Nothing against the Home Hardware store on King St. in Waterloo in fact I like going there but the germination of their OSC seeds is hit and miss. Tomatoes typically are fine, but the flowers not so much. Geraniums: 20%, Wave Petunia 80%, Ox Eyed Sunflowers: 11%, Purple Coneflower 15%, Nicotina 80%, Painted Daisies 0%. Are their customers their Quality Control? If they had a credible process to manage their seeds they would stand behind their product.What a waste of time and money.

Ordered White Pine seeds, received white birch seeds. Wrote to them to have it corrected but was ignored. Then a month late the right seeds showed up. Odd experience.

This is the second time I am ordering seeds from OSC Seeds. I only order non-hybrid, heirloom seeds and they have usually done well for me. Also the second time, I received the seeds a couple of days after my order was confirmed. Although I am not in a rush to plant anything yet, the fast delivery shows they are efficient and organized.

Extremely disappointed. I’ve been gardening and propagating plants for 35 years. I am a Landscape Designer / Horticulturist and have professional equipment to start seeds. This spring I purchased Tithonia, Zinnia and Columbine seeds, ...Zero germination! One of four Dahlia tubers have leaves. A Bletilla package contained only peat moss when opened. The Anenomes and Cyclamen, planted directly into the garden have yet to sprout. I could accept a few failures being my fault, but this is just crazy. The biggest disappointment is that despite sending an email and leaving a phone message, no one has contacted me. Sign me, First and Last time customer.

Had a mix up with my seed order, and two types of seeds were mixed up (it was a pretty big order with lots of different seeds, so a very understandable mix up to occur!). Wrote in to advise of the order, received a very prompt response, and s replacement delivery within a week. Thanks to Bridgette for her prompt and professional assistance! Also a big fan of OSC in general- good selection, even better prices! Would definitely recommend.

I would.not recommend OSC Seeds. I was charged 24 bucks for 3.packs.of seeds they charged me.for a.pack.i.did not.order. one pack they charged me 8. 95 and soposibly it was bigger then a normal.pack ya maybe 20 seeds.in the little.pack. not happy..and when ya email.them they have yet to respond. I asked.for my money back and I will.return the seeds cause.they were not worth 24 bucks. And still no response from them.at all.

My experience of ordering seed from OSC online has been very positive. I find the prices competitive and I have had no trouble with germination. I do wish they'd offer a few more plant images and details on the website, but that's just being picky. On the one occasion when something was mistakenly omitted from my order, it was immediately rectified by their staff when I emailed. All in all a good experience and I'll order again.

ordered three packs of mixed sunflower seeds. started them indoors like all the other plants I grow each season. but the seedlings from these seeds grew into amaranth (which is an invasive plant that is not in my yard or the yards near me before this) instead. when I contacted them about this explained the situation, they denied all ownership and tried to blame the soil I use, which not only have I used several years now without any issue like this, but the sunflower cells were the only of over twenty that grew this weed despite being the same soil. also, every seedling that popped up were the exact same, so not one of them were the sunflower it was supposed to be in the first place. no so far doesnt look like they will give my money back either though I am still waiting for a response on that. definitely won't be getting seeds from this company any more and would not recommend them to others in future.

I agree with the many reviews about very low germination rates. I have had the same experience since the pandemic. In fact, last fall I purchased a very large amount of Sugar Maple Seed with a 0% germination rate. 2 years before pandemic, 90% germination rate. I have attempted to contact OSC using their web page no response. Although I have been a long time customer of OSC, I must terminate doing business with them. OSC does not seem willing to cooperate with me by responding to my request to discuss my concerns. Bye OSC!

If you're ordering for personal use , just go to the store. Bought my seeds on March 2nd to get an early start. As of April 1st they still haven't arrived. Package apparently was lost. Told me the package was reshipped but can't provide a tracking number or if it was a rush delivery or not. Not sure how it can possibly take a month to ship a package of seeds from Kitchener to Barrie On a side note, the rhubarb seeds I ordered last year only had a 15% germination rate.

Only one experience so take with grain of salt. Bought 2 packets of microclover seeds last year and seeded as directed. Watered daily, almost no germination of any seeds. Maybe a bad batch however still not a good experience. Bald patches of dirt still bald despite all the time and effort.

Love coming here to browse all of the seed and bulb varieties. I usually go for the deep discounts at the end of season. I have had no trouble with sprouting and usually only plant single seeds because they seem so reliable.

I bought cucumber mouse melon seed and there was only 4 in the package. 2.79 for 4 seeds. You would think there would be a 1-800 number on the package.

My review will include seeds I bought for my lawn renovation. Hope I can help anyone needing advice. I bought the perennial ryegrass & the competition blue grass. I mixed the two seeds and these were the results. I am going to overseed again over in the fall. To get these results I upped the amounts on the instructions on the bag. I aerated, used **starter fertilizers**(not regular) & to cover the seed the most important thing to use is a light layer of peat moss to hold the seed & prevent birds from eating the seed. Finally I rolled it in with a lawn roller rental from Home Depot. OSC seeds are excellent and well worth the money. Delivery was quick & easy.

Had a grass seed mix up, very unfortunate and unlucky. Customer service was fantastic, thank you James for your great customer service, and empathy to the situation. Kentucky blue grass after 10 days of planting the seeds. Tonnes of work, and patience. I suggest if you tackle anything like this to start a bit earlier than ideal temperature timing. Just incase something unexpected happens. I'd post the backyard too but it just got seed down a few days ago, thank God I started early!

We used this supplier for our store and terrible customer service they couldn't keep us stocked and when they came to pick up our display rack in the fall they promised they would have another display to exchange it with since we have alot of customers that grow all year long since we're in a northern area. They never bothered leaving us a new display or even calling us to tell us what's going on with it. Way to keep your customers in the loop. Stay away from this company that are a waste of time P. S. Watch out for Ben Hutchison he can be quite rude and ignorant if you catch him on a bad day. Definitely ask to speak with one of the ladies there instead of him they'll at least have some customer service skills.

Don't buy micro clover. The seeds don't germinate at all. I had the same experience as reviewer Tai-Chang Lee below. OSC has poor quality control.

Unable to process orders timely. Ordered on March 27th and by April 27th still no seeds. Contacted them and they loaded up on excuses,. Skip this seed company, many others to choose from that will serve you better.

Just Plant Your Money. I paid $100 for one KG of micro-clover seeds. They had them in stock and package arrived quickly. But the package had no best-before date anywhere so how many years was this sitting on the shelf? I got less than 5% germination. No refund. I might as well have just planted the money!

Very disappointed with their's Blue Grass seed. Has not grown to what they said it should poor product and will never recommend them. UPDATE Much to my surprise I was contacted by OSC . They replaced my original seed and within a week of seeding, it is showing new growth. Thank you for the great customer service.

Yes it is true the staff at the Waterloo shop are very helpful, no issues here. I have been sowing seeds from numerous other companies for well over 40 years with lots of success and much joy. Because of the pandemic last year I got a lot of my seeds from them and the germination sucess rate was very low, even on one seed pack as zero seedlings. This year I bought fewer seed packs from them but also restarted going to my old suppliers. The success rate from OSC (germination yield rates) again are very poor so my conclusion is they do not have a good enough process or quality control in place to produce fertile seeds to sell to customers, however, there costs remain high. Germination yield rates from other seed company's has been excellent so my advice would be to get your supply from more reliable seed companies.
