Like many out of town tourists, we came here for the thousand islands cruise. At the end of the day, we sat down in this Chinese restaurant and we were given a big menu and a small pink menu. My husband started the small pink menu and saw family meal for five for $55.95, and we ordered it. The food was the worst Chinese food that I ever had, but did not have great expectation on good Chinese food here anyways. However, we were shocked to see the large bill of more than $90! When we asked the owner, she said the small pink menu was a To Go menu and the prices in the To Go menu was signicantly lower because the portions for to go dishes are significantly smaller. I pointed to the owner that on the pink menu there is absolutely no To Go menu wording anywhere in the front or back. She pointed to the back of the menu which printed some wording Pick up 10% off and free delivery and she said those words made it a To Go menu. She claimed that this small town residents all knew about this. Well most people eating there are tourists and we were not told about this at all. The new waitress obviously did not know about it either and she offered to pay the difference between the $55 and $90. I felt so sorry about the waitress -- it was really the owner using different menus to trick the out of town tourists and she should not be the one paying for the difference. Also town residents, do you know that you are getting much less portion when you order from this small pink "To Go" menu ? I thought I would tell everyone about our experience at this restaurant. We hope it would be helpful to you.

I would give this place no stars. The food was alful. The rice was hard and glue like. Chicken balls were swimming in red sauce and dry and powder on the inside $ 80 of food yuck to it all!

This is the first Chinese restaurant where we were charged extra for white rice as well as each charged for tea. This added an extra $6.00 to our bill. The food was okay but the vegetables in our Chicken with Chinese vegetables dish were over cooked. The staff was friendly. The restaurant can get very noisy if there are children since there was no sound absorbing material in the room. There were only two Chinese restaurants in Gananoque and We took a chance on this one after reading the reviews. I would not recommend this one

Closes at 10pm which means they start closing at 9pm and wont serve past 9 then officially lock the doors at 10. Most places serve until their said closing time but whatever

If I were to score just based on hospitality, food quantity and service, I would have given a 5 out of 5. However I got the "for 2" combo that included sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken chowmien, chicken fried rice. It also came with 2 eggs rolls, these fried hickory sticks and these fried dough pieces while waiting for my food to be prepared. The quantity is amazing, service is amazing, price is amazing. The quality however was poor. Chicken balls were too sweet. Chicken fried rice did not taste right.. had a bland taste and just felt off. The chicken chowmien had not chowmein. It was sprouts with chicken. Not the best tasting food. I did end up throwing away the rest of my food( more than half left) and i felt like I was forcing myself to eat. Unfortunately i would not go again. Everything else was awesome but food was poor quality.

Food was expensive. Dishes were very small. Meat dishes had almost no meat and tons of onions. Food tasted like it was all cooked together, as there was a common flavor and odor. Really disappointed. Never going back.

In Gan this is probably the beat-tasting Chinese food we’ve had since moving here, which isn’t saying a whole lot. We usually get take-out and it is always hot & fresh, and is probably the least boring/bland of the three Chinese restaurants that I know of in Gan. Service is always ok for us. They also don’t put sprouts in the fried rice like the other places do (which I don’t like)... that’s just a personal preference tho. Docking 1 star because the food still isn’t spectacular compared to Chinese places in bigger towns and we also find that they are hard to get a hold of on the phone to place an order sometimes. But they will be our go-to as long as we’re living here.

Live just outside of Gan and tried them for the first time. We generally will drive all the way to Kingston to pick up Chinese food but last Saturday my wife and I thought that we would try Boston and were quite pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and the staff are quite friendly as well. We will definitely be going back.

Ordered take out. First thier on-line menu is not the same. Prices are much higher $15 difference for same order! Second find sauces poured onto chicken balls and soo guy which made nothing but a soggy mess. No other Chinese restaurant does that. Egg rolls tasted like soap. Worst Chinese food I've ever had. They say real white chicken, is nothing but processed chicken. Never again

It's too bad because the owners are very pleasant people, but the food here is awful. They seem to do OK in the soup department - we had the wonton and hot & sour soups - but avoid the chicken balls and general Tao chicken. Bready, and drenched in premade sauces that probably arrived in 25-gallon white plastic buckets.

Stopped here after the boat tour. Service was good however their rice portions were much smaller than what I'm used to seeing - they skimped. Had to order 2. Food was average.

I rarely leave bad reviews... but I paid a lot of money because of the so call glowing reviews. Food is bland. Little meat, the home made egg roll was nothing but deep fried air. Come on who puts cabbage in cashew chicken.

Just had a bad experience... The chicken balls and rice was ok but the chow mein and spare ribs were old and tasted a Little skunky..when I called to let them know that the food had gone bad all I got from them is thank you and hung up...I am disappointed in their customer service.

When we entered this restaurant, there was only two other groups of people who sat staring blankly at their untouched food, not saying a word. It was very odd and we wondered why....then I understood. The food was bland, far from fresh and extremely disappointing. The service was ok, bathrooms were clean but the food was bad. The fried rice we ordered felt like it was leftover from a few days ago with frozen vegetables heated in the microwave. The general tao was too sweet and bland. We had to force ourselves to eat because we were paying and we were hungry but we left extremely disappointed and I am sure the other group of people that were there with their untouched food siting in front of them felt the same way. I would never go back and I'm letting others know that your money is best spent somewhere else.

We have no issues at all with the nice friendly staff, very polite and friendly. But unfortunately when it came to our meal, we weren’t impressed at all. Rice over cooked and no taste, the chow mein was over cooked and tasted really bad. The sauce for chicken balls was very blend, Thai chicken was not the best. First time and last time ever going there. Sorry for the negativity..

The kindest service you could ever ask for, they treat you as family as soon as you walk through the door. The food is amazing, very good portions and lots of items on the menu to choose from! Serves best egg rolls and the Cantonese noodle is terrific! This by far is the best chinese restaurant in town!

Staff not nice. Price is unreasonable high. A pot of tea is $4 while it is free of charge at most of the Chinese restaurants. A bowl of rice is $2.5. Dishes are not delicious at all, cannot even compare to home made dishes. It is not worth your money.

Bought our take out here, fried rice, chow mein and shrimp stir fry. Quantity n price , packibg pretty good but why I went this extra step to rate them is I particularly wanted my dish without the sweet taste n spicy, bingo! These guys made some amazing spicy Chinese ( which I would call Hakka).

We are from Toronto visiting Gananoque for the first time. At dinner , we came to Boston Chinese Restaurant, expecting a real, pleasant food and service as we love to eat Chinese foods in Toronto. To our dismay, first, we ask for chopsticks, the chinese lady brought us something never at least wrap in tissue but wrapped in her bare hands. The way they gave us the plates is soooo funny. Couldn't even describe it. But we ignored it. We laughed it off. Way toooooo different than in Toronto. Then foods came. To our surprised, the serving is much lesser knowing the price. Its okay, we let that go. But when we took a bite, we realised the beef brocolli is so cold that it looks like it was reheated. I was si hungry that i took 3-4 bites but couldn't continue as we are all dissatisfied with the food. Not much left on the plate as the serving is not a lot. We then thought of complaining that the food is not cooked fresh. The server we first talked to, went and talked to this lady and the lady argued with us that they cook fresh all the time. For five minutes, we keep arguing amd insisting that the food is garbage, and it really is. That lady never apologized to us but instead argued firmly with us that its fresh. Her voice was so loud. BOSTON CHINESE RESTAURANT is a pure GARBAGE!!! And even the staff!! Don't know good customer service and professionalism!!! We left after paying, but asked her to come to Toronto to know what freshly cooked foods are and what authentic chinese foods we are talking about. ***Note: we all (6 of us) left hungry and we paid $52 for the GARBAGE!
