We hired this company at the beginning of the summer to take care of our lawn. They came and poked holes in our lawn and left. At the time of arrival, nobody was home so they just began working. Once I did come home I spoke with one of the workers who gave me short answers. I proceeded to go inside my home and go about my business. After a few hours passed I went to check on them and they were gone. I went out to inspect the work and immediately messaged my boyfriend to see exactly what they were supposed to do, because upon expection the only thing I saw done was holes were poked in the lawn (idk how to spell the actual word for this). On top of poking the holes they were suppose to dethatch and fertilize; which was never done. After two weeks we noticed no change in our lawn so we called another company who came and did the proper work. About a month after Aurora Property Maintenance showed up we finally received a bill from them...for $300. My boyfriend and I both found this totally ridiculous. Well last week these people were over doing our neighbors lawn and they approached my boyfriend stating he never paid. He told them he wasn’t paying them for not doing any work. Well the day after I noticed weird white and blue little pellet looking things spread all around our front lawn. We have two dogs so I immediately became concerned as to what it was and who did it. I picked it up and to me it looks like the salt you use to melt snow. Two days ago I noticed that where the salt was spread the grass had died and I also realized the salt was very diliberately spread as the now dead grass spells the word “dick”. I am appalled. I am also not saying what my boyfriend did was right, but rather than destroying someone’s lawn they could’ve come to the house and spoken to another person living here. I am far more understandable and perhaps I would’ve offered to pay half of what was owed because like my boyfriend I did not believe that $300 was an acceptable amount for the little work that was done. It is one thing to overcharge and not do the work hired for, but it is another thing to deliberately destroy someone’s property. As a company they should’ve taken the bill to collections or something else. I will never work with these people again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone else.
