Very disappointing experience. I placed an order over a month ago online and received word today (after hearing nothing for a full month) that it was canceled and tough luck even though other customers had their online orders fulfilled. At this point in the year, the likelihood of me getting the flowers I ordered are nil. This was really disappointing and I will be recommending that others take their business elsewhere.

Their Christmas outdoor arrangements are stunning this year! I would totally recommend! Beautiful outdoor display that you can easily walk and browse. Unique designs (modern and traditional) with very healthy greenery! My front door looks amazing now! Thanks Peter Knipple Nursery! I'll be back!

I bought a tree from them in the spring, and paid for the planting service. The prices are a bit high, but the staff were helpful and the tree installation service was done well. I would buy from them again!

I recently purchased a variegated pothos (marble queen pothos) from the Peter Knipple Nursery. Whomever I spoke with on the phone was pleasant and effective. He chose one that was already starting to trail, as requested, and even sent me pictures of different cache pots.

Excellent selection of plants no doubt about it but prices are VERY high. Be prepared to pay a premium for your plants here. That being said they are MUCH better quality & FAR SUPERIOR to the big box garden centres. Staff is very knowledgeable, helpful & friendly!! Knowledgeable staff and a wide selection of greenery is why my wife and I prefer to shop here. The selection of small Xmas spruce trees are great alternatives to larger trees and work well on balconies in warmer months

Peter Knippel Nursery is working very hard to respect public health guidelines now that they are open to the public. Having 30 clients in their nursery seemed to work. The staff I spoke with were extremely helpful. What does not work very well is the payment. One must enter their very small store to pay. Unfortunately people are cutting through people who are lined up to pay, and not respecting the two meter guidelines for distancing from each other. Please put in an outdoor payment option. It did not feel safe in the store.

The curbside pickup took a bit longer than expected. I placed an order online and it took almost a month for it to be ready. The plants are great quality. Upon pickup they gave me the wrong order but once I pointed it out they quickly fixed the issue and I got everything I ordered. I definitely prefer cash and carry than ordering online.

I'm a serious gardener who grows a good amount of my own food yearly with some flowers on the side. I made and paid in full for a medium size preorder at Knippel in April, anticipating the problems, panic, and delays that COVID would cause. I waited patiently, trusting it would be filled as it was such an early order and not extremely large, but only received about half my order weeks later in May. I only got one of the vegetables I ordered, just one, and the vegetables were the important part to me. The flower part of the order was sad, with incorrectly represented colors on the website, and some low quality plants that I would have never picked on my own. Part of the order was also cultivar incorrect and they thankfully took those plants back, telling me they'd contact me when my other plants came in. This caused some inconveniences as I could not plant certain plants on time. I had and still have holes in my food garden that could have been filled with others if I had known the ones I ordered from Knippel were never coming. Still, I understood the exceptional circumstances we're all living under, trusted Knippel would fill my order eventually or refund me soon, and waited patiently. Near the end of May I still hadn't been contacted and Knippel was opening to public shopping. I became concerned emailed them twice and phoned (no one picked up ever), wondering if my order still coming or if I should expect a refund. No replies even after a week had gone by. At this point it was too late to find or start replacement plants for the ones I needed, and I knew my trust had been misplaced. Most nurseries at this point had been ransacked by the May long weekend passing plus the sudden interest in gardening. Finally just recently I got a faceless email from Knippel saying I'd been refunded and my order was complete (they get one extra star for actually giving my money back without having to repeatedly phone them again). However I still have holes in my food garden. I waited over a month and never even got a basic apology. I'm hurt and extremely disappointed in them for numerous reasons. I'm sad that I won't have certain vegetables this year. Sure, everything is crazy right now, but that doesn't absolve responsibility when money has changed hands. If you can't handle online orders, don't take them. Represent your stock honestly on your website. If you have too many orders and are unsure of stock, stop taking orders. Refund orders faster - once you have a client's money you are responsible. At least acknowledge and communicate with people who have already given you money. They had a great setup for pickups, and could have aced this pandemic problem if they actually had someone who could handle the logistics. I ordered from three other nurseries this year that wouldn't even take my money until they could guarantee the plants, and that was much more reasonable. If an order was missing items I was refunded immediately and not left in limbo with no contact for a whole month! Just plain rude. And finally, I certainly hope Knippel wasn't letting the public in to shop and clean them out of stock while there was preorders still pending. Either way I'm not going to forget this when the gardening fad ends in a year or two and I'm still spending $100s a year at more reliable nurseries.

I have listened to commercials for years about Knipple Nursery, and finally made time to travel and check it out. OMG. I so wish that I would have come years ago. At first I thought it pricey, however, the more I explored the more I saw that the plants, flowers, trees, shrubs, are not wee little plants. They are very well nurtured and developed. While other places may charge 30℅ less, the plant you'll get there is 75℅ less than here at Knipple. Staff are out inspecting, pruning, watering and helping customers, nonstop. People that work here KNOW their stuff. So helpful and patient, beautifully organized and everything you need. I think Mrs. Knipple served me!!! I have never seen such healthy and happy plants in a nursery before, not to mention the large variety. Excellent instructions provided for each plant I purchased. They asked things like where are you planning to plant this? Are there windows close by? Are you able to handle low, medium or high maintenance varieties. Excellent strong carts, level ground. For easy maneuvering. Credit cards, debit and cash accepted. I will never shop at Costco, Home Depot, Walmart, Canadian Tire, Loblaws or any of those types of stores again for my plants. ALL PLANTS ARE GUARANTEED and they record what you purchased, so you don't have to keep the tags. Wow factor! NOTE - returning a plant that did not do well was a very unpleasant experience. Made me feel very inferior. That was not necessary. Reduced to a 3 star. #localguide

Wonderful selection of plants. Having just bought a house with a totally empty lot, we were looking to get a few fruit trees. George was really helpful and spent a lot of time helping us select the trees. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we selected trees that would thrive in our super sunny/windy lot. He gave us instructions on how to plant each of them. They even took back a couple of trees that we didn't have space for. Will definitely recommend.

Large selection of perennials and shrubs for the avid gardener. Staff was helpful whenever approached but let's you alone if your browsing. Plenty of parking. Annuals available as well. Prices seem to have jumped in the last year but if you find something unique for the garden it's worth it.

Although things are very different this year, Knippel’s have adapted remarkably well. The online store was incredibly well laid out and the process was very easy to navigate. We have been for curbside pickup several times and it went flawlessly. Today, we picked up our final order of annuals. It was a very large order and the quality of the plants is exemplary. We are pleased with all the plants and the service of a fine, young man who brought the plants to our car. It was such an easy and painless procedure from beginning to end. Huge kudos to all the staff and especially to the personnel who brought this service together. Great variety of plants and garden supplies. I was looking for a specific plant which was listed as in stock online but when I asked they said they didnt have any :'( . It is a popular and rare plant so it was expected so not a huge deal. They have a good COVID system with barriers, line ups and crowd control. I felt very safe while there. It's important to support local so I prefer small nurseries compared to commercial garden centers, they also offer a more unique variety. It is located a bit out of the way but the drive is worth it. Overall I love this place and would for sure return and support them more.

We have purchased several times from this nursery over the years. Always helpful and knowledgeable staff. Our last 2 visits really impressed us as we had been 'nursery surfing' to price compare as well as choose some new plants. Most of the prices were comparable or lower. The selection of accent pieces was superior ( still lusting after the dragon) as was the selection of ornamental trees.

They usually have what I'm looking for. The staff are very helpful and kind, but don't assume they all have a vast knowledge of flowers, they will look anything up for you though. They may be pricey but I believe you get what you pay for here: healthy, strong, beautiful plants.

I went in for a specific house plant and found only one remaining and it was in relatively rough shape. I asked if there was any way it could be discounted. The woman was very condescending, stating that it was sunburnt and there "is a reason this is considered a house plant". They would be bringing them in soon. I have 30+ house plants, not a beginner. But felt it was unnecessary to speak down to me in such a way, while they themselves couldn't provide the proper care.

I've left 6 voice messages, visited once where an older woman directed me to their website (not even friendly!), and I've left 2 requests on the website.
