You have all the reviews of real people who know the products and services of Gardener's Supply at Hadley Garden Center (Gardener) around North Bay area (Canada).
Currently the firm gets a rating of 4.5 over 5 and this rating is based on 127 reviews.
As you can see its rating is virtually the best one, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may conclude that the score is quite credible. If people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are satisfied, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to give tatings when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Gardener is classified in the category of Garden center.
Tried to call to see if they carried a product, before I drove over there. The phone systems said they can’t do this. Really??? I’ll find another place to shop. Gone are the days of customer service.
Very helpful people and friendly.
Really nice folks, helped my son pick out a Venus flytrap and get it into the right pot situation. Really informative . Thanks y'all !
So many plants to look at, beautiful colors and a really good selection of seeds. Found cow pots to try out.
Nice selection of things. Pricey though.
Amazing selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Beautiful decorations, bird feeders, even bat houses! Helpful and friendly staff, very knowledgeable.
Good selection and kind staff. Great for gifts!
Charming Garden Store with a Great Selection
Allways great customers service....
I enjoyed shopping at this nursery until a sales associate made me feel unwelcome.
Very knowledgeable staff and friendly too
Knowledge staff always ready to help. Much better value in the long run than any big box store. Shop local, keeps it local.
PROS: Great selection of items for lawn and garden. Helpful and friendly staff. CONS: Sometimes gets too crowded over the holidays, but that's hardly their fault.
So far, the best selection of houseplants in 50-100 mile radius of Brattleboro, Vermont!! The staff are knowledgeable- I can walk in and ask for a “peperomia tetragona” and they know exactly what I’m looking for. It’s also worker owned. I haven’t shopped in the outdoor garden section but if you’re really in to house plants - they have best selection & best staff.
A great selection of seeds and seed starting kits/lights/soil. Great place!
Good seed selection. I found what ever I want. But customer service is poor.
I've been shopping at Hadley Garden Center for years. Great selection of indoor and outdoor plants, gardening supplies, seeds, bird feeding supplies, fertilizers and more. But it's the staff that makes it so great - excellent customer service & friendliness, knowledge and advice, and their winter gardening clinics are fabulous and free! One of the things I love about living in the Valley.
Great selection, very knowledgeable staff and the owners Tom and Janine are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.
They dont answer their phone and when asked if the phone number had changed the sales person walked away and did not answer. Probably will not go back there again .
Discrimination against people with medical conditions? Is this true? It is going around that your center turned away a person with a medical condition for not wearing a mask.
Great selection, friendly staff.
They always have everytbing I want, very helpful and friendly
Despite being a public accommodation, they discriminated against me for not wearing a mask. Unacceptable. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on plants there, but since being discriminated against for having a MEDICAL CONDITION I will be taking my business to other nurseries that RESPECT their customers. Highly disappointed, I’m never going to waste my money on their plants again. I’m disgusted with how I was treated. The staff was extremely unwelcoming and confrontational. I would give 0 stars if I could.
It's always been a reliable, friendly place to buy plants -- it still is, even under new ownership.
Walked into a “wonderland”. It has almost everything. Plants, seeds, pots, fertilizers, and decorations for gardens. The price is also fair. Love this place!
a large selection of original and beautiful plants and flowers.
I called two weeks ago to place a large order for my landscaper to pick up, I suggested that I email the full list of plants and the numbers I needed for each plant. I sent it off to Erica and then never heard back. I called twice and still no response to my email. So I took my business down the road to Wanczyk's and with in less than 12 hours they pulled my order, quoted me and set it aside for my landscaper to pick up asap. I have been going to Hadley Gardens for over 20 years and I am disappointed in the lack of service. I realize things are different now with all the regulations but emailing someone is hardly different now than it was 6 months ago. I hope this changes.
Unbeatable selection of plants, beautiful greenhouse and the prettiest pots around. This is my favorite place to shop for plants, and I appreciate how the employees wrap them at check out.
Wonderful selection, excellent customer service, beautiful local crafts.
The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They had a great selection of plants and we were able to find exactly what we wanted. They had native blueberry and a great selection of apple trees varietals.
A beautiful selection of trees and wreaths, among all the other great products for gardening and wildlife they have year round. Found a great Christmas gift for my grandparents too!
I love this place. My only critique is that it's unfortunately not closer to my house! The staff is always great. They are connected to the hobby of gardening in knowledge, experience, and self-interest. This is a local garden center that could teach some of the bigger ones a thing or ten about engagement, passive up-sales, and customer loyalty development!

I want to start by saying this place is adorable and has nice plants, very overpriced, but I will always support a local business. Most of the staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. The cashier on the other hand is not and is most likely giving customers bad advice. I came in yesterday to get this split leaf philodendron (monstera) and it was in pretty rough shape, so I decided to get a new pot for it. When I got to the counter to check out, the cashier ask me with a condescending voice "is that plant going in that pot?" To which I replied "yes". Then they proceeded to inform me that, "that pot is way too big for that plant". This is extremely bad advice considering this plant is suffocating in this tiny pot and should have been repotted quite some time ago. This plant was so root bound that I had to cut the container to get it out and there was more root than soil. You could tell just by looking at it that it was in distress. The best advice I can give is, if you're going to hire someone to work at greenhouse with limited knowledge, maybe train them better before they give a customer with no knowlege bad advice that will most likely end up with dead plants. Unfortunately this interaction may have turned me away from coming here in the future. Pictures have been provided for size comparison
Though it was a quick stop, found what I was looking for plus other plants of interest. The staff I talked to were very pleasant and helpful.
i’ve been coming here for over five years, one of the best plant shops in mass. fantastic selection, high variety and healthy plants. they have a number of rarer species as well as some more common and trendy ones. i’ve gotten quite a few dream plants from them. as others have mentioned the prices can be higher than big box stores, but you’re paying for quality. they do have a nice clearance rack near the back if you’re looking for something a little cheaper. their member program also has great deals. the green house is beautiful and very fun to browse. their outdoor selection during the spring is great too. make sure to come early in the season if you’re looking for fruit trees and such. they also have a great selection of paraphernalia, seeds and yard decorations year round. the tags and signs have accurate care instructions. the staff has been fantastic every time i’ve gone, they know a lot about plants and are very helpful, kind and accommodating. one time i dropped a plant and they repotted it for free. they really go above and beyond. i haven’t been around much during the pandemic but it doesn’t seem a lot has changed since it was purchased.
Super friendly atmosphere, bright, with many unique and well known plants. Great seed selection and all you need to grow your summer garden!
I was showing my environmental art at the Big E and the Hadley Garden Center had the perfect tree to highlight my installation! Thanks
Knowledgeable staff, good prices and healthy plants!
Beautiful plants and friendly service!
My name is Max, and I have a problem. I keep buying houseplants. First it was a few accent pieces, then that one "large" Norfolk Island Pine. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by dozens of plants!! I blame Hadley Garden Center. Their indoor and outdoor plants are in such good condition that even a novice green thumb like me can keep them alive and thriving. I have never bought a plant from them that died, but even if I did, they offer a 3-month guarantee on houseplants. Great security blanket if I take my chances with something finicky. It's wonderful to be surrounded by green plants in my apartment. This place is great for feeding the obsession....
For the past 10 years Hadley Garden Center has been one of my “go to” places for plants and garden supplies, even though it requires me to drive an hour from my home. I always felt the trip to be well worth it, as I could always count on them for tried and true perennials as well as the latest in “neat” new plants. The nursery yard was packed with loads of choices and I indulged often, spending a lot on great plants each season.. The staff, an eclectic bunch, was knowledgeable and willing to take special orders for obscure species/varieties, many of which were often filled. Definitely not the least expensive source for plants, but I was willing to pay the reasonable premium to add something new and different to my perennial beds. Well, that has all changed. I knew that the business had been bought by Gardeners’ Supply, but since that company always makes a big deal of the fact that it is a garden company for gardeners I hoped for the best. So, after seeing that the nursery was open, I voyaged northward this morning with anticipation. I would better have stayed home. Nothing on the benches but the most boring of plants. And the prices are staggering; I don’t mind a fair markup, but from what I saw the premium was 50 to 60 per cent above what I can get the same plant for elsewhere. The staff obviously were hired to adhere to a certain appearance; Lots of thin, fit 20-somethings whizzing around-they may know plants, but I am not holding my breath on that, particularly as I saw a number of plants that obviously had not been watered. I felt like I could have easily been at a Home Depot or Lowe’s, where plants go to die. I am devastated that I have lost yet another source for unique plants. My suggestion to those considering a visit: Look elsewhere.
Love this garden center, it's amazing!!!@
I placed my order on April 14, and still have not received it as of May 24!!! I called and emailed multiple times before finally getting someone. I was told they were not sure why I haven’t gotten it yet, that they warehouse has just not shipped it, but I should “receive it soon.” Will never buy from there again.
Best place for plants. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.
They have tons of beautiful plants and very friendly staff.
Best garden shop in the area a great selection of beautiful indoor plants and outdoor plants for your garden come summer
I love it here! Very helpful staff, wonderful greenhouse and outside spring, summer plants.
Great service, friendly staff. Emma was very helpful
Always friendly and extremely knowledgeable!
He said beautiful place for shopping a watting for summer start, located on Harley Massachusetts I'm going back and enjoy my back yard
Friendly, helpful workers, good selection of affordable house plants.
Always the best customer service and beautiful and healthy plants for indoors and out!
Huge selection of house plants and flowers! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great options for pots too!
Awesome! They were very helpful very patient very knowledgeable great plants healthy plants at great prices
Nice selection, wonderful plants in the greenhouse, excellent service.
Another successful stop to fill plant needs. My go to provider.
The BEST GC in the area! Knowledgable, helpful and pleasant! A Joy to experience. Highly recommend.
Great place as always....
Great variety, helpful staff. A bit pricey, however.
Only place to shop. More knowledge and customer service in any one employee than all the employees of Home Depot & Lowe's combined.
I used to love hadley garden center, but this new “gardner’s supply” place is terrible! I bought two native bushes for my yard and both of them had green plastic beans in their soil. I was HORRIFIED. Microplastics are killing the planet. A garden supply store has NO business selling them. I will never return to this store if this is the potting mix they are using, especially in native plants.
While trips to the Hadley Garden Center are often expensive outcomes, the selection and staff can not be beat.
The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. The place was busy but staff were enforcing restrictions due to COVID. Thank you!
Very helpful staff. And it's a worker owned co-op!
Unfriendly, unwelcoming, and ridiculously expensive!
Love, love, love this place! I've been here twice to get advice for my sick orchid. Not only were the employees knowledgeable and friendly during both visits, but they also physically removed the root rot that was starting to develop on the plant and re-potted it for me for a nominal fee. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for knowledgeable people who will treat your plants with love and care <3.
My go-to for houseplants and garden supplies.
I spent $3000 plus on plants over the last two years. I want to say I love this place, but the staff can be really rude and uninviting. I can’t say that’s true for every staff member, because there has been some positive interactions, but there are a few who have been condescending and, well, rude. Since gardening has become my hobby, I will be taking my money elsewhere. I hope they are able to listen to this review and improve their customer service.
Found just what I needed
Awesomeness, staff, qualities, all great
There is a large selection of plants, seeds! Almost all my plants from there. If you buy plant AND pot, they’ll repot plant for free. Very convenient
Great selection of perennials and shrubs.
Yes! For all your gardening needs!
Their selection of seeds is amazing
Friendly, helpful staff. Helped me order what they didn't have on hand.
Hadley Garden Center has declined since it was sold to GSC in 2020. Staff is much less knowledgeable and helpful. The GSC sold out of hemlock bark mulch--how can you sell out of basic stuff like that? So disappointing! Tom and the old staff were terrific, and now GSC is just another tonky garden center.
Great gardening lectures! Awesome store with plenty of seed, tools and advice
