair for the past 2 weeks i get no contact. Hoping this gets your attention so we can talk

Customer service at first is great, however after paying about $1700 for their services, I was shocked to realize how much of a project it is to follow up with them and have issues remedied. The $1700 was for pick up, full inspection (to ensure the tub was working and not leaking), and delivery of the tub. After delivery, the hottub was immediately leaking (and a good amount of leaking too) they sent 3 different people, with 3 different opinions on how to fix it. Months of follow up. Then, after a conversation between my spouse and the owner, it was established that they would not be fixing the hot tub (which they were hired to do in the first place and failed) The reasoning was that they could not ensure that moving the hot tub to our house after the inspection would not damage the tub... which is ridiculous to say the least. No refunds. No apologies, nothing fixed, no responses. Needless to say we will never be using this company ever again, nor would we recommend them to anyone else.

The hot tub guys came highly recommended through the local contractor social media site; I can now totally understand why! From the initial contact to inquire about services to relocate a hot tub from the seller to my rooftop patio, Scott and his team were incredibly helpful, responsive, timely, efficient and wonderful to deal with. Additionally they offer very fair, competitive rates. They also went above and beyond in order to set up a local crane company to lift & position my new hottub on to my soon to be ‘roof top oasis’. Additionally, Scott the owner went above and beyond in terms of service to come to my home to ensure that my existing electrical would permit a hot tub and to see the space and ensure all was well showing confidence in their skill level & professionalism! The level of expertise, customer service and personal care was phenomenal. I highly recommend this local company for any and all of your hottub/spa needs. FIVE STARS!

Overpriced when presented with an alternate hottub pad need. Do your research. Slow replies and at times non-responsive to inquiries. When the current buying frenzy for hot tubs and related services returns to "slow", I am sure they will be more receptive to customer value and care.

I hired them to install my hot tub and a base. Just over 2 years later my hot tub and base is sinking and no longer level. When I called them she said that the don't keep records past 2 years and that there is no warranty on their work. Also that I can hire them to fix their previous job. Stay away. Unprofessional. Zero accountability.

We rented a hot tub from HotTubGuys over the Christmas holidays! What a luxurious idea. The whole process from reserving, set up, and take down was seamless (all done by them!) and it was glorious having it for the week. It was a pleasure renting from them and would do it again in a heartbeat!

It took some time due to the covid backlog of things this year and the fact it was not a standard size, but once it was made it fit perfectly and was delivered right away even on a Sunday. The quality is amazing, as good as the original cover from the factory and they helped set it up. I’d recommend HTG’s

* This review concerns removal of a broken hot tub -- they were amazing * Our hot tub stopped working in the dead of Ottawa winter and the repair estimate was unaffordable for us, so we made the tough decision to get rid of our tub. We were very concerned because the original owner had encased it within a custom deck and removal was complicated with railings, fences and the sunken location in the deck to contend with. We were expecting the worst -- paying hundreds to have someone rip open the deck to cart it out, and possibly waiting all winter to sort it out. After posting the tub for free on Facebook/Kijiji and being flooded with sketchy offers, I decided to contact Hot Tub Guys to see if they were interested in taking it. Long story short -- not only did they come through for us, but they went absolutely above and beyond in every way. Scott contacted me within hours, and arranged to come the very next day to avoid freezing and further damage to the tub. His crew, led by the very capable and professional Mark, was on time and super efficient. They found a minimally invasive way to remove the tub from the deck, removed a bunch of rails and fence, loaded it on a flatbed and put everything back to normal as if they were never there (except for the giant hole in the deck, of course). They cleaned up the electrical inside and out and even took the time to entertain and involve my 4 year-old son who was bored at home during the school closure! I couldn't be more pleased with their service and while we are sad to have lost our tub, they dulled the pain by making the removal process almost pleasurable and it makes me happy to know they will refurbish the tub and give it new life somewhere else. A HUGE thanks to the whole team!

This is the big difference between dealing with a larger company who have much higher prices, where Scott will do it for way less and probably better! He has helped with my pool and hot tub.

I requested a quote online from hottubguys.ca on Sunday afternoon. Melissa from the office got back to me on Monday and Scott (the owner) was able to come out and give me a quote on Wednesday. His price was WAY lower that the other 2 quotes I received, but it was obvious he knew his stuff so I agreed to have the work done. I was stunned when he told me that since my job was fairly small, he could have his guys out the next day. Sure enough, Chris and Steve came out on schedule and hooked me up! They were friendly, courteous and knew all about hot tubs. They did the work and were neat and clean and took away all of the waste. All around an amazing experience. Thanks Hot Tub Guys! TLDR: Highly recommend Hot Tub Guys!

We hired the Hot Tub Guys to install a pad, dig the trench for the wire and to hook up our new Hot Tub. Scott’s initial quote did not match the actual quote, he made promises he did not keep and the workmanship and communicating with this company was terrible. We were to,d the pad would be level with the ground instead they built it up in order to save digging. The wire was 10feet too long and needed to be cut. We were told the trench would be dug at the same time as the pad being put in only to find that it was not. We were then told the trench would be dug the same day as delivery only to find the receptionist had no idea a trench needed Tom emdug even after we discussed this on the phone three times the previous week. When they actually dug the trench, they made a mess of our entire backyard, leaving piles of dirt and rocks all over the place. They did not use a ground sheet and for the dirt they were digging up and have left piles of dirt and rock. They did not fill the trench properly again and we now have to go back and repair the mess they have left. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I am completely dissatisfied with their work.

It's nearly impossible to get through to someone on the phone in their office. MULTIPLE calls before someone finally answered. Seems they're understaffed or would rather triage voicemails than answer live calls. When I was able to speak with them, they gave me Nicole's number to discuss getting a refurbished hot tub. I called Nicole several times and wasn't able to leave a msg because her voicemail is always full. Finally managed to get Nicole on the phone and we talked about my requirements. She said she would get back to me the next day to let me know what they could do. Never heard back from her despite texting and placing follow-up calls. They did me a favour by providing such horrible service to a customer who's willing to spend thousands of $. I'm happy to speak with my wallet and instead buy a brand new hot tub somewhere else if it means I can avoid the headaches of dealing with hottubguys.ca. Just trying to become a customer is a huge undertaking. Reading all the facebook and google reviews should be enough to make anyone want to look somewhere else. EDIT: in response to the owner's comments, I thought I must have been mistaken about the services they offered. I was sure I saw refurbished hot tubs on the website and I mentioned I was looking for a refurbished hot tub to their office when I called. The website states the following: "We sell Pool and Hot Tub chemicals, hot tub and pool parts, refurbished hot tubs." It clearly says WE SELL REFURBISHED HOT TUBS. If that's not the case, then maybe it's time to update your website and/or provide clarity so customers clearly know what to expect. Regardless of whether they sell the refurbished tubs themselves, or pass the customer to another company, it's not stated on the website and wasn't mentioned when I called.

After 5 minutes of talking to him. I bought it. They delivered it within 3 days. I was expecting a much longer wait. The delivery guys were amazingly fast and tidy. I ended up choosing their electrician who was also speedy and a decent price. I’m a happy customer and would highly recommend talking to Greg about what you are looking for. Top notch.

We recently bought a hot tub from Hot Tub Guys on a recommendation from a friend. We purchased the hot tub and also had they new wiring done as well. We were very please with the service from Scott and his team. When our hot tub was delivered (July 31), it did have a defect (Manufacturer). The hot tub was left with us (as we could use it still) and because of COVID and the backlog for tubs, we thought it could be months before it was replaced. Less than a month later, I received the call that they would be bringing my new replacement tub (Aug 25). It was switched out easily and the installation team was very friendly and courteous. I have already recommended Hot Tub Guys to my coworkers and we are very happy to be soaking and relaxing every evening!

Gave me a quote for moving, electrical hookup and pad preparation. Quote was about 50% higher than others. Once I asked for only the pad preparation they never responded, only saying when I did reach Adam that he was out of the office and would call me when he got back. He never did. Would not recommend.

We purchased a used hot tub from Hot Tub Guys in August 2020 and was told by the salesperson there was a one year warranty (parts and labour). Two months ago the LED lighting stopped working. Repair is approximately $100 and was informed by Hot Tub Guys they only warrantied the tub for 90 days and provided us an invoice stating so, but same invoice was only sent to us after they received their full payment and added this clause in afterwards. Numerous emails and phone calls to the owner / company (MacDonald) have gone completely ignored, and we’ve basically been ghosted by this guy. Their after sale and warranty services are downright horrible, so buyer beware is all I can say.

I had a hot tub base and electrical performed by Hottubguys. The electrician did a great job, but I have issues with the base they made for my hot tub. They depressed it into the ground so now if it rains the hot tub is sitting in a giant puddle. I contacted them, they came to look and then nothing. Numerous emails, ignored. Completely unprofessional to be ignored.
