REVIEWS OF Swansons Nursery IN Kirkland Lake

Keri

This place can be pretty expensive. There is a huge variety of outdoor and indoor plants. Staff are super nice and make sure you check out their huge koi fish pond.

Jason Smith

Perfect daddy’s daughter date during all season of the year.

Morgan Miller

First time and its an amazing place with a HUGE selection. I'll be spending a ton of money here.

Kyle McCausland

Every kind of plant you could think of is pretty much available in all color and variety. Plants are also arranged well by indoor/outdoor, shade/sun, etc

takia mcintosh

Bought 70 dollars worth of house plants. Customer service was excellent.

Robin Varni

The giant fish are worth the trip. This place is beautiful and priced accordingly. Definitely the perfect place to wander around with dreams of transforming your garden. A pet peeve of mine is that they seem to feature lush clusters of the same plants in five+ different places instead of keeping them together. I ran into displays for the same rose over and over again.

austin tim

great place to shop, friendly staff

Darrell Whiteman

Great inventory, helpful staff, and healthy plants. We love it and drive all the way from Gig Harbor to shop at Swanson Nursery.

Priscila Carrijo

Beautiful plant selection! The best nursery in Seattle.

Emma Zimmerman

The absolute best nursery and plant shop in Seattle. They have an impeccable selection of outdoor/indoor plants and gifts, plus a nice cafe. Good pricing compared to other local shops, and they really take care of their plants so you know you're buying something healthy. The staff is always helpful with questions about plant care. Sign up for their newsletter to learn about events, sales, etc.

Taunia Jean

Beautiful nursery...good selection.

Merrritt Bettineski

I wish we had something even remotely as good as Swansons in the south end.

Charissa Gascho

Swanson Nursery is a gorgeous place. Huge selection of plants and planters, as well as decorative items. I was on the hunt for house plants and they had what I was looking for. Everything is laid out well and attractive. The staff I talked to were friendly and passionate. However, I gotta knock a star off for prices. Swanson Nursery is crazy expensive. I found the same house plants at the big box DIY for 1/3 the price. If you are willing to drive farther out to the other nurseries not in Seattle, those are also much cheaper. What you are paying here is the location and service.

Dan Klawitter

Nice place to look around and great variety, but it's the most expensive nursery around.

Andrew Donovan

Marvellous place. Bit spendy but a lot of greatness!

Aiko M

I love love this place. It sometimes is so hard to choose which plant you should get, especially when you don’t have a specific kind in mind. But still a lot of fun to browse around and look at other stuff too. They have a parking lot, and should not be a problem finding a spot.

Eran Gutkin

Great place. Restaurant could improve their planning though. If your 9-3 Sunday brunch runs out of breakfast sandwiches by 10:30, perhaps you have underestimated demand.

Margoan Hunter

Always enjoy visiting Swanson's. Great variety and knowledgeable, friendly staff. Well organized.

Teresa Davis

Great place

Rob B

A great nursery, just go by.

Ben Scannell

Knowledgeable help, great selection, safe metering of people during this time of pandemic.

Liala Noddings

A great selection...a fun place to peruse...I always come home with more plants than I planned on getting.

Julie Taylor

Amazing selection of indoor and outdoor plants. It's wonderful to walk through the greenhouse glass buildings.

Tisha Ellis

Great selection of Christmas wares! Lovely Wreaths and trees and amazing selection of ornaments and decor. They also have a winter train display which was huge hit with my 4 year old.

Karin C.

They have everything for gardening super friendly knowledgeable staff.

Hamish Hill

Great staff & well managed COVID process.

Protect Night (Lights Out!)

I love shopping at this store. A good selection of Natives now. I do not like that they leave lights on at night. The one star review is because light at night harms pollinators by fatally attracted them to the lights where they die.

Charles Janovick

If you're looking for a Christmas tree Swansons is the place to go.

David Breton

The most beautiful nursery I have ever been to.

Kenrick Fischer

Fantastic selection with very helpful and knowledgeable staff. The cafe has good sandwiches and espresso. Great place to spend an afternoon admiring plants.

Laneybird

Good plant selection, polite, helpful staff, RIDICULOUS prices. Sky Nursery is just as good and their prices are fair.

PeterSu Copley

Great all around nursery with super helpful staff.

Carlos De La Riva

The selection and staff were beyond outstanding. I think the staff may have been able to tell I was new to plants because three of them offered me help. Each one of them taught me something new, providing me with helpful information on how to care for my plant (amount of sunlight, watering, fertilizer, etc). Steve even gave me a little bit of extra dirt for my tree to fill up the pot nicely. Overall, great shopping experience, knowledgeable staff and beautiful plants.

Jon Veis

Great place to visit just now. Found what I needed and enjoyed the walk around. Even picked up lunch to go.

Devin Burnett

Was great had reindeer and a camel for the kids to enjoy a good day trip with the kids.

Beeachu 22

Absolutely my favorite place of all time ever since I was a toddler. Beautiful.

Eric Streeby

Great plant selection, great cafe/conservatory with Koi pond, kid/dog friendly, knowledgeable/friendly staff...what more could you want? Love this place!

Bryson Albrecht

Incredible variety of plants and honestly the most helpful and knowledgeable staff in Seattle.

Ken Garbutt

Great place for plants & outdoor things.

Laura Musikanski

Not the best prices but yes on the best selection for plants for the garden. But that’s not why I live Swanson’s. It’s their Christmas display with rain deer, photo ops, and a train display on a different theme each year- with characters from past years hiding here and there.

vicki

Love it here. Friendly, helpful staff

Gigi Green

This is one of my "happy places." I love going there to get new ideas and find interesting new plants. The staff is very helpful and plentiful, there's always someone around to help you by answering questions and if they don't know the answer, they are quick to find someone who does. My only problem with Swanson's, is that I can hardly ever leave without buying way more than I intended.

Myrtle Sorenson

I live in California. I wanted to have a lilac tree delivered to a family who had recently loss a young person, in Seattle. Swanson’s handled my purchase and subsequent delivery with the utmost sensitivity and care! They even allowed me to make arrangements for them to return and actually plant the tree! I am totally satisfied and would unequivocally recommend them to everyone!

Grace Joy Perea

Had a great selection of pots and planters. Just wished they carried local handmade pots or even international. Majority was made in China and had one brand from Germany. Overall, beautiful designs with good quality. Plants available are those you see everywhere else. There weren't a lot of "rare" findings. A bit expensive, but offer military discount, which is a plus and you receive Swanson money when you purchase a certain amount. Redeemable in July, so I'll be back then. ????

Jo Pa

Amazing place to go to. Huge nursery with every kind of option of plant you could think of. If you dont have money, that's okay too. Swansons is perfect for walking around and appreciating the beautiful plant life.

Christine Elzey

There are closer, less expensive nurseries that I could go to, but I have to say, they know their stuff.

Paul Rober

You maxed out my card but the perennial garden was well worth it.

Radhika V

Great place. Lots of varieties of plants. Must visit place for plant lovers.

Brittany Tungcab

Going to the store after not seeing the website stating that scheduling time is required is poor customer experience, to say the least. Gone twice, never going back. Already found another nursery that's given me healthier plants, better pricing, and look at that, I don't have to schedule a time to come in.

Nikki Vatcharindr

Love their plants... So healthy and cute

Maddy DeMaris

Lots of fun plants and plant accessories, and the Cafe made some good coffee!

Yupeng Lu

Easily get into “we are at capacity, sorry” mode ????

Kelly R

I love Swanson's for their selection, but their prices are quite a bit higher than other nurseries and seem to be rising. Still always a fun and inspiring experience to shop here though!

Update: One year later, my lemon tree, that had never fruited with its previous parent, has 9 lemons and 30 new flowers! Thank you Swansons for giving my Meyer all the TLC it needed to reach its full fruity potential! Happy New Year! Original review: Swansons has the most amazing nursery staff. Case in point: Pulled in at 9:20 with a dwarf potted lemon tree (gifted to me by an elderly neighbor) in my SUV's back hatch. Stone greeted me as I was walking in, and radioed for "customer help". 25 seconds later, Travis is taking a detailed interest and hands-on look at my tree/shrub in the parking lot (in snow flurries). Travis confirmed my best guesses and directed me to some great care options for the tree. Two minutes inside and $15 of great citrus/fruit tree food and just enough potting soil, Colleen reminded me about spending my Swansons dollars (earn them before November, spend them through December) and about bulbs for indoor forced flowering (cashiers like her guarantee customer loyalty). Just like that, I am off to care for my new flora with a happy heart and an expert plan. Such friendly, caring, knowledgeable and courteous staff are why Swansons gets 5 stars everytime!

Nymira

I'm very inexperienced when it comes to caring for any kind of plant but the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating

Blake Hamilton

I go here way too much! It's massive! It's one of my favorite places to go plant shopping.

Lucia Sanchez

Awesome nursery, they basically have everything. Good with kids. On the pricier side

Eileen Walls

Their staff is very helpful and friendly.

Jill Nelson

Swansons is the best! Never had a plant from there die. That’s saying something!!

Andrew Lingbloom

Swanson's is great: tons of plants, gardening supplies, decor, and a cute, cozy cafe. For the winter holidays, they really go all-out and it's a destination unto itself: the model train display is intricate, cafe drinks are themed, and everything is decked out.

Peter Litwin

Very good quality, however stuff is generally pretty expensive there. Knowledgeable staff.

Hana Hyde

The employees are so sweet and our tree is by far our best tree yet! Thanks Swansons!

Dina D

One of my favorite spots in Seattle - excellent urban nursery, great deals when things are on sale, and a friendly staff.

Erin Peach

Great atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff!

NORMA LUNA

Very nice costumer service Looks really good Organize

Karen Knight

I'm in the process of turning part of my lawn into a rainwise garden and Swanson's is my place! They had a workshop on rainwise gardens, recommended plant lists, and (of course) so many great plants to choose from.

Selena Chu

Friendly and helpful staffs. Pets/kids friendly. Amazing selections of indoor and outdoor plants. Very relaxing experience overall.

Stephanie Tripp

Fun holiday experience. Reindeer and Santa. Fun for the kids.

Joel Niemeyer

Always easy to pick out just the right stuff!

Randy Smith

The nursery is big, has a large and wide selection of plants and supplies. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful along with being polite, professional, courteous, and efficient. The nursery was laid out and set up to support the current social distancing requirements. My wife and I were impressed and had a very good shopping experience. Highly recommend!

Mo O

They have everything you want and need, st the best prices! In fact if your local nursery runs out they will have it. My mom comes up from the Portland area in the fall because nothing is left down there. Don't miss their perrenials sale in September. And don't forget to spend your Swansons Dollars; they never expire. This place is so huge, thank goodness for the country cafe serving up the best farm to table style food. I had the best omellete outside of Paris, France there!

Karen Wong

Beautiful setting, high end assortment with cafe on site.

Terran Wheeling

Wow. Just, wow.

Stef D

Im brand new to the gardening scene and Swanson's has been a huge help in starting my patio garden! Staff is super knowledgeable and offer genuinely helpful advice. Things are a little more expensive than you might pay at a big box store, but it's a local treasure, so to me it's worth it!

Christian De Sousa

Best nursery in the Seattle area? Great quality, great service. The attention to detail is just in another level, from the layout of the plants and flowers to the little cart holders in the parking lot so your cart doesn't roll while you load up your car.

M M

We went today at the fall festival and went there multiples times during holiday festival. Always kid friendly. Parking onsite. Plants look healthy.

David Martin

Great Place to relax as a Gardener I love this place

Christopher Chin

Always a great selection of plants at Swansons Nursery! These days I am particularly grateful for their appointment booking system, it let's you select a browsing time and really keeps the shopping process easy and stress free.

Violetta Baeva

Superior service and a variety of plants, both indoor and outdoor ones. Love my snake plant! Thank you so much for helping me find the right plant!

Sue Foster

Repotted plants. They were efficient as usual.

Brenda J Stratton

Friendly, helpful and a great array of plants to choose from.

Samantha Black

Love how big this place is and how much they have to offer. The down fall is, NONE of their fancy pots have draining holes, also I bought what I thought was a Krimson Queen Hoya but when I got home I googled how to care for this plant properly. Then I noticed it was NOT a Queen it was a Krimson Princess! Tho both plants are beautiful but I was really wanting a Queen and I was highly disappointed ???? I'm extremely salty about this.. I wish they labeled it correctly ???? I would like to add, I live all the way in Shelton Washington and I traveled 2 hours to come and see this place. That makes this whole situation more disappointing.

Charles Gilpin

Love this place! The quality of the plants were superb. Was easy to book my appointment and clear directions when you arrive. The staff was super knowledgeable and delivered stellar customer service. Fair pricing. Highly recommend!

Dennis Galvin

Love Swanson's. Great selection. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Grounds are well kept. Very neighborly vibe. Coffee shop, and bakery items. The clearance items are good to check out in addition to what you came in for -- it's rare I don't pick up a clearance item. For COVID-19, they have implemented a shop by reservation system which works very well. Every single customer I observed was wearing a mask, and was very observant of distance to others -- as opposed to the big box places like Lowe's an Home Depot.

Barbara Porter

Effusive expanse of every plant you might imagine and knowledgable service and advice abound. Senior Thursday's provide a 10% discount to gardeners 55 and over.

Laura Marie Rivera

Great nursery. Extra special for the holidays! Santa, train display, photo ops, and real reindeer!

Amique Hernandez

I love this place. So many beautiful plants and flowers.

Sarah Tuttle

We are always fans of Swansons. The staff are helpful, the plants are great and locally appropriate. And the koi pond is a hidden treasure (by the bathrooms, another great hidden treasure :>)

J Barden

This place is huge and though you might end up paying more for plants here than you would at a place like Home Depot, you can’t beat the experience and the level of service. Big shout out to Elizabeth. She was the only person to ask us if we needed help and when we asked questions she was a great resource. Please give her a raise! It’s fun to look around at the exotic plants. They have such an interesting wide variety of plants. Where else can you get a yuzu tree? Got to watch the koi feeding time, as seen in the video.

Alex Mancillas

Great variety. Friendly staff. Nice cafe so you can enjoy a coffee while strolling around. Spend 3 hrs just looking around and still could have went around. Worth it

purpl8tr

Very upscale place and plants!

Nadine He

This place is pure magic!!!

Dennis Sandstrom

Great nursery, super helpful and friendly staff. During Christmas they have a Santa, trees and an awesome train set up for the kids.

Helen Palumbarit

Staff are helpful and happy. I am always able to find what I need. The place is like a zoo this time of year, but it's run so effeciently that it is still the only place I go to get everything I need for me gardens and yard!!

Gary Kessler

Fun, awesome nursery. Only nursery with fly eating plants!!!

Autumn O'Brien

I love swansons! They’re super close to home and always have a great selection of houseplants. So happy they’re still operating during COVID by appointments and walk ins so I can get my plant fix.

Lawrence Fosnick Davis

Great place. Huge selection with knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Kaivalya Dance

Festive friendly and fun.

Nathaniel Willson

Very inspiring select /collection but prices are high.

Hans Foster

Swansons Nursery is an excellent plant nursery with a huge variety of thousands of plants. Unfortunately it isn't a great place for sellers. My experience started when I called the nursery and was told that I would get a call back from those who may be interested. No such call occurred. As soon as I approached the owner to ask about selling there, he made a number of assumptions about me (such as a lack of a business license) that are pretty far from the truth, and I felt like the general vibe was of "it's a whole big process that you wouldn't know much about". In fact, I have a business license and have been selling sequioas online and in person for a while. He assumed I didn't have any licenses actually, and eventually concluded that he simply was "not interested at this time", which he could have said at the outset instead of coming across as passive aggressive by assuming a lack of experience which I eventually refuted in the conversation. He assumed that sequoias weren't selling well which couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that his two sequoias are getting pretty old, sitting in large pots in the shade in a small corner of the store, pretty much hidden away and likely overpriced. With plenty of other conifers in stock, it seems unlikely to me that the largest tree on earth, fastest growing conifer that has national parks dedicated to it, as well as a relatively confined territory in California while being capable of growing other places - it seems unlikely to me that this tree simply isn't selling well based on demand alone. So yeah, great place for customers, not very welcoming to prospective sellers.

Richie Magpayo

Swansons is a beautiful nursery in Seattle that really decks itself out for the Christmas holiday season. They have a yearly reindeer festival that kids love, a model train/Christmas village set up, a Santa yurt, and an all around festive vibe going on that you better come with your wallets open for all the beautiful stuff you'd be tempted to snap up. A must stop when you have the deep pockets to shop (or just browse if you can keep yourself from spending).

nick T

They are so nice and helpful here. I'm still developing my green thumb and they let me exchange my little tree that didn't survive. They also answered all of my mom's questions.

Robyn Fisher

Great selection. Helpful signage. Quality plants.

Valentina Noto

Of course it’s a great nursery; look at the reviews! But what I really like about Swansons is it’s indoor plant selection. Definitely outshines other popular nurseries in the area. There’s also a great selection of cache pots!

Sage Winters

It's a bit of a drive from where I'm from but I'd say it's worth it; I usually frequent box stores and the one nursery local to me, but I've been looking for some houseplants that none of them unfortunately had. After spotting an alocasia polly in one of the photos here on google I immediately visited...and left with seven other plants, haha! There's so many plants to choose from and look at (they don't glue their air plants either, bless), and many of them were incredibly healthy too. Will definitely be visiting again.

Chelsea Riddle

This place is so much bigger than I anticipated! They have everything you could want and more and the employees are super friendly and helpful. The place is clean and they're doing a great job with social distancing. Make an appointment to make sure you can go when you want. They do take some walk-ins, but only as space allows. Didn't have the chance to try anything from the bakery, but the coffee smelled delicious. Will update when I return.

Peter Schulte

Phone and Internet research for a forsythia -- apparently too late in the season to find them at Lowe's or Home Depot -- led me to Swanson's. What a beautiful place! I want to take my wife and just see what all they have. I had called ahead and learned that they had more than a dozen at half price. When I arrived, the clerk quickly located the person who had spoken with me over the phone. They offered had a nice selection and I obtained a 3-foot forsythia bush for about $15.00. Super! I had been seeing them earlier, smaller ones, in the $40 and $50 range. Thank you Swanson's for a great experience. We are looking forward to a big splash of yellow in our backyard next spring and to future visits to the nursery.

Brittany Neal

Swanson's Nursery is beautiful and large enough that you could make a visit an event. The workers are friendly and awesome, and it's a blast to peruse the incredible selection of plants, pots, and more. There's even a koi pond! I'm in love. Can't wait to go back.

Frank Troth

Beautiful nursery to explore and buy plants and garden accoutrements!

RON TANZI

Been coming to this excellent nursery for 40 years, yet to be disappointed. Excellent selection, staff, and service.

shawn herron

Hands down best customer service and plant selection in Seattle. Great outing for the kids too!

Jam Yoo

Swanson nursery is has really big parking lots and the parking lot is flat to the nursery so its very accessible Barbara D says that even though it hurt when she broke her ankle she was able to easily navigate the nursery and look around for plants and was eager to walk around. There are roughly 4 sections in the nursery. One section is the outdoor shrubs and trees another is outdoor plants for garden bad such as flowers grasses and groundcover and I would say Swanson’s has an amazing section of outdoor plants there is a quarter for sale plantsThat if you are on a budget it would be useful. Space there is a beautiful café space connected to the gift shops and indoor plants. They have beautiful indoor plants but the selection can’t be limited and on the pricier side relative to what is offered inother nurseries in Seattle all very cool. In the winter you can play with real goats. And other really cool stuff I hundred percent recommend the staff as well they are very helpful. The café food is has a lot of vegan options and the coffee is actually pretty decent. The bathroom is very clean and they have a quoit pond. If you shop during the spring and fall time you get Swanson dollars which are coupons you get 10% of your purchase value so you can use like real money at Swanson’s during summer and winter respectively also again very cool. Up to 50% of your purchase it’s a trap you keep coming to buy plants. Dun dun duuun

Eric Harke

Great selection and nice staff. Always around to help.

Radhika Lakshmanan

This place is basically the amusement park of nurseries. I've only been here once but went around in awe staring at the huge variety of plants. They also had tomatoes in mid-April - I'm not sure if that's common, but it was great because we wanted to get them in early.

Robbie Boyd

Love Swanson's. They have a good early spring sale every year in Feb/March. Lots of planters. Nice selection of bare root berry and fruit trees. Really nice staff. Order online/over the phone and curbside pickup is available.

jodi wenn

Love Swanson's! Great, helpful staff. Great selection of plants that are healthy and will last!

Ravi Rao

Amazing selection for all seasons.

Kerry Summers-Valdez

Oh man, I love this place...but I cannot afford to shop here very often! They have EVERYTHING!

jeremy davison

Best nursery in Seattle and they have fun seasonal activities for kids. More than just plants they have a nice gift shop and a tasty Cafe on site and lots of garden supplies.

Katie R

Helpful staff, wide selection, knowledgeable professionals. Plus a cafe with great food, huge koi fish and a little play house outside will entertain the kids. Check the calendar for seminars and kids activities. Sometimes I just take the kids here to play and see the fish!

Tina Pegar

Wonderful year round nursery. Very helpful staff. Came to get a Christmas tree this year and it was stress free and they let you reserve a tree.

Qinwei Wu

Such a beautiful place! Feel so comfortable every time I went there.

Brittney Geleynse (The Witch Princess)

Very helpful staff, helped us find the poppy we were looking for. Swanson bucks are nice, and apparently never expire!

Ry An

Swanson's has excellent quality plants, a large selection, and friendly employees who help you load your car. They're a bit expensive, but have a nice rewards program. They have an indoor nursery as well as a gift shop. Lots of nice pottery too. Highly recommended.

JeTCaR Btw

This is a beautiful garden center with a huge variety of plants and gardening accessories. The only reason for 4 stars is that it tends to be on the expensive side.

Lou Z.

Being a plant lover and new Seattle resident one of the first things I did when I moved here was track down a plant nursery. I found Swansons and it is a very well stocked, nicely laid out place. The selection is great and the staff is helpful and seem to really like their job. My wife and I stop here sometimes to just have a cup of coffee and enjoy the Koi ponds in the warmth of their greenhouse/coffee shop.

G C

Building occupancy was way above their posted restrictions, it was extremely crowded and didn't feel COVID safe. Also the koi ponds were severely overstocked, bordering on animal abuse. The big pond probably had 3x the koi it should, at the given size.

Penny Gray

Great selection of indoor/outdoor plants, helpful employees, good prices

Tom Kennis

Flora-tastic!!!

S Cearley

I love this nursery. Excellent fruit stock. if you don't live in the area, though, gettign here can be a bit of a trial.

Dawid

Should be named plants r us.

Teneret Bye

Such a fantastic selection of plants! We went there for a venus fly trap and left with an assortment of new plants for our porch. Be careful! The staff were all friendly and willing to help with any questions I had, I am a newbie to gardening and they didn't mind helping me! They also have pamphlets and tips on everything at the help desk, and usually someone is there to assist you as well. I will definitly be going back soon!

Don Weydert

Great place. Got some plants that we never had access in the upper Midwest.!!!

Wesley Page

Swanson's ends up with more of my money each month than my landlord. Please send help.

C Yusem-Meyers

Swanson's always has a solution for my garden. And the plants are always in great condition. Good value and service.

Hemanth Pai

They have a nice, expansive collection of plants. Customer service is good. Prices are a little on the expensive side. If you’re buying something in stock, you’ll have a good experience. HOWEVER, if you’re placing an order for something not in stock, expect a lot of frustration and following up. I bought a Dracaena plant from them about a month ago. I wanted 2 of them but they had only 1 on hand. They said they can place an order and get me another me that’s similar in about a week or two. So I bought the one. Two weeks later, no call. So I followed up and the rep told me the shipment was delayed but it will be arriving the following Wednesday and they will call me as soon as it’s in. Two weeks later, no call. So I call again. This time, they say they can’t find my order and that they receive 1000’s of orders. I provide all the information about the plant I want again and I’m told to wait 2 more weeks (and no guarantee about if/when it will arrive). I wish I just didn’t buy the plant in the first place and looked elsewhere. I’ll update this if they actually follow up on their word and get me one but I have no hope. Update: They found a variety of Dracaena that very closely resembles what I had purchased. They let me return the one I had so I can buy two that are identical. Pretty happy now :)

Diana Tchalakova

Great place and variety

Janee McNeil

This place is a plant lover's dream. They have a great variety of indoor and outdoor plants with knowledgeable staff and regularly held events. The cafe actually has pretty good food too

Peter Anderson

Knowledgeable staff and a good selection of vegetable plants, houseplants, and ornamentals all combine to make this a great local nursery.

Jianqiu Shao

Price so expensive! Same heather same size,Home Depot sell $4.98,Flower World sell$6.98, Sky sell 12.99, Swanson sell 17.99!!! Most of Swanson plants are more expensive than other nursery!

Cory Rumsey

I am here to warn citizens of a truth some may not be ready for. A recent review of Swanson's by Antonio Maruccetti detailed the grueling process of becoming a citizen of the esteemed, pristine Swanson's Christmas Village. This is accurate. When I moved to Seattle in the mid 90's, I had no home. As a well-known (even famous in the west) elfin Prince, I knew that it would be difficult to find a neighborhood I truly "fit in" in. In my old neighborhood, children often mocked me, kicked me, poisoned me, beat me... often, attempts on my life were made. This is the price of fame. I heard about the Christmas Village in late October '98, and immediately put in my application to become a full time citizen. As an elf, I assumed I would be a sure fit. I speak Santeese fluently, attend ceremonies weekly, already am well-versed in all of our religion's readings, most notably the Most Famous Pagan Holiday's New Fake Traditionally Christian Teachings... I thought I was an easy candidate. I brushed up and took the citizenship test a month after turning my application in and was denied due to not having a perfect score, and asked to re-test next year. I kid you not, they wanted every question on this 409 point short answer essay exactly correct. Rough! I lived on the streets for another year following this blatant failure, often subjected to the same harsh treatment I was forced to endure in my old neighborhood. I lost my right foot and chipped many teeth in this year. Hopeful for a brighter future, I studied our scriptures daily until it was time for me to take the test again. I did, and was accepted into The Christmas Village. Since then, my life has been what you might call "perfect sensual bliss"... truly! Plants and crystals and love surround me, as well as herbs. I love it here, now. I give this village a 3 star rating because the test should not require a perfect score. That is all!

Anne Ducey

Everyone at swansons is so helpful!! Especially the young black man who often helps me load my purchases. Always asks how my day is going. So friendly and courteous! He's one of the reasons I pay more to go to Swanson's.

Brian Rowe

Just had an amazing affogato with pistachio ice cream at the cafe

Katherine Wijenaike-Bogle

Beautiful grounds with a large range of plants (garden flowers, hedges, shrubs, trees, edible plants, as well as garden tools, decor and houseplants) with incredibly knowledgeable staff.

Rob Reid

Great place kindof out of the way. Off the main road. Nice stuff nice staff . Free parking and lots of plants.

Sean Everett

This place is an extraordinary nursery. Truly outstanding. There's something for everyone at almost every time of year. And the yearly orchid show is a great inclusion.

Maria Stevens

Amazing selection and layout. Loved the bakery! Oh, and decent Pokemon stop, too!????

Lynn Nguyen

Swansons Nursery is one of the larger nurseries in the Seattle area and has an amazing selection of plant varieties not typically at your big box stores. It is a joy to walk around and the employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Antonino Schepis

Great place. They have great selection from flowers to vegetable and fruit. The staff is very friendly and so far very helpfull when i asked about things. They also have tools and decoration. Last visit, we had a lot of stuff and heavy things and we were helped also in arrange them in the car.

wane seru

Cool set up and friendly staff! Was going to stop by for lunch but they only serve coffee and juices.

Philip Seymour

Best selection of plants anywhere! And the team there is on point with knowledge and suggestions!

Grete Martinson

Good selection and beautiful property be prepared to pay a little bit more than other places.

Justin Almeida

Fun, beautiful gardening experience. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They have a wide variety of plants and tools. Plus they are very kid and family friendly. I highly recommend coming to Swanson's over Home Depot or other box stores.

Nick Sheets

Huge nursery with a broad variety of outdoor and indoor plants. A beautiful koy pond as well!

Zach Starsia

Best local place for indoor and outdoor plants! Staff is super nice and very knowledgeable.

Qu Bit

WIDE selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Coy ponds adjacent to a cafe/bakery in a solarium-styled pavillion. Friendly associate named Anne helped me with reviving a wilting African Violet plant. She helped re-plant, refreshed the soil, and shared tips for plant maintenance. Generally professional and helpful. The other store agents seemed equally enthusiastic about their work and communicative with customers. I think the coolest thing about this place is the fact it was created in 1924! Will return, the prices and services are very fair -- type of place I would hang out during my lunch break if it was a little closer. TIPS: On your website, should include inventory of plants and seasonal promotions. Should also include some planter tips in the form of instructional videos to improve ONLINE presence and community.

Rio Rados

Swanson’s Nursery has a wonderful selection of indoor/outdoor seasonal and year round gardening variety including tools and gardening decor. Everything always looks lush and healthy. They also have a knowledgable staff who can answer all your gardening questions. Plus they just LOVE their customers four-legged companions who come to visit their establishment as well. Our cats are always pampurred whenever we visit their beautiful massive koi pond beside their charming cafe with a decent selection of good eats and novelty gift shop to delight anyone who loves unique gifts.

John Kindt

Great selection, wonderful customer service. They even had haskaps!!

Bailey Luder

Such a large selection of plants, and many varieties of each. The staff is helpful and knowledgable. I highly recommend this Nursery to new and experienced gardeners!

Jackie Hayes

This place is amazing , I love shopping here. RECOMMEND!!

Janet Mackie

Always a delight to wander around. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable.

Clay Volz

Great selection of high quality plants but very expensive

Paul Dean

Nice, clean, nursery with plants stretched over multiple zones/areas. It has a coffee/deli bar that's fair. Their koi pond has several monster sized fish. Presently they have photo opportunities with Santa and there are 2 reindeer in a pen. Prices seemed on the high side. However everthing looked well taken care of. So you will be purchasing quality vs. quantity. Located in north Seattle.

Andrew Kenefick

Mine was a poor customer service experience at Swanson’s. I returned a small plant to Swanson’s that I’d received for Christmas but wanted to exchange. Although I had the gift receipt, the Swanson’s cashier, supervisor, and store manager initially refused to give a refund but would give only in-store credit even though there was no suitable exchange plant and I did not want to hold an in-store credit to a very geographically-inconvenient store for me. I was told my refund request was elevated four levels – from cashier to supervisor to manager to controller to the owner (on a Sunday morning?). All for a $44 return! The refund was finally approved.

Christopher Moore

Great selection of plants logically laid out for perusal. Helpful, friendly staff available for recommendations and guidance. Nice system for delivery of potting soil after purchase.

Matthew Shea

Never bring your credit card here or you will spend your entire life savings

Garrett N.

So much to explore and see here! The selection of indoor and outdoor plants, pots, accessories, etc. is unmatched. Dogs are welcome to browse too, and don’t forget to check out the indoor koi pond located next to the barista counter!

ka mcvolks

Fun to visit year round, but especially at the holidays. The train display is always full of little surprises. Oh! And they have nice plants and knowledgeable staff, too.

Kyle Maple - Realtor

Awesome place! It is HUGE! Got some nice houseplants & pots here.

Anthony Rooney

Swanson's blew me away. I'm just starting my foray into flora and after shopping around other locations I'm happy to have ended my search here. I went with a roommate on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and spent three hours browsing and enjoying the variety of plants. This was as much a walk in a beautiful park as it was a shopping trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but what really struck me was the kindness and gentleness of other customers. We were approached several times to ask about plants we'd found on our cart, people were generally conscious of others who were shopping, not blocking pathways, being patient waiting for help, and making friendly conversation. I could say so many good things about the facility itself but it speaks a lot louder to me that they have cultivated (heh) such a lovely customer base. Thanks for the Lemon Tree!

Jeremy Leishman

Good place for plants!

Rona Zevin

Great selection. Pricy but kovely

Desiree

Excellent products. Wide range of planters and flowers.

Andreas Louca

Great place for plants & family fun!

Brian Benzinger

Amazing selection and very knowledgeable staff. Left with more plants than I thought I needed!

Quinn Sommerfeld

Lots of house plants and great planters. Open almost 100 years.

P. Kahn

Wow what a great nursery. Has everything from plants, tools, gifts, coffee shop and more. Pretty upscale and pricey to go along with it, but if you can find everything here. Even if you aren’t in the mood to buy something it’s worth the visit to just walk around and look at everything they have.

Jacob Jawson

The appointment system is nice, and helps with the whole place feeling calmer.

Alex S

Great place to have some coffee inside of shop.

Erika Diaz

Love places that help us shop more earth friendly

Allie Welsh

Swanson's is amazing. So many levels here. Coffee shop, awesome home section, obviously the plants are magical - everything from apple trees that will grow on your deck to cacti for your studio apartment - just everything about this place is happy. I can spend an entire afternoon here. With my dog.

Luisa Forsythe

Came for the Reindeer. They have a yurt with holiday photo OP set ups. My three year old loved looking at the koi inside the cafe where they serve a limited menu of coffee and lunch items.

Shane Long

They got the good green stuff.

Andrew Bowerman

Great staff with that stand behind their plants and products. Great indoor selection love the mission to help with Seattle's goal of planting more trees!

Kathy McAuliffe

The plants are all really healthy at Swanson's!

Brenda Moore

Swanson's nursery never disappoints. Wonderful lemon lavender cake and gift shop ????

Lake Webb

Huge variety of choices for indoor and outdoor plantscaping. The potted garden designs are inspiring. Good place to go if you're looking for that atypical showpiece.

John Searcy

Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful selection of plants. Very nice calming atmosphere.

Sara Fletcher

Dog and family friendly, Swanson's is the ideal. Although it can be busy on the weekends. If you are a serious gardener do yourself a favor and visit during the week when there is more space to navigate and browse.

David McLean

This is amazing. Plants, knowledge, yummy food, and koi!

Helen Margetan

Love this place. Next time i will go alone. Kiss did not want to stay long.

AUSTIN EIR

Amazing variety and helpful staff

Danita Day

Wonderful nursery with cafe and gift shop. Also free gardening classes and many other special events. Highly recommend.

Zack Scherzer

Expensive, but they have anything you could want for indoor/outdoor!

Anthony Marucci

A floral Oasis in the otherwise barren hellscape that is Seattle. I purchased a few plants here for my drivel apartment that is now awash with clean air, fresh scents, and crystal.that proivde healing and focus. My love life has improved because of the greenery/air/crystals and now I get it on the reg, all thanks to Swanson's floral Oasis and Christmas village. Be warned, however, the citizenship application for the christmas village is rife with trickery and baffoonery. Steel your mind and body in order to pass this McCarthy-esque trial.

Incredible selection of plants, staff is very willing and helpful with your queries. Prices are kind of high. Thankfully they took a return on a plant that died within a year's time. But I think their return policy has no time limit anyway. I called when a shrub I bought last April in 2018 started to die and I brought it back in April 2019 and was able to get a store credit. I didn't have my receipt. But thankfully I took a picture of the name tag with the barcode using my smartphone. I was able to show the cashier the photo on my phone so she could look it up and see the exact name and price of the plant. Afterward, I bought another plant with my store credit. I plan to keep shopping here in the future.

Teree C.

New plant parent this year! We had a great time here at Swanson's and left feeling extremely sad that we are moving to the Eastside now. LOL We browsed their great selection of outdoor and indoor plants, left with more than we planned getting. My fiance and I were ecstatic about the plants, pot, and supplies we went home with. Being super new about plant care, I had to ask their staff many questions that were probably the most basic questions you could have asked. They were sooo helpful and patient. The cafe located inside the nursery was delicious! I think it is a genius move that allows customers to have food and coffee among a thousand plants and next to a koi pond. I loved the whole experience and plan to bring my family here next.

Alicia H.

Swansons nursery is a beautiful, plentiful nursery with knowledgeable and friendly staff. I purchased the must have fiddle leaf fig tree and so far so good. It's my first house plant which made me a bit nervous (fiddle leaf fig trees are not cheap!) but I was reassured by the fact that if I feel it's not working out (i.e. I'm killing it) I can bring it back. Thanks Swansons for a great experience!

Brett Worrall

Truly a dying breed: an in-city nursery. Pretty much has it all...wonderful Christmas decorations, bare-root shrubs in winter/spring, veggie starts, helpful staff. Swansons has actually improved over the last few years...so glad the focus remains on the plants.

Kathyrn Lee

The nursery was beautiful and had a large variety of plants. However, many of the smaller indoor plants in 2-4" nursery pots seemed to be overwatered and in slightly less than good/good condition. These smaller plants had leaves that were yellowing and wrinkled. This can be common in large-box stores, but I thought that for the higher price tag, the knowledgeable employees at Swansons would have cared a little more. Despite these first impressions, I found one of my wishlist plants, a monstera andansonii! It was on sale, but when I asked one of the employees about the discount, she said it was because it hadn't sold within a certain period of time and didn't look as good as the others, but that it was healthy. As a new plant mom, I took her word for it and took it home. Two weeks later, I look at the roots and see that the plant had some early signs of root rot. I repotted the plant in bigger pot and added some new soil. Two more weeks passed by and now I see fungus gnats. Lesson learned. Now I inspect both the leaves, soil, and the roots before purchasing any plants.

Raymond Christopher

Of course it’s a great nursery

Jane Cahn

Knowledgeable, helpful staff, & a good selection of high quality plants. Your purchases in the spring earn Swanson's bucks which you can spend on purchases made during July or during the holiday season.

Lynette Chase

Staff so helpful and knowledgeable. There is no pressure to buy. All plants are guaranteed for a year so you don't have to be afraid to try new things

christine ingan

Nursery is super nice and pretty, organize and clean. I love all the flowers.

Jessie Boyer

Really nice variety, but bought 3 plants, 2 turned out to be infested with spider mites before i realized what was going on, and died despite trying to treat them. Luckily I caught it before it spread to my other plants. Would go back for specialty outdoor plants. Will not do indoor plants from them again, especially for the price. Edit - adding a star for the great response from the owner.

Tom Corddry

Very knowledgeable assistance in choosing a tree today. Also, they're doing a good job managing COVID risk mitigation procedures.

Naveen DS

Very helpful people. Helped us with adding soil to our succulent for free. Also, helped us choose the right soil and answer tons of questions we had on taking care of plants! It is very spacious and huge nursery. Easy to maintain social distancing :)

Tiana

Nursery is AMAZING!!!!! Was at Cafe today it is super cute, coffee tastes good but.. baristas not the best kinda ignorant and they are super slow they take more time talking between each other than actually taking care of the customer. Pastries didn’t taste fresh was dry and tasteless.

Noah Guthrie

Wonderful place to grab a fantastic lunch, good coffee, and some gourgeous plants! Things are always being moved around so there is always something new to see!

Michelle Rosenthal

I love Swanson's through all seasons and its FABULOUS collection of plants, flowers, trees, pots, garden items, and home goods, not to mention their lovely indoor cafe and Koi pond.

Karyn Porter

Jammed packed with plants and flower starters, shrubs and trees, etc. It was crazy busy here! This place was so full of flowers and plants, I have never seen it so packed. Now is a great time to get starters and make your garden look nice! Nice gift shop. Cafe was full of people enjoying lunch.

Atria

Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff, excellent selection.

Kyle Smothers

Bought Thyme, Oregano, and Basil from this nursery and two week later a fungus has spread to my existing rosemary and sage that I’ve had for over a year and never had any problems with. Won’t be returning.

Lara Kulikova

one of the best in Seattle! all you might need for your garden

Kerri Adams

I love it! Beautiful plants and flowers. Fab food in cafe abd love love love the gift shop. Ive been coming to Swanson's for 25+years. Loved it as festivities too! !!

Ron Kell

A Full Value Place - Ok, I have visited a number of nurseries this spring since moving to the area, and I found no others with as large a selection of healthy plants. But far and away more importantly, none had as many helpful, knowledgeable staff who can quickly radio for a specialist or second opinion. Their web presence is good with a knowledge base written for the local climate, but the nursery is the place to go for answers. Bring in photos or individual plants and they will do their best to address your issue, want a plant for a specific area but not sure which one, they will walk with and discuss the options and help you pick out a quality selection, need supplies or incidentals - their selections are environmentally friendly and varied. Want to introduce the kids to gardening, I believe they have fun events - my kids are grown so I can only say that the kids I saw were having fun. Their prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of plants they carry, sure you can buy something at the lumber yard or grocery a little cheaper due to their limited selections of forced transplants but shop at this nursery regularly and you will get coupons or sales and far better quality plants. Parking is good, need help loading - they will help, want to browse - you can wander through clean bright handicap accessible buildings and open spaces. Yeah, I like this place, it is a shopping experience that leaves me feeling that I have gotten full value for my money. And from the number of others shopping here, I do not think I am alone in feeling that way.

Mark Parr

Love your plants . My hydranges are doing great.

Sarah W.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Amazing plant selection from landscaping to house plants to gifts to gardening. Great place of you need gifts for someone. The cafe in there is crazy good too. they pretty much have everything you'd ever need planting related.

jessie slothower

This place is big and a little spendy. This place has a huge selection but three times the price as Home Depot. :( but Home Depot doesn’t have as much as this place (not even half)But on the other side if Home Depot has it their Man, what a huge price difference WOW ????! But I’m going to go back to This nursery some plants that Home Depot Doesn’t have Swanson’s nursery has it don’t mind the price difference on flowers But I would avoid buying tomatoes and common fruits and vegetables here if you don’t mind paying the huge price difference. Just stick to plants Now I know what both stores have I know what I want. Shoot, I went back to Home Depot the prices where so low the plants where sold out by the time I got back. Less than 8 hours later!!!!

Lisa Ferrell

All decked out for Christmas with reindeer, Christmas lights, and gorgeous poinsettia

T. Christine

Love this nursery! Luscious, healthy plants that always do well for me. Five-star customer service. They pot my plants of choice in my window box for a nominal potting fee and are happy to assist when I need expert advice. Exceptional gift shop and potting containers.

Michelle Mc

Love all the Japanese maples!!! Great place!!

Chris Elliott

You will find what you are looking for at Swanson's

Hannah Kinne

Really nice with a huge variety. Definitely going back in the spring.

Diane Roubal

I love just walking around and taking in all the beauty of the plants.

Marjorie Livingston

Been using Swansons for years at all seasons, love it, and rely on it. There are always tried and true plants, and often with a new color or aspect. Look for something new to you by specified area like dwarf conifers or butterfly attractors. Look at displays, ask for help. Finish up with lunch or refreshments under the immense indoor trees and explore the gift shop.

Mary Warren

My go to place for gardening questions and I love the selection of plants they sell.

Pauline

Cute place with all kind of plants and kits

Brian Berryessa

Very nice nursery. A little on the pricey side

Josh King

My mother’s home a way from home. Landscape heaven.

charles olson

Always a treat. They do a great job stocking hard to find plants as well as special order some items. Thank you!

Angela Dunsmoor

This is a great place to get plants, and there are currently a lot of Christmas trees for sale right now. You can purchase indoor plants and outdoor plants, and the prices and selection are really good. They do have a reservation system online, so you reserve a time to shop on their website and scan in when you get there. It keeps the store less crowded and it's easy to socially distance there.

Nick Hayes

Big, big, beautiful place. Stunning cafe. A bit pricey but very cool. 2 medium house plants, 2 smallish pots on sale (30,% off) was $110. So just plan accordingly.

julie robb

This might be my favorite nursery in the Seattle area. There's a neverending selection of plants here to choose from!

Steve Hunter

I live not a half mile from Swansons and have gone there on and off for the last 15 years. I initially was attracted by their selection especially compared with the mundane offerings of major box stores. I bought a number of plantings for my landscape that I thought were unique and out of the mainstream paying a premium price for them. In the end I was disappointed as their survival rate was rather grim, about 30% and this was with good care. The stuff I bought at Lowe's and Home Depot did far better, I chanced several more purchases at Swansons but it seemed that every time I went there the prices increased. I went last weekend on Fathers Day, the nursery is certainly impressive with all of the greenhouse additions and green house roofs. Displays are beyond gorgeous. I was shopping for some rose bushes. One in particular I had on my wish list they had but the price was $75.00, for a rose bush, not a money tree. I had priced it online with Heirloom Roses in Oregon $41.00 and free shipping. I have ordered from Heirloom previously and have had great success as their roses are grown from root stock not grafted. Few if any of us have yards with a greenhouse cover, I wonder how well plants raised in an idyllic environment work in our natural settings, wind, rain and cold. Never the less Swanson's is just plain too pricey for this average Joe.

James Lee

So much variety and beautifully arranged!

Larry Byrne

Great nursery with very helpful staff and great inventory.

Anne Kirchner

Everything-and I do mean everything-a gardener needs, and even things you don't. Massive stock on hand, good variety of plants displayed beautifully, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

L. Campos (Travelcat)

Great selection of plants, pots, etc.! Always experience superb customer service. And truly appreciate their military discount.

Nancy Angello

The nursery staff is always top-notch ...ready with up to date information ,honest about what might really grow in conditions you describe and quality plants presented with attractive companion plants. First rate!

Kelly Onarheim

Seanson’s gets a five star rating from me for a few reasons. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and remember it before the awesome remodel. It is always a place I remember fondly and I continue to come here as an adult. The indoor houseplant staff are especially helpful and today I picked up a plant they had set aside for me that I requested back in the summer. They will gladly drill holes in pots for free and are just generally helpful and kind. The bakery staff today unfortunately was very unpleasant. A young girl was counting the cash in the cash register and we waited for several minutes to be acknowledged after knowing she saw us. After waiting several minutes I asked her if she was closed to which she replied, “no, just busy” and then continued counting for a bit longer before walking over to the pastry case and just looked at us. No greeting, just blatantly rudeness. After I bought the pastry she just handed us our change. After enduring her rudeness we still thanked her, and she just turned wordlessly and walked away. I am still standing in the store writing this review because she left such a bad impression. Treating a loyal customer that way is unacceptable and disappointing for a place that I have loved for so long. All other Swanson’s staff have always gone out of their way to be helpful and kind and so her actions, and lack thereof, caught my husband and I off guard. I know it is just one person who behaved in this way, but it could be a reason why I don’t frequent their cafe again which is a shame because the food is great and the atmosphere is even better.

Kathryn Munson

I got great help to find exactly what I needed for a particular place in the garden. A Swanson staff person took me around based on a list I had made online and then added suggestions that would fit the bill -- full sun, drought tolerant once established, no higher than 3 feet, bird attracting. I left with the right plants after only 40 minutes, the last 20 with focused help. I recommend the help part.

David Johnson

Great quality, they take special orders and friendly staff.

Alexander Rittenbach

Well organized, pity they didn't have Chinese ground orchids, not surprised they're rare everywhere.

Juanita Olmstead

The owner was extremely friendly and was very knowledgeable about the spectrum of indoor plants that she sells. I felt confident when I left that my plants would stay alive in my hands. She advised me to call or text her pictures in case my plants got sickly, and invited me to come back in a few weeks to repot them!

Sunny Choi

Great place all year around to look for great selection of plants. It’s perfect during Christmas time to hang out with kids- trains, reindeers, Christmas village- all for free and beautiful setting to just relax. Cafe serves great food and treats!

john shimer

By far the best nursery in the Seattle area! I love it!!!!

Sven Fors

Incredible selection and wonderful, helpful staff. I’ve purchased dozens of indoor plants over the past year. Will always go back to Swansons!

Jacob Manchenego

I loved coming here with my daughter. She loved to explore

Phyllis Knowles

A relaxing lunch with my friend among the trees and plants. A perfect July day.

Charlie Rhea

Great plants, good prices for what you get. Nice healthy plants.

Roberta Gurtowski

Great food at the café. Gifts and indoor plants galore in same building. All around wonderful place to visit for outdoor garden needs but also indoor plants, gifts and lunch. Café closes at 2pm.

Nancy Campbell

My go-to place to buy everything for my garden and houseplants. Beautiful, clean, lots of knowledgable help. Great variety, from exotic and rare to a good year around supply of Pacific NW natives. I drop by about twice a week.

Morgan Buckingham

Staff was very knowledgeable and happy to help. Lots of parking.

Kyle Siverts

Fantastic experience, coffee shop in the back. Everything is so well-maintained and beautiful. Well done!

Robin Michaels

I'll admit I was nervous when I had only one choice each of compost and bark mulch, and had to order it at the register without examining the bags first. But the product was absolutely amazing. Given my limited experience with bark, I thought I had enough to do the area in front of my fence and a swath along the walkway. Turns out I bought enough bark to do the whole yard, because it has five times the coverage of the last stuff I tried. Both bark and compost are fine textured, rich, and smell great. The plants I chose are as gorgeous and fresh today, after delivery and waiting four days for my day off to be transplanted, as they were in the store. If they don't flourish it will be only my inexperienced hamhandedness at fault! Finally, the service I received excellent, from the employees who helped me choose plants, the cashier, and especially the delivery coordinator. I have never taken the time to write a review for any business before (either too lazy or too tech-phobic), and this was a doozy. So you can tell how happy I am.

Sametta Glass

Awesome service and plant arrangements. Steve did an outstanding impromptu edible plant arrangement for me to give as a gift. Beautiful store to browse and shop in.

Carolyn Fox

I have been coming here for more years than I can remember to count. A beautiful nursery with healthy stock and today I discovered there is an excellent lunch spot inside. The food was really fresh, well prepared and delicious. Give it a try on your next visit.

Ann Neville

was back again for the month of May from Ireland. A daily call into Swansons was a must. We visited the Koi Fish first and then a visit to the chickens. Wonderful fun for my grandson Aidan. He lives on Mary Ave. I bought more plants for my daughter's garden and got great fun in planning where to place them. I hope my son-in-law did not mind as I seemed to take over the garden. They have such scope and their garden is beautiful. Was glad to see the cafe was open but disappointed it did not have the same food on offer as before. Still it was nice to sit down and have a coffee and cake. Hope to see you all next time. The staff are just as nice and helpful as ever.

Avery Martin-Chadwick

This is definitely my favorite nursery in the city. The selection is unmatched and the staff are friendly and helpful. While the prices are steep, they are competitive with most plant retailers in the area. I live about 5 miles away and it’s worth the trip every time.

Will Chapman

Best in Seattle. Great staff and great selection.

Guangyu Zhang

This place is a paradise to visit during the pandemic!!

Candy Lane

Wonderful place for gardening needs, family fun and meeting with friends. It is like a garden with a cafe and a very nice gift shop.

R. Routier

Always a nice selection of plants and helpful staff. They are also handling the covid situation well and have made it a comfortable environment to shop in.

Juan Hernandez

A nice place to go in and get a pumpkin. A nice control environment to move around and shop. It didn't take very long to look around and get a pumpkin. In fact, we got 4 of them. You can also shop for plants and anything for your yard. Swanson Nursery is a great place to shop.

Lauren Ring

Shopped at Swanson's many times - this place is the real deal. While you may find cheaper places to buy house plants, in my experience, the plants from Swanson's tend to do so much better and live longer. They have an excellent selection and very helpful staff. Can't recommend this place enough.

Kim Mikkelsen

These folks are seriously AMAZING! I'm an avid gardener and have bought product for several years from Swanson's Nursery. This year for my 60th birthday I purchased a Japanese Katsura Maple that didn't make it (hope that's not a "sign" for the 60th :)) Sent Swanson's the receipt number with an explanation and they did a FULL CREDIT of the cost of the maple. This is customer service (and I do seminar's on same) above and beyond. Yahoo to a great organization!!!!!

Lincoln Ferris

A great variety to choose from and knowledgeable staff.

Elisabeth Knottingham

So helpful to this novice gardener!! Such nice people and a amazing selection.

Jayne

Swanson's is one of the best nurseries in the greater Seattle area! Their restaurant (closed now for covid safety) has great food and a fun setting. There is an awesome selection of plants; they have a helpful, knowledgeable staff, a pretty setting and fun seasonal stuff for children. Very much worth a visit!

LeeAnn Cochran

This nursery is AWESOME! I had an issue with a product and they replaced it and dealt with the manufacturer leaving me out of the fight!! Theresa handled my customer service issue deserving an A+ in customer service! Geoff came and picked up the product and delivered the new product so I didn't have to deal with transporting the items. I will continue to purchase at this nursery knowing they truly care about their customers!!

Bob Stone

Beautiful nursery with a very knowledgeable staff.

Trudi Scheele

Beautiful place to wander and enjoy the plantings. Friendly staff

Ted Morriss

They don't require a reservation any longer and they have a nice selection of plants as always

Steve Lipovsky

Great place! Big variety and a very nice staff.

Samantha Sayers

Spent almost 200 on plants and 2 weeks later they are all dead, expensive succulents turning to rot after just 7 days. Extremely frustrated, not to mention found the exact same live plants at home depot and even ikea for a fraction of the cost. Will not be coming back.

Konstantin Petrov

Wonderful selection, and great service, came in to grab a couple things and ended up spending over an hour here

mirtha kitt

Wonderful place to visit. They have a small cafe with an indoor koi pond and all manner of plants, of course. We found 4 varieties of carnivorous plants. Very cool.

Meredith Radella

Generally very helpful staff. Many varieties of native and ornamental plants. Most all pottery is from China. Don't count on getting into a presentation / talk ... these fill up fast.

Bill Kuropat

Great family experience!

Zenta Jones

Large nursery with a good variety of plants.

Brady Ryan

Finley was super helpful and incredibly knowledgeable. Thanks Finley!

Barbara Long

Love this place. Always beautiful and the greenhouse cafe is magical on a rainy fall day.

Matthew Brewster

Unfortunately I assumed that since I was paying a premium for a new rose that it slipped my mind to inspect it closely, but after having for a couple weeks it’s clear that it was thoroughly infected with rose mosaic virus. I paid cash and don’t have a receipt, but I would suggest trying somewhere else that’s not charging $45 for infected stock. The supplier is Weeks.

Mark Ramsey

They have good supplies for gardening

Mike Krashin

Incredible plants, pots, all beautifully arranged. Looking at everything, not a single person asked if they could or direct me. I accidentally found the one plant I was looking for and approached a staff person who was knowledgeable about the plant bur certainly not friendly. Prices seemed high and I do a lot of plant shopping. Nice to know they have variety and choices but will probably not go back there.

Marian Laughlin

Awesome! Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Beautiful plants

Gandhinath Swaminathan

Best selection of ferns I have ever seen

Charles H

Super helpful/knowledgeable "Information" people. Nice snack/drink area surrounded by greenery.

Elizabeth Dubuque

Angelic Matthews

LOVE this place, regularly drive up and pay Seattle prices for the selection and staff!

Team Haube

This place is always fun to visit and relax while enjoying the plentiful fauna. The staff are always happy to help, whether it be with understanding what plant would be best for you. Or explaining various needs of certain plants. I've never had a bad experience here. And would recommend this place to anyone looking to start or explore their gardening experiences.

Briana S

This place is amazing. If you love plants it's like being a kid in a candy store.

joe mcbride

Super nice place

leslie campbell

Sam helped me pick out the perfect Atlas Cedars for my small city backyard. He spent time listening to exactly what I needed and showed me several options. It was such a fun process for me!They fit in perfectly with all the other plants that I have purchased from Swansons . Jeff delivered the trees on time and put them exactly where I needed. He was gracious and kind. They were heavy for me but it wasn't a problem for him! Swansons always hires the best people and put customer service first. Beautiful plants and people, what a great combination!!

stephen jones

Very nice natural area. Spring and fall are its best times. Sone homeless drunks or sketchy folks lurking. Dont go solo. Nice paths very interesting. Wirth sering.

Kid and dog friendly nursery with a good cafe. Staff is very knowledgeable; immediately put a name to cuttings from two bushes I needed to identify.

Swansons has a nice variety of indoor plants in a few different sizes too! I was impressed with their selection but it was a bit pricey for plants that are harder to find. There was a nice selection of air plants too!
