Ive been shopping at independent for years and generally it’s pretty good. Until i get home and find out my online order of beef expires tomorrow and is literally old brown beef i would never purchase wrapped in bright, red, fresh beef. There was zero notice that the food would be both expiring tomorrow and disguised. For a business raking in the profits this is insane.

when you say you are closing an hour early like your sign says....I would like to point out that you close at 10 ( i know you folks are floating in money based on the prices you charge...) so 10 minus 1 is 9. I went to your store for beer and you were closed from 8. who cares???...what is a sign??...just a thing that says you close one hour early but actually you close two hours early...I hope the owners are not interrupted living on the french riviera???

Had what i needed, but the staff is rude and judgemental. Act like because its Covid, they dont have time to answer questions. If you're on a budget, they treat you like you're not worth their time. Its sad because i have good memories of going there with my parents before they passed and eating at their inside restaurant thing. Now, if you're not rich, youre not worth their time. If they start treating everyone equal again and be respectful and decent, i will change my rating. It would be a 1 star if they didnt have a good selection and have really decent ready made foods. For those reasons, they get a 2 star rating. Staff is a minus 5 rating.

My mother was in the store on New Year's Eve looking for a specific kind of cake, a fruit roll to make her traditional triffle. She could not find the cake, asked for help, the lady was helpful, but unfortunately, the store did not have one. Mom continued shopping, and the lady that had helped her earlier, came running up, stating she was so glad she was still in the store. She had gone into the freezer section of the bakery, found 1 last jelly roll cake that had not been used to make a Yule Log, and gave it to my mom. Thank you for going above and beyond, and allowing our family to have a traditional dessert!

Just went in to buy a family potato wedge, they ran out when they half filled the box and didn’t have any more cooking. The girl looked stunned behind the counter, and the guy asked with her asked if more were cooking, and she just stared at him like a vacuous zombie. Then she charged me full price for the box, and being in a hurry it was that or nothing. I felt like throwing it back at her, such incompetence! They should know that 5 pm is their busiest time to sell that stuff, and be better prepared! Last time I go to that place!

As a vegetarian, I appreciate the nice selection of veggie meats and plant milks. I really only ever shop at this store because of their great natural food section. Produce are always good. Store is clean and well-organized. Staff is friendly. Pricey, but for the selection, it's worth it.

I'm so disappointed in the supervisor at Independent. I bought two 4.99 avocados. And a dozen corn on cob ALL ROTTEN so rotten inside I had to throw them out. I called and they will only refund with receipt. I'll never buy from there again. They have the worse veggies and customer service in North Bay.

I started getting grocery pickup at Independent and they have given me the best experience so far. Quick and easy as well as amazing quality meat and produce which is hard to have someone else pick for you. Also excellent customer service from the employees answering phones and loading your car.

The store is always very clean and well organized. There is a great selection of fresh produce and meat, and although prices here can be hire then other stores on certain items, season products cost the same as at other grocers.They, more notably, have a larger selection of specialty items like cheese then other lower tiered grocers. There is also a wine rack near the exit and a beer section for those who like to pair their cheese with a tasty beverage. The store brand is president choice. I find the brand to always be of good quality and the price is often the lowest or the second lowest. The store offers corn side pickup at not extra cost and deliveries for a fee. It can be a life saver for those with tight schedules or for those with reduced mobility.

Stopped in for lunch. Got the chicken strips and potatoe wedges, come with a sauce. Awesome job people. Wedges were crisp on the outside and almost fluffy on the inside. Chicken was great. Nice breading and I would have to say it was juicy. Only sad part is paying $0.75 for a bottle of water when you can get a case for a couple of bucks. Now it may not look like much for lunch but the picture is of my leftovers. It came with three strips this size or bigger then top up the box with wedges

Two birds, one stone... Pharmacy... Called day before, clarified Ontario works meds. Went to pick them up, 2 not covered I am told as she puts bottles down. I tell her again the same. 20 minutes to fix it she says, more than half an hour of my time wasted, their incompetence. Grocery Store... My sister went shopping here yesterday, mask, gloves she wore as a compromised immune system she owns, allergies as well, tis the season. In check-out she began to cough. Had a list of things to pick up for my boss. He was very specific on things that I had to pick up. I couldn't find something so I decide to ask for some assistance the woman that I approached for help at 3pm on May 15 2018 didn't want to assist me she couldn't have made it more obvious. She takes me to this guy which is loading up alcohol has nothing to do with the product on asking for hes like we dont caring that. I then ask her if she could assist me and help me look around. I'd figure if they do carrie it it could possibly be in the juice aisle, the organic aisle or the aisle where they would keep the pop. She then used a tone that was showing me that she was irritable and just wanted me to leave like she had no interest in assisting me she says we don't have it the guy would know and he knows what product you're talking about. I then ask her whats a product that's like it then for I can have something similar to replace it her face was so stunt and then the truth came out she then said to be honest I don't know what you're talking about never heard of the product. She was just trying to blow me off I guess she was mad because I asked her for assistance while she was talking in a corner with two cashier girls and was not work-related and a very unappropriate subject wow is this what we're paying people to do??? thank God we're going to replace them with machine soon. maybe there will be a computer you type in the product and it will tell you what aisle it in and if they carry or not . lets hope that can be the next thing they can come up with cause clearly there no such thing as customer service with this company in North Bay

Went to get some groceries December 10th at 8:20pm and cashier Olivia was extremely rude for no apparent reason. The friend I was with went to a different cash after seeing how rude the worker was to me. Not a pleasant experience at all. Not happy, glad Walmart is reopening tomorrow. Last time I’ll shop here.
