What a great experience form the very beginning to the end. I am a lady, for sure not very handy around the house or knew anything about wires or connectors but with Cal’s help I was able to do the lighting project in my backyard all by myself! Without hiring a subcontractor. My backyard looks like my private resort now. Cal was super knowledgeable , helpful, professional and responsive throughout the whole process. He helped me design the lighting - location and type of fixtures- by looking at the video and pictures of my backyard I sent him. I did everything exactly like he recommended and it turned out beautiful. The fixtures themselves are extremely highly quality, so much better from anything I saw at Home Depot. The kit came with all necessary wires, connectors and even tools. I followed the instructional video he made and it was very easy to follow. Other YouTube videos just confused me. I can’t recommend enough Lighting Doctor. What a great company with great product and customer service. Thank you, Cal!

I was looking to do the landscape lighting as a DIY project on my property and I found Lighting Doctors on YouTube. I reached out to Cal with some pictures of my project and property and he was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Even before I purchased any lights he gave me a video consultation and then he helped me put together a custom kit to meet my needs. Cal is very professional and responsive and provides a great service here. My project required about 25 lights which would have cost me more than triple what I paid with Cal had I had a landscape company do this for me. Cal's kits come with everything you need - even a mallet to pound in the stakes! His videos are also very helpful. If you're a person who likes to DIY then I would highly recommend Lighting Doctor for your project!!

Stumbled across The Lighting Doctor (TLD) while looking for an upgrade to my existing low voltage lighting system. I checked out FX Luminaire products which TLD sells -- their website said they designed their products to be professionally installed. Don't you believe it. Cal at TLD shows you each step in detail via his multitude of videos. I still had a few questions and Cal himself responded virtually immediately. So, I bit the bullet and ordered lights for my front and back yard, installed them on my own following the videos and and, Presto Chango, my home has been transformed. Soooo much better than the big box store systems, easier to install and maintain and the LEDs use way less electricity! If you're handy at all, forget the pro and DIY with Cal "at your side". You won't regret it.

I don't have a bunch of spare time, and I'm not much of a DIY guy. What's more, I've seen the bad jobs people have done w/ lighting, leaving exposed cables, etc. Well, a $16,000 lighting quote from a local company + COVID-19 shelter-in-place changed my opinions, and I got really interested in DIY landscape lighting. I watched Cal's vids, then shopped around to see if it was competitive. In short, the quality of devices and advice he provides and the price are fantastic. Using his vids and guidance and products, I've put in a lighting system that is far better than what I would have had w/ the $16k quote I got locally, and it's been an absolute blast to do. Cal has excellent follow-up and follow-through. He has a no BS manner, and he's able to help provide good solid advice on whatever component you need in a non-competitive, can-do manner. In short, if you want to do this project right and do it once, Cal @ LightingDoctor is awesome.

Cal provided great customer service from beginning to completion of my DYI project. I started envisioning how I might use lighting to enhance my front and side yard curb appeal at night after seeing what my neighbor had done with his front yard lighting. I began by searching through books on landscape lighting, but ultimately turned to the very informative YouTube tutorials offered free of charge by Cal. Ultimately, Cal was able to use photos of my yard to make professional recommendations using a video presentation that showed me how I could use different lighting techniques to highlight the unique features of my house, trees and landscaping. After choosing the lighting features that I wanted to install for Phase 1 of my project, Cal assembled a customized package that met my needs. The order process went smoothly, and with helpful guidance from Cal during installation, I was able to successfully install the lighting system. One little hiccup occurred when I discovered a faulty down-light that failed after a few days of operation. This occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic so was not able to get an immediate replacement of the light fixture because the factory had been shut down. But Cal took good care of me by refunding me for the light fixture, and then sending me a new fixture once the factory was up and running again. I can't say enough good things about how Cal handled this situation. He provided a great lighting design that is the envy of my neighborhood. I will be using him again when I install my backyard lighting system. Cal is highly recommended.

Lighting Doctor was a pleasure to work with. At every turn I got a different opinion and little or no support as to why decisions were made. As my wife and I were approaching the thought of adding lighting to our backyard pool area I started doing some research the components, brands, and whether to pay for someone to do it or to do it ourselves. I wasn't in the market for cheap lighting, I wanted to purchase quality long-lasting products that I wouldn't have to worry about replacing or servicing for years to come. Thanks to Cal and the Lighting Doctor company, we have transformed the entrance to our home! The videos were so helpful and the support was wonderful. Every question was answered quickly, but most questions are answered in the YouTube videos. I sent pictures of the proposed project area to Cal, who sent back a presentation using my pictures, with suggestions about lighting. We bought the full kit and had a fun time setting everything up....apart from digging trenches in very hard soil and gravel! The snap connectors are a dream to use. I've never done any electrical wiring before, but I wired the entire project! The lights are really high quality and actually light up a big tree!! Thanks Cal! Beyond expectations... needed a product delivered within 5 days as we had a contractor scheduled to come install a sprinkler controller but his price for the controller was twice that I could find online and said I am free to supply the part and he will install... spoke with a store clerk at Lighting Doctor Ltd. (they are in Calgary, I am in Ontario), they checked that it could be delivered by my deadline and confirmed it was the same part my contractor would supply, I placed the order and the controller showed up at my home the very next day in perfect condition, well before my deadline.
