Helmutz put in our interlocking driveway in the fall of 2019. Of the 5 quotes I got they were on the cheaper side which was a positive since they had a pretty good reputation. They did have less of a warranty (2 years) than the others so maybe that is why they were less costly (that said, they do dig down 16 inches which is more than some other vendors, so who knows) Overall we are quite pleased with the job they did (note that their work has only been in place for one winter, but so far so good). The driveway looks great, is perfectly flat and is graded away from our house properly. We had an issue with the water shutoff valve sticking up high which required the city to fix over the winter, and we were slightly worried Helmutz would drag their feet to re-jig the pavers around it, since to them the job was 'complete' months ago. However as soon as the weather (and Covid) allowed, they came out and quickly put everything back together without me having to bug them. Professional. The only cons I can think of is a bit of a mixup on one of the driveway borders (I think due to misread blueprints) that they quickly corrected. There were some delays due to weather and their supplier but I think that is par for the course for landscaping companies. Also they had difficulty predicting when they would get to things (seems pretty common for contractors in KW these days) so don't count on getting a lot of heads up on when exactly they'll come. At the end of the day I wanted a high quality job and so far that's what we've ended up with! (I'll update the review if that changes over a few more winters.) Their foreman kept me in the loop, and they even took the time to fix my un-level gate when they had to take off to get access to the back yard. I'd have no trouble recommending them.

Helmutz did an amazing job on our retaining wall and interlock driveway. We have received so many compliments. They were professional and did everything in such a timely manner, even in the middle of a horrendous heat wave!I am so impressed with the work done that we are looking at doing our backyard with them. We would definitely recommend them.

The process from start to finish was well thought out and well done. The only glitch we had was we were not contacted about the actual start date, but the team showed up one Monday morning and were ready to go. I consider the lack of start time to be a minor glitch given the great team we had here working and how the whole process went. We have had many compliments from the neighbours and the Helmutz team made a design which would help to accommodate one of our friends who has mobility challenges. We just love coming home and being welcomed by such a wonderful exterior.

This company clearly has too much business. I have left four messages for quotes over a two week period for a project that will likely be in the $50,000+ range and I did not get one returned call in response to my request for a quote. This company has done lots of other projects in my neighbourhood but clearly does not want my business.

Great service all round. I never realized it was such a lot of work to interlock a driveway but everything "fell into place" seamlessly. With so many steps in the process and heavy equipment coming and going, that's great coordination! In the end, once the dust settled, well worth the effort to end up with a great finished product. They put in an armour stone wall for me, June 2016. Picked out the stones so they all fit nice and tight, brought extra so they could sort through, cleaned up the site nicely. This was a pretty large job and took 4 days with heavy equipment, and they even put down plywood sheets to save my back yard lawn as they drove over it. I would highly recommend them. Very professional and when I started adding extras, the extras cost less than I thought... Most of the time they cost more when you have other companies in !! Great crew of guys.

Had my driveway done in interlock. A little pricier than other landscaping companies but you get what you pay for. The estimator Erinne was very helpful and accommodating despite some challenges with scheduling (due to the home builder, not myself or Helmutz). The crew led by Ryan was very professional, friendly, and addressed things immediately without any issue. They worked very hard, were always on time and got it done in the time they estimated. In the end the work was great and the driveway is beautiful. Would definitely hire them again for other landscaping work. *edit* A couple years on and the driveway still looks as good as the day it was put in. No settling or heaving or weeds growing up through it, just a rock solid driveway. Very happy it's holding up so well!

They were professional, highly skilled and knowledgable, with our satisfaction always a key consideration. Once the project was started, there was a dedicated team here to see it through.Every day the work site was cleaned up with every attempt to keep inconveniences to us to a minimum. They helped us with the design and solutions to address drainage issues, for a price that was comparable with others.The professionals at Helmutz definitely do a great job, take care of every detail and we highly recommend them. We were fortunate to have Helmutz crew back for the 4 th time, to work on yet another project for us. This project involved redoing our backyard patio, enlarging it, as well as prepping for a swim spa, with retaining walls. As with every project we’ve had them work on the crew were polite, efficient, respectful and always diligent with their end of day clean up. They worked with us to bring to life our vision throughout the design process. Helmutz stands by the quality of their work as well as product. Helmutz did a huge job for us back in 2016. They did interlocking stone through our entire backyard, side walkway and front walkway, stoned gas fireplace as well. Absolutely gorgeous. They were very professional, hard working, neat, tidy, on time everyday etc. Honestly probably the best company that has done work at our home. We are now moving after 22 years in this home and we are already considering having Helmutz look at our backyard in our new home. The best part is the crew could walk to our new home from Helmutz if they wanted to.

We are very pleased with the new retaining wall and staircase constructed by Helmutz Landscaping at our home. From the beginning of the planning process through to the construction stage, staff were very service oriented and helped us to make good decisions regarding the extensive changes to the front of our property. Erinne was wonderful to work with and she definitely went the extra mile for us. She was very accommodating as we worked through the design process and the planning of our job. Phone calls and emails were always retuned promptly. Our foreman Mark was professional and he along with his crew did a terrific job. In addition the job site was kept clean and we had zero complaints from our neighbours. The men were very good natured to our young grandsons who were thrilled that we had excavators and other equipment on site. Now that the job is finished, the boys keep asking, when are the diggers are coming back? !!

Helmutz recently installed a patio, lighting and a water feature in our backyard. Due to the grade of our yard, a small retaining wall was also installed. They took my 23k for my driveway Interlock but simply refuse to honour their warranty. I've called a dozen times over the past 4 months to have them raise a few stones where water is pooling and refuse to send anyone out to even look at the issue until "they have time and an available person in the neighborhood." I can't imagine what their excuses will sound like when it's time to wait for the actual repair. I get better customer service when buying a $100 blender from Costco. It's now gone beyond the ridiculous and entered comical territory. Would not recommend.

Helmutz Landscape installed my backyard interlock patio, a pad for my hot tub, retaining wall and steps to my deck. The workers on site were pretty professional overall. They broke the side yard fence but did replace it. They are fast at wanting to get paid but their warranty repair and office communication to customers is horrible so I hope that other customers don't need any future repairs done. Their office is non responsive, lack appropriate communication skills to customers that paid a lot of money for a quality product. They continue to hide behind a response of "we will get to it when we have time" but yet the entire season went by last year and they still didn't come to do the warranty repairs and I've waited over a year to be addressed.
