I can't express in words on How much The Gathering Place effected me!! When I had absolutely nothing.....no shelter.....no food.....no clothes.....etc. They helped every way, shape and form to help you!! There is so many amazing, good words I can say about this place but I would be typing this message for a very long time!! So if your in a situation.....I would 110% recommend goin to The Gathering Place!!!!!!!!!

A local resource for those in need with a soup kitchen offering a healthy free breakfast, lunch and dinner also offering a resource office that offers job search, social services and they have a give away rack that offers free food or clothing. They have a crisis shelter to house the homeless in the winter the Warming Place and a community garden in the summer. A great help is the food rescue that saves food from grocery stores that would have been tossed into the trash. The food is sorted and used in the soup kitchen or distributed to other community groups or placed into compost bin and used in their garden. I am proud to be a volunteer with this group.

This was not only my first time being in The Gathering Place, but also my first time volunteering for them. The atmosphere is very welcoming and inviting. The staff, volunteers and owner are all lovely individuals who are very patient and hospitable. I am happy to know that North Bay has this service for individuals who require it. While volunteering, I was able to serve food, clean the tables and be ready for new people to arrive. The food being served looks delicious and nutritious and allows the individual to chose their preferred beverage. The people I met during this experience were pleasant and thankful for the food and services provided. It's wonderful to see people interact with each other, and share their life experiences over a nutritious breakfast.

Glad a place like this exists for the more misfortunate in the city. My only real complaint is in the era of social distancing, they have a pile of people hanging out around the entrance and sitting on the railing outside eating their food.
