Management of home hardware has decided, that if you want to purchase items from their store and retain the option of returning items that may be defective or otherwise, that you must give up the privacy of your phone number to them before purchase. They ask for your number as soon as you reach the checkout. This shows a real lack of respect towards the customer. No thanks Home Hardware, we had a good run ;)

This heat wave is especially hard on elderly. Downey's staff were very knowledgeable and accommodating. We were able to quickly choose the right AC unit over the phone and have it held for pick up. Mom's smile could be "seen" over the phone as she enjoyed the coolness later that same day.

I am completely frustrated with this store and will never shop here again! Went into the store this past week shopping for some needed Renovations supplies ( well over $100) I had never been treated so poorly by staff or left 2 fend for myself when it comes to loading product which was particularly drywall, in the rain and freezing rain, and ended up losing almost a sheet it would have before I had purchased because of it getting wet and because I was rushed out of the store and left in the parking lot alone I had no choice but to use a utility knife to cut it so it would fit in my vehicle and while doing so ended up cutting myself in a few places and hurt my hand. When approached in the store by a staff member she made me feel as if I was shoplifting and she was rushing me and would not assist me in finding the parts that I needed and intern ended up leaving without the pieces I need it and for mostly went to purchase in the first place initially but ended up buying other items as well. When this staff member spoke to me she spoke to me with a derogatory tone and made me feel as if I was less than a piece of garbage. My husband and I have spent a lot of money in this store and are very very upset with the service that I had received and when I returned home and he seen my hand bleeding as well as me being completely soaked and losing a half a sheet of drywall after paying for it he was very upset as was I after being made feel so horrible. I have been in the customer service field for well over 12 years and I have never ever seen someone in this position being so rude and ignorant to a customer ever and I feel as if the quality of service at this location has done nothing but deteriorate over the last year and it is sad because now I will have to shop somewhere else because I will not tolerate being treated this way ever again by their staff. I have also sent emails to the head office to make them aware of the treatment I was served, and I have told many people of the treatment I received and they will be taking their business elsewhere as well. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Went in to the store today to look for a part, 4 gentlemen were at the customer service desk chatting amongst them selves no one offered to help me until I was leaving. When they asked me for what part I was looking for they insulted me by saying "that no Homer owner should be doing that themselves" meanwhile they have no idea what my background is and offered little to no help this will be my last time shopping at this location.

I was insulted buy a customer service manager regarding a lifetime warranty return on a Wieser door handle. I did manage to get a replacement handle at no charge but had to listen to a rant on how it would be the last time he would issue a return without a receipt and that this return would cost the store 2 hours of pay etc..

Cashier not friendly. *Update* Thank you for your response Jonathan, I do Love your store and staff is usually friendly. 2020 has created supply issues so lack of inventory is understandable. Perhaps the cashier was having a bad day. I was extremely friendly, greeted her with an exuberant Hello, and it fell on dead ears. When leaving I said have a wonderful day, again nor a single word. I will grant grace for this isolated incident and continue to shop there. Thank you

This is a great hardware store in the Riverview area. The staff here are amazing and certainly know their stuff. They also have local tradespeople to provide advice on customer issues. I haven't required an install yet to comment on their installation services.
