We ordered screened top soil (Gromax) from them and it was unfortunately full of pieces of plastic, a spring, and some pieces of glass. For context, we found a piece of plastic (some kind of bag?) in almost every handful of soil. This was extremely concerning for us, and also disappointing based on other reviews I have read here. So just letting folks know to be wary about their products. It is not right to be selling products with so much plastics in there. I am especially concerned for the health and safety of my family - what else is in there that we can't see and (tediously) pull out ourselves?

They have everything... literally, everything-- more than I knew was available. The owner was an expert, with tons of energy and knowledge. He helped me and my husband choose everything from a cedar mulch, to some of the most stunning stone I have ever seen. I'd never even heard of it before. Blue granite. They put us in touch with incredibly talented masons, and we put it everywhere. Thanks for everything!

Prior's is my go to place for my landscaping materials. Rick Tufford has been and is very reasonable to deal with. You can get as little as you want or as much as you need , he turns no one away. And that is one of the main reasons I have done business with Fred E Prior's & Son's. They have a very large selection of mulch , I can't recall of hand but at least 5 different types minimum. They also carry different types and styles of top soil as well. I had picked up 2 yard's of his multi mix of top coat I used to build up my yard for reseeding and true to his word it is light and airy , not heavy and mat like. Never used it before and was very impressed with his own mixed product. What has helped me, is that during my project I had phoned on a Saturday early afternoon to see if they were still open . And low and behold they were open till 3 pm . Other places close at 12 that's even if they open on saturday. You know when you've done business with Rick and forgive me the cheery young lady that holds down the fort in the office and his always helpful loader , at least for me I always leave with a smile and feeling confident that I have come away with the best product the market has to offer. And no I have absolutely no connections with this business other than being a happy customer , supporting a local small business. You can't go wrong here. ????????????????????

I go to Priors exclusively for my mulch and landscape supplies. Rick has competitive pricing and more than that he makes a personal connection with his customers. Too many competitors want you in and out, but Rick makes sure you feel like more than a credit card. Their location is so perfect, basically in the middle of Guelph. You don't have to go far to get what you need!
