Very friendly staff and great overall experience. -1 because they aren't keeping their online store updated or doing curbside since lockdown ended. Some plant lovers like to meander around the store and take their time looking at everything and they just pick whatever looks pretty. Others, like me, are collectors and we know what we want and don't need an in person experience. I drove a significant distance to get there and would have much preferred ordering online, reserving my plants, doing curbside and then be on my way. Instead, I had to wait in line to get in, wait in another line to get into the tropicals section, then wait behind the slowpokes, the people anxiously trying to Google a plant to see what they require while their kids are running wild, and others who were having a family reunion and catching up on old times in an area where a line of people were waiting to get into. Again, great store just please bring back curbside!

My favourite garden centre of all time. Heeman's is a local, family owned business. Lots of merchandise the changes seasonally. An extensive variety of unique plants and flowers. The Beanery Bar serves up a delicious strawberry sundae!

I’m in love with this store- it’s Instagram account gives lessons on how to care for plants and it is life changing. They respond to msgs and have incredible selections and costs. The organization in the greenhouse is phenomenal and the staff are so friend I adore them. I’ll literally go there for life.

Where to start!? We LOVE Heeman's, and their cider. It is a wonderful place to visit, purchase plants, and indulge in local fare. They genuinely love their customers and have exceeded expectations time and again (especially during Covid).

heemans is such a magical place. I never leave without 3 more things than I went in for. they have flowers and flowers and plants and plants as far as you can see. and then more! their staff are all extremely friendly and well informed about plant information, offering their assistance while you browse. there is also a super cool fish pond, veggie stand & of course famous strawberries!! today's plant find was this cute fall plant. I've been there many times and I'm sure I will be there many more!

A personal favourite for various garden supplies. The greenhouse is nicely laid out and you are bound to find exactly what you are looking for (and more)! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and present. Of course, it's always a good time to pick up some fresh strawberries, or indulge in a delicious sundae! For covid-19, they did a great job of marking the garden centre. I also used thier curbside pick up, which was one of the best curbside pick ups I have encountered during this pandemic.

Overall a good experience. Helpful staff, made finding potting soil a walk in the park. Finding the correct checkout line was a bit tricky. Would suggest not going at peak hours to avoid lines. Wide selection of products and lots of cool items to browse.

Heeman's has such an extensive collection of plant life! The friendly staff is large, very helpful and knowledgable. Even for non-gardeners like me who are accompanying their green-thumbed friends, there is so much beauty to delight in! Be sure to go see their massively stocked koi pond when you go, while enjoying one of their seasons treats of a fresh strawberry (& vanilla icecream) shortcake made with Heeman's delectable fresh strawberries. Fresh asparagus is also in season and is a must-have. On the way to the cashier, one may also find a variety of local honey and cider products to purchase. All in all, a great place to visit, and for an artist like me, full of botanical inspiration!

experience was horrible - walked the wrong way and was screamed at by a teen employee. Saw an elderly lady gasping for air - OUTSIDE and being told to pull up her mask. Witnessed another person being escorted to the door after telling staff they felt like they were going to pass out. pretty sad that corporations allow exemptions but when you try supporting local you get treated like a leper. Will not be returning.

Very large selection of anything you can think of. Prices are a bit high though. Try to go before May 2-4 weekend as it gets very busy. Lots of staff to help you, flat carts and boxes available to use. If you’re looking for the one stop shop, this is where to go!

I can't grow a cucumelon from seed to save my life. I need Heeman's. I have been saddened that my mask exempt friend hasn't been able to visit one of her most healing places for 2 seasons now. I just want to say that I would continue to support the Heemans if they eased up on their mask exemption policy. (Subconsciously, I'd probably even support them more because I'd want more beautiful flowers in my garden because the world got more beautiful for a friend.)

Heemans is such a great unique place all through the year! I recently did a Wreath making class here and despite not being artistic at all it turned out wonderful. We love to get our fruit and flowers there in the summer and all our porch decorations through the year.

I LOVED my experience at Heeman's. They have great selection and I love their preserves but unfortunately everything I bought in my last visit had spider mites. We snagged a lime tree, a gardenia bush and a potted hibiscus and all have suffered since day 1. Major lesson learned to thoroughly inspect before buying.

Always flawless. We picked up strawberries, raspberries and garlic at the drive-through. BEAUTIFUL berries! i made an executive decision to grab a sundae. Yes, they have a no sugar added ice cream option as well as lactose-free. It was VERY hot or i wouldn't have gone inside. Things are very nicely organized for COVID safety, though the treat pick-up area was a bit congested. i'll be sticking to drive-through because: Mum but it's lovely to get out again.

It has been our quest during the pandemic to find great gardening centres/nurseries we have found a few favourites and Heeman's is in our top 3. This place has a great selection of annuals, perennials and tropical house plants. They also sell strawberries, blueberries and if you want something delicious with an alcohol kick try their Blueberry apple cider or their Cherry Mead. It is so worth the drive from Kitchener to Heeman's

Favourite garden centre around. Everyone is very lovely and they have a huge selection. Their plants (so reasonably priced!) always stand the test of time although they supposedly have a guarantee if you hold onto your receipt. Only potential complaint would be the ever inching upwards prices on a couple items- berries went up again this year and while their cider is amazing, it’s not exactly cheap.

Absolutely incredible place. HUGE! So many plants, and so VIBRANT. Don't come her expecting a quick trip, you'll have to budget time to wander - kind of like Ikea. Staff are everywhere and helpful. The carts are good, which is important for a garden center. Prices are lower than you'd expect for such a big place. Oh, and do yourself a favor and hit the Berry Beanery while you're there. Their shortcake is to die for, as is everything else

Arriving your told to take a cart even when not need,then hearded through the store zigzag this way and that way which is challenging for someone with mobility issues just to purchase some strawberrys. Waited in line to get some berrys and was told place an order, so waited there, and was using gift cards then I was told to go another cashier at the exit to place my order not very happy about this experience any.

Not only do I love visiting heemans they have the most extraordinary service. I was there with my 3 month old and needed to change her. Their facilities are under construction so the bathrooms we're out of service. Not only did the staff say no worries we can help, Will Heeman let me use his office to change my baby. This was excellent - like going to a theme park in the days of COVID where theme parks are not possible! The line on Victoria day was quite long but moved fast, taking approx 7 minutes, with a port-a-potty placed strategically. Inside, there was a lot of room to maneuver around other people so as to feel safe. Of course, the plant selection is giant and, compared with other greenhouses, equivalent seasonal plants (like petunias, marigolds, etc. seem bushier and further along. The checkout line moved quickly despite the length of it. We were very pleased with our time and the plants are thriving on our back deck now!

Wintertime they offer fun affordable workshops to make a centerpiece of decor item that will last all season. Dog friendly too!

I think the ratting here is not fair and its overrated (5star for the garden and flowers section) But for the fruits you guys sell is very wrong, its a scam! I was there today to pick fruits, But I guess I missed the picking season, so I went and bought 2L of cherries which they dont leave it out for display, they take them from some cooler or fridge, the tiniest, softest cherries in all London, I could easily get more fresh, way cheaper and better cherries anywhere in town. I felt like scammed and tricked. 2- I bought Strawberries, very old and gotten a bit hard, different sizes, many were already turned bad. And again, its not out there for u to chose, u pay and latter someone hand over the fruits to u and its too late. The ratings here are either fake and or these guys need to experience different places. Check 1 star ratings. Someone had similar experience and posted the fruits pictures.

Great garden centre! The quality and the health of the plants are exceptional, and the prices are very reasonable. Plants are disease-free and bug-free. Selection is incredible. I would definitely recommend shopping here instead of Parkway, Canadale, and other year-round local garden centres. The only other garden centre I would recommend is Costco, but they only have a garden centre about a month each year, and their selection is limited.

The flat of strawberries were soggy and maybe 20% were no good. I believe they were in the container from the previous day in the sweltering heat. Very disappointing as we have been getting the Herman's strawberries for over 25 years. Substandard.

Last week was our first visit of the season and we bought 3 quarts to bring up to the cottage. When we got to the cottage and washed the berries, we noticed that the strawberries were extremely tiny. Most of them were only slightly larger than the blueberries that we mixed in together. Whoever picked this batch, picked a whole bunch of tiny strawberries and concealed them with a few larger ones on top. Not only were they tiny, but 2 of the quarts had several rotting berries that were buried inside the quart. Since most of the strawberries were tiny and not picked at its peak, most of them tasted sour. I can understand if one of the quarts was not “perfect”, but when all three had the same issue, it’s disappointing. We would have returned them but we were out of town. My batch definitely missed quality control.

Drive all the way out there because their online store has no in stock availability only to discover they are sold of of strawberries two weeks before they can even go into the ground. Maybe plan ahead and have appropriate supply of your best selling items like strawberries, it's not that hard

I love Heemans..the strawberry sundaes are the best. I go every year for one! Plant selection is amazing. You can see a project i made with their plants and a fun pick to *not eat the strawberries* ( who can resist them!!) And a pic of my husband standing in front of the massive rows of plants. Love this place and it is reasonably priced. The team there knows everything and if they dont they won't hesitate to track someone down who does. They sell just about everything a gardener could ever want.

I love the selection of houseplants they have, a great place with great staff! I unfortunately purchased 4 plants last week and 3/4 had multiple pests, they offered me a full refund or exchange- I have wanted these plants for a long time so I decided I wanted to repot them and try to fight off the pests, they said since they clearly gave me the pests they would cover the cost of my soil mix! Awesome customer service, just make sure to inspect before buying, and swap out your top 2" of soil when you get home!

If I could give less stars I would. Arrived at Heeman's on Sunday with my family and noticed a big difference in pricing from a couple of years ago. Everything was quite a bit more expensive. We decided just to go for Sundae's and strawberries instead. After standing in a lengthy lineup (which is understandable during COVID times) we made our purchase. We stood in waited again for the order keeping our distance from fellow patrons. The strawberries were given to us first. While waiting for the sundaes my young son put a strawberry in his mouth and put the mask back on while chewing. My husband lowered his a second while he wiped his face with a kleenex as it was over 90 degrees and we were all sweating. We were more than 6 feet away from everyone, in fact there were no other patrons nearby and the staff were 8 - 10 feet away at the time. All of a sudden we were screamed out from behind the counter by a staff member for them to put their mask back on! The masks were not off but merely lowered for less than 2 seconds. I understand rules; however, have use some common sense. Plus I am sure there is a nicer way to enforce the rules then screaming at us. Such a scene was made it caused others in the line to look over at us. Not an enjoyable experience at all.

I go here at least 3 times a month from May to September. The best place to get fresh and local produce (not just strawberries!), and their plants and seedlings are high quality and reliable. Very friendly staff.

Way over priced . Dont shop here much any more for that reason ..not what it was .. I drive to Colisantis ..what money l save on plants pays for the gas ..and its much nicer .great food at restaurant ..and lots for kids to do ..exotic animals aswell ..up your game heemans ! Not your prices

My partner loves this place. Winter or summer they are open and it feels like an ikea but for plants. They have a lot of different kinds of plants. We often go there for their soil because its cheap but good and it comes in a huge bag.

My elderly parents came to buy there summer flowers today. They tod me it was very busy but well organized. Being the the first of our nice weather that is to be expected. After they found all the plants they were looking for they joined the long line for the checkout. One of your employees noticed my mother struggling with her cane and brought them through the line quickly. Thank you all so much for looking after them so kindly. My mother commented on how all the plants this year look so very nice and strong. Thanks again for your kindness.

I LOVE Heemans deeply and have been going weekly during the summer but this past weekend, my husband and I had a very unpleasant experience and very disappointed in how an employee treated us as customers. We come to heemans often and have never had an issue with bringing in a water. The day my husband and I decided to visit, it was one of the hottest recorded days for August, and when we politely asked to bring in our iced water at the entrance, we were refused because of "policy". We politely tried to explain to the woman that it is very hot out and is important for us to have a water, she continued to argue against us so we went back to the car and returned our water. I had never felt so degraded, especially because it is extremely easy for people to pass out in the heat, but also because this woman couldn't set aside her "policy" to be a decent human being to my husband and I who were being nothing but kind. I was especially upset and brought to tears, as the next customer she allowed in had a water bottle in hand, and saw multiple familes inside with water bottles, as it is a human RIGHT to drink water. I felt extremely anxious and upset while shopping and the thought of that experince put a damper on a day out that was meant to be fun for my husband and I. I really hope this employee realizes that it isnt okay to refuse certain customers and allow others to have waters, especially not knowing if its crucial for someones health and safety. Sincerely; a very disappointed, loyal Heeman's customer.

THIS. PLACE. ROCKS! Good selection of regular houseplants, getting better with succulents/cacti, and even a few of the rarer alocasia and philodendron cultivars. I was impressed! They control access, have directional arrows, and are all very professional and always watching. Their cider is worth the drive alone. The best time of year to go is always!

Love this local gem. Its overflowing with fall flowers and mums, everything to do with indoor gardening, seasonal decor, and selling berries, strawberry sundaes, hot drinks, and home brewed ciders. Food truck schedule is on their website. Picnic tables to enjoy outside.

Oh my goodness, they had everything you wanted and in every colour. I had never been there before and I was completely dazzled. Great place and prices are pretty good too. Usually i only purchase perennials and look for unusual design and colours to bloom throughout the year. You must visit. My favourite new place to visit. Oodles of perennials and annuals! Great garden center with every flower and plant you can think of. They also sell garden decor, jams and fresh fruit: asparagus, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries. They have a food counter inside and I recommend the sundae. They offer lactose free and sugar free I've cream and are wheelchair accessible. They have free parking, a public washroom and an indoor and outdoor picnic area.

Excellent! Heeman's has done such a great job dealing with Covid restrictions that my visit was still very enjoyable. Line up outside moved fast. Once inside everything is so well laid out and organized. So much variety and stock to choose from. And Heeman's has one of the best Instagram accounts. Hands down best place to buy plants. Love that they are organized so that those with not-so-green thumbs (such as myself) can understand their care needs easily such as tags that say things like "lots of sun" "shade" and stuff like that. The Beanery is great for fresh berries, milkshakes, and amazing sundaes. Staff are helpful and friendly!
