Matt and Mitch did a phenomenal job from the initial contact to the completion of the walkway. While other contractors took weeks even months to get back to me regarding a quote, they followed up immediately. During the process, if I had any questions, Matt was quick to answer. Once on site, one week earlier than scheduled, the team had the job done quickly and efficiently. Every last detail was carefully considered, from advice on colour and texture selection, to ensuring the area was returned to its original form, other than, of course, the welcoming, stylish and appealing walkway that Naturally Defined Landscapes completed.

We had originally hired NDL to do our previous house's backyard. We agreed on the design and were set to begin in the spring. Long story short but plans changed. I called Matt and let him know that we had sold the house but asked if we could move the project funds to our new house that we were building to which he said no problem. Phase 1 was just completed which was an awesome 6' wide walkway, and some front plantings. They encountered some issues with our land and were more than fair about replacing the materials that wouldn't work for our project with more suitable materials at a very minimal cost difference given the work involved to remove / replace. Matt was always in communication with me and was never in the dark. Not sure how anyone could give these guys a bad review as the work is top notch and they are very personable. Will be using them again for the upcoming phases in the near future. See their work for reference.

Naturally Defined Landscapes are the real deal when it comes to hardscaping and landscape construction. UNPROFESSIONAL: We first met with Matt in the fall of 2020 and were instantly thrilled with the possibility of working with him. Our deposit was sent and we were excited to begin work in spring of 2021as we had a backyard wedding planned for early June. Our backyard was to be completely renovated and the job was big (30K). As you can expect with a job of this size and expense there were probably a dozen back and forth emails and three drawing revisions over the course of the winter and the plan was set. Well, I guess I asked one too many questions. I had the nerve to ask him to confirm that the grassed area would be flat and also asked him to confirm the height of the first course of armour stone. Matt suddenly and shockingly responded to my question by stating that he could no longer work with us and proceeded to cancel the job and returned our deposit. He would not discuss this via a phone call. This leaves us scrambling for another contractor to complete the work in time for the wedding (good luck!) or finding another venue for the wedding (good luck!).

Patios and stairs installed, and hot tub pad creation. They were polite, tidy, and professional. We are very pleased with the way both patios turned out. They even helped out to coordinate burying the electric cable to improve the overall appearance, going the extra mile for the trench and assisting the electrician in doing so. Good communication from start to finish, responsive when contacted. Hard workers, who approach the job very efficiently.

I would highly recommend NDL. Not only were they extremely professional, but they went above and beyond what we expected, moving and transplanting bushes, carrying materials from our old walkway (which we wanted to keep) to the side of the house and neatly piling it out of the way. They also laid plywood on our lawn and newly paved driveway to prevent damage, freshened up our mulch, and put grass seed down where dirt was showing beside new walkway. We had a few questions and a couple last min changes, and they were very patient and accomodating. They did alot of work for us including new porch, 2 walkways, banding around driveway and turnaround area, as well as an armour stone wall. We are very pleased and absolutely love how everything turned out!
