When they quoted us it was the most professional quote ever, Matthew was the one who quoted us, and he was super friendly and helpful. Adam and his crew were here for a week rebuilding our front walkway, stairs, garden walls. Hard working, courteous, professional good attention to detail...the whole nine yards. Ian dropped in on the job to check in with them and us. Every evening they left us with a clean,safe work sight. Highly recommended!

We had a drainage issue with our brick patio in our back yard and approached Yards to fix it. Not a very big job but something that has been bothering us for quite some time. The team they sent was excellent, they worked on it for a couple days and the final result was stellar. From some of the pictures they have in their office they also do huge jobs on mansions and such so it's nice to see they will still take their time and care on small stuff too. Definitely recommend!

Recently completed some work on the side and backyard area of our bungalow. Project focus was originally on improving drainage issues but turned in to an opportunity to improve the overall look of the yard by removing dead trees, adding to a patio area and planting some new trees. We appreciated the feedback and ideas of the designer when working on the initial drawings and although we got off to a delayed start due to COVID, we were very happy once the work got going. The team that was here had to work in very hot conditions but they were pleasant and kept us informed at every stage. Also as others have commented in reviews, we had neighbours tell us they were impressed by the fact that the team respected the traffic needs of the street and cleaned up each night before leaving. Although our job was likely smaller than others that Yards Unlimited typically do, I appreciated that we were made to feel our satisfaction now and in the future was a priority for the company. Having completed this work we now have made plans to have them come back in the spring to do some improvements in the front of the house. I have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

November 2021. Excellent quality and very professional company. This company is unique in that it offers two distinct services; 1) landscape design with drawings and dimensions and planting descriptions and 2) Implementation. You can chose to undertake 1 but not 2 if that is your wish. The landscape design for my property in North Kanata was outstanding, innovative, linked to the design of the house and Jeff incorporated our existing boulders into the design. Brilliant. The front yard landscaping was completed in October 2019 and has withstood time well. I receive many compliments and have observed people stopping to examine the landscaping. In July 2021, I rehired Yards to fix a major grading mistake made by the new subdivision developer on the adjacent property which flooded my new front yard landscaping! Be aware that all landscaping companies are not equal. Yards is first class, provides great care to their staff, their staff are long time employees, a port a potty is provided for big jobs, they sweep the street at the end of each day and there is always corporate identification. This year, there were 9 landscaping jobs on my crescent, all but Yards had 0 corporate identification, males staff working with no shirts on, they would show up some days and not others. Dirt over the street. Buying a product is more than the $ cost. Many of my neighbors regretted going with the lowest cost because of the total aggravation they experienced with the many dubious quality/experience "landscaping" companies. I highly recommend Yards Unlimited Landscaping Inc.

I highly recommend Yards Unlimited. My project involved replacing broken cement steps with interlocking brick, re-setting patio stones and replacing old river stone. The work far exceeded my hopes. The steps were rebuilt in classic, sophisticated brick. The workmanship was exceptional. At the end of each day, the work site was clean. The team was polite and pleasant. The owner was responsive to my requests and gave valuable advice. There was good communication about scheduling. The office staff were responsive and pleasant for billing and other logistics. All in all, the company’s work is of the highest quality.

I was skeptical at first and concerned that the design for our interlock driveway was too complex and involved for any landscaping company to want to take up the project. My experience from the start with Yards Unlimited Inc and in particular Blaise and later Ian was nothing but positive. Blaise worked patiently with us to finalize the design, attended to all the details, and helped in the selection of stones (that have turned out to be just great). This part was completed in the fall of 2020. The work to install the new driveway began this Spring on schedule. Andy as the foreman and with his great crew worked tirelessly under sweltering temperatures to deliver an outstanding final product beyond our expectations. The team arrived on time, worked diligently throughout the day, was courteous, polite, and always willing to answer questions. They kept the work area clean and tidy during the demolition and installation phases. I have received ( and continue to receive) endless compliments from neighbors and passerbys' all very impressed with the quality of work and the attention to detail. This is praise indeed and the credits go to Yards Unlimited Inc management team, Andy, and the crew assigned to the project. Thank you also to Mina, Rochelle, and Mathew who answered all my emails, phone calls- so very promptly and found solutions to all the little issues that came up along the way. We are very happy customers and would recommend Yards Unlimited Inc to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and well-organized/managed company that delivers high-quality services in Landscaping.

Yards Unlimited: Setting the bar high for all landscaping companies in Ottawa Since we got bamboozled in 2014 by a company hired to renovate our on-suite bathroom and bedroom, we have been extremely mistrustful of the construction industry. Although this changed for us in 2018 when we contracted “DBK Bathrooms and Kitchens” to add an extension to the house and remodel our kitchen and dining room, the bitter taste of the 2014 project remained when we were getting landscaping companies to quote the work we desired for our backyard. After 4 months of searching and meeting with 6 companies and contractors, we settled on Yards Unlimited. Three of the contractors we met with never sent us a quote; one never provided references; and another was at par with Yards Unlimited but we were not convinced of their project design process. Yards Unlimited provided references who gave them great reviews when we contacted them. The initial contact with Ian Stewart, owner of Yards Unlimited, was pleasant and we followed his advice and first met with his designer Jeff Rolland to flesh out our desired outcome. Similar to the approach our 2018 designer took, Jeff spent a great of deal of time listening to our ideas and came on site for a walk-around, and unbeknownst to us, he was observing how we were walking towards our backyard and how we were standing in it. This, coupled with our discussions had him suggest the design we accepted, which responded to our desires and most importantly, our needs … which at times were not aligned. This would now lead to the actual quote. At Yards Unlimited, it is Ian who priced out every item of the project. This allowed us the flexibility to modify material or parts of the project to suit our budget. It only took 2 redrafts to land on the final scope of work. All the paperwork and contract were completed in October last year and we also confirmed the contract with “Al’s Fencing” who would get that part of the backyard project done and who would coordinate their work plan with Yards Unlimited’s. The ballpark start date: May 2020. We were excited about the prospect of having a fully redesigned backyard in time for summer 2020. Then: COVID-19 popped up. Yards Unlimited was very understanding of our concerns about scheduled payments due in April in light of the COVID-19 situation and they delayed the required payments until the Ontario Health Authorities gave the green light for construction projects to commence. For weeks leading up to the start of the project, Ian kept us informed and with the weather cooperating, the project started on May 18th and everything was completed within the schedule presented to us in October last year: within three weeks. The crews that worked on the landscaping, the garden and deck construction were respectively led by Graham, Michaela, and Blair. All three worked extremely well with their teammates and their craftsmanship is only equaled by their attention to client service. Not one question we had seemed to bother them and in fact, they would proactively reach out to us to gauge our appreciation of the work being done, as it was happening. They were very cordial and very pleasant to have around. It was even sad when they left. We don’t think we’ll ever get past our 2014 experience and this is unfortunate for the Industry and for companies who genuinely care for the work that they do and for the clients that they serve. That said, we would absolutely recommend Yards Unlimited to anyone looking to remodel their yard and property. We will think of Ian Stewart, Jeff Rolland, Graham, Zack, Michaela, Rochelle, Blair and Mina their bookkeeper for years to come, at least as we are sitting in the Gazebo having a meal with family and friends or relaxing and conversing over refreshments in our new outdoor living room Thank you Yards Unlimited !!

The members of the crew were extremely hardworking, very polite, highly-skilled and so creative. It was abundantly clear they take tremendous pride in what they do. I cannot say enough about Yards. They transformed my property. They were prompt, professional, creative, collaborative, respectful, courteous, hard working, and of course incredibly skilled. We had a great experience with Yards Unlimited. They were very professional and prompt in all communications with us before the job started. When they were onsite doing work, they kept in touch with us to let us know what work was happening each day and did an excellent job tidying up at the end of each work day. The individuals onsite spent time with us showing us how to properly care for our new plants and grass. We are very happy with the design that was suggested to us, and the execution of that design worked out very well and we are very pleased with the results.
