Great selection of plants
Beautiful store space, positive energy and a staff that really knows their stuff! Great work guys!
A great little plant boutique. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful! Special plants you can't find elsewhere and beautiful local and assorted pots.
Such a beautiful selection and helpful staff. She answered all my questions -- and then some -- about the cute baby succulents I brought home.
Amazing little plant and workshop place! Beautiful selection of plants. I attended a terrarium workshop and it was so fun! Love my terrarium!
Lovely store to stop into, great and knowledgeable staff and a wonderful selection!
I work in the area and love browsing Verde during my breaks! Although the storefront is small, their curated stock is constantly changing (plants, pots, etc). All of the women that work there are super friendly and eager to help out (informative, cheerful, yet not pushy). I'm excited for the day they open a second location! ????????
Great staff and amazing plants! RIP my bank account...
Beautiful plants and wonderful staff, should recommend
The staff are knowledgeable and are ready to answer any questions you have about the plants. They have a great selection of tropicals with unique foliage - I come in almost every week just to see what's new. (Hint hint, they get new tropicals every Thursday!!)
Verde has been my go to plant shop for years now, and I can’t say enough about my love for the place. Just the loveliest little shop! The plant and product selection are stellar and top quality, and the staff are always friendly and super knowledgeable. Thank you for being so consistently fantastic Verde!
Helpful staff and great looking plants!
The vibe in their shop is very relaxing and pleasing. Visited them once and will definitely come back! Their instagram account is also updated regularly ????????
I love Verde! They are a boutique plant shop located on Osborne and have a beautiful space filled with lush green plants. Verde sells a wide variety of tropical plants and cacti in their store and they can also be ordered online (pick up and delivery offered). They also sell plant accessories and cute decor and books. Currently, they have walk in hours on Saturdays from 12-4 pm and by appointment on Sunday and Monday, due to COVID. I have purchased multiple plants from Verde and have been happy with all of them. They are well taken care of and good quality. Verde gets new shipments of plants on Thursdays and Fridays so watch their Instagram stories to see what’s available! Popular plants go quickly. I will continue to stop here and love the selection and quality of the plants!
Adorable decorative house plants. Prices are nicely compairable. The isn't a ton of variety but they have good choices as their selection.
Always a pleasant time to visit this shop, and staff are always very helpful. There is always a lot to look at. I have bought several plants from here and are all doing really well.
Staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. They helped me pick the perfect airplant and taught me exactly how to care for it. Then went out of their way to answer all my plant related questions. Also I love the store, such a unique selection. You won't find another place like Verde!
Just shopped here and bought 5 beautiful plants! A girl named Hanna helped me and she was a gem! Soooo nice and willing to help with all things plant! We had such a lovely chat and it was a great way to start my weekend !!!
Very helpful to a novice whos experience is only killing plants in the past. Staff were able to point me in the right direction on what plants are good for novices and ask many questions about my lighting/window direction that id never think of.
I would say the overall outlay of the website is user friendly and has a decent variety of mid to high price plants. Customer communication was poor. There is no phone number to the store. Customers are directed to use the email for the store communication. I emailed twice to let them know I would be a day late for pick up of my plant order with a return email; to no response that my email was receieved and same was fine. The physical store location has a cute urban design and a decent varied selection of healthy plants. I didnt feel the retail staff to be overly warm or helpful as I browsed the store prior to pick up. No tips re plant care for my plants was offered.
I bought a plant and a pot at your store today thinking you still had 15% off but I was happy with what I bought so I didn’t mind paying for the full price of $39.20 ($10 for daisy plant and $25 for the pot + taxes). I was with my boyfriend going there and I had been asking him to bring me to your store for a while now. He is a fan of bigger stores like Lacoste so it took a lot of convincing to have him go to your store with me. I kept telling him to support small businesses too. Our visit to the store went well and he even posted a story of your store in his instagram with 14.5k followers and people have been messaging him where that place is. When we got home, he asked how much I paid and I told him the price. He said I got ripped off because the pot is way too expensive; said how can the pot be 2.5 times more expensive than the plant? Then he looked online for the same exact pot and found it on Indigo for $16 and Etsy at $13.25. This makes me think that your place isn’t authentic and just buying stuff from other stores and reselling them at outrageous prices. If the price was really $25 then I won’t mind paying it thinking it was an original item from your store. Please correct me if I am wrong as I would like to hear your side, try to understand and advise my boyfriend before he starts telling people not to go to your place. I was initially happy going to your store but now I am just disappointed. Owner’s response: Hi Nadisha, I will try to address your concerns here. Our sale was specifically Wednesday--which was stated on our Instagram story, sorry you missed it! We unfortunately cannot compete with a store like Indigo as they are a multi billion company able to purchase products for major volume discounts. Our customers don't frequent our store for bargain pricing. We are a boutique specialty shop curating a choice in pots, quality plants, with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Buyer beware when purchasing from online vendors. A closer look and you will notice that the low advertised price on sites like etsy is often compensated with high shipping costs--a minimum cost of $28.18 on etsy, $8.05 on Indigo--both of which end up as over $25 total. Plus duties and gst. You can let your boyfriend know that the pot will be more expensive on both of those sites than at our shop. We have already paid up front for the shipping from our wholesaler. Plus you can see and feel the pots in person, knowing what you are getting for your money. Stores like etsy do not support staff in a community--they drop-ship out of warehouses in different cities and countries. They do not donate to local charities and support mental health in their community. But they have a lower posted price that your boyfriend googled. You can also let your boyfriend know that pots cost more than plants most of the time because they are heavier, cost more in labour to make and cost more to ship. We hope you find this information helpful. It's unfortunate to get unwarranted emails threatening bad publicity and issuing accusations about our authenticity and integrity when we work hard day in day out to do our best for you, our customers. We want to delight our customers and make their experience great! You are welcome to return the pot for a full refund. My response: Thank you for the detailed explanation I really appreciate that and now I have better understanding of why it is priced that way but I don’t appreciate you saying “unwarranted emails threatening bad publicity and issuing accusations about our authenticity and integrity” when I am raising out my concern and actually trying to understand the price difference and just mainly telling you what can possibly happen as I was trying to prevent it. I would very much like to return the pot but I don’t have the time and would rather not spend so much effort doing that. I will just forget about it and not go to your store again for future purchases nor recommend it to anyone. So much for supporting small business when you answer inquiries/complaints this way but thank you for your time.
Very friendly staff, definitely our main place for plants!
Beautiful shop with amazing people. Def recommend a visit here!
Beautiful little shop. The ladies working were suuuper helpful and knowledgeable, and there plant selection was awesome!
Poor customer service in the setting of a shop that does not stand by their products. Purchased a Bonsai Plantar, followed the instructions and no propagation. When I went back to Verde to explain to Zoe, no apologies were given and was subsequently interrogated about the exact circumstances of how it was planted. They then subsequently argued with me insinuating it was my inability to follow the instructions that was the problem. While I understand that the nature of plants and live products is that they sometimes do not work or grow as expected; the unprofessional, rude and disrespectful nature of their comments speak to poor service and disregard for customer care. Compounded by an atrocious return policy of "7 days ... for other non-living products" makes this a difficult store to recommend.
Cute little plants in a simple yet beautiful shop with amazing decorative pottery and terrariums!
Love this place! The location is great and the interior setup is beautifully arranged. Absolutely wonderful staff, always smiling and very helpful. I have bought many plants here, I also love the various choices of accessories they carry. Very reasonable pricing as well. The atmosphere of the store is just very welcoming and that's why I will always go back.
They are soo friendly and very knowledgeable. Almost all of my plants were purchased there. I will definately purchase again. If you can, give this place a visit.
Knowledgable and helpful. Very succulent experience.
They have an awesome selection of plants and they seem to have new items coming in often. The prices are affordable and the central location is easy to get to. Love this place!
I ordered online from them and all my little plants were wonderful. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 as I tried to visit them a few weeks ago and even though their website and Google info page made no indication they were closed, they were closed, so I had driven quite far to go visit them, which is very annoying. I had tried to call before coming (since it was a federal holiday, so I was trying to figure out if they were open) but couldn't find any contact info. I hope by reading this they might take more care to update on google or their website when they are closed, or include a phone number so someone could call and find out. My apologies if this info is already there, but I spent a good amount of time looking and couldn't find it.
Super helpful staff!
Love this little shop. Very friendly and helpful staff. They always make sure you know what to do to care for the plants. One of my fave places to shop.
I just purchased a calathea white fusion today from the online shop. I looked at it In the shop and it didn’t seem too healthy but I thought it was because it was squished in the paper bag with my 3 other plants. When I got home and took it out, it was very wilted with lots of brown leaves. Very disappointed, was very excited to get this plant. The other 3 are fine and are 5 stars. This is just for the white fusion.
Nice little shop for ornamental plants lovers. I just love their store decoration. A bigger store will be nice though.
Definitely one of my absolute favourite plant stores in Winnipeg! Amazing plants, pots, as well as cute little accessories! I have purchased 20+ plants from Verde and have never been disappointed. The customer service is also really great and I love going there to even just chat with the staff!
They provide excellent service and great selection of plants. I had a plant not do very well and they replaced it no questions asked. They are complaint with the current COVID restrictions within the province. Great place to visit!
They have a great selection of plants and everyone is super friendly and knowledgeable! I've picked up a lot of plants from them already, and they are very healthy and hardy.
Easily some of the worst customer service I have received, consistently. Staff seem frustrated and annoyed with questions and the plant knowledge is dismal. The environment is pretentious and unhelpful at best. So unfortunate as I was so excited to have a downtown plant shop.
Beautiful place! Every corner of this shop is picture-worthy. So far, I think this is the most aesthetically pleasing shop I've been to in Winnipeg. It's a small shop, but the plant selection is decent. The pricing is a bit pricey compared to the other plant shops, but I like the convenience of being able to shop on their online shop. The place was tidy and organized, which made shopping for plants easier. I also love how they have a "Points" system!
I love the uniqueness of the shop! Great for plant lovers everywhere. Beautiful designs and colours.
Although I haven’t had the chance to visit the shop in person I just received my monstera adansonii from them via delivery. I’m very happy with my purchase & the customer service. I had some concerns but they were quick to answer me via email & reassure me. I will definitely be purchasing more from them & hopefully get to visit their shop soon :)
I love this store if I could buy everything I would. They have so many plants to choose from and they're clearly taken care of in the store. Everyone was so helpful I cant wait to go back and get more plants and pots
Love this shop! The plants are beautiful and the people working are always so helpful and friendly!
Awesome little shop! Great atmosphere as well as excellent and helpful staff!!
Staff was suuuuper kind and easy to talk to. The selection seemed good, and they clearly put in the effort to keep their plants healthy and well maintained. I know very little about house plants so to me they seemed knowledgeable but I can't really speak to that with confidence. I recommend following their instagram so you can find out when they get new plants in because their selection varies depending on how long it has been since their last shipment.
I am not happy with my purchase, and I've found no way to give them a call for them to fix it. Plus, looking online, it looks like they are out of stock.. I bought a bonsai, and the tree is practically dead, most branches are dried to a crisp to the point of where I can't even touch the twigs without them breaking off. This was supposed to be a Christmas present, but how do you give someone something that's pretty much dead. Before I'm discredited that I probably don't know what's alive, or dead on a bonsai, I do own two other bonsai plants. For such a small plant shop, you would think they could take better care of their plants. To be able to sell a plant at $50 in this shape, is quite distasteful. It's quite sad as I had very high hopes for this shop. It'll be a "Holiday miracle" if I can bring this guy back to life before I'm supposed to present it.
Attended a workshop it was so much fun! Will definitely attend another. Learned a lot about succulents and happy to say ever since then I was able to keep these beautiful plants alive! Haha. The shop is gorgeous, the ladies are so helpful and has a lot of beautiful plants, a must visit!
Amazing walked out with 6 plants. The peeps there were so friendly and full of knowledge. I learned so much with just one visit. I bought a money try a while back and he's doing great !
-No email confirmation of my order even though the money was taken from my account. -No phone number to contact anyone. -Instagram doesn't allow messaging so I wasn't able to contact anyone to get a confirmation. I'm very frustrated with the lack of communication available.
Hello! I’m reaching out because, quite frankly your business practice of having online orders pull from the same stock as your sales floor inventory is bad customer service and quite frankly dumb. You should always have at least one reserved for the sales floor. Someone casually walking by is also a customer and not just those behind computer screens.
Verde Plant design is a lovely, peaceful oasis in downtown Winnipeg. And they have lovely peacemaking plants to buy! The first time i visited, I bought a fern and a prayer plant (see? I told you it's peacemaking!) that are still thriving months later, despite my inexpert care. I drop in often and bring my plant loving friends with me!
Never been in the store physically but I’ve received a couple of beautiful houseplants and pots from friends. Looking forward to visiting the store and appreciating the plants as well as the staff (I’ve heard they’re really awesome!) Update: Took one star off as I finally went into the store to purchase some plants. The store is aesthetically pleasing, however the staff on didn’t even make any interaction with me asking if I needed help choosing a plant despite the fact that I was the only one in the store and it was ~1100 not the end of the day.... lol. Generally I wouldn’t be writing a review simply based on customer interaction but there’s so much hype and I guess I was somewhat expecting too much. Wasn’t expecting them to hover around me but the least you could do is ‘offer assistance’. Anyway, I personally will not be visiting the store in person again.
The shop is welcoming, and the ambiance calming. The displayes of the various plants and other accessories was quite charming. Will give an update review when I plan to visit again in the summer. As I hope they would have more variates of unique plants.
super cute plants!
Really cute little plant shop. They carry a decent variety of airplants, some of which I have never seen at any of the greenhouses. Highly recommend!
Wonderful service
Nice selection and knowledgeable staff.
I felt uncomfortable there. I wanted to look at stuff but didnt feel welcome. The girls a didnt seem too helpful.
Wonderful shop, friendly staff and great selection of plants, pots and other items to make your terrariums a one of a kind work of art!!!!
It's a nice place, with a great variety of plants. Would be nice of there was a bigger choice of planters. And the prices for some items are higher than in other places
I've bought several plants/pots from Verde and have always had a positive experience! The staff are knowledgeable and the plants are good quality. They have a great select of cute pots and lots of plant care information on their website!
The first time I visited Verde was at the Crocus building location. I had followed them on Instagram and I thought their workshops and planters were extremely creative. I fell absolutely in love with the atmosphere and friendly and knowledgeable staff. This store is exactly what Winnipeg needs.
For a plant lover this must be some sort of nirvana. They’ve moved from their old location on Graham to a much larger space which is overflowing with green goodness. Staff are knowledgeable plant lovers.
Terrific staff and beautifully curated. I had the privilege of attending school in the Crocus building - and for a while, back when they were a wee little pop up shop, I would pop in and just browse. I finally decided to buy a succulent and was given very helpful, consise information for its care. Very pleased, overall. Highly recommended; succulents make for great gifts.
Bought quite a few lovely plants. Really nice selection of plants, pots and growing accessories.
I had a wonderful experience at one of their terrarium workshops. Enjoyed myself and made a beautiful terrarium. I highly recommend the store and their workshops!
Very nice plants but a little over priced due to being downtown. Still worth it for the convenience.
Very cool terrariums and good selection of plants. Plus, the plant wall at Thom Bargen is amazing!
I went to one of the workshops at verde and it was beyond expectations! Beautiful shop with reasonable prices for the quality and expertise that comes with it. Definitely made a supporter out of me!!
Beautiful little oasis for ant prospective gardener in the heart of downtown. The shop is small, but well laid out. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting if you're trying to figure out the right plant for your office or apartment.
Verde sold a $200 plant to my boyfriend who doesn't know much about plants and wanted to surprise me. The tree had a lot of big brown spots on it, I cut off 5 unhealthy leaves just upon receiving it, the brown spots continued to spread within the first week. Verde lost communication with me after I complained about it's poor health, even though I was trying to work with them. Upon research, this plant had a bacterial infection which is very hard to treat and to overcome once it has been infected to the point that this tree was. For a high end plant shop, they should have been taking better care of this tree, and should have been more knowledgeable/transparent with my boyfriend. Not to mention the leaves had a layer of dust on them when it was delivered. Highly recommend going to Shelmerdines as they have a return policy.
One star for the amount of plants that I bought from there that had developing root rot and had a lot of damaged leaves. One thing more, before you guys buy from them, do the price compare. Go around and check others stores. You guys could definitely find cheaper ones with healthy, good root system.
Ordered some plants online and received them the next day. Plants are nice and healthy. Highly recommend this place
The owner is extremely knowledgeable. Eager to answer any questions you may have. Beautiful store.
I absolutely love this store and all the plants that are in it. They have plans for every need beginner to expert such a great store.
Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Every time I have stopped in I have found something I had to get. Great shop!
They have very good selection of plants and for a good price as well. I bought one of my terrariums in here and really love it. They also organized workshop, which are awesome and and very helpful (I attended one of the succulent workshop at the WAG and I had fun making them and meeting new people). If you don't like any of their display in the shop, you can always ask for a customize one and they'll be happy to make it for you. They are very friendly and helpful. Not to mention that their shop design and atmosphere is amazing. If you are looking for a plant for your house or work and are locally grown and made, this is the place!
My favourite shop! Walking into Verde always makes me happy; from the incredibly friendly staff to the amazing display of greenery. It instantly brightens my day. Plants really do make you happy!! I’ve never had anything but an amazing experience. Hands down the only place I will ever get my plants from! In the past I’ve had bad experiences with larger greenhouses selling me plants that are diseased and never survive longer than a few weeks. I have a strong appreciation for the fact that Verde takes special care to inspect every single plant and sell only the best of quality so that I can be sure I’m bringing something happy and healthy into my home, every single time! I can’t help but come back for more. Huge bonus that shopping here helps me support local businesses.
Great selection, wonderful workshops, beautiful space.
extremely overpriced plants, rude staff, on a sketchy street
Very cute and stuff but there are better prices elsewhere
Verde is a lovely local shop with knowledgeable staff and beautiful plants. I have also attended workshops in the past and had a great time. As other reviews noted the prices are not the lowest in the city but I think the high quality plants and customer experience makes it worth it!
Love it here. I've never went in and haven't bought something. My first stop for new plants.
What a wonderful place to get plants and great service will be shopping there again soon
Really beautiful atmosphere. I love going to the shop after a stressful few days to get some positive vibes from the plants, and staff.
Amazing shop with so many cute plants, Staff are super friendly and really knowledgable. Love the decor too,
Incredible staff who go out of their way to help you best care for your plants. I have found the plants I buy from Verde always thrive ????
One of my favourite place to shop for anything plant related! Beautiful space, lots of selection, staff are great, and an awesome place for workshops!
I love this place, its so adorable! And their plants are AMAZING!! so far everything I've ordered from there has been beautiful and their curbside pickup is so fast and easy!!
This is my absolute favourite place to get houseplants from! The staff are so friendly and helpful, it’s a very welcoming environment. All the plants I have gotten from here have done well, no issues. I love their selection of pots, so many different varieties, colours, and designs. I also love their variety of plants. Also they have a rewards program which is awesome so you can earn rewards to get money off of future purchases. Would definitely recommend checking them out, great place to support if you are wanting to support local!
I was in the shop on Tuesday for a macrame workshop with a friend. If you haven't been to one of their workshops yet, I highly recommend! It was great getting to learn a new skill in such a fun environment.
A very cool chic shop located right outside Hudson's Bay downtown. It has a lot of great terrarium supplies, plants and accessories. The décor is pretty neat too and gave us lots of ideas. Customer service is great and they are very patient. We have bought a lot of stuff here and plan to go back!
I was very pleased with my service and their Covid policies. The staff is very informed and made my child’s experience choosing their first plant very enjoyable. They only allow 6 people at a time currently, which is great for Covid—you’re very easily able to socially distance. The staff was also on top of client numbers and followed this protocol. Cute shop.
Walking into this shop you instantly smile and your eyes start shopping. But how can one decide. The friendly staff will go out of their way to help. A true find for plant lovers.
I love Verde! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and so helpful. The selection of plants is amazing and they have fair pricing. The shop on Osborne is always a fun experience, whether it’s buying plants and pots or just browsing around. I recommend Verde to everyone, from plant beginners to those who are more experienced and looking to expand their collection :)
Such a beautiful shop. Quality plants at decent prices. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.
My friend got so much help from the staff here, setting her up with her own terrarium. Very impressed by them and the atmosphere at the store!
This is an awesome local business. The plants are great and while it is a bit more pricey the quality shows. Love their plant accessories and decor. Their customer service is also prompt and consistent. 10/10 would recommend.
The staff is always extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The store will often encourage you to email them with pictures and questions and respond promptly when you do. Lots of variety and potting size options available with cute home decor options as well.
Wonderful shop! A really great friend got me a terrarium from this shop for my birthday and ever since then I'm hooked ????!! Super friendly staff & they taught me everything I needed to know about taking care of my succulents and air plants! They have great selection of plants as well so I always make sure to stop by Verde quite often. This is the only place I go to when it comes to plant shopping ????
My absolute favourite place for plants. Such an interesting spectrum, so many air plants, and great planters. The staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. This place always brightens my day.
This is what the WORLD needs. Winnipeg....you are a lucky city
I want to give a lower star rating but I also for some reason want to give verde a chance. I've only done curbside pickup with them. The service itself is done well. However I have some issues. I have not been into the store due to covid and I am definitely the kind of person who would prefer to see what I'm buying before I, well, buy it. Buying plants online can be risky and tricky. All of the plants I have purchased (5 plants total in the past 9 months, two separate orders) have been WAY smaller than I've expected them to be. I thought I had reasonable expectations but I guess I need to lower them. I'm starting to wonder how they price things...if they stick a plant that could fit in a 2.5" pot into a 4" pot they sell it for the 4" price. The pricing just seems arbitrary to me. The plants themselves seem to be healthy, the two I purchased earlier in the year are flourishing. We will see how well the three I recently bought will do. Two of them have new growth and one of them is a little bleh looking. All of the plants I purchased the other day were over watered which is concerning, considering one is a succulent (that was in a 4" pot but I transplanted into a much smaller one because that was the appropriate size for said plant). Definitely have mixed feelings on verde. I'd say proceed with caution and limit your expectations if you're doing curbside. It's one thing if you can go in and see what you get for your money. Overall I'd say things are overpriced but the plants themselves seem to be healthy enough.
Warm welcoming knowledgeable staff that are happy to help. Attended a Terranium workshop and created my unique masterpiece that I love. Was introduced to "air plants" while in the shop and am now loving them. Very thankful my friend introduced me to Verde Plant Design. I would recommend anyone that has a passion for plants to visit.
I haven't been in the store because of covid, so I did a pick up. Quick and efficient. But most importantly the plants are healthy and vibrant. Great value and amazing selection.
I've taken a couple of workshops offered through Verde Terrariums (watercolour painting & bouquet arranging; building terrariums) and LOVED them. As someone who is very new to the world of succulents, air plants and the like, they're extremely knowledgeable and I love the wide range of unique products they have for sale. Highly recommend if you're into kitschy, fun home accessories and the world of plants!
The perfect place to pick up a gift that anyone - even those hard to buy for - would absolutely love! The shop is super cute and the staff are helpful. They deliver now too! :)
She's alright
This is the most beautiful shop with such friendly & helpful staff. Lots of tropicals and succulents to choose form plus really nice selection of pots. Recommend if you are getting into plants!
The people are so nice and it was so great and I really loved my experience here
My favourite place in the city for house plants. The staff is very knowledgeable. They get unique plants in stock which is awesome. And I've been to one of their workshops (houseplants 101) which was super informative and helps me keep my plants alive :)
Beautiful store with unique rare house plants that are 100% brag worthy. The staff are always extremely knowledgeable and happy to help. I love every plant I've had the pleasure of buying from Verde!
Responded quickly to my inquiries and were very friendly.
As someone who has a botanist for a sister, and who loves plants myself... Verde is absolutely taking advantage of being a "local" business with their prices. They have a cool store but you can buy the same plant in similar condition anywhere for at least half the price. For example 2 basic succulents, and a basic cactus cost $60. Where at lowes the total would have been around 15-25 for the same plants. Now saying that, it's a very cool experience, and I do believe that factors into their price and I def recommend sending someone who is new into keeping plants there to get info and maybe buy their first plant (or just get free info a buy elsewhere cheaper) but for someone who is in the hobby and wants a variety of different plants without murdering your wallet I would go elsewhere. So if you're someone who is okay with being price gouged because "local" or if you are new and want a very cool experience to get you into the hobby then I def recommend verde once. Otherwise if your just looking for cheap succulents I would just recommend lowes, home depot, or other home and garden places. After response from the business: I put local in quotations because you also have a location in Vancouver which you advertise on your website. So verde has a local option in more than one city, so it is not just strictly local to Winnipeg. I had stated the experience shopping there is 100% in your price (which includes how you pay your employees). For an experienced buyer you can acquire these plants for cheaper elsewhere in similar shape and size. These plants aren't something you consume in 10 mins so comparing it to mcdonald's vs nuburger lacks insight and thought. I understand how big corporations work, and that's why I say if your a first buyer and want to get into botany then they should 100% go to verde first, if that's for information or to buy something it gets them INTO YOUR STORE. it's up to your staff and store at that point to make the sale an get returning customers which your store failed miserably to do for me after spending $60 on three plants. You offer absolutely nothing different other than information/experience at a gouging price for the same products and plants you could find in even other local businesses in Winnipeg (Insert any winnipeg greenhouse here). You are selling an experience which is cheap to produce and can easily be found at other places for a cheaper price with cheap products to produce/reproduce. Winnipeg is a working class city who are full of generally frugal people who like to know what they get for their money. This review is to show that the only difference between you and other stores is "local", over priced items, and an over priced experience. Also your response has just shown how defensive you get when someone actually challenges your product vs price shows how much truth is in this review otherwise you'd just disregard it.
Healthy plants. Great variety. Lovely set up.
I went to Verde for the first time today hoping to find a Burro’s tail (I’ve looked so many places!). Not only did they have one, but the service I received was AMAZING. One of my plants (which I did not purchase here) wasn’t doing too great. I’ve consulted other plant places and online, but could not figure it out. The woman working today was able to not only figure out what was wrong but also suggest ways of fixing her. Turns out my panda plant had mealy bugs!! Lastly, the set up was beautifully done and my experience was top notch (largely due to the woman helping me out!) from beginning to end. Literally my new favourite place!
The staff are very knowledgeable. Very pleasant experience!
Lovely variety of plants
There's a few staff working there. Some are more helpful than others. Nevertheless , it's great to have a this in the heart of downtown! It makes gift giving so much easier for the people who work downtown!
Fabulous place! I attended the macrame workshop the other evening with a girlfriend of mine and we had a terrific time. Charming atmosphere and space filled with beautiful plants and knowledgeable, friendly staff. Can't wait for the next workshop!
I've been buying plants here for many years now and though they are a bit pricey I find the quality of plants to be wonderful. I've had a few issues with a handful of air plants that have moulded and died shortly after purchase, while I hadn't watered them or given them any additional care a few days after purchase. This was very disappointing and expensive, the staff offered no assistance with this and had assumed I had mistreated the plants. This was not an enjoyable experience and it happened more than once and it was shocking, honestly. So be careful when selecting plants -- you may be on the hook for their over watering or bad plant weeding. Lovely location and good plant selection. I do enjoy their fun plany pots and variety of both plants and containers, in addition to these the selection of housewares is excellent: puzzles, plant accessories, books, fantastic cards. I do enjoy browsing through here. Verde also has a points program offering a discount of future purchases when you reach specific point tiers. Overall I really do enjoy this store
Such an adorable, unique space with a great variety of plants and the most knowledgable, helpful, and friendly staff!
This shop is beautiful and with such a fabulous selection for home and gifts. It's a highlight in downtown Winnipeg. And the staff are so kind and helpful!
Super helpful staff, lots of cute stuff. A good visit for novice and intermediate plant owners alike.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I am a loyal customer and love to visit the shop whenever I have the chance. I've been a regular customer since their Graham days and I've always had a pleasant experience shopping at Verde. The atmosphere, aesthetic, and the staff are always so kind and knowledgeable. Prices are fair and they always have a beautiful selection of plants, pots, accessories, and other kitsch things! Verde will always be my #1 favourite plant shop in all of Winnipeg. ❤
Stumbled upon this place shortly after it opened on Osborne! Freaking love it ! Make a trip down a few times a month just to pick up something new! Love their point system and the staff there is always so friendly and knowledgeable I always leave with so many new tips on plant care #plantcommunity
This is a beautiful little shop with a great selection of plants, pots and gifts. We are not the most knowledgeable when it comes to plants, so we explained our level of plant-experience and what we were looking for to the staff, and they helped us pick out something suitable to our needs. This was months ago, and the plant is still going strong - so I'd say that we got some solid advice!
