Every Garden Centre keeps all the Plants you keep...The only difference comes when you treat customers differently....One of the lady workers was not Interested in providing Information regarding Plants I was looking for.....See, you guys will not always get the Clients who has done PHD in Environmental Engineering and neither you all have done that is understandable.....but when Customer ask you about some basic information like 'which plants would be better for my Desk ???', you should be accountable to provide the Answer...Customer who has enough knowledge is also going to pay the same amount for any purchase....Improvement is needed in the area of "How well we can treat the Customer????????"

Staff seemed friendly but this place is absolutely nothing worth the hype. I was recommended to go there by friends to which I was very excited about, and when I arrived I immediately saw dusty, wilted and basically dead plants. The lack of care and colour in the place really showed. Will not be returning ever, and will not recommend to anyone. Catch me at Heemans or Parkway instead????

So on the one hand, this nursery has a lot of plants, but not a lot of natives (it does have showy cultivars), and no great section for pollinator plants (small one last year, couldn't find it this year). So for normal suburban gardens, great. For people looking for local native plants, not so much. I tried asking for some locally native larval host plants.. nothing. But they DO have a lot of clematis (grin). Pity, this could be such store!

They are very helpful until you have placed your order! Once you have placed your order and they have charged your credit card, you can not reach them for any further assistance. Despite the fact that I placed an order for almost $1,000, I got back in touch with them because I need more than just a cash register receipt. I have tried to request an itemized invoice. I have now been trying to get in touch with them for DAYS regarding this. No one returns my call OR responds to my emails! My request I had been for an itemized invoice showing what I purchased which I need for my income taxes. NOW it appears that they may have blocked my phone number because every time I call it goes directly to voice mail and no one EVER returns my call!!! Do NOT buy from this place if you want half decent customer service!! They don't appear to understand the concept! TERRIBLE! I will NEVER shop there again!

Not the best experience. And no one seems to answer the phone there. Thought I'd give my business to the smaller guys. Insteadve shouldve went with heemans, they seem more organized. It was nice being able to view and order online though. And when I called to find out status on my order being ready yet or not and they said maybe today or tomorrow id get the order ready email. When I stressed that I would like my order available to me today they did come good and get it done for me right then so I could pick it up. The onion plant i got did not look to be that happy but other than that the plants were ok. I called when I got there to get them to bring it out contactless but no one answered the phone so I was forced to go in.

Great local nursery for the London population, it's large nursery with on-site florist as well. Everything you can imagine is found here and nothing is GMO! Many varieties of plants, flowers, tree, shrubs and bushes. A huge assortment of flowers from hanging baskets to potted arrangments on offer as well. Vegetable plants as well as seeds in hundreds of types. (depends on year and season) Massive herb section with so many different herbs to grow in pots or transplant. Assortment of different pots and soils also available My main reason for returning is the staff and owner Laurie who give it a real home kinda feeling to a larger business. very knowledgeable staff with a great attitude.

When I first moved to London I loved Van Luyk’s, but I have become increasingly frustrated over the last couple of years. It seems very hard to find a staff person who has any sort of horticultural knowledge. I will likely still browse on my own from time to time, but when I am looking for specific cultivars or even specific characteristics, or need information or recommendations, I will look elsewhere.

Was having a really hard time finding a place to buy a real Christmas tree that was open after 5pm other than a big box store. Van Luyks offered to stay late so that we could come after work. Great service, they trimmed and cut the tree and the young man that helped was very pleasant to deal with . SO glad to shop local this Christmas.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I am not impressed. Last year I told myself I wouldn't go back as their selection was slim, quality was poor and the price was still high. (I don't mind spending money if the product is good) decided to give it another shot as it's nice and close and I could have gone at a bad time.. just needed to get some merigolds this time around. Most of what was there didn't look to great, I picked the best looking merigolds. I asked why some of them were so tall compared to the others (thought they were leggy) and the guy gave me a confused dirty look, following the "idk maybe it's a different kind" As I was about to plant what I had purchased in the garden I noticed there was absolutely no roots on any of them. I have tried to call multiple times as well as left a voicemail and nobody has answered or returned my calls.

For may years I shopped exclusively at Van Luyk's. and spend well in excess of $2000.00 per year for garden plants and supplies for myself and many friends gardens. 3 years ago I went into the garden center and asked to speak to Irene. She was always very knowledgeable. I was interested in purchasing 70-80 cedar Trees for a garden hedge for a friend. When I went in ( Mid April), I was informed that Irene was busy and they would not ask if she would take the time to speak with me. I explained that I would be placing a very large order, but needed Irene's advise first. The ladies in the front stated that I could either come back some other time, or perhaps another garden center could help me. I did state that if they were unwilling to ask Irene (who was on the premises !!!) if she could speak to me that I would in fact go to another garden center, but WOULD NEVER RETURN TO VAN LUYKS AGAIN !!!! Their response was..."Do What You Want"..... I came home and called Canadale Nursery in St. Thomas, ordered the trees, had them delivered.........FREE DELIVERY.........3 days later I was planting trees and had spen in excess of $2400.00 that Van Luyks apparently did not care about !!!! True to my word have never, and will never go back to Van Luyks again.... I live 5 minutes away from them, but believe that CUSTOMER service is how you keep customers....Without the customer, you don't have a job !!!!

Selection wasn’t the greatest. They had most of your basic houseplants and vegetables. One unique thing was the asparagus crowns for sale!! I was not a fan of they automatic sprinkler that soaked my wife and I halfway through our visit, and the hand sanitizer they leave out for customers is still stuck, slimy on my hands.

I went to Van Luyk's this afternoon and was absolutely disappointed with the atmosphere and their product. I'm not really sure,what happened to Van Luyk but it was,so, so disappointing. Plant were,half dead, haven't been watered for possibly days/months. The prices have been increased and are not competitive with other nurseries. Please don't waste your time driving there, unless you're willing to throw your money away.

I purchased a Magnolia Bush $74.99 plus taxes. Within a few days the Bush started to look like it had blight. The condition worsened and so I returned to the store with it and the warranty. They refused to give me another in return and clearly don't care about customer satisfaction. I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere for your gardening needs.

Seemed to be the perfect size to wander around and not exhaust yourself. The only thing I would change was put prices where you could see them. Had to ask staff everytime, then they had to go look things up. However the young staff person helping us was very polite and friendly and loaded our bags of topsoil in the car for us. Other thing to be aware of. Their delivery charges were outrageous! Spent 60.00, I live under 10 min. away the charge was 40.00!
