This Gardener belongs to the category of Botanical garden.
Although very small but good collection of peonies and alliums. Would look even better with other flowering plants being added to the mix. I occasionally come here on weekends for short walks.
This garden is so nice, everytime I visit there's all kind of beautiful people, flowers, dogs ...really nice place for a nice walk
Had a lovely walk and sunset picnic! Beautiful ????
It is beyond beautiful here. The small details they put into different areas make it wonderous at every turn. My kids loved it along with the two playgrounds there.
Nice small botanical garden with 3 sections of peony garden.
Well kept gardens, nice water features, beautiful stream. Nice for a short walk around or a picnic.
A very beautiful park with a small stream. Lots of photo worthy spots.
Nature is peaceful here
I love to walk my dog at this park. It is beautiful in summer. Good for taking pictures for wedding.
Nice place to walk , take in the gardens and waterfalls and pics
Such a peaceful place . Had so much fun with the waterfall garden.
This place is a perfect to meet your friends and spend time with your family. The ambiance is very appealing with link to Oshawa Creek. You can definitely stroll around the stunning garden and enjoy the mini architechural designs. I enjoy staying here for few hours. My eyes are filled with amazing sceneries.
Great place to go for a walk, and to bring the kids. There's plenty of paths, 2 playgrounds, a stream that has fish if you come at the right time of year. Plenty of parking too
Beautiful and well maintained park along the Oshawa creek.
Very beautiful place. Though it smelled funny because of pesticides.
Absolutely lovely! And very accessible :-) Visited in August and saw all kinds of flowers & shrubs, a couple lovely sculptures and a fun looking kids playground. Took some beautiful engagement photos there :-D
Very pretty.. Popular for Wedding & prom pictures. Pic are from 2021 Peony Festival
I love the gardens at any time. But this was a first for me. Been to the Peony Festival many times but not for the tree peonies. But I have tree peony friends who shared pictures. Wasn't crowded but it was easy to chat to strangers also enjoying the flowers.
Gorgeous peonys in June!!
Such a pretty place. So quiet and calm, colour and colour everywhere. Trees, leaves, water, the shade, flowers- wonderful.
Lovely place, peaceful, clean and tranquil, I really hope it stays that way. Absolutely love it!
Beautiful place to have brought the family for a walk in the afternoon. Very well kept and all other visitors there equally respected the space
This is a beautiful place for a walk, picnic or taking photos. Lots of beautiful flowers and plants including huge Birds of Paradise plants. A nice creek with a pedestrian bridge crossing it. Plenty of areas for sitting and free parking. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of the chaotic downtown Oshawa.
Lovely day and gorgeous colours of peonies.
Very nice place to go for a walk and be right by a lazy river. Also they have a beautiful Peony Garden here with all different kinds of Peonies. Come here at the right time of the spring and it's quite beautiful.
Nice area to walk, see ducks, and take pictures. Beautiful trees & flowers!
Beautiful park ????
Cute little area to walk through, or just sit and have a picnic. Definitely recommend!
Great gardens and beautiful creek. You can see samon spawing if you come in late august-early september. Playground for the kids and pleanty of parking. There is some green space for picnics and outdoor activities. Gradens are very well kept and beautiful. Looking forward to going back soon.
Visited the outstanding peony gardens and strolled through the park.
Beautiful. Amazing varieties of peonies. A must see for flower lovers.
Lovely place very quiet.
This has the potential to be a brides dream for photos or many other occasions. It's quiet , lush, riverside grounds. It has well kept bridges and lighposts that are a photographers delight. There's a beautiful waterfall garden that can be heard anywhere within the park . There is a famous upcoming peony garden that no only looks gorgeous, it can be found scenting the air throughout one side of the park to over the riverside and beyond. Your welcome to contribute and plant bulbs of your own in donation and are a beautiful way to keep loved ones memories alive even after they are gone, like my Nona and I have done ourselves. What a delight in summer when the peony gardens beautiful aromas are coupled with the sound of rain from the waterfall but enjoyed at sunset with blue orange and pink skies. I miss it already.
Used to go there alot as a kid and catch tadpoles. Great place still but would love to be able to go to gazebo, but it's usually packed by big families that give dirty looks when going by
It’s small but it’s a beautiful and most unexpected respite near the Oshawa Mall area. There are peony gardens, a creek that runs the entire length of the park, walkways/bike trails, and 2 woodland-themed playgrounds, waterfalls. There’s also an area where you can get down into the shallow creek. It’s perfect for summer picnics, a walk or a bike ride. Parking is available adjacent to the arena.
Flowers were in full bloom and lovely. Much too small! Would have spent forever there if park were bigger and you could walk around longer.
Beautiful gardens. Big enough space to safely walking around with social distancing in mind.
Lovely park with gardens, paved walking trails, benches, garbage cans and two small playgrounds. There are often ducks in the creek as well.
peaceful place in middle of town, nice plants and good walking trail.
It's a small but beautiful scenics spot, located within communities. Old trees and good arrangements of flowers.
Such a peaceful hidden gem. Sitting by the stream and having a beautiful day with a book and picnic basket is best. Its full of cute spots. Great place to take walks.
Beautiful gardens.
Went in mid June and the flower garden was full of peonies! So beautiful! Nice shallow river that you can wade in; playground for the kids and nice walking paths. Parking lot was full but there's lots of street parking nearby
Beautiful little park! Great place to take the kids or the dog!
The peony garden was absolutely stunning. We went the week after the festival and was not disappointed. They were at peak bloom. There are nice little pathways for a leisurely walk.
Love the gardens at this location so amazing
With Fall ushering in the park is alive with colors, ppl walking dogs, parents playing with kids on kid friendly park.I think this park is the nicest in Oshawa.Good for the mind and body.A true gem.
The gardens here are absolutely stunning. It is such a lovely place to walk around, sit and enjoy the views. Seeing the peony garden is a must when they are in bloom. An amazing Oshawa gem that every local such check out at least once!
There was a peony festival. Very nice and relaxing park. The only down thing is it is quite small
Very pleasant and calm place for a walk and our puppy enjoyed the place too..
Perfect for long walks. Great area for kids and adults. There are gardens with unique and exothic seasonally blooming flowers all summer, walking trails, bike trail, accessible parking. You can spent hours there. Beautiful scenery.
Peaceful spot lots of nice flowers and easy trails
Great place to walk. Lots of space, beautiful flowers and quiet. Lots of people though
It was beautiful to walk around the amazing flowers Just rather sadly it's not kept up and no waiting had been done
Very nice space and lots of running space for my 4 year old. Also a park
Gorgeous place!
Very nice place to walk and refresh. I absolutely love going in the evenings.
Oshawa Botanical Gardens has a world-class offering, featuring a Peony Garden. The Oshawa Creek flows through the gardens, which is enjoyed by picnic folks and many enjoying photo ops. Due to Covid, the gardens have become somewhat neglected. There is also a Day Lily Garden, which will be flowering soon
It's quite pretty but much smaller than it appears in the pictures. Lovely to sit in and enjoy but don't expect to be strolling through a large area of gardens.
Beautiful garden. Great for walks, picnic or just dressing up nicely to take some pictures. Small little stream that does not smell because there is a feet of running water. Did not get to the see the peonies since we went off season. Two small playground structures for kids to enjoy with a picnic shed too.
It was such a nice place. Well maintained and manicured gardens. Great place for a picnic, to relax, photographers... The salmon were swimming upstream in the little River. It was very nice. Only wish there was a washroom at the park.
Amazing place to have a picnic, go for a walk and just enjoy the outdoors. So peaceful and picturesque!!!
This is a lovely place to visit, especially in the early part of July when the Peonies are in full bloom. There are so many different varieties of flowers to enjoy. Most of the Peonies are labelled so you can learn the names and order some for your own garden. There is a rock garden with a fountain. The park has a short, easy to walk trail. There is access to a shallow river with a small picturesque bridge. There is also a nice shaded playground for children. Free parking is available.
Beautiful gardens ! One of the nicer places in Oshawa .
Lovely place to walk and enjoy the scenery. I would consider it a hidden gem in Oshawa. It's not too busy either which is nice.
Beautiful park that makes you forget you're in downtown Oshawa
Beautiful location, many different elements for photos and is just an absolute gorgeous place to walk around in.
The very pretty place to go lots of flowers there's a trail and a bridge and a little river running through it's really nice
Nice quiet place for a walk
It’s a beautiful park located right in the middle of Oshawa. It’s a great place to go out for a jog or to simply bask under the sun.
Great place for a walk with well-maintained gardens and trails right in the heart of Oshawa!
Nice park with a river running through it. Mostly peaceful people, with some homeless and disruptive people passing through. Saw some people fishing with their families, but didn't see much fish that day. Grounds are well kept.
Beautiful, breathtaking, right in the middle of the city. Amazing flowers, clean water and squirrels and ducks roaming around looks very pleasing.
Lovely place for a picnic
Went towards the end of summer so a lot of the plants and flowers were dying but I can definitely see how beautiful it would be towards spring and the beginning of summer when everything is in full bloom. The garden is fairly small to walk around so you can see everything in less than an 45 mins. I'd still recommend visiting!
This park is beautiful, especially during the peony festival in June. But the peonies aren't the only beauty in the park. There are at least a dozen different flowerbeds with all sorts of flora and meandering paths from which to view them. There are may gorgeous places for photos and it is a fairly popular wedding photoshoot spot. There is also a play for kids and kids at heart to use. The park connects with the lake shore trail so you can walk quite a ways if you want to. This park has something for everyone.
Amazing place to hang out with the family. Really beautiful.
It was beautiful with the season ending & autumn starting! Not too busy for a Sunday either! Got some good pics!
It's a Beautiful place for a walk. There are 2 play structures one has little kids in mind and the other is for older kids. Both my kids like pokemon go and there is lots of pokestops and gyms so we can spend hour of fun there.
Beautiful garden! Surprisingly saw salmon run in September.
Grounds are kept beautifully. Lots of parking available. Took my 4 year old son here twice. He loves it here. Very peaceful and he likes looking for frogs and fish by the bridge. My son was able to ride his scooter or even his bike. We visited during Covid-19 (July), people kept their distance and wasn’t crowded.
Though there arent any flowers to see. It was a delightful experience visiting this park. The trees were beautiful, and the park itself was clean and so nice!
Great scenic gardens. Beautiful place for photographers
Nice park for walk) Two kids playground
Love this parkette. The botanical gardens are well cared for and always beautiful. Great place to go for a mellow walk or picnic. They have two little parks with climbing equipment for the kids too. The stream is gorgeous and in the fall has lots of fish spawning. Cool to see!
Went for the peony festival and it was difficult to find parking. The hosta collection was nice but this year the spring has been cool in temperature, so the peonies were not in full bloom yet.
Very nice park to relax by the river, ride the bike on the paths or play on the playgrounds. On the right season the are also beautiful flowers to make this garden even more pleasant. It's a great place for picnicking and enjoy the day with the family and kids.
Great location near the Oshawa Creek to relax and enjoy the scenery. Gardensbare beautiful depending on the plants and timing of the year for blooms. Lovely place to walk or to meet up with friends. Limited parking available at the local arena.
Beautiful this time of year. They also have a eating area bu the water fountain.
It is a lovely place. Very colorful and picturesque. Good spot for outing or family picnic. The only setback is the sewage smell that keeps disturbing if you go near the small water flow in the center of the park. We went there during fall time and it was still beautiful!
Amazing relaxing place with pretty flowers
For a walk and biking it's a nice place. We spent an hour, plenty of flowers. Creek is flowing, saw couple of anglers are fishing. Overall nice place for a quick family visit, available free parking.
Super nice park in the city! I live nearby and I am so happy that I have this great place in walking distance. There is a playground and water is very clear so that kids can play. Good place to rest with family/friends.
My wife and I enjoy coming here for an evening to just walk around and look at the scenery. Nice to bring the kids for a blanket lunch!
Such a beautiful area to walk through and enjoy a bit of nature in the city
Lovely paths for walking and benches for a rest. Great annuals and perennials around the waterfall. Very quiet today.
Didn't know this park existed until we went. It's very beautiful. Next year planning to go earlier to see the peonies open.
Beautiful tulips and a great place for a picnic or just taking photos
Beautiful little garden. Great for a walk during the day. Be careful here after dark though.
A beautiful, peaceful little stroll
Nice and short walk, a good place to take pictures as well with a scenic background!
This is a beautiful park for taking a walk and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. Popular spot for family photos. We were among many who came here for graduation photos. The gardens are beautiful but you have to catch them at the right time before certain flowers wilt away. We missed the peonies by a week or so. In the fall, it is still a pleasant park with a small children's playground down the trail.
Great time at the peony festival on the weekend great for photo opportunities see you next year July 15-16/19
Beautiful place to walk around and/or take pictures. Highly recommend going there at least once.
Peonies garden is a must see. Come early summer ( mid of June).
I went there first time for Peony Festival. Too many people but only few parking space. Moreover, few peony flowers can be seen. Maybe next week is optimal.Generally it is a good, quiet, small but beautiful garden for everyone.
Not as vibrant this year as compared to previous years but the inclusion of a water fountain is a welcome sight. Plenty of shade and several benches make this a good location to sit and eat a light lunch or chat with friends. A small jungle-gym is also located here for kids to play and brings the feeling of a family space.
Beautiful park. Beautifully maintained. Perfect for little kids. Small rocky beach along the creek, lots of room to run, flowers, big trees. There are tadpoles in the fountain in the spring. We live nearby and go often. Unfortunately, people frequently shoot up there at night and leave a mess. My 3yo and I have come across the debris on several occasions in the early mornings.
Nice day for a walk in the Gardens. Watched the Salmon swim upstream in Oshawa Creek.
A very nice place to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens and the birds singing. We were able to visit with friends while observing all the protocols.
Very nice and well maintained gardens. Many seatings available in the park so that visitors can relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding. I am not sure if it would be possible to have a drinking water fountain. When it becomes hot visitors need cold water to drink. Worth visiting... More than once. ????
Used to love this place. Beautiful location great for any age as they have beautiful flowers sculptures and park. However at most recent visit to oshawa we stopped by and it was very unsafe and dirty. Was sad to see the state of it.
This garden is beautiful and it is in the heart of Oshawa. You can walk to Crok & Bean or Nexus (in Urban Markets), buy a nice Latte, and support a local business. Then take a walk in the garden and check out the creek. People in Oshawa are generally nice and welcoming, so do not forget to greet the people you meet in the park or smile, it goes a long way.
Very nice place for a evening walk with family. Very quite park. Not crowded at all. This is a botanical garden maintained by City of Oshawa. Even though it is very small Park, it has beautiful flowers. Nice locations all around for photo shoot. Parking is free as well.
Went recently. Most of the flowers are gone but still a good place to go. Very big park and not too busy
So pretty but no washrooms not even porta pottys is bad..I am asking that washrooms be put there
Beautiful garden with many variety of peonies. You can take a walk from the garden to the waterfront beach but will take you totally 3 hours return to the garden.
Cute spot for a walk! Check back in regularly as different flowers bloom.
We walk our dogs here all the time. It's such a beautiful park. One of my favorites in the Shawa hands down. Well worth the visit In my opinion it's a must it's that nice. All year round
Try a nice relaxing stroll along the paths and enjoy the folege, fountains and flowers. The grounds are well maintained for everyone to enjoy. Pack a picnic lunch and sit along side the creek. This is a great place for little ones to cool off on a summer day, or watch the large salmon as they make their way up stream to spawn.
The park is my favorite place to visit and take in the landscaping and gorgeous flowers.
To start with it's free entry - parking is free too. Located at central Oshawa what more can you want. It's not very big but well maintained and clean. They have some nice flowers growing and it's a really cool spot. Lots of shade and sitting area and peaceful and quiet. They have a small creek flowing through which adds to the beauty. They also have a cycle riding path.
Went in June but most flowers had already bloomed. I think the best time to go would be spring!
First time visiting Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens and it was good. The weather has been very hot and dry over the last few weeks so the grass and flower beds were dry and the flowers in some areas looked dead. It was still a nice walk through the gardens as some flowers looked great. Early in the morning before the sun is hot would be a good time to go. Good place to take a nice walk or just to sit and enjoy a good book/music. People in the area when we went seemed friendly and would say hello and keep a small conversation from a distance. Hopefully we can get some rainy weather so the grass and flowers can get some much needed water.
Very nice clean park/walkway with creek ruining through it. Better to go in late spring/summer.
Beautiful park in the summer. Today it was filled with ducks.
Very beautiful and well maintained gardens...ideal for photo shoots and picnics.. was told we can even see salmon swimming upstream during Fall..so will revisit then..
Great place to walk... beautiful flowers... nice place for painting...
A nice ravine flows through tjw park. Ita vwey shallow and kids can go into the water and enjoy water flowing and observe the wils life in thw water. Walking path for elders as well. Lots of. Space to sit at a distance from each other.
One of my favourite places. Beautiful, clean and not too busy.
