my purchase of the Bamboo grasses was a fail... but I'm very pleased to say Lori the manager heard my disappointment and reached out to me. She went above and beyond to help me find replacement baskets. She was patient and explained exactly what I needed so my plants would be successful. I chose 2 beautiful hanging baskets at no charge! I'm very grateful and definitely will be a customer. Customer service is alive and well at Bylands in West Kelowna♡

Very disappointed in the knowledge of the staff of their products. This is by far the worst nursery in the Kelowna area. Take the drive over the bridge to the Greenery for better customer service, selection and prices. I was just at Bylands looking for 2 plants a 3 weeks ago. I was told to come back on May 15th because they would be in stock by then. I tried calling on many occasions but I guess they are too understaffed / complacent to return phone calls. So I went back to the store today to learn that I was given the bum steer by their expert, who told me the plants would be in by mid may, only to discover they are not, because they'd already sold out prior to my asking the first time. The ineptitude of the staff has also resulted in my not being able to go elsewhere for the plants because other nurseries are now sold out. They were not sold out when I originally asked the people at Bylands and was told to come back later.

Bylands has beautiful plants and flowers, I will go out of my way to buy flowers from this location, the flowers are fresh cut and quality is top notch. Customers service is lacking while the staff is helpful at times, they will walk right by you and not even glance or ask if you need help. Having your staff smile and greet customers should be as important as your product you sell. They would get a 5 star rating from me if they improved their customer service

I like to tour around Bylands Garden Center year round. During the warm months I love to wander through the huge selection of outdoor plants and veggies. So inspiring! The indoor showroom is where they carry unique decorative items for the home, interesting jewelry, purses, scarves and even a few pieces of women's clothing. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.

As the only garden center that stays open year around in Kelowna, Bylands is definitely among my top locations to visit while looking for fun indoor plants. Great selection of Tropicals; occasionally you can find more rare varieties such as Alocasia Black Velvet or Whale fin Sansevieria.

2020 Update: 2nd year ordering, delivered on time. Beautiful bouquet but did not meet special instructions fully, I will order by phone instead on online in future. 2019 Ordered a bouquet long-distance, I was looking for it to fit some specific requirements and they were outstanding at putting something together that met everything I was looking for. The recipients commented that everything looked in such good shape and smelled fantastic. They were also very good at communicating and resolving issues when there was a problem with my payment going through. Wonderful experience with this florist.

I have come here multiple times as I live close by. Every single time (5 times to be exact) not one single person has asked me if I need help or even said hello as I wandered for 30 minutes trying to figure out what greenery to purchase. It’s very frustrating when you don’t know exactly which shrub or plants are best for your property and hoping someone would help since there was roughly 6 workers walking around and it wasn’t overly busy. I even had the owner walk past me roughly 4 times and she didn’t even say hello, ask if I needed help, or anything. I’ve kept going back in hopes it was fluke each time that I was completely ignored as I like to support local. I now drive to kelowna to a different nursery and receive exceptional service each time.

Now for starters, I would like to say I have shopped at this store for my indoor plant collection for many years and loved it. The selection was almost always good, sometimes even amazing! Their prices are a bit higher, but you can normaly find 2 or 3 good ones (sometimes a trunk full lol) so worth the trip for me to visit from princeton! Long time no problem! How ever, after searching for a rare Silver Dragon Alocasia for quite some time I finally tracked one down at bylands, I had attempted to send 3 friends from princeton to pick up this plant for me but they sold out fast! Then I drove out, got the plant!!!! WooooHoooooo!!!! picked one with 3 unraveling leafs, for excitement to watch it grow. but unfortunately as it unwraveld there was some small holes to me was obvious pest damage. I messaged them, they were responsive but unfortunately we could not come to an agreement on this expensive 100 plant they had sold me with holes in the leafs. I wanted a replacement and that was not possible :( they did offer me my money back but because this was soooo high on my wish list I did not want to part with it. bottom line is it was just really unfortunate on my end, so I will recommend if you are a collector and sometimes spend big money on plants to money try someone who can garurentee their plants! ❤

I think she doesn't like any Asian people going to the store. :( BTW, we looked asians but we are Canadian.. During check out, even with a delay due to items not being in the system the staff members buddies up and helped out, even a lady who was going on break. How could it get any better ? This is my first spring living in the Okanagan after moving from the coast. A yard of top soil cost $80 which is more than double what I'm used to. I've since found at least two other places in the Kelowna area that sell a yard for $45 or less. I won't be buying anything else there considering the ridiculous prices of something as basic as bulk soil.
