Lumber desk is usually very good Cashier luck can be good or excruciating slow. The cashiers have to do phones as well so that leaves paying customers to wait. Then the sku #s seem to be wrong or an issue half the time for all in line. Then one cashier tried up with it work order and an I voice issue. Then staff running back and forth. Then paging staff that don't answer. Get a better sku system and customer service possible at checkout

so, all the wood and ply materials i needed for my DIY camper build, i got from here and i also asked them to pre-cut them for me. the staff os always helpful, specially to an inexperienced crafter like myself. the selections of wood is wide and you can see them in display. added bonus is that they are open on saturdays, so i am able to buy needed materials too. compared to another shop in town, the prices are cheaper here and as i have said, people are alot more helpful too.

We have been dealing with McMunn and Yates for over 9 years back when they were McDiarmid Lumber with our home renovations. The whole time dealing with them customer service has been fantastic, the staff that I dealt with went above and beyond and I really appreciate that. The staff in the yard were extremely helpful as well. We got spoiled by that great service, so we expected the same when dealing with getting our counter tops and that unfortunately was not the case. The person involved with the counters came to our house an hour late (she texted 2 mins before she was supposed to be at our house that she was going to be late) and measured. My husband gave her detailed instructions on what cuts he wanted for the counter because of our island being big and required more to it than a straight forward counter. Unfortunately it took over a month to come in and the cuts were wrong, she came and re-measured and said she will put a "rush" on this. Well the "rush" was again over 4 weeks and it was the wrong pattern that we wanted for the counter. Again she came and looked and put another "rush" on the correct pattern and the correct cut. Throughout all of this when my husband would try and make contact, through text, voice mails and messages she never replied and resulted with us contacting head office in Dauphin and we made a formal complaint. Apparently this isn't the first time that someone has commented on how the service was atrocious when dealing with counters/cabinets. We should have went with the local counter/cabinetry company, in the end it would have only cost us $500 more than McMunn.

Made me load 14, 3/4 inch birtch plywood by myself, that was located inside the store. I wasnt impressed. The yard and barn are a mess, not sure how they find anything. Lots of stuff getting damaged because of the mess.

Just the worst! I have been going to this store location in one form or another for 35 years and it is getting intolerable. Things are mixed up and seldom in correct areas and dont ask for advice. Was looking for circuit breakers and was told "it doesnt matter. They're all the same". Looking for a lumber cart? "They're out side somewhere in the parking lot" . Everytime I've been there for the past two summers I walk out swearing that I'll never go back. Just tried installing some drawer slides and ended up with a collection of same sides and varying lengths. I'm done! Hello Home Hardware and Home Depot (it's worth it to haul it from Winnipeg)

By FAR the worst hardware store in North America. I have experienced how bad service is in Kenora, but McMunn and Yates in Kenora takes it to another level. How the heck this place is still in business boggles the mind. The management should be fired and the owners should come to see how poorly run this place is run. They are one thing....consistent in the service. I wish I could give NO stars.

Called multiple times on many separate occasions this past month and was greeted with the "store is currently closed" recording. Tge store has been open on all the occasions I called. I left a message with my name, number and reason for calling. Nobody has returned my calls. Very disappointed with this stores decline in customer service at the office level.

A bit of a rough patch after the sale of North American Lumber BUT the change of ownership was needed and things seem to he ironed out now. A lot more options now and products that are on display. Staff have always went out of their way to help us out instore or on the phone.

We ordered a shower from here about a month ago and it did not come with the walls. After a conversation with one of the employees named Darcy, he ordered another shower for us so that we would have all the parts. The second shower arrived, and also did not have walls. Darcy not only told me he was picking up the walls personally the next day, but also wrote off the entire shower for us. Excellent customer service.

I have always had great service until the other day. I went to purchase some smart panels. I was told they had none in stock. I asked if I were to order when would it be in? He expresses that my guess was as good as his...... really??????? So I called mcMunn in Fort frances. They told me they had 66 sheets!!! She checked to see if Kenora had some just to see if they were available locally!!!!!! What great service. The sales guy in kenora didn't even check to see if there were any available at other stores. Needless to say we went to fort frances!!! And purchased additional items there as well.

McMunn & Yates staff excellent people to deal with. Management at McMunn & Yates are very eager to help you in any way possible. I've been shopping at the store for many years and could not find any reason to say anything negative about the management or service.

Unorganized and incompetent would be the best way to describe McMunn and Yates. Made a small special order for siding after my initial order came up short. When I went in to pick it up I waited around in 45 mins in the lumber yard while they went to look for it. Told me they would find it and they would deliver it and two days later I found out it was lost and it would be reordered. Had to call in to find out that it would be ordered and take a week. After a week and a half I found out that it was delayed and take another week. Then finally get in to pick it up and they had double charged for the order. Stood around for 25mins while the cashier tried to refund it and was told they couldn't refund the order until the next day. Told the cashier that I would need the refund in cash while I'm at the store. After that the cashier start a flipping out and screaming about how its not her problem and to take it up with someone else. Clearly she felt enabled by management to scream at customers in front of a bunch of a bunch of people. Thanks Mcmunn but I won't spend another dollar at your store.

The guys inside are good to deal with but some of the outside workers are just whatever, non friendly and don’t give you directions if you can drive out or have to back out!! You need to clean your yard I’ve had two flat tires from your messy backyard!!! Next time I’m going to give you the bill instead of using my tire warranty!!!!! You also Need is signage of One way in and Out only for back yard and contractors who have massive trailers should be parking more out of the way and don’t act like you own the driveway!

We've been looking for an item that was not on the shelf, Being play looked in their storage area pic not find any. Is computer said they had 4 in stock. We left our phone Numbers and the employees said that he would phone as soon as he found the Item. It has been 2 weeks we have heard nothing.

Bought a shower kit which they had in Stock at the store. Got home and the door was the wrong size and didn't come with any hardware. Had to order it in. The order was lost for weeks. Finally talked to the Manager and he took the order. Lost again for weeks. Assured me i would receive a call. No call. Once again back to the store to reorder. Finally got the shower door 4 months later. Opened the box to see the glass design was clear and not raindrop as I had ordered even though it said so on the box. Exhausted I'm not taking it back. I'm just going to shop at home hardware from now on. Fine if you're buying items in the store but I would not recommend ordering items in. Just a headache
