REVIEWS OF Timberline Tours Ltd IN Lake Louise

The guide was awesome.

Glacier 435

Amazing ride, caring staff. The view of lake louise is amazing. They have rescue horses and really care about their animals.

Maggie Cunningham

Timberline Tours is run by honest, hard working people who love their animals. I appreciate Susan's no nonsense, salt of the earth approach. When I see some random one star reviews about how terrible some people think this company is, I have to believe that the comments are coming from entitled, out of touch people who expect everyone to cater to their every unreasonable whim. I have done two multi day horse treks with Timberline Tours in the past ten years, and can't wait for my next one. Both times, different years, they arranged a knowledgeable guide/wrangler plus a wonderful cook. The teamwork that these two hardworking ladies working demonstrated spoke volumes about the company culture: they worked really hard at very physical and dirty work, they were passionate, and they did everything they could to ensure a wonderful time for myself and other guests. The meals were incredibly tasty and filling; think restaurant quality, but farmhand portions. I never felt hungry for a moment. The camps they have in the park are a time travel to the days long past. Nice huge tents, some cots, camp stoves, and even electric fences to keep the bears safely away. Horses were well looked after, and were all very seasoned for easy tourist riding. Whenever anyone in our group wanted to stop for photos, we stopped. The team understood so well that these trips are trips of a lifetime for their guests, and they even proactively offered to stop and take photos for us when we were so caught up in the beauty, we might forget to capture it. The amount of work involved with getting the horses ready each day, the work to make sure we were comfortable, the effort in preparing great meals even 5 days in, I can't rave enough about the heart that everyone I met here puts into their work. I am so glad that Timberline Tours has been operating 4 decades; I sure hope they are around for at least another 4 more decades so that more people can experience what Timberline Tours offers for

Timberline Tours provided us with an amazing 3.5 hour experience up to Mirror Lake, and Lake Agnes/The Tea House! The horses were awesome (shout out to Billy and Chester), and our guide (Luisa if I’m not mistaken but I can be bad with names) was wonderful and gave us great tips on other sites to see and restaurants to visit. The trip itself can be a bit precarious (narrow and part of the route is shared with hikers) but as long as you have trust in the horses, and comfort with being on a horse, this particular tour is totally doable and you will have an awesome time, plus incredible views. It definitely does not disappoint! 5 stars all around!

Jolie Leung

WOW. We took a 5 hour ride up to the tea house and it was absolutely incredible. We got an amazing view of Lake Louise and the glaciers, and it was a comfortable ride up and down. Highly recommend a longer ride if you have the time.

All staff were friendly and welcoming, however, Dunnett’s (Dunnit’s?) level of professionalism was beyond anything I’d experienced. You can tell he is a long time professional and cares deeply about his trade.

Leandra dubbink

What an amazing experience. Six women in their 50s who all went to high school had the reunion of a lifetime. Three day trail ride in the back country. Our two guides Luisa and Syd were two of the most amazing young woman I’ve ever …

CC S

We had a two hours tour and it was awesome! It gave a new layer to our visit to Lake Louise! Staff is friendly and accommodating, great service. I will do it again!

Jamila Saleh

Far exceeded our expectations. The entire staff at Timberline Tours is top notch. We were greeted by very friendly young ladies named Amy and Sydney. They helped us get geared up and wavers signed. No stuck up attitudes here! We were surprised since we had booked a trip in Banff with another horseback riding company that ripped us off and were pretentious snobs. Not the case here!! They even made us feel like real cowboys and cowgirls with long trench coat rain coats (very old school western) and cowboy hats!! They gave a thorough explanation of how to ride and were big on safety. We felt at ease right away. We went on the 3 hour tour up to the Teahouse with our guide, Ashley. She was so knowledgable about the different mountains in the area and even told us about "old man's beard"...if you don't know, don't google...go on this trip! She was a FANTASTIC guide! The spectacular views only got better the higher we rode, arriving at the famous Teahouse (amazing teas) and a gorgeous waterfall. We were the envy of all hikers making the trek! It's a bit harder on foot than on hoof!! Also, the owner has a compassionate heart and rescues horses! That alone made our trip that much more special. I felt like we were apart of something more than just a tour and were helping give purpose to at least a few beautiful and sensitive animals that were destined for a terrible fate. The horses were beautiful and well taken care of. Timberline Tours was a highlight of our trip to Canada. Plus they take smaller groups than their competitor which makes for a more authentic and intimate experience in the Canadian Rockies. Really cool! Well worth it!!

I’m very surprised to see good reviews! The staff here is VERY hostile. We were encountered by a woman named Sue. I’m not sure if her hostility came from racism, or just general unpleasantness. However, I did not want to ride after a brief meeting with her. Also, the dogs on the ranch look as though they’ve been neglected. Please avoid this place if you can! We saw the tour sign on our way to Lake Louise. They close at 5PM and we were hoping to catch them before then. We got there at 4:20 after checking their website, with full knowledge that they do 15 minute rides. We entered and were immediately confused since there is no obvious designated parking space, our thought was to pull up as close as we could to the ranch. We saw someone walk out, she simply looked at us and looked away. My friend then asked if they were still open. She responded with a short no, and looked away. I immediately felt unwanted, but told my friend the sign said open till 5PM so I’m not sure why we were getting refused 40 minutes before they closed. Maybe she just had a long day, but if you want to close at 4:20PM instead of 5PM, change your hours rather than being rude to guests who walk in within the hours of operation. To diffuse the awkward situation, he called out saying “Aw thats too bad! We really wanted to ride the horses, we were only here for the day.” The lady who we now know as Sue, sounding extremely annoyed, responded with a “Fine we can do a 15 minute.” We thanked her and she told us to back out and park closer to the entrance. At this point, she was visibly annoyed and extremely hostile towards us. I asked my friend to hurry, to not annoy the woman anymore. Unfortunately, that had the opposite effect. We rushed to park and ran back to meet her and she immediately yelled at us for driving fast on her property. We began to apologize and said we just came here to ride horses. We didn’t want any problems! While we were apologizing, she reached back to answer a phone call -a personal call, not a business call. At that point, I turned to my friend and said theres no point of riding. She obviously didn’t want us there, I felt very uncomfortable. We didn’t want to leave without saying a word, or interrupt her phone call, so we waited till she was done to tell her we will just go. UPDATE Just read through some of the other reviews, the owners responses to negative experiences should tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about the hostility at this place.

Christian Wendell Gueco

I was a bit hesitant to ride the horses originally, and although I felt a little bad making the horses ride up and down such a treacherous path, they seem to handle it like champs. The horses were amazing and seem to be well kept after.

Trevor Travis

Really enjoyed the trip. Great guide who took us up the mountain, with amazing views along the way. Highly recommended

Luiza Luiza

Just the best hosts, myself and two kids (5,10)were brought on a great trail ride to the lake and knowing it’s benefiting rescued horses really made it great. The 5 year old was brought on a horse towed by the guide and the horses we were on were clearly on autopilot. Fantastic scenery and the best price we found.

Beheshta Yousefi

We had two wonderful rides at Lake Louise. Sue is knowledgeable, accessible and accommodating. Our guides, Sid and Shay (sp?) were great guides, each with a wealth of information about the area. The horses were so easy to manage, especially on the rocky, steep trails that at 71, I felt strong and safe. Thank-you!

Susan Davis

Great people, great tour, great service. My wife and daughter loved it.

Craig Groza

great experience, good price, had an awesome time here. highly recommended

Remus Voinic

Very nice setup. It is my understanding that most of the horses are rescues. Good guides. Easy rides of various duration. Apparently the animals don't like it if you try to rearrange their order so don't try it. Definitely worth the money if you have children. Very affordable.

Taylor D

Had a wonderful 2 hour ride with my husband and our guide Maria. She was very knowledgeable of the area and horses. There was quite a bit of snow at the time and the horses handled it well! Maria took our pictures at the beginning of our ride as well as when we got to the back of Lake Louise. She also ask if we where warm and comfortable on hour horses! She answered any and all questions we had along the ride. My husband grew up with horses and I had ridden a few times but felt like a pro on my horse. They were so well trained! By the end my husband was in love with his horse and wanted to take him home.... Only downfall was the collection of junk (rusty trailer, tires, etc.) on the drive in that was a bit of an eye sore and I had to walk through mud puddles to get to the Porta potty. I’m ok with a porta potty as they are all over in the national park I just wish it was in a better location.

Bart Vanmeensel

Great people- Great experience!!!

Anca G.

We had a great time. Friendly staff and nice horses.

Erin Charnigo

If your in Lake losuie make sure you take this wonderful horse back riding along the mountains.

Teresa Bruffey-Hall

We went there just to take a look and decided than to not book a ride with them. The horses dont have enough space. They told me you go in group of about 6 people, most beginners. This is nothing for experienced riders which love horses and value a good stable.

Micheál O'Brien

Our guide Nichole was absolute delight. The horses were easy to manage and the views were beautiful.

Jared Toppenberg

Very fun and good for first time or experienced riders, was my first time ever and felt safe and happy the whole time. Thanks Anna

Brendan Pan

My son Rylan and Lindsay planned their wedding at Skoki Lodge but my husband and myself did not want to try and hike to the camp ground at Red Deer Lake for a 3 day trip. We contacting Timberline Tours to plan the weekend around their wedding with a horse back trip for 3 days and 2 nights. We had the absolute best time. I cant say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves and the quality of the guides during the trip up and down were outstanding. Thanks so much Timerline Tours for making my son and his new wifes wedding the best experience imaginable. :)

Harsimran

Don't let the rough edges turn you off. They offer a great ride package with friendly guides and very timid horses. Anyone should be able to do this and they make sure to go slow. The view you will see is unbelievable and something you won't see by foot. Their prices are very competitive, but keep in mind these rides can be expensive, but it is very well worth it!

Rochelle Adonis

If you love horses and have some experience with them, then this place is for you. A stunningly beautiful bit of peace and quiet ambling through snow covered fir trees beats the heck out of tours to Fairmont. Run by professional capable people who love their horses. Please don't go if you can't stand the country life realities of mud and animals. It is a horse trek on fixed trails out of necessity so don't expect the wild west.

Carrie Perucca

Wonderful experience. More family oriented

Andrew Jonkers

Beautiful Tour, well done

Chris Clarke

We had a great time at this ETHICAL outfit. We did the 2hrs trip because it was snowing and the longer journeys were not available for safety reasons. 10/10 would go back for a longer ride and all 6 of us felt the same.

Quebec Vipers

I planned a wedding proposal over the phone with Sue (the owner), and she was very happy to help make this day possible. Needless to say, the proposal went better than I imagined. Our tour guide, Sid, was amazing throughout our entire 4 hours journey. The views are nice, the horses are nice and well behaved, everything was perfect. Would definitely go back in the future for more!!!

Margaret Palmer

Sue, Paul and Sid did everything imaginable to may my daughters dream of horseback riding in the mountains a reality. From extremely well trained horses to Paul’s stories of the old mountains, this was a trip of a lifetime. If you’re looking for an authentic horseback trip - look no further. Thank you Timberline Tours!

Jihye Bajkor

Nice staff, super friendly horses, amazing views, but I wish the beginner riders were near the front instead of at the end. I understand there is an order to horses, similar to dog sledding, however everyone in the group would have benefited from the less experienced riders riding the horses closer to the guide. The more experienced riders on the horses toward the back.

Courtenay Lamoureux

5 Stars to Sid & Nicole who hosted me and two girlfriends for a 3 night 4 day backcountry camping and riding adventure. They were very kind, patient and personable. It was a pleasure to spend time getting to know them. I would do another overnight with these two if the opportunity presented itself. Highly recommend the overnight trip (and generally I do not enjoy camping)- tents and cots are set up, meals are planned prepared and cooked for you. I would recommend bringing a warm sleeping bag and layers as the weather is unpredictable. I was expecting basic breakfast and suppers (cold cereal, burgers and smokies)-they exceeded my expectations (French toast, bacon and eggs, steak, roasted chicken to name a few). The scenery was amazing!!! I believe our shortest riding time was around two hours, most days it was four or more. We were also able to hike around and explore the locations we rode to. Thank you for having us!!

Sophie Lyon

We had a group of 6 people & booked a private tour. Sue was able to answer all our questions and our tour guide was wonderful! Sue even let me park at her stables two days after tour so I could show my parents Lake Louise for about one hour. Such great customer service. Our horses were friendly and we felt safe. Our tour was full day. We left around 9:30am and didn't get back until around 5:30pm.

Oscar Haupt

What a great experience...had enjoyed it alot n will surely recommend everyone and ya make sure u go for a ride for 45 mins or above as it was fun n a good amount of time for ur investment..the tour guide and management both were helpful and kind even they are great at giving information about the surrounding.....the horse's were beautiful ....the trail way was good n nice for getting the real experience of horse riding ...make sure to wear a hat and click photos ✌✌✌????????????

Carlye Wallace

We were visiting lake Louise and spontaneously decided to stop in and wanted to do a 2 hour ride, they accomadated us right away and the two of us went out with a guide and it was such a wonderful ride! Our guide took photos of us at the beginning and halfway through the ride, not many places offer to do this so it was really appreciated! Our guide (I can't remember her name sorry!!) Was super friendly and we had some fun conversations. We did a ride at a different stable the day before and there was about 12 people and it was very strict and not that enjoyable. This ride was so casual and relaxed, the views were beautiful and it was a real and fun experience. Next time we come to Banff we will definitely be stopping in for a ride again! Thanks for such a great time!

Stewart Martin

Had a wonderful time riding beautiful horses in an unforgetable setting. Awesome customer service. ????????

Tiffany Wong

My mom and I had a really really amazing experience! ???????? There was only the three of us which made it so much better since we were all experienced riders. We did the ride to the Plains of Six Glaciers Teahouse and it was about 16 or 17km and took about 4 hours. I highly recommend doing the trail ride with Timberline Tours and I could tell that they are really good to their horses which I fully support!!! Yeah, their website might look a little rough around the edges, but the fact that the horses are the first priority matters to me. The guide was great and very friendly. The horses were steady and well behaved. The ride takes you from trails through the woods to the end of the lake and then up some rockier trails to the Teahouse, so you get a variety of terrain. The scenery was amazing! Such a beautiful place! We even saw 2 avalanches!

James Cordeiro

Beautiful tours and nice horses and good leaders. Problem is that it only has one pit bathroom. Would like to see better bathrooms!

Whitney Smith

We took the 4 hour ride to the teahouse by Lake Louise. Wonderful experience and the horses were really friendly. Recommended if you want to have a cheat day from all the hikes!

Karen Whitbread

Great girls treated my kids wonderfully. Gave them unforgettable experience.

Amanda Querner

It’s worth it. We rode for two hours on the first day and three hours on the second day.

dan young

Our guide Sid was amazing. Did the 3 hour tour. Horses are well cared for and the staff really know how to match you with the right horse. Great ride and would definitely do again if in the area.

Ryan zhang

Very nice ride to Lake Agnes and Little Beehive. The horses were really easy to ride.

Sads A

My spouse and I did the ride to Lake Agnes and back. When the horseback trail merges with the hiking trail, be prepared to feel proud that you are on horseback as every other hiker wished they were going by horse too! It was very fun, and will definitely sign up for overnight trips next time!

Lana Koshkareva (Lana)

Thank you Timberline Tours for taking us for 15 min ride right before you closed! You made our stay at Lake louise amazing!

Amber Christensen

Amazing Tour! We had such a magical experience, our guide Sophie was such a sweetheart! We did the 2 hour trail, but includes so much more then expected or listed on the site! Such breathtaking views and just an amazing experience with the lovely horses!

Blake Dahl

Sue runs an incredibly ethical and professional business! All of her horses are rescued, gentle and well behaved. This is the only place you should consider for an amazing trail ride around the spectacular Lake Louise.

Jim Szasz

Thank you for a wonderful experience! Great people.

We did a 3 1/2 hr tour in 2016, and this was the highlight of our Rocky Mountain vacation. I have done a lot of back county camping through the Rockies and this was a great new way to see the Rockies. We had one guide for our family of four, this was our 9 year old twins first time on a horse and the experience was extremely memorable for all of us. The operator lives on the property and seems to really care about her animals. I would recommend this experience to anyone.

Jeanette Friesen

Amazing Experience. My mom (60 years old) and I went on a 4 hour journey to Six Glaciers with Sophie (Guide). The ride was an unforgettable experience and well worth the price. Sophie was a great confident Guide who anybody could talk with. This wouldn't be an easy ride in my opinion but new riders could still do it with the right attitude. Sue (Owner) was very professional and is an example of someone who loves her horses and takes pride in her business. Thank you! We will be back rain or shine.

Robin Milne

Great experience, great service. Loved it

We had an amazing time with Timberline Tours! Definitely worth the money! We constantly got envious looks from sweaty hiker onlookers. Haha We got told we “cheated” but then someone mentioned that we “worked smarter not harder”! They do a more personal tour with you than the larger company nearby (that company takes up 15 or more on their trails) - our tour consisted of my husband and myself! We had Syd as our guide and she took us up to the Little Beehive, the Teahouse/Lake Agnes, and along the way she pointed out the different mountains, glaciers and wildlife. The guide told us the horses backgrounds - they often rescue their horses from the meat trucks (Square for instance was a carriage horse sold off to be on a meat truck before Timberline Tours purchased him). They use their horses for one tour and then let them eat and go out to pasture for the rest of the day. They take small breaks to let the horses catch their breath up the trail and obviously love and care for their horses!

Sam Beauregard

We had a super ride on the Plain of Six Glaciers trail to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Our guide Marie was friendly and knowledgeable pointing out various landmarks along the way. Our horses (Tom and Jackson) were great and perfectly suited to us. We were lucky to be just the two of us on the tour and we were provided with rain coats as it was snowing a bit. We also didn’t feel rushed at the tea house and Marie was happy to take photos for us too. Overall we had a truly magical experience and recommend them highly.

Ponder Upon

Both Sid and Nicole were fantastic. I have a child with Autism and they had patience and attended to our needs. The experience was great and the kids loved it. The horse were well trained and I can see our family repeating a visit here before the end of the season. Thank you to the whole Timberline Team for a great experience. Daniel MacDougall

Laurel Alston

Absolutely amazing experience! We went out on a 2 hour ride with some friends and had a wonderful time. Our guide Victoria was super knowledgeable and accommodating! Stunning views! Beautiful trail to ride on. Totally worth it!

Cyra Christen

Friendly staff, lovely horses and small groups. The feel of the farm is amazing. You feel the love for the horses they work with. …

steven

Fair Prices, Sue was so helpful and allowed us to go get our tickets for the Lake Moraine bus and then come back for our tour that we booked same day! What ended up being a challenging day finding parking at the Lake turned into a surprisingly beautiful day with a kind guide and great horses. The kids had a lasting memory! We did the 2 hour trail. So beautiful. We didn't have enough time, but the only thing that would have made this cooler is if you got to get off and put your feet in where the glacier water comes down. But the kids loved that the horses crossed the river.

Alicia Taulu

Very close to Fairmont hotel within 10 mins walking distance. Compared to the other choice introduced by hotel, I feel happy and satisfied to go with Timberline. 2 hours horse riding is the perfect choice. Small group and nice guide. It will lead you to the other side of lake louise with beautiful view. you will experience uphill and downhill. Horses are well trained. highly recommendation.

Leah Wells

Sue was such a great host and guide. I would highly recommend it.

Gary Dosanjh

Absolutely amazing. The main lady, Sue, was so nice and provided me a sweater as it was colder than I predicted it would be. The guide was so cool and provided some information about Lake Louise. The horses are well taken care of which made for a nice experience. We did the two hour tour which was perfect.

Rita Gill

Excellent prices! Great ride, friendly staff, beautiful horses. Impromptu stop, but well worth it. ^__^.

Daniel MacDougall

Amazing staff will be back for sure they were amazing with my daughter who had never rode a horse on her own before

Karine Filiatreault

Horses are in very good shape, cleaned and feed like kings. Professionally guided ride. Hidden gem in Lake Louise.

Gary Mo

I give your business a failing F. My sister and I came to Lake Louise for a horseback ride August 8, 2018. Our first time at Lake Louise. We were told by Chateau Staff we could park by the horse stables. We parked down by your stables. Thinking it was the correct place to park because of the old trailers, tires and rubbish laying around it looked like an overflow stable for the horses. We took our ride through Brewster Stables. As we were walking to our vehicle a very upset women staff member of yours came at us asking us who said we could park there. She very nastily let us know in very rude terms we were not to park there. She wanted us to pay her at a minimum $20 or she would call a tow truck. She went on for quite some time about how we took up her parking area. I would never recommend hiring Timberline Tours because of the rude way she insulted us. The owners need to know!

Derek Yeo

Amazing staff great ride

Kerri Kiesendahl

Great place to take a family. Guide was so knowledgeable and told us about the history of the surrounding mountains and area. Horses well natured and taken care of so professionally. Would recommend to everyone.

Jamie Ryan

Nice ride.

Jen McGuire

We had a blast doing the 3 hours ride to the tea house. The people are very nice and the lady has been a previous dog breeder. She has 6 lovely dogs... and we played with them while waiting. …

W J

This was our kids (ages 12 and 9), favourite activity during our mini vacation to Lake Louise. Sue and her entire team were very accommodating and made the it a memorable experience. Prior to going, the kids were a little nervous because we have zero horseback riding experience. The horses were very well behaved. After about 5 minutes on the horses everyone was very comfortable riding. Thanks again Sue! Very highly recommend. I would give it 6 stars if possible. Edit: forgot to add that Sue and her team were very good with our children. Sue pointed out interesting facts to them throughout the trail ride and our youngest wants to go out for an even longer ride next time.

Yuliya Chalaya

Highly recommend the 3.5hr tour to the little beehive. They stop at the little teahouse in the mountain which is perfect as horseback riding can get strenuous. Enough time to get their famous chocolate cake. The horses were very well behaved, and the tour guide was amazing. The views were absolutely breathtaking on top of "the little-beehive". There will be hikers on the same road on the trail but that causes no problems. They had a wide collection of horses, my horses name was Cheroke, who does jump a little, which was amazing.

Sarah Marsanich

Oh My Goodness, my kids loved it so much. Sid and Nicole were our guides. They did not disappoint and were accommodating as we were running very late. Our ride was shortened by our fault being late, which was ok for ours kids first time being on or even around horses. We were grateful they took us at all for how late we were. They were very patient as our kids were very excited and not being the best behaved especially my 4 year old but she is autistic and it was very different for her. I was worried that she wasn't going to get on. But once she saw her younger sister get on, she realized she was getting on too and became a different kind of excited. The 2 youngest are usually always too short/small for rides and miss out which can escalate behaviors. It was incredible how my daughter just calmed and was at such peace. My 11 year old fell in love. It was amazing and can't wait to do a longer ride! Thank you so much Sid and Nicole!!!

Andrew Burris

Incredible horses, knowledgeable and caring staff. Amazing experience!

S S

Great experience! Staff was very friendly, polite, and unlike other horse tour companies, they can accommodate children! We really enjoyed our tour and we would definitely do it again with them....

Risa Daigle

A little rustic but they were friendly and accommodating. The girls loved it. Of all the places they did horseback riding, they said this was their favorite experience (and the highlight of this trip). The guide was helpful and engaging. They keep the groups small that the guide can interact with everyone (rather than huge groups they herd as the Banff one does - although I still enjoyed it too). They also stopped at scenic spots for you to enjoy it and take pictures if you wanted (unlike the other guys next door, from what I heard). The owner lady said she doesn't make much money but she does it because she loves it, and it shows.

Yaniv Tal

Great staff and excellent view of the lake

The first impression of Timberline Tours was very pleasant. The woman I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and courteous. On August 11, 2012 4 of us set out for a 3.5 hour ride. The first thng I noticed was the number of horses being …

Rohit Aggarwal

Sue from Timberline Tours lead my family on a two hour ride across the far end of Lake Louise. This was a lifetime experience. One worthy of Instagram, and that my sons and wife also enjoyed immensely. I highly recommend it!

Kate Rabel

Had a great time and Cupid was an amazing horse. Our lead was also professional and I learnt alot from her.

V P

I had such an amazing time with Timberline Tours! I went on the two hour ride and my guide Marie was awesome. My horse was well behaved and I was very comfortable. I would recommend them to friends and family and definitely use them again in the future.

Shelba Mack

Loved this ride. The horses behaved and were beautiful. We were treated nicely. Loved playing with the dogs while waiting to saddle up. We went on the 2 hour ride.

Joshua J

Oh Wow! The last time my husband and I were at Lake Louise was in 2001. Being so much older now we decided to do the 3.5 hour horseback ride to the Teahouse. Sophie was our guide and she was great. There were only six people on the ride which felt perfect. Shopie took us to a great lookout spot before the Teahouse. My Grandson and I are both afraid of heights but somehow being on horseback made this a non issue. Some of the paths are narrow but Sophie would politely request people to move to the side and stop and everyone complied. Definitely worth the money for the ride and amazing view. Yes my backside hurts but nothing a hot bath won't cure!

Jamie Holmes

10/10 experience our guide Anna was amazing she was sweet, patient, and made it comfortable for beginners. I saw stuff some negative comments but we didn't experience anything but good vibes from everyone and every horse. Thank you to Timberline Tours we will recommend this to everyone. 2 hr tour and got to see the best view of Lake Louise.

M T

Very poor experience! We spent $210 and they just took us on the mini trail and road for half an hour. Not worth it. Tour guide was super rude. Will never visit again.

朱天宏

Made our trip to Alberta special. The all day ride brought us to many amazing scenic locations, and is the only way to experience Lake Louise. Friendly, safe and professional

Amanjot Mundi

hard working horses slogged through mud and puddles to take us to the far end of Lake Louise for gorgeous views. small groups, great fun.

Christian Baun

Highly highly recommend Timberline! The location is very convenient right by the chateau. The staff are wonderful. Our guide was Nicole and she was amazing. She is very knowledgeable about the area and was super friendly and curious to get to know us. She was a delight! We absolutely adored the horses. Near the top of the mountain we share the trail with hikers and most of them envies is since we were on horses. I should add that we are not expert riders. We only rode once before. We rode Winter and Rey and they were beautiful. You really get a chance to connect a bit with them since you spend so much time with them. The staff are very helpful if you want photos. Bring a treat for the horses; they take really good care of you and make it easy for you to get to the top. We brought a couple of apples and were allowed to feed the horses ourselves. Truly a heart-warming experience.

Cheryl Adams

I have ridden with Timberline Tours many times over the last few years and they have always been great trips with spectacular views, wonderful horses, and knowledgeable guides. I love the horses Sue & Paul have as most of them are rescues and have individual stories of how they got to Timberline. I finally got to do a pack trip this year and it was more than amazing! Camp was comfortable and cosy - ready to move in on arrival. Food was superb. The experience was very relaxing as the guides did everything for us; giving us time to enjoy the horses in the fields and the views around camp! Each day we had a new ride which was better than the last; we saw soo much beauty and had such a wonderful time. Thanks timberline! I’ll be back!
