Clean and comfortable, friendly staff and a decent breakfast. On par with the other decent hotels in fsj but conviently located within the city center

Stayed here in March during a trip up the Alcan. It was a little pricey, but it turned out to be worth it. The hotel is well maintained and clean. The room was just the right size; it had a bed (King size), a TV, fridge, microwave, and nice bathroom. The fitness room was nice; for a hotel, it had actual weights in the form of dumbbells. The bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. The breakfast was good, coffee and a few hot options, and everything was good. It's right off the highway, so even if your GPS isn't the best, you can find it. I would recommend this place and stay again!

People fighting in the rooms and parking lot. I could hear people up all night coughing. The pillows are very old and worn out as are the bed mattresses. The towels are disgusting and have been used thousands of times they should be replaced. The hotel hallway is disgusting. The paint is peeling away from the outside doors. I don’t recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a clean safe place to stay

The room was immaculate and the front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend.

The atmosphere of the place was very quiet and relaxing. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The furniture in the resteraunt looked as if they were half way through changing it out since half looked new, half looked old, and it was a mish mas of styles. Food was great but a little slow, especially for there only being 2 families in the resteraunt.

I feel 2 stars might be a little too harsh, so I may revise it after some more time staying here. That being said after the first night 2 stars is accurate. I'll say this first. The front desk staff has been super kind and helpful when I've dealt with them. No complaints about customer service. The hotel looks recently updated, but not super well. Many of the finishes look painted over the old stuff or just simply covered. The details are rough. Looking to closely anywhere in the lobby, elevators, or room will expose the true nature of the place which isn't great. The room itself is pretty small. Which manifests itself in the form of very little room between the beds and the wall, and a very small bathroom. The very small bathroom is compounded by a weird layout. The toilet is tucked into a strange corner and not centered in between the counter and the bathtub so it sort of wedge yourself onto it and up against the counter. It's not pleasant. Especially if you're a bigger person which I am. Last but not least. I am sharing my room with a cross shift. Which is common in oil and gas towns. Hotels should be equipped and prepared for this. I let them know this is the case when checking in and then again today when I left for my night shift I mentioned it and gave them instruction of when to clean the room. Like I said, this is normal here. Unfortunately the room wasn't cleaned. I'm sure it will be tomorrow, but this is a pet peeve of mine. It shouldn't take 5 shifts to get the room cleaned in an oil town yet so often it does. Overall, the price is very affordable and the room isn't dirty or gross. It's just small and pretty run down. The staff is friendly and helpful, but fell short on the cleaning schedule. I won't say don't stay here. For the price you could do much worse, but there are better options available too for an extra couple bucks.

Decent breakfeast comfortable bed. Could use some work however and the windows need to be fixed in a bunch of rooms still.

Jeremy Patfield

Older hotel but has been renovated. The price was excellent and the room had all the amenities you'd expect.

The noise coming from both the A/C unit and the mini fridge is absolutely not acceptable. It's SO loud. Free breakfast is good with a large assortment to choose from, friendly lady who was running it. I didn't see any front desk staff for the duration of my stay so I can't comment on that.

Where to start. Stench everywhere, nearly unbearable; dairy farms smell better. Many of our friends had to change rooms because of uncleanliness and even some paraphernalia. The issues with this hotel are countless: Noise in the halls, limited wall plugs, carpet burns, no service at front desk and a free breakfast that only could be served to rodents. Only positive to come out of it was the nickname, “Prison Hotel”; I am happy to report I survived my sentence.

Nice on first glance but the longer you spend here, the more you see it’s not worth the money. Broken laundry; front desk gave wrong breakfast hours (it’s mediocre anyways), they lock the doors to the main parking lot before dark; parking lot spaces are smaller than normal; they censor the internet; mini fridge freezes everything (no internal dial—after hunting I decided to pull it out from under the counter to unplug it, turns out there was the temp adjustment). Not worth a dime over $65. Does allow pets though. After a week here, I was told my dog was registered and I wasn’t in a pet room. This was made clear when the room was booked—my dog was right with me and very obvious when I checked in. $25 fee. I’d pass if you’re booking your own stay in FSJ.
