Customer service is non-existant. I placed and paid for an order in December and was told they would call me within 7-10 days when it arrived. I called in 14 days and was put on hold for 20 minutes then told it was on the way and should be there within a week and they would call me. Repeat again....repeat again except this time they said that another store had one and they would have it shipped immediately and would call me promising that it would arrive within a week. No phone call so today - 10 days later - I call and no one knows anything about it. They will call me back! Yeah, right!

Lee Valley has always been a place where people with hobbies could shop and find great tools and interesting new things. The associate that helped my husband had great knowledge in many different hobbies like woodworking and leather working which is what we were in to look at. He made excellent recommendations and found us exactly what we'd come in for. I'd recommend anyone who is less Seasoned in some of the hobbies they are looking to pursue come in and talk with an associate. They give really great advice.

Tried to pick up some shelving accessories only to discover that they had almost no stock locally despite a large demo area on the floor. Shipping from Vancouver could be a week or two, and they wouldn't ship it to my house (have to pick it up in store). I could understand if they were short a few dozen random accessories, but only having a couple of wall standards and shelving brackets??... That's the backbone of the system and they take up almost no room in the stockroom.

On a trip from Edmonton, I got an email about a ridiculously low price on a special limited supply of directional LED lights at Lee Valley. I used the app to pre-order what I wanted and stopped in the next day to pick them up, which was great as they had sold out earlier that morning. The store is the usual organized & clean Lee Valley and Rob was very helpful with regards to sharpening tools. Gotta love Lee Valley no matter where it is.

Finally got a chance to shop at the new Lee Valley in Kelowna. I've been a member for at least 20 years, mostly shopping via catalog, but had not had a chance to go in person recently as the closest store to me was Vancouver. I was very happy to see that Lee Valley has expanded their locations! I just happened to be driving past Orchard Park Mall when I saw that familiar Yellow Tree Emblem that I know so well. Of course I couldn't resist a stop. Besides, who doesn't have time to browse? I went in the store, meandered about for a time and emerged victorious with my find. This time it was a water pressure gauge for my garden hose, although I did have my eye on some new hand shears - maybe next time. Seems like they've streamlined things a bit at this location. The service was quick, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I didn't have to drive all the way to Vancouver. Loved the convenience. Now for some, this kind of shopping experience might feel a bit unfamiliar, but really there's nothing to it. Here's what you do: 1) grab a clipboard/order form when you first walk in - you'll want this to record all of the items you're drooling over 2) Browse all of the floor items, but remember that most of these are display only - you can't just take them to the register 3) Write down the item numbers of anything you wish to purchase on your order sheet 5) Next, grab a number from the machine near the order counter 6) Now wait til you're called and then go up and order your items 7) Once your order is retrieved go to the cashier to pay Oh and if this is your first time you will also need to sign up as a member. But don't worry - this also gives you access to the catalogs as they come out each season. More items to drool over... Thanks guys - I will be back
