Professional from our first contact to the weed killing and then work started a day or two before scheduled. The crew at Niko’s Gardening were extremely professional and knowledgeable, especially Devon the crew lead. They did a thorough kid from removing the old grass, to tilling the ground and removing 2” of the old dirt and replacing with new triple mix. Niko's Gardening recently replaced my front lawn after I had completed a porch replacement. The entire experience was excellent! They levelled the area and applied a generous amount of high quality soil. The sod, itself is nice and thick and was, to the best of knowledge, excellently laid down. There is one additional point I want to raise and it is around service. I have had a lot of projects this year and Niko was one of only two vendors that fit the category of excellent service. They responded quickly with a quote, set up an installation date, moved up the date and arrived 15 minutes early. The crew were efficient and made sure we were totally satisfied before they left. In addition, there was follow up by the owner the within 12 hours. These days when it is hard to get contractors to do anything or even get back to you, this was a great experience. In March 2021 we booked Niko's Gardening to re-sod our front lawn. Greg was very responsive in providing us a detailed quote and walking us through the process. The work was completed in May and we couldn't be happier with the results! Devon and his team were fantastic in doing the work. They went above and beyond to explain the plan as they progressed through it and they were very precise around the more difficult sod cuts (i.e. around trees and outlining gardens). They made sure we were completely happy with everything and they spent a good deal of time cleaning the surrounding sidewalks/driveway before leaving. Snow removal Review: I have had terrible luck in my area with snow removal contractors that past number of years. You paid upfront and they show up when they feel like it. This is NOT the case with Niko's. They are truly amazing ! First of all, they communicate...you get regular emails to let you know that they are on their way and they show up on time, do a great job, and I am thrilled with the service ! The one time I had to call, they answered the call on the first ring ! I am so thankful that I found Niko's and I will be a customer as long as I live in the area and they can service me. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, cleaned up afterward, and were completely honest about wortkmanship and products. Devon thought we needed extra lime because of cedar trees so that was added after consultation with Greg. The final product is a superb lawn, levelled and rolled. Niko's is the very reason why you want to use professionals for your job. The experience with using Niko's was fantastic from start to finish. The scheduling was easy and straightforward. They are quite busy, so make sure to book far in advance. The price was on the lower end to average (we got over 6 quotes). The weed control spraying was thorough and very well done. They took great care to protect everything in the yard, and the attention to detail was wonderful. They used a natural product which was highly efficient. Our backyard was an overgrown wasteland, so they did a great job in preparing the area. The day of the installation went extremely smoothly. There was excellent communication throughout the day, and they were very nice, patient, helpful, and work quickly and very efficiently. They took as long as needed to ensure every single piece was laid properly, and the grading of the yard was smooth and just right. The focus was definitely on quality, not just an in and out job. The sod was also fresh and in excellent condition, no dried out points. They even helped me a little with an unrelated part of my lawn (not part of the original scope of work) and gave me great tips. They dealt with tricky bits like matching the grade between the sod and artificial turf in our yard perfectly. They completely cleaned after themselves at the end, there wasn't a trace of dirt on the driveway. The follow-up so far has also been great. They've been extremely responsive day and night with any questions or pictures I had. My main problem is with wildlife, so they gave me all the necessary tips on how to address this (even though they could have offered to do it themselves and charged me, they chose not to). Overall, we are extremely happy. They were the only company that properly assessed the difficulty of installing sod in our yard (tall trees, acidic soil, sharp grade, uneven grade, sod mixed with turf) and addressed every single issue we raised (we are a bit picky and OCD about some things) promptly and with great communication. Would highly recommend them to anyone, anyday.

However, Niko's gave better value for the price quoted. The Raccoon netting really made a difference. I know this because I could see attempts by the critters around the perimeter and the net prevented major damage. Niko’s Gardening is fantastic! After we moved into our new home, we needed to replace both the front and backyard lawns. The front was completely non-existent, after the lawn needed to be repeatedly dug up for a tank removal. The backyard was completely covered in weeds. No grass. We had Nikos’s expert team replace the front in the fall (2019) and it looks beautiful!! Compliments all around from the neighbours. In the spring (2020), they were the first call we made when it was time to replace the backyard lawn. One thing we should have done initially was listened to Niko’s when they suggested we have them put down some chicken wire over the new backyard sod, to prevent the raccoons from flipping over pieces of new sod. But when we called Niko’s to tell them the raccoons were doing their thing, Niko’s came back the same day to install the chicken wire. That’s amazing service! And now the backyard looks just as beautiful as the front yard! We’re thrilled! Greg and his staff are knowledgeable, polite, professional, on-time and quick. I cannot say enough about their sod and their service. Both are absolutely first-rate!!

My front lawn was in very rough condition - very little grass growth and a lot of completely dead sections. Called Niko's and they were very quick to come out and review the lawn with me and provide an estimate to remove the old and replace with new sod. They also responded to all my questions. Crew that arrived were very professional and again would answer any questions asked as well provided additional recommendations. It has been a week now since my new front lawn was installed and it is doing very well - I continue to follow the watering and cutting schedule provided and do not see any issues. Great experience. Greg came promptly to do an assessment on re-sodding our backyard. He was honest and up front about the work that needed to be done and the associated cost. We initially declined the taco on netting because our neighbours hadn’t had problems with their sod install a year ago ... big mistake. Within days out sod was being flipped and tossed around the yard by raccoons. Greg arrived the same day we called to install the netting and we haven’t had an issue since.
