I give Morello's 41/2 stars. the only complaint that I have is the lack of disabled parking close to the door. In the two months that I have had a sign, I have only been able to access the spots two times. Two spots are not enough. Either my wife or I are in the sore 4 to 5 times a week. Staff great and service is super. I highly recommend this store.

Inhumane treatment of live lobsters. Lobsters are double stacked having to stand on top of each other without any room to move. Very sad and disturbing that Morello's thinks it is ok to treat sentient living creatures this way! Otherwise Indpendent is a great grocery store. I hope they can make changes to keep up with current food species welfare research.

Went for a chicken dinner. At one time best place to get one. Used to be a 1kg chicken (average according to sleeve)and 2 nice sides, now it is a 900g chicken (average according to sleeve) and 1 side with only 3 to choose from for 2 dollars more. And that was just about 2 months apart of getting a chicken there. I won't be back if that is the way Dave wants to do things. Noticed the prices are higher there then anywhere in town. It is called independent grocers not independent gouges

Morello's YIG is everything you expect from an Independent. It's clean, well lit, has a huge selection, and is well stocked. They carry the full selection of PC products. Produce is typically fresh. The butcher often has great deals, and we use these to stock up on freezer meats for stews or roasts. We have never had any issues shopping here - and I don't know what else I could really need out of a grocery store.

Great selection, though pricier than some other stores. There is a butcher, bakery and deli on-site and a good selection of produce. Parking can be crowded. I docked 2 stars because they clutter up the front sidewalk with seasonal items, forcing pedestrians to walk where the cars are driving. Also, the inconsiderate/lazy often park in the no parking zone in front of the plaza, further increasing risk to pedestrian traffic.

Most of my interactions with Morello's have been through the PC Express online curbside pick up system. I occasionally go in when I'm in the area and it's always been clean, orderly and well stocked. Overall it's been great. The people who bring out your groceries have never been surly and are usually pretty chatty which is nice when you don't get out of the house that often. The biggest draw back is when you don't get stuff that you ordered. I don't fault Morello's for that per se, as they don't run the website, but it's something to keep in mind when you're ordering stuff for recipes and you're missing an ingredient.

I have to say that Morello's Independent has been my favorite grocery store since Covid hit. Big enough to have everything you need but small enough to actually find it. Staff members are all wearing masks and using sanatizer as they work. Keep up the great work!

But you cannot price match. They have a lottery centre as well. They are conveniently located near Beavermead campground & park

The person working at the self checkout asked me if I wanted bags, I got two. My wife did not want bags, and she went first to purchase her products. Suddenly the bag boy came up, pushed my wife aside and entered that she was using two bags, muttering “no one pays for their bags”, and strutted away, proud of his boorish behaviour. Shop here every week. The haters post on this sight because they can. Extremely clean store , prices are good . If you buy fruits and vegetables they will last a week or more in your refrigerator. My daughter bought fruit and vegetables from no frills they wete turning bad in 2 days my vegetables were still fresh in a week. Recommend this store to anyone. Haters go away and get a life.

Everytime I go here the fruits and vegetables are always so fresh and always stocked up. They have their own sushi corner and also a hot food section where you can pick up various different cooked ready to eat items. These are very convenient if you are picking uo groceries for the week but do not feel like cooking for the night. Their cold cuts section is wonderful and the staff is knowledgeable of the meats. Their baking section also has an amazing staff and produce wonderful cupcakes, cakes, cheesecakes and more different products. They do have quick staff members on the till and are very respectful. This is a good grocery store for anyone and any range as the prices are also very good.

The produce selection is excellent. Otherwise though, the prices are highly inflated (some of the highest I've seen in town) and you will certainly get a better deal driving a few km down the road to Wal-Mart or Fresh co for everyday items in the grocery isles.

One of my favourite grocery stores in Peterborough. PC points card used here. Also has on-line shoping. Being in the same plaza as an LCBO and Dollarama makes it a great one-stop plaza. Great parking lot with traffic heavy at times but certainly easy to get through.

My favourite place to shop in Peterborough. It's right off Television road. Easy to access from the 115. Quality of fresh foods and meats is very good. I like the PC brands which they also have. Good quality produce in a clean, pleasant environment. Shopping cart rentals are "free!" Even the bathroom is nice. A good selection of gluten free products, some clothing, and a pharmacy. Beautiful fresh cut flowers and plants are often available. The check out staff are plentiful and friendly. Rarely a line up. They also have a popular hot lunch counter, as well as a deli and bakery. The only reason I didn't give this grocery store 5 stars is probably obvious. You pay more for the luxury of shopping here!

Had a really bad experience in the store, first of all I wanna say that the store is really good, we can find anything here. Most of the staffs are helping except one staff and I had a bad experience with her, that’s the reason I am writing this review, and her name is Madison. I was doing grocery purchase for instacart, I asked her when I didt find a product about where can I find the product? And she responded very rudely to me and told me that it’s not her duty to help me out to find the products I have to find it on my own. And she said that it’s Dave’s rule to not help any people who are doing insta cart. How are we supposed to know if the product is out of stock or not when we can’t see the item. It’s the employee duty to help us, when we can’t find a item. It’s my first time having a bad experience from a store doing insta cart, all other stores are really helpful, especially Walmart, cosco, etc. I’m not blaming all the staffs. Only the one I mentioned all others were trying to help us but she was trying stop other staffs. That was really a rude attitude. If Dave see this review please don’t think that we are blaming you or your entire store. Just expressing our feelings. Thanks

The store, cleanliness, and variety of food definitely meet the standard of what is expected of a modern grocery chain, but the owners and staff make this location feel like a family run, community minded business. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. I'm not sure how their regular pricing compares to around town, but the quantity and selection of their mark downs is much better than what I've observed elsewhere. I'm sure this is an effort to reduce waste (and it wins me over because I love a bargain).

Great place to shop, either for ready made or items you need. Quick to open additional registers when the store is busy and by far one of the cleanest in the city. Also like the fact the owner is there if needed and not just left in the hands of others to run. Like any other grocery store, prices may be high for some items when not on sale, so watch for sales and stock up. But has been the first choice to shop since it opened even if I was in the other end of the city.

Expensive prices, you're paying twice as much or a significant mark up compared to most other grocery stores. They discriminate against people who bring in backpacks as per their policy at the time of no reusable bags but how is someone that gets around on a bike as their main transportation supposed to shop at the store? Oh right they can't therefore discriminating against anyone who doesn't drive (I was refused entry merely because of having a backpack on my back, waited in line for 15 minutes just for that). The ironic thing is their staff doesn't respect social distancing and you can often see them clumped together chit chatting with mask not fully covering their face. I recommend shopping else where even if you need to travel an extra 5-10 minutes.

I love the freshness of their produce. The store is clean and ready to access. Inside items are clearly identified and ailes are easy to navigate. If you use walkers, scooters or wheelchair you will able to navigate to get to items. There is plenty of parking as well. If there was any downfall it would be they do not price match.

Friendly and helpful staffs expect one “Madison”. I am really disappointed with her rude service. My friend was doing insta cart grocery delivery and asked for help to find some products, she said that we are not payed to help you guys its Daves store and Daves rule that says any of the staffs are not allowed to help any insta cart shoppers. She was shouting and yelling at me. Moreover she was trying to stop other staff’s from helping me and my friend. Note for DAVE : “Please educate your staff that even we are shopping on insta cart we are also customers... we don’t work in that store to know which products are available or which ones are not available. Staffs are there to help people to find products and clearing there doubts about the products in the store.” Its my first bad experience from a store, feeling so disappointing and frustrating. From this behaviour i will never suggest the store to any of my friends or family members just because of that one staff. I wish this never happen again to any other shoppers. I request you to talk with your employees and advice them to behave good with the customers and people like us who are actually helping the community at the stage of pandemic. Just let them know that we are also customers we are just purchasing in behalf of other customers who can’t shop in store due to the pandemic reasons. Thanks ????????

The day I shopped it seemed that the shelves were not properly filled. Couldn't find some items found others in a couple of places. Seemed they were short on some items. The aisles are not well marked. So squeezing by a display and another's cart is challenging. Don't enjoy being squeezed. It has been my go-to store because of the LCBO. There another grog shops.

Went to get a birthday cake because I always felt they had quality cake there. One had a word I didnt understand and I asked the girl what kind of cake it was. She didnt know either so she asked another lady. This lady said *we dont make the cakes, they just come in like that. They dont come with nutritional information so I have no clue what is in it*. There goes my idea these were quality cakes.... So I went with a different cake. They refused to put a birthday greeting on it..due to covid. I phoned a couple other places and they said that rule applies only for shutdown, it hasn't been a *rule* for months now. So I had to take my cake to a different store and pay extra for a greeting. Last cake i buy there.

Dave Morello and all his staff are amazing! We recently had to cancel plans to travel from a distance to celebrate our mother's birthday. We got in touch with the store to inquire about ordering a cake from their bakery. Well... Not only did we end up with a beautiful amazing creative "Elvis" cake, but Mr. Morello and staff also helped us coordinate Mom's birthday from afar! They helped to put together a birthday package that included two flower bouquets, a balloon, and the cake and had it all ready to go when we sent a neighbor of my mom's to pick it up today! Yes, in the midst of all this chaos and stressful times, this wonderful man and his wonderful crew helped us to give our Senior mother the fabulous milestone birthday she deserved.. in spite of none of us being able to celebrate with her! Our sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation goes out tothis wonderful crew at Independent for going above and beyond to help us out and make a world of difference!! Thank you!! ????????????

Morello's keeps raising prices and reducing selection. At least 10 items I used to buy there are no longer stocked. And $38 for a tub of feta cheese that you can buy same product elsewhere for $22. Hi, I just wanted you to know that my recent shopping experience was filled with people blatantly, ignorantly, and belligerently not following pandemic protocol. I had one women push her way through me in the wrong direction and said “ I don’t care” when advised nicely that she was going in the wrong direction. The check out girl was of no help and totally silent when I nicely mentioned it to her. What’s going on at your store? Do you need help?

Morello's Independent in the WillowCreek Shopping Plaza is a fabulous store. We do not shop anywhere else. Their meat department is always very eye-appealing and we can select the portions geared to our 2-person meals. The produce is always fresh and there is a great selection. Love their deli for quick hot dinner pick ups! The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and quick to help out when asked.

In a Shopping Plaza with some sort of competition around, it can be hard to stand out but I definitely think that this store is doing something unique to stand out of the crowd around them. The environment is clean and comfortable enough to observe social distancing while shopping in a safe area. I also applaud having an attendant at the door who sprays the customer's hands with sanitisers while politely asking if he can get them a disinfected cart. The human touch is noteworthy. While it is not my local, I will strongly recommend this place as a shopping spot for those living in the neighbourhood.

Since moving to the west end your store has become my go to, the store is excellent, always well kept and clean. The staff are amazing, so helpful and respectful ( a staff to be proud of).I have mobility issues and the cart is a god send, the only thing is I feel bad about using it all the time. I go here for my mess when needed and live to shop while I am there as they have great indoor sales from time to time . There is also a dollar store and a sub shop there ....so sausage and egg breakfast sub . Yum yum and there is also a Macdonald's so great one stop shopping area . I stop at Morello's on the way to my cottage in Apsley most of the time. I find the selection is always very good grocery wise. Lots of variety pricing seems reasonable. They have an excellent deli with fresh seafood lobster etc. If I am hungry I pull into here rather than the MacDonalds which is right out front. They have freshly made deli sandwiches hot whole roasted chickens chicken fingers, fried chicken hot meatballs etc. Fresh baked goodd from their own bakery! Significantly better bang for the buck than Mickey Dees! Check it out it is well worth while.

Felt safe going here until the other evening when I had seen a fairly large group of employees standing around the customer service desk with their masks down talking to each other standing very closely. I had to wait for one of them to notice me for a couple minutes. Not one to leave reviews but I feel the owners are good people and will use this feedback to improve so I will feel safer. I suggest monitoring your younger staff more during the evening/night

very rude customer service from the PC express manager. I've been ordering my groceries online for quite some time now. There was an issue with the substitutions and the people at independent not understanding my order. When i arrived five minutes early and called to pick up my grocery order, I had received attitude on the phone stating "yeah yeah, i know who you are. We'll be out after i'm done my break" even though it was 9:00am in the morning. Upon coming out, the customer service was awful and unfriendly. No smile on the face, clearly miserable, and slammed my trunk on my car. Manager of PC express should not work here. I order my groceries online to avoid going into a store and exposing myself to covid. However, if this is how a MANAGER is going to treat someone, especially during a pandemic, what does this say about future workers that are being trained by this person? I pray that someone higher than this woman corrects this matter.

Not where I usually shop. Staff was not as friendly as I expected. I got what I needed right away and went to the self check out. There are signs up saying wait to be told which check out to go to. There was an associate assisting and older gentleman and didn't acknowledge me until he was gone. She simply pointed to one of the open checkouts and said it was clean.

Everything is about 15 to 20% more expensive than competitors pricing. The store is well stocked and meets the requirements of Lablaws corporate standards yet falls short of high end Lablaws Superstores. Sadly it is in the perfect location at the end of the 115, so they can demand a premium.
