Actual hardware stire not a general department store

Most terrible staffs of any business I've ever come across in Canada thus far. They actually have zombie's attitude: absolutely indifferent, dull, bored, unenthusiastic, and mechanical at best. It's a pain to shop at this location. Whatever the management is doing to make the least appealing atmosphere in the shop is certainly paying off. I have to shop at this location several times a day over a long period of time while building a house nearby. I'm so sorry that I have to see these people every day. Giving this store one star is way too much.

I would give this store 4 stars if it weren't for Shawn - rude, unprofessional to the point of degrading to customers. He caused a spectacle at our construction site. Started yelling, screeching tires, threatening people. I don't know how he got to the position where he is now, but he should not be dealing with customers at all. If I see him again, I'm calling the police.

I went to return defective item with one year warranty. They didn’t accept and asked me to contact manufacturer directly. I called Rona’s customer service and told them the situation, they told me to go back and ask them to call. After 30 minutes wasted my time, they accepted. How Employees don’t know the policies.

Just came to pick up an online order. The pick up lockers are located inside the store, just inside of the exit door closest to Sheppard. The cashier was impressively friendly, helpful, and showed great customer service. Entering and using the parking lot and finding the front door is confusing as a first-time shopper. I recommend driving slowly.

I went there to look at their Vanities or better say Vanity tops to surprisingly find out that you have to change your vanity if there is any problem with it's top since there is not replacement parts for it at all. Such a shame that whole thing has to go to waist just because of small dent on the top of it.

Worst experience ever. Went looking for a spanner wrench and asked a guy in hardware where to find them. He had no idea what I was talking about and thought I meant something else. After looking on my own, I tried again and showed him a picture. He immediately said “Yeah, we don’t have those” and walked away. Mentioned the awful experience to the cashier (I picked up furniture felt pads) and after paying she just said “Sorry for the inconvenience”, no eye contact, completely monotone, really didn’t care.

Has most things you could want for small to large construction jobs or home projects. Usually friendly and helpful staff. The lumber yard has a limited supply because it's an urban setting and small lot (compared to expansive yards in more rural areas). And the parking is often congested during the week, creating a challenge for picking up large orders. 4 stars.

Covid19 curbside review: Terrible customer experience. If I had known Rona was going to require an interest free loan of my money for two weeks I would not have made the order. Two weeks to make 'good' on 10 bags of top soil is just not the way business is done. Placed the order online but split it across multiple cards, so there were 3 orders, 2,3,and 5 bags for a total of ten. Recieved emails indicating different delivery dates so I called to customer service. Two hours on the line to be given a case number so that they could call back after another two days passed. (Is there only one person to answer calls?) When called back the agent did not have the correct info for my case and I had to explain again. They said they would contact the store and have them put the partial order aside until the entire batch was completed. Time passes, more time passes, still no confirmation email. I send another message to customer service and get a reply at 10pm that the order is ready. Next day, off to the store to find a clerk who didn't want to help and another who couldn't properly pronounce the brand name of the product, only to wind up with no soil because they were out of stock! I bargained my way into an equivalent amount of a different product and took off. No, don't bother to reply with "in these days of covid19" because in these days of covid19 every other retailer I've dealt with has put product in my hand within 48hrs. Two weeks is not a sustainable delivery model, for a company that has been doing online orders for some years now. No, not shopping at Rona again. Not for any reason. I'll see you at the nearest competitor. Boo ... RONA bad !

Absolutely worst service ever..my husband went to the customer service desk. There was 4 associate staff talking in around the counter. They were talking and ignored my husband. One even acknowledged him and said wait a minute. How does a customer approach 4 associate staff and is told to wait until they finish talking. After he got his order through. He went to get his drywall in the yard. There was no one there to attend to him. So he rang the service bell. No one came. So he decided to load up jomself. All of a sudden some one shows up. It was like they saw him on camera and thought they better come out now. Bad service..

Dont waste your time here. Nothing right. They have drywall compound ready-mix but they dont have quick setting compund. so i left the ready mix and went to home depot. yeasterday try to go and buy corner bead, they have inside corner bead but dont have outside one . Poor management. if you go here you need to go to home depot after anyways.

Small, cramped, unkept, but the real issue are the staff. They are busy huddled together chatting, avoiding you by looking away after your eyes meet or even turn away pretending not to have seen you. Too many staff, yet instead of better training the staff, they seem to be hiring more. Checkout staff was new, didn't know what to do and was facing away from customers, even during checkout. Of course you can't hear me if you walk away with your back towards me! Oh and the online inventory count is comepletely wrong! Says 10, but they don't have it! Staff says the counts are often wrong too. So....what is Rona good for then?

This small location has a very small inventory compared to others, except faucets and tiles, rona is known for that. Great for last minute hardware purchases if you live in the area. The customer service is slow and composed of younger individuals with little care in the world. The service desk for exchanges or refunds is terrible!..It took 12 minutes for someone to come back from lunch to help me refund a quick item even though there were 3 employees right beside me. When they did they gave me a store card with a refund, before i could receive the actual refund... such poor processes are implemented at this location, it's not like this at the larger Ronas. If you know what you want, this store is fine, if you don't, drive few minutes further to home depot.

I wanted to write EJ (an employee at Rona) a great review directly on Rona's website but their system only allows to create the review within few days after the purchase and the person has to indicate the receipt details etc. and I only found out after the expiry date. Anyway, to share my experience, I went to the shop not knowing what to get to fix my bath... I was very worried about the plumber costs and hoping to get a DIY fix as I can't afford a plumber. Then I met EJ.... I truly and highly recommend EJ as one of the best employees I met in Canada... He is just wonderful... He offered me all the help I needed and guided me. He literally saved me at least 250 dollars instead of having to call a plumber.... I would highly recommend him as an excellent employee who deserve a promotion right on the spot! I hope that one of his supervisors reads this and reward him accordingly! Thank you very much EJ for all the help you offered!

Thanks to the service department, particularly the extreme help of one employee (not sure I ever got his name but shaved head & beard!) He really went above and beyond to help me create a solution to my bed that had broken legs. He custom cut wood pieces, found the proper bolts, pre-drilled holes, and hooked me up with the right drill bit for my power drill. My install at home was super easy and now my bed is like new again! Thanks again dude!

The staff in the bathroom and plumbing section was quite rude, it seems that he should be the professional staff to provide the advice, unfortunately he was not helpful at all. The worst Rona location. Staff is not willing to help you at all. You have to ask them few times and they will finally help you out to find the product. One time one guy said they don’t carry tile edge and sent me to another location. I found exact same product sitting on the aisle next day. The only helpful staff is the guy who cuts wood. She gave my original bill to another customer. My original bill with some more items . l need my bill to for tax purpose. I talk to a manager. Staff are terrific and really helpful. This location is convenient for me based on proximity to my home, so I frequent it. Prices range from competitive to a tad over priced, but they'll price match any competitor. Product selection is lacking compared to other locations due to lack in of demographic demand (which is a bit annoying for a serious DIYer and the reason for docking a star). However the location convenience makes up for any inventory shortcomings in my case.

The first two staff members we encountered for help at the service desk (an older gentleman and a young guy) were incredibly dismissive, not even trying to help us solve our problem. They told us the product we were looking for didn't exist, despite the fact that we knew it did as it's on the Rona website. Today my father went into the store around 12:40pm to pick up some screws and nails for a home project but to his surprise was disrespected and treated unfairly by one of the employees. My father originally approached him because he seemed to have been helping out another customer (of a similar racial background as the employee himself - what seemed to be Caucasian descent) very well, with a lot of patience and helpful advice. As my father approached him, the employee immediately began to shake his head and sigh heavily and even tried to walk away from him. He spoke in a rude tone and belittled my father for not understanding everything he was saying about the screws and nails (English is not my father's first language). He was extremely rude to the point of raising his voice because my dad had some questions. Of course my father doesn't know all the details about it, if he did he wouldn't have asked for help!! This was an extremely unpleasant experience to have to deal with and we are very disappointed in Rona as a multinational company. We had a higher expectation for the screening and training process Rona would have put into hiring good employees that would reflect the values and principles of the company. Would not recommend, would not go back, our services will be going to Home Depot.

A rona stuck in time before it became a true big box store. Not the best selection as it's not laid out in the typical big box store style. Different levels throughout so not the best for those with mobility disabilities. It's also a pain to get building materials since you have to ask for an invoice first from one desk, then you pay at the cashier, then you take the invoice and receipt to the back to pick up your material. I can understand if you're ordering truckloads of stuff but you still have to do this process even if you're just getting one bag of garden sand for example. Good for contractors, not as convenient for personal DIYers.

Purchased 2 faucets online and it took a long to time ship. One faucet ended up missing a part and the warranty slip in the box. I took it to Rona at Sheppard and the Customer Service Rep helped and exchanged a new box for me within 5 minutes. The pricing in this store is always different from other stores in Rona chain. The manager on duty on 04/Mar/2016 would not honor the price that was lower in other Rona stores even I showed him the price posted online. The manager is so adamant and rude. I have been shopping here for 27 years when it was still Lansing. I must add that Ms Lydia Conseni, the on-duty manager on Mar/07/2016, was very pleasant to help me with other products that has the same price discrepancy.

It's a small location, and I found most of the staff were busy with other customers. Wasn't nearly as helpful as my local Home Depot that I frequent, but if you're in a pinch, this location has the basics for the most part.

I bought a range from this store, we book a delivery day, but few days before they delayed the delivery because they didn't have the range in stock. We were told the next delivery day would be from 12pm to 5pm; we asked the associate to delivery after 2pm and they said it is perfect. The delivery came at 11.15am and nobody was at home. No we don't know when I will get the range. I called them many times and they said someone from the delivery center will contact with me. I hope it will happen before 2045. Waste of time, worse customer service ever.

Amazing staff at this location. I make an order and it's handled asap. I've dealt with Doug extensively in contracting and I've also dealt with the store manager who are both excellent. I'm writing this because I made an online order and by accident ordered it from the Stockyards location (big mistake). I couldn't get a hold of anyone at that location and had to get a hold of customer service on twitter which wasn't much better. I was trying to change locations to Sheppard as my order wasn't being looked at. I became instantly grateful for Rona Sheppard and decided to give them some credit as they are amazing.

Our professional painter told us to stay away from RONA for paints and we should have listened. Customer service at paint desk tried their best. Not impressed with their services. Had to go up and down the store to find what I needed. Was trying to have laminates installed in my home, was called and said their staff only installs kitchen counter...really!? Home Depot will take smaller projects too. Did not even get a quote. Other time went trying to buy a flat screwdriver. Asked for 8 or 9 mm, was given one which was 1/4 of an inch and told is 15 mm. That would be 1.5 cm. Told them is not true. Asked for the measuring tape and compared the actual screwdriver to the tape, turns out it was exactly what I need it. 8 mm that I found out, not their "expert" staff. Smh...so unprofessional, each and every time.

I have been shopping at this location for literally decades ...when it was simply called Lansing Build All. It had a quant old fashioned approach to serving customers in a very old building with very old wood yard. However some 25 years later and the quantness has worn off. Process and procedures from the 1980's or earlier. Line up/wait at service desk to order two measly 2x4 studs. Order and get 4 pages of the order. Lineup/wait at the front desk to pay. They take a copy of the stack of paper and then give you more paper. Then lineup/wait at the lumber yard to get your stuff. Just brutal....maybe 30 minutes wasted. Sadly no real way to streamline this process as the wood yard is managed by associates so clients cannot pick and then pay.... its pay then maybe pick. Never again.

Bought 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 ACX plywood online. These are sanded both sided for furniture/ cabinets making. Got delivered in 2 days. Very good customers service but all the plywood that got delivered was the worst quality I could ever imagine. They all were extremely warp and that makes it impossible to build something square. Your drawers and door will never fit square. The veneers are super paper thin and peeling off at many spot. They also had lots of dents and dips. These plywood were not cheap and I can’t believe Rona would delivery something like this to their customers. I would not recommend these plywood at all.

It is in a convenient and premium location, where any single detached house is priced from 1.5M to 3M. So this store's space is a little small as a one-stop shop business in decoration/building material market. As a result, the selection is somewhat limited there comparing to Homedepot. If you are in this neighbourhood and convenience matters most for you, it is a good place for you. But I would say the service there is patient and friendly.

I had called ahead to verify stock on an item since the online inventory count can sometimes be way off and the lady who answered was super helpful. She quickly checked to make sure what I needed was on the shelf and even grabbed one and sat it aside for me until I got there. Once I walked in I went to customer service, paid and left within a couple of minutes. I'm glad there are still people out there willing to go above and beyond for great service.

This is a poorly run store. I purchased a heater online during the lockdown and tried to return it at this store. The returns clerk kept rudely saying he wouldn't process the return because it was not bought from the store. After providing him my Rona invoice, he changed his position to the item was not bought from this specific location. I asked him how I could return the item and his response was he had no idea. A total headache of a process. You are better off shopping at Home Depot where the customer service actually exists.

Good prices on certain items. Very convenient location for us. However some of the staff are indifferent and rude. Went there asking about what type of drywall would be best used in bathrooms areas. While I had several ideas based on experience and common knowledge I wanted to see what was available and if there was a code requirements. The staff pointed at me and told me I should know the code if I am the installer.This response was rude and unprofessional. As a retailer the staff need to know all about the products and try to help costumers as much as possible. Not all installers are professionals and in my case it is a DIU project. Even if staff lack knowledge they should remain courteous. Rona should fix this and make sure they hire knowledgeable staff and managers to run their business because it does matter. I ended up buying from Home depot that day, because I felt disrespected.

They told me to go for pickup to their other stores. They even do not want to deliver items between stores. Never had similar problems in Home depot.
