This Gardener belongs to the category of Garden center.
Knowledgeable and friendly owner with competitive prices. Great plant nursery that specializes in succulents. They have plants that aren't commonly available at flower shops and garden stores in the GTA. I picked up a number of Haworthia succulents here and will be returning to add even more plants to my collection. Well worth visiting.
Succulent heaven ????
THE BEST place to get healthy grown succulents in the GTA. Way better than succuterra. The customer care and service is amazing. They also provide excellent knowledge about the plants themselves and how they were grown! You must check them out!
Positive experiences. So far I have gotten about 13 succulents from them, and each has been beautiful. This company's best part, is the fast shipping. Depending on which day you place your order, its possible to arrive right the next day! I think they ship out once a week (but I could be wrong). But even if your order takes 6 days to arrive, the succulents did not sit in a box for 6 days. The succulents were just sent out 5 days after your order (that was just an example). The fee for the express shipping is worth it if you think of it that way; at least your succulents didn't sit in a box for a long time. What I am most happy, and impressed about, is their varity. Such a huge collection! So many to choose from. That is absolutely the BEST part. If possible though, I might of taken away half a star for "thin stems"????. They seem to have young succulents? So majority of the succulents I had received, were young, really thin stems. (I had to use coffee stir sticks and make "crutches" for my mini plants, to make the thin stem stronger & to extend stem . But not all; a couple of them came with better stems. And it could be just the ones I had chosen? All in all, I would definitely want to buy again, and would definitely recommend.
Received my order of plants a week ago and I am impressed. They arrived quickly and carefully packaged and are settling in well. The plants are healthy and larger than I expected--I truly feel I got more than I paid for!
Wonderful selection and great service! Has a lot of hard to find variety at a great price.
I stumbled upon this place by accident, while looking for GTA nurseries that specialize in succulents. I decided to book an appointment to 'browse' their nursery in person, which was done seamlessly online through their website via square, which immediately sent a notification to my phone of the appointment time. When I arrived, it was not at all what I expected. The nursery is actually the owner's business, which she runs out of her own home. The backyard is entirely converted for growing, propagating/cultivating a huge variety of succulents and some other plants. The variety is phenomenal and the prices are very competitive. The plants all look very lush and healthy. Be aware though - because they are grown outdoors, the owner cannot guarantee they are free of any normal garden pests. Per her advice, I am isolating my purchases from my other plants for 2 weeks and will need to check to any mealy bugs or spider mites, etc.
We were greeted by a super friendly owner. She offered a couple of tips when I told her my succulents kept dying from over-watering. (The reason for my visit). And we were just amazed by a variation of succulents available in the greenhouse. They all look very healthy and well taken care of. We ended up with a pachyphytum ganzhou. Knock on wood, but if I ever over-water again, I would definitely pay another visit here.
I found 'grow something' on google when I wanted favours for my friends couple shower. Using their comprehensive site, I was able to purchase 30 random cuttings and set a time for pick up via text message. On the day of the pick up, I was able to select my healthy cuttings and bring them home in a provided box. Excellent service and I was tempted many times to purchase the other beautiful succulents and cactus before leaving. I will definitely be back in the future!
Been here twice now ....trust me she has the best variety of succulents in the WHOLE OF GTA....And here prices are also very affordable. ...can't wait to go back again to buy more...and I am the kind of person who will usually review only if I really love the place for the quality of products or services they are offering.
I have been here twice within a month and bought 13 plants in total. I’m giving four stars because of the very different experience each time. First time the young owner was really helpful and took her time helping me find the specific plants I wanted and answering my care questions. The most recent time she seemed impatient (“oh you guys are still here” and “are you ready to check out yet”). I understand that everyone has off days so I will give this place another try and re-evaluate. On the plus side this place has the best selection of hard-to-find succulents and is reasonably priced (about $6-12 for most individual plants and $20+ for larger groups of plants or arrangements). So far all my plants are still alive and growing well.
Came across this place via Google and was pleasantly surprised by the selection and pricing! Owner was super nice and knowledgeable about each succulent. We ended up grabbing 6 small succulents for just under $20. Will be back again for sure :)
I love this place. Amazing selection and an even better zen space. Very helpful, I would highly recommended this garden.
I visited on the weekend during their drop-in hours of 12:00-6:00pm. I knocked on the front door and was promptly told to make my way to the back via the path on the side. Run out of a backyard, I was amazed at how many plants there were to choose from. They really make the most out of their yard space: air plants, sedum, and sempervivum plants along the fence toward the backyard; a greenhouse in the middle housing most of the plants for sale; and a mini garden of sorts behind the greenhouse that's kind of off-limits to customers where I think they nurture some larger not-for-sale plants for pleasure and pre-sale-size plants. The greenhouse has three layers of plants and the selection is really impressive. Visually, the plants look well taken care of and it's difficult to step inside and resist the urge to buy one of everything. I was impressed with how some plants were not for sale, i'm assuming, because they hadn't grown large enough as I was told they weren't ready for sale. While it'd be easy to make a quick buck, I appreciated the care in presenting the best version of the plants for sale. I picked up a few plugs at $2.75 each, baby toes (which I'd been struggling to find elsewhere), split rock, and a few other plants. For the variety they carry in a relatively small space, I was pleased with the prices, with the larger plants, I think, being a better deal considering how slowly succulents grow. They have a website, which is a great indicator of what they have to offer and prices. The owner is a graphic designer as well, which explains the sleek and modern aesthetic. While the location is a bit far for me, I would definitely recommend Grow Something for their great selection and prices.
I was happy with most of the plants I bought here, however, the large sedum hanging basket I purchased still had wet soil a week after I brought it home. Upon inspection I found that it was planted in improper soil and root rot had already started to set in. Fungas gnats were also discovered. It wasn't exactly cheap either. I expect this from a plant purchased at Home Depot but was hoping for better from a local nursery. Hopefully some of the cuttings will survive.
I finally found a place that sells Ceropegia Woodii! None of my nurseries nearby had carried any or even knew what the plant was as well I was looking online and this is the only place in Ontario that I could find that sold this type of plant. It has beautiful verigated leaves with pink undersides. Thank you so much, I can’t wait to see this baby grow!
They have a decent selection of succulents but I have found better prices elsewhere. Very hard to communicate with after purchase.
Very friendly service. She really knows her plants and helps you make the right choice. If I need more succulents, I know where I'll go!
First time buyer, the owner is accommodating with pick up time and easy to communicate. Love the “bear paw” so much!!!!
very knowledgeable staff... small frontage but large back end... would recommend
Amazing place! If you like succulents, this is the place to go! Prices are great and there's an overflow of knowledge of how to keep your plant. 10/10 would go again and again and again.
Came a little early last saturday and ended up waiting for the owner Di to open the doors to her mini shop! Let me just say the wait was WELL WORTH IT! One of the best if not THE BEST place to find rare and hard to find succulents and cacti in Toronto. Her prices were also great, some babies went for around $3.50+ and bigger succulents for $6+. Ended up getting around 20+ succulents/cacti with the friend I brought with me. The amount of plants she has is crazy and i'm still amazed by the variety she carries. Very very nice lady and very accommodating as well. Here's a few pics of the succulents I have gotten from her. She probably has whatever succulents you have been looking for! Would definitely recommend to any plant lover and for sure coming back with more family and friends!
The plants I received are healthy and they have gorgeous colours. This is the first online plant order I've received that made me say wow when I when I saw it
we spent $800 on succelents for party favors but would never come back here again. dont be fooled, they dont grow any plants here..they buy succelents from farms nearby and sell them in their tiny backyard. the lady was rude and throughout the 20 minutes we were their picking them out refused to help us out. she even took some of the succelents we picked away because she wanted to save them for others. Then she insisted we pay cash instead of credit. i told her i would rather pay with credit and she got mad at me. if you are reading this go to another store!
The best place to get succulents! So many to choose from!
I received my Graptoveria Fred Ives yesterday and was not disappointed. Succulents where packed nicely and secure. Plant had stress colours. I ordered online and received my order with in a week. Very quick. Also to my surprise, I received 2x plants and some pubs... thank you much appreciated. I recommend this store for anyone looking for succulents, they have a very wide selection. Thanks again Diana. I do plan on ordering more.
Gorgeous garden with really high quality succulents! Pretty friendly and nice person????
I don't exactly remember how I found this little succulent haven but I am glad I did. I brought my friend a long with my and she picked up some succulents too. Diana has a large variety of succulents to choose from and you can check out everything she has on her website.
I bought 2 times from this store (on line, I'm from Montreal) and I'm completely obsessed with my plants. I noticed that most of the succulents are from adult plants, so they are chubby, colorful and not so sensible as the baby succulents we find at the market. The owner let the roots dry before packing, so as soon that I receive them I can plant and all the babies are individually packed so they arrive in a really good shape. I bought around 9 or 10 succulents and all of them are healthy and beautiful.
I've started to appreciate succulents and stringed varieties and found Grow Something by chance when I googled succulents. Love the selection. Friendly and relaxed place to visit and look around. Ended up buying more!
I got two beautiful haworthias...and I live pretty far away. They arrived safe.... amazingly and lovingly packaged! The heat pack was still warm. They are potted and looking great. Thank you! I will be shopping again!
This place is awesome. Great prices and super helpful. Helped me pick a couple plants based on the windows/lighting I describe at home. I'll be back for sure.
Best place to go if you're looking for succulents. I've been to most of the plant stores and the qualities there are the best I could find in Toronto! I wish I could live in there xD
Friendly service and great selection
