The best of the greenhouses in the city, won't bother going back to Shelmerdines or T+T when this place has such a variety of healthy plants and is well organized. It is a shame many people don't know about them, especially compared to Shelmerdines who people always seem to go to from around the province. A lot of places only focus on flowers, and not vegetables, but this place has a really great selection of them.

Lacoste always makes me feel excited and happy in early June. The smell of a greenhouse is as therapeutic as any aromatherapy scent out there...the therapeutic feeling ends though as I walk out with an empty wallet. That feeling comes back again when I get home and open my car hatch to see the stunning array of color and perfect little annuals and perennials that I get to add to the garden. Sigh....June can't get here soon enough.

Standing in line, watching carts get sanitized I was very impressed and excited to get inside. Once inside wow there were way too many people. No one distancing or following arrows on the floor just going wherever they want. It was a overall terrible experience and I could not get out of there fast enough. A visit to this garden centre is always a treat. Their selection of tropical a house plants is very good as well as their outdoor plants. The gift shop is a trendy collection of items. Their staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. We were lucky to walk away with only a Yucca plant and a few herbs this time. Finished our visit with a tasty coffee from the Fools & Horses outlet. We will be back!!

Lacoste advertised in the Winnipeg Free press they were selling black cherry begonias plants. I went there to purchase same - staff I encountered did not know what I was talking about. After a fruitless look I begged 2 more staff for help who were rude, condescending, discourteous & treated me indifferently. I will never, ever go back to Lacoste on St. Mary's. Never.

Lacoste is a beautiful, clean and spacious garden centre! The front of the building has been nicely renovated and has a modern look. There is plant decor, clothing, pots and other outdoor accessories in the front area before the greenhouses. I have purchased many tropical houseplants from Lacoste and they are all healthy and beautiful. They sell a wide variety of quality plants!

If i could have given lower than a 1 star rating I would definitley have done it. They're staff are the worst and most ignorant staff I have ever encountered at any of the South greenhouses. I spent $300 in flowers and was handed 3 boxes and told that i had to go pack my own flowers in the parking lot as there were customers waiting in line behind me and than had to go back to ask for extra boxes when there were not enough. I will not be going back there and will also be telling my ridiculous story to everyone that will listen. Absolutely appalling experience in all my years of planting in this city.

Neat place, tons of stock on tropical plants. However, I found that a lot of the plants have crispy edges and couldn't find anything worth the price to take home. There was a large selection on seeds (including some from West Coast Seeds). I bought a couple packs to plant next spring. Nice store but it wasn't worth the trip out.

I have gotten multiple tropical house plants, and nearly every single one was infested with bugs/pests. I was able to save a couple but lost a lot of plants. I have even seen massive infestations of spider mites on plants at the store. Not going back

Prices fair and service friendly. We visited on Mother's day. It was crazy busy. I appreciated that they inventoried our cart while in linefor a faster check out. However, the person in front of us got taken to a shorter line (separate from the main check out line). I suppose they were taking people as one offs to the solo side line / register. Outstanding customer service. We were promptly greeted by staff when we entered their store. And asked if they can help us find anything. We had a list and they proceeded to walk us to each item we wanted. It was really great service. No pressure at all. We reached a point when we needed to deliberate so were left to do that on our own. We had just come from another garden centre on the same street where we were totally ignored. Not even a hello. So the awesome treatment here was so much more appreciated.

Bought 7 yards top soil from it, Horrible !! After spending so much labour, time,seeds, fertilizer and water on it, all I got is weeds!!! The whole front lawn is covered by different types of weeds Which I never had before!! Because the soil is full of weeds seeds! And some smell like cabbage, I think they probably got the soil in the farm and mixed with a little bit of top soil then sold to customers. Now I am very frustrated with the lawn! WON’T BUY ANYTHING FROM LACOSTE ANYMORE!!!

significantly more expensive than the cost of other greenhouses and was treated poorly by staff. guess it depends who's working when you go as I've heard many mixed reviews lately from friends with regards to the treatment of people since the latest health mandates have come into play.

I use a lot of 3/4 down material and out that way have 2 choices. The closest one South of the perimeter I found myself waiting and waiting and waiting to get loaded. Sure I "get" busy and wait my turn but when I'm the only guy in the lot?? Frustrated I tried Lacoste, a wee bit more of a drive but service service service! They use this fancy communication system called a phone and poof the loader guy is at the 3/4 down pile before I can get my truck over there. The "thrifty" Winnipeg'er I am have gone to Ho Depot, Costco, etc.and bought trees, vines, etc. The next year they are dead... I buy at Lacoste and they live and prosper..I'm getting too old to do labor twice, spend the cash on quality products and do it once! I like gardening but.. why do it twice? Great products, Great knowledgeable staff three green thumbs up from me! OH if your still reading I would be remiss if I didn't mention to check out the great pond stuff and abundace of aquatic plants for selection.

Had a recent issue with Ron Paul the first block St.MaryXPerimeter that lead me to go for other supplier Lacoste.. It was interesting purchase transaction by all means.. a decent guy who make it short go pay and come pick.. I paid and he dropped it at my trunk.. Smoot ease and quick… And won’t be the last time.. I found the cost of trees at this garden centre significantly more expensive than the cost of trees at one of the garden centres located on the same stretch of road. The other garden centre also has far more variety of trees; I would highly suggest anyone looking for trees to price check all the garden centres located on this stretch of road before making your decision. The price of the trees at this garden centre are at about 30% more costly, at least. Also one of the other garden centres will deliver your tree based on the size of the tree and not just a flat inflated delivery price.

I love it here! Staff were knowledgeable and things are in stock and very reasonably priced. I've been looking for a monstera plant but for the size I wanted, it would have been $$$! But Lacoste carried several healthy plants for almost half the price. All the plants I get from here are still going strong!

Went to Lacoste Garden Centre after coming from another garden centre and receiving absolutely no assistance. I'm glad I did. The set up was beautiful, found exactly what I wanted, and was offered help by each employee who passed my way.
