We purchased closet doors that we have previous experience with . The hardware was different for door assembly so my husband thought there was a mistake from the manufacturer . When he took the hardware back to Rona, he had to deal with a young guy named Tom in the lumber department . He has had interactions with is young man before and it has never been pleasant. What is upsetting is Tom was very condescending . He said “ I would explain it to you but you wouldn’t understand” to my husband who was a contractor for years . That is disrespectful coming from a young person who , along with others in that department , never offer to help older folks get doors onto their carts or offer any assistance . They prefer to stand at their station and chat amongst themselves . We don’t like Home Depot but we certainly won’t shop at Rona again . Wish there was a Lowe’s in the Okanagan ( although they own Rona) . Boy we were p’ssed off ! Ps ... filled out survey in bill to have someone call us ... no one bothered .

I keep trying to support a Canadian company buy going to this store over and over again in the hopes things will get better. The problem is it's a significantly terrible almost every time for the past dozen trips. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review but geez Rona you leave little choice. Primarily in finding any assistance or to help answer any questions is virtually impossible. It's like chasing a flock of birds.... The floor staff scatter every direction to avoid all customer contact at all costs. It's actually kind of funny to watch. Lol. Should you manage to catch one unwittingly, more times than not they don't have a clue as to how to help and deliver the old...."This is not my section". I wonder if this is because they have just eluded customers from their designated sections and have inadvertantly ended new unfamiliar section during the escape. Other than that the cashiers are great, their prices a little more than average, selection is fairly decent.

This was my first time in Rona, and I was definitely intimidated walking into the massive warehouse, as all I was looking for was something I could fit in the palm of my hand; a needle in a huge haystack, actually. Shower curtain rod flanges. Yup. However, the many aisles were labeled accordingly, and products were placed like-with-like, which may seem like common sense, but we all know sometimes that does not prevail. In the end, I found my flanges with hardly any searching needed, and the cashier, Lydia, was super friendly, to boot.

After a few visits, it seems the staff does not know the products or their locations. Every time I've been to the store I've been told the wrong information. Even the website is incorrect, saying they have 32 round-up 5L refill bottles in stock, but two staff members could not find them anywhere. The staff is friendly enough though and there is a good selection of products.

Worst experience I've ever had in Canada. Bad service. Nobody knows anything. I'll avoid it whenever I can. 1 hour talking to employees and no one knows where the de "shower drains" are... No one can help you, buy 1 item on the website and no one found it, just said, "It must be somewhere in the store" really stupid

I was tracking down a very special Father's day/birthday gift and we were out of stock in our town but Kelowna still had a floor model. Alex at service desk 1 was so incredible and helpful over the phone and held the item until I could make it there the next day, if there was something he couldn't help me with he made sure it was set up so it would be easy. He was so friendly. When we arrived to the store a receiver named Oliver brought my 220 lb item by himself through the store and assembled a team to help me load my hubby's new grill. I find this kind of customer service very hard to still find and was so thankful to receive it this week. A huge thank you to Alex and Oliver, you made our family's summer!

Rona has lots of selections and fair prices. Staff are reluctant to help. We needed some help to match and lift some heavy bathroom cabinets, I had to seek out and ask for help a few times. After an eye roll from Dave, he sent a small woman to help us out..she then had to also had to request help, and informed us, that our items were heavy..(yup knew that, that's why we asked in first place.) She was kind and we did spent over $500 there. In the end it takes a lot to get service. If they didn't have the cabinets I wanted, I would go somewhere else for sure!

we went to order cabinets talked to a salesperson in the cabinet office. We asked if we could get a quote on certain cabinets they deal with. We gave them the specs and how many of each size out of the brochure. He said he would call us back around 6pm. He called us gave us price over phone we were so happy it looked like it was in our budget to work with :) When we got there he quotes us on 1 of each no the qtys we had written down beside the checked out cabinet boxes. Of course he was gone for the day as well he called us and left. What a joke I don't recommend this at all. the only reason why we were going to get out cabinets here is because the home we just purchased had the exact same ones in the kitchen. always double check everything and talk really ssllloooowwwwllllyyyy to everyone at Rona so they know what you are asking. Clearly the guys in the cabinet sales department don't know how to listed to customers when quoting. im so glad we double checked their work!

Great people at this store, but I highly suggest you DO NOT BUY GE APPLIANCES FROM RONA. First off, the staff at Rona Kelowna were amazing. BUT: Based on our experience, Rona Canada has horrible appliance customer service. Waited 11 weeks for a new GE fridge, finally delivered and it is defective! Who has to wait 11 weeks for a fridge? Where did it come from? Antarctica? We were told 2-3 weeks, but Appliance Central (In Quebec) kept calling us and telling us 10 more days. That happened SIX TIMES! Then when we complained, the customer rep in Quebec told us it was the Stores fault! He didn't even own the problem, just tried to pin it on someone else. We paid $5,500 on three Brand new appliances, got a Defective Fridge 11 weeks later and all that we were offered by Appliance Central as compensation was a measly $100 gift card! To be frank, that was insulting. No problem. We are living with our defective fridge, and as I promised the fellow from Appliance Central who spoke in such a condescending way to both my wife and I: I will be sure to mention this disastrous appliance purchase experience to everyone I meet. The sad epilogue to this is that all the staff at the Kelowna Rona were and are amazing, so nice to us and worked so hard to try to solve it. BUT: I feel bad for them too! They were also treated like dirt by the Appliance central and head office out East. Everything that happened was out of their control and they could do nothing to solve it! Appliance Central in Quebec, worst experience EVER. And GE, thanks for the POS fridge that out of the box was defective!

Rona has a great selection and often different options than Home Depot which is nice. I have had many very helpful employees that have taken me right to what I need or even helped me brainstorm for unique projects. Over all I personally have has great experiences but I have also been frustrated a few times with the lack of available staff when I need help. It's a gigantic store so that may be part of the problem, they're just spread out and it take a while to walk around!

I've been trying to call since 12 this afternoon it is now 4:22 and still nobody has picked up the phone in any department. I had purchased a few bags of pellets for my pellet stove and as I got home to open them up 3-4 bags were damp and the pellets inside turned back to sawdust. I tried to Sort thru and get the decent pellets but unfortunately they were already moist from the wet pellets surrounding it now I have a jammed pellet stove and no pellets I live in a trailer on a mountain so this is my only heat source and they can't even find the time to pick up any phone in anyone of their departments. Home Depot or Canadian Tire will always be my choice and it should be yours also these Rona locations are a joke

I'm not sure why, but they always only have 2 checkouts open directly across from each other, so customers can't get large items out easily. Some items are difficult to find and sometimes you can't find anyone around to help. I like to shop Canadian, but I think they need to improve.

I'll try not to go on too long here, but Rona's one star review comes as the result of many dealings. I live quite close so I foolishly and optimistically returned hoping my horrible product and customer service experiences were just flukes. 1. Good luck finding anyone who can help. Staff are hard to find and are more likely to spend 20 minutes running around the store to find a different staff member than help you. 2. When I have phoned with problems I just get delegated from one desk to the next, sometimes even getting delegated back to the first one that answered, where once again I will be delegated away. 3. After ordering doors they got me the wrong ones, so I returned them and asked for the ones I had asked for, they assured me the doors would be ready in about 2 weeks. After a month I called to check the status of my order and was told that they didn't understand the notes they put on my file so no one had bothered dealing with them (I had prepaid and they couldn't bother to figure out what I wanted) finally after a week of calling the doors arrived, my contractor picked them up because he had a truck and upon going to install we realized that one of the doors was the exact same door that was wrong in the first place. 4. I bought an expensive faucet, finally get the sink mounted and take the faucet out or the box, it's corroded and covered with Teflon tape, it looks like it was heavily used and abused for years before my purchase. I'm hoping they take it back but it was on sale (not because it was used and corroded but because all bathroom faucets were on sale that week) These are just the memorable experiences. Why have I given these people so much money.?

Super clean facility. Good parking. Ok design, even though the third row at the back still always surprises me, but a very strong customer avoidance culture. You know the one where one who obviously has some duties towards re-stocking sees you and walks past quickly like they are in a hurry. But then you see them the next row over and they are shuffling a long, killing time. But when you are able to talk to one at a counter their knowledge and advise was decent. Pricing, as usual needs to be watched, especially on their sale items. Good store. Needs some cultural injection.

I came into Rona Kelowna this morning to grab a sprinkler, as I had seen them listed as in stock at the store on the website. There were none on the shelf, so I went to customer service to ask for help. The lady at the desk said that yes, it looks like they are listed as 7 in stock, but that "That could mean anything". She then told me I needed to ask for help from someone in that area, and told me to go ask another employee that had walked past us into that part of the store. So I walked back over to the area, and see a group of employees talking (by the BBQ area, and the chat did seem work related). A few of the employees made eye contact with me, but no one broke off to ask if I needed help or to let me know they couldn't help. After approximately 5 minutes, I ended up going back to the isle the sprinkler was meant to be in to see if I could see the product number on the side of any of the upper boxes/shelves, and to see if I could find an available employee. I wandered up and down the isle for a bit, and also tried waiting at a different customer service booth. Eventually I went back to the front customer service desk to try asking for help again, and was told the same thing, that I need to find an employee working that area. At that point I decided to just order the item on my phone for me to pick up in store, and hopefully then an employee would find the time to help me get the sprinkler. I went home. A few hours later I get an alert that my item is ready to be picked up from a pickup locker. So I drive back down to Rona, and do not see the pickup lockers in the front entrance, so I walk into the store to the pickup counter. They help me find the pickup lockers, but upon opening the locker I see that there is a hose nozzle in the locker, not the sprinkler I ordered. We verified my order, I had in fact ordered a sprinkler, and they had put the wrong item in the locker. So I wait a bit so they can go see if they can find the correct item. They aren't able to. At this point I am frustrated, and ask for a refund. They cancel the order. I am quite frustrated with the waste of my time and gas.

You try to support a Canadian store and drop in to get a few simple items - sandpaper and steel wool. The sandpaper comes in packets of 3 and the grit selection is sketchy. The steel wool has only 2 grades. Last week I wanted a couple of storage containers - poor selection. My wife wanted to pick up some planters - poor selection. So we went to the American store and got what we needed. Rona you are losing your grip on the market. Good luck.

Recently we were trying to get quotes for some new kitchen cabinets. The fellow who we originally talked to was away for a few weeks, so he suggested an associate look after us. We had no response so I wrote a letter to the store manager, who never responded, not even to say he would look into it. Eventually someone touched base with us and soon after the fellow we originally talked to returned and we got our quote, too late as we had already ordered from another supplier. Leadership starts from the top and I guess if the manager doesn’t communicate it reflects in how the employees communicate. Very poor service, except for one individual.

Should be zero stars. A Rona employee did almost $1400 damage to my vehicle while loading an item. I was told to have the vehicle fixed, submit the invoice to the store manager and I would receive a cheque in the mail in a couple weeks (2-3...maybe 4 weeks for processing I figured) to cover the damages. It has now been 9 weeks and I have still not received a cheque. I have left multiple unreturned voicemails with the head office in Boucherville. I cannot get any answers from the Rona Kelowna store as to what’s going on. I feel like I’m being strung along and will never see the money to pay for the repairs. Will not shop at this store again.

Rona is a mixed bag for me. They have a very impressive selection, the best in Kelowna in my opinion. Few of there employees seem to be able to answer questions and I've never had one try to find the right person to answer my questions when they themselves don't have the answer. It's very hard to get anyone's attention in the lumber yard. I have found the quality of their paint to be to low to be worth the cost savings. You just end up needing more layers. I find it relatively easy to find items. Returns are pretty hassle free. They carry products of decent quality. Often they are the cheapest option and they can often adjust a price if there has recently been a sale is if there is about to be one. They've always been really good about allowing dog's in the store. They now have a large home appliance section. If they could get their staff trained better and to care more I'd give them 5 stars.

Ever since this store changed from Revy to Rona, it has been terrible. Its extremely difficult to find someone to help you, and my latest experience actually made me want to post a review: I was there early in the morning, it was not at all busy. I needed a key cut. I walked around, could not find anyone, so I stood by the key cutter for a few minutes. In the same aisle were 2 people stocking shelves, or putting up a display (not sure), I made eye contact several times, but they had ZERO interest in me. After 10 minutes I walked to a service counter that actually had someone behind it, and I asked if possibly the key cutting was self serve now (I don't know, so many things are self serve now!), and the guy laughed out loud at me, and said "how on earth do you think just anyone can cut a key??" I was embarrassed. He had to call for someone THREE SEPARATE TIMES before anyone came to help. The person that did come was nice enough, thank god! That will be the last time I go there. Home Depot and Home Hardware on the Westside are the places to go!!

I had bought laminate flooring at the Penticton Rona, and when I finally got around to installing it(as usual ) a few pieces short. So took the bar code and off to Rona Kelowna. I looked all over and couldn’t find the same one. Then this nice young fellow came walking down the floor aisle and I asked if he could tell me if they had any. His name is Noel.’he scanned the bar code and said we have 144 boxes. But they were not there. He sure new how to read his hand held reader. He went and got those moveable the way business used to be run and we seem to have gotten away from that of late. Without airmiles there is no longer ANY reason to even consider RONA and don't be fooled by 5-star reviews, many are clearly paid reviews and the photos clearly edited. Store has a horrible automotive section. It's too small in general, staff get the rating up to 2-stars I find they usually know what they are talking about if you can find them and if they don't they are helpful and friendly assisting you to get the answer. The selection is not great at all (the store itself is 1-star, the staff are 4-stars).

Just went to Rona and try to buy a Shower stall, the old man works at the Bath department has no knowledge and couldn't answer any questions about their products. Even for a simple question about their price and materials, his answer could be simply as "sorry sir, I cannot answer your question". Then, he sent a young guy to help and told him "ok, I'll let you play with them". I cannot believe Rona hired anyone who acted that unprofessional! And the young worker couldn't help too much either. We went to check out appliances today at Rona. We left the store and exited through the wrong doors. An employee of Rona came out chasing us through the parking lot screaming at the top of his lungs at us. That we shouldn't be going out the wrong door. Seriously!! These are photos of my new roof install from Rona Kelowna and Avenue Exteriors Ltd. that took place in November 2019. What a disappointment. I hired Rona for a credible and professional job. I am to list my property for sale and a new roof was to ad to the value in the sale. I was assured by Rona Install, the company, Avenue Exteriors Ltd. had over 25 years experience and would provide excellent quality service in install. I was told and Rona takes care of their customers best interest. I entered the agreement believing fully what Rona staff outlined as genuine and reliable. I received less then industry standard service. Avenue Exteriors Ltd. shows negligence in several areas including knowingly roofing over rot. The install is deficient and incomplete to date. They sent 1 man to do the entire roof. What was quoted 2-3 days took 9 and is still incomplete. In fact areas need to be replaced due to deficiencies in install. I personally had to walk around and clean up nails, shingles and wrappers end of days and after the so called completion which in fact is not. No regard for my property was observed. Although, I have expressed much concern via phone calls and emails during and now afterwards; Rona refuses to acknowledge my concerns fully and has offered no immediate resolve. I’ve tried reaching out to Rona Head Office via email and phone and am redirected to Regional Manager Greg Bloom. He offers to cover the rot with flashing now so not to interfere with my home sale. He also has told me when it is convenient for everyone something will be done to replace 12” around the perimeter of sheathing. I don’t find this answer reasonable. I paid in advance for a service and am yet to receive a finished install. The notable deficiencies indicate an inspection is necessary to make sure nothing else was missed. I have been offered no firm resolve to date or any explanation for why I received such poor quality service from Rona and Avenue Exteriors Ltd. When you use Rona Install you pay in advance. I paid over $7600.00. This takes away any form of control you have as a consumer to rectify the situation. Rona in my case has not advocated for me. I’ve asked for a contact for another manager and it won’t be handed out. No matter how many times I reach out to resolve, I find myself being disregarded. I’ve asked for a specific timeline to be met, ignored. I’ve suggested discount and payment to be on hold; again ignored. Currently no customer care has been provided. Went in to Rona Kelowna 6 weeks ago to buy 2 lengths of vinyl siding, they didn't have our colour match so we ordered it. Two weeks later I got a call to say it had arrived, went in the next day and after a long wait at customer service a guy came with our order. The 2 pieces were taped together so my husband pulled them apart and one was a different colour. Tom said he would get in touch with them and reorder, I said we had a wasted journey, he said we would be contacted and that it could be delivered to us. Four weeks later we called in to see if our order had come in, it had (no one called us!) So we waited and waited at customer service for our order, then someone came with 2 boxes on a cart and just pushed them towards us and left. Neither box was our order, so the girl at customer service had to ask about someone finding our order again. This time Tom who did the ordering brought one piece of siding up to the counter and laughed saying he think someone stole the other. I chose to take a refund, filled in a complaint card and now I have to find my siding somewhere else. We spent over 40 minutes waiting for our order to come to customer service. Very poor, slow, couldn't care less service from everybody except Gracie on the customer service counter who did apologise. Won't be going back here for anything, they need to brush up on their customer service.

I just purchased an outdoor patio set at Rona and I found the service to be excellent. The Rona in Kelowna didn't have the patio set in stock, but Wayne, the sales associate, was able to confirm that the Kamloop's store had a set and another associate had initiated the transfer of the set to the Kelowna store. After I purchased the patio set, I had to speak with Wayne several times as I had some questions. On each occasion, he was very polite, professional and courteous. It's this type of outstanding customer service that made shopping at Rona a positive experience.

Service at the plumbing counter was good ( with gary anyway) however, the rest of my experience has been horrible. I've waited over a week now to contact their "installation team" to schedule the replacement of my gas hot water heater. Phone tag, call center in Quebec not helpful to me in BC. Language barrier was an issue, asked for supervisor, the guy refused. Too many complaints to bother typing them all out. I'd give fewer stars if it were an option. DO NOT PAY RONA TO INSTALL ANYYHING. Worst customer service EVER.

I do not recommend buying a gas hot water tank from Rona. It leaked 8 weeks after install, Rona after several phone calls helpfully informed us that no problem come and pick up a replacement water tank but we had to pay the install again and dispose of the leaking tank. Many phonecalls later this is not accurate and Giant do replace and pay for install if it fails within the first year. Very disappointed with the service from Rona.

He helped me load my bags and even took the cart and just made conversation with me. I was having a bad day and just this interaction made my day better. And I usually don't do this but because of how how he made me feel I wanted to share it.

I placed an online order through Rona with the understanding that the order would be ready for pick up in 2 hours which is what it states in my confirmation e-mail from them. Well my Husband then went to the store to pick up the items after the 2 hours thinking that it would be close to being ready. Since we needed the items for a current project this would be a great way to make sure that they would have them on hold for us. They did not. Apparently they do not process any online order after 5pm. It would of been really great to know this in advance! We were told that we could purchase the products tonight and then return the items from our order after they are processed. Unfortunately I could not afford to do it that way due to the fact that I already paid for it . Now we have to wait until 11am tmrw. This has put a huge time dent in our project plans and is a huge inconvenience!

Exercising social distancing/respect is one thing but treating your customer base like they are ex convicts is slightly over the top as was my experience today, if that's the case you are better off to close your doors. I don't think the staff need to be trained to loose their personality and be rude to top it all off. Visiting retailers lately has still turned out to be a positive shopping experience other than Rona of course.

Rona is my go-to for anything for our DIY projects and the recent renovation to our new office. The store has pivoted to address the pandemic issues as well as any store so large could manage, and the staff continue to be friendly and helpful as always. Specific areas of the store that have been particularly helpful include Customer Service, Contract Sales, and Paint/Decorating. Rona/Kelowna works to connect with the community, sponsoring a number of initiatives that I also support, so I was happy to donate for their popcorn (I miss it since COVID), and to support specific fundraising for Heart & Stroke, and Multiple Sclerosis. Highly recommend it.

Very friendly I used to have mixed feelings about Rona. I live right behind it so we go there ALOT. Since COVID the staff have been very helpful and kind. The cashier was so kind and informed of many things I did not know Rona did. Such as financing at great rates. I recommend shopping here

We were having problems with a contractor finding sliding doors and we managed to call and talk with Tom Shaughnessy and were so thankful. He sorted out all our issues in the store and our contractor was able to pick up our doors successfully. Tom was friendly, supportive and very professional. Would highly recommend him.

Absolutely useless, called and they placed a 24 hour hold on the item trying to minimize around during the Pandemic. 24 hour hold notice was there not on the desk they said on another desk but no item. Are they just to lazy to do their job or they don't care or can't think thru things. Why put something on hold when they don't have it in their hand. Useless staff. Talking to friends and family about this they said they have experienced the same sort of thing, no help from staff or they can't find staff or they call and on hold for long periods of time then the call drops. Good thing is there are other stores to go to - I'll take my money to Home Depot.

We bought a new gas range and received it 5pm Saturday night left it all taped up till the gas man hooked it up on Monday at 4pm. The drawer would not open and close very well. I phoned Rona on Tuesday and was told that my 48 hours were up. I will not buy anything from them again. I feel that was very poor service. Wayne

Last year in an attempt to purchase steer manure a customer service rep told me to purchase it at checkout and they would bring it up to me. After waiting close to 45 minutes at 8pm at night when the store was quiet I was still waiting. Upon enquiring I was told by staff they had no product. This week again I attempted to make a steer manure purchase and was told the same thing. I asked rep to verify this time if they even had any in stock so I wouldn't go through the same long wait only to find out there wasn't any. This rep actually asked me if I could give her the sckew for steer manure! After inquiring they informed me they were out and would no longer be carrying it any longer. If I hadn't enquired I would have happily been charged for it and stood around waiting for a non existent product.. Used to be 1 of my favorite stores but it has really gone down hill.

Do not order countertops here! We were told 3-4 weeks for instal of our quartz counters and it’s been over 7 with no updates and no end in sight. They refuse to call us back and don’t care we are living without a kitchen. No refunds, no apologies. Absolutely the worst customer service.

Absolutely the worst customer service, have been there 5 times. Everytime gets worse! Most recently went in to buy grout for my tile job, asked 3 employees where I could find latex gloves. Without hesitation each individual employee said "I'm sorry we are sold out" they didn't ask for help or look into the issue, just said they were all sold out. As I was walking to the till to pay for my product I found a whole wall of latex gloves. The exact pair I was looking for. Then I decided to go to the customer service desk to explain my frustrations upon my most recent visit and all they treated me as if I was a annoyance to their busy evening when. The store had maybe 30 people in it including employees.. he then just said sorry and started talking with the other employee beside him I'd give a 0 out if ten
