We engaged Green Tree this spring to complete a yard makeover for our home in Spruce Grove. Working with Zac, we came up with a front yard and back yard design that we loved. For budgeting reasons, we had to limit our work this year to the front yard landscaping and a new stamped concrete sidewalk. Once the work started, Eric and his crew worked diligently to complete the work. Eric kept us informed of progress and worked with us to iron out all of the details of the work. Most of the work was done while we were away at work, but Eric kept both us and our neighbors very happy during the execution of the work. We are very pleased with the end result and feel the curb appeal of our home has increased 1000%. We will revisit the plans Zac developed for our backyard landscaping and if our budget allows, we hope that we can proceed next year with Green Tree to complete the makeover there too.

I am old-school. I prefer natural grass over turf, but my wife and I had to make a decision after adopting two black labs. Dogs are BAD for grass, so we went to Greentree for help in getting artificial turf. They gave us some advice and they designed something AMAZING for our backyard. Then the crews came in and completely overhauled our backyard into something that makes our neighbours envious! It was quite an investment, but it's worth it. The entire team full of dedicated and friendly staff who are more than happy to work and stay in your budget. I am very happy with Greentree and I can't thank them enough for their solid craftsmanship -- especially with their help in our sidewalk ways. Thank you, Greentree!

I don't know if they're good or bad but all I know is that they lied to French economic immigrants about their pay and offered them minimum wage, when they landed, even though they were offered more per hour before coming, so I just wouldn't want to deal with a company that does that.

I'll start off by saying the work that the installer did was excellent, we love the way our backyard works and would (and will) hire the installer back in a heartbeat. But buyer beware: 1. The only contact we had from the site manager was to send me a final bill. At no point was I asked how things were going and if I was satisfied with the work. 2. They highball the amount of material used and only changed it to actual material used on the final bill because I called them out on it. 3. There were material delays of several days, and what I could tell based on conversations with the installer it was due to incompetence, meaning our project took 3 times longer than necessary. 4. The contract they give you, make sure you have in writing what each section means or they will dispute if you challenge them. 5. They say the don't use subcontractors but that's what everyone who worked on my backyard was (they all had their own companies) 6. Question what their "Tool Package" is, they charged me ALOT for storing 3 shovels, 2 rakes, a tamper and cement mixer in my backyard. Worst of all these weren't Greentree's supplies they were owned and brought by the installer they subcontracted my job out to. 7. NEVER EVER let them put a "just in case we need to do it" into your contract. We did, and despite the fact that they didn't need to do the "just in case" they adjusted the wording on the final version and told us that they worded it wrong on our copy so we ended up having to pay for work they didn't do. 8. The material they have on the floor in their show room is misleading, it's not what it will look like in your yard, they put some type of lacquer on it so it looks darker and shinier. Overall very happy with our backyard only because the subcontractor did such an excellent job, but we would not recommend Greentree to anyone. If you decide to hire them please read the above and leverage the lessons we learned so your experience can be better than ours.

Working with Cory to explore the options before we even started was an exciting and engaging process. Eric (onsite project manager) was knowledgeable, professional and helpful. He handled my concerns about drainage and winter's freeze and thaw well. The only issue I had was that communication from the office side completely dropped off once the deal was signed - I didn't know when the crew was arriving to start the job until I reached out to ask, I never knew when they would show up or not, and was asked to give direction and clarification by text to the office project manager. I found it difficult to give accurate levels of detail by text. Overall though, Eric did a wonderful job

Winter was fast approaching and we still had a couple projects that we wanted finished before the snow fell. We wanted a unique fence built for our backyard. Dave constructed it beautifully and in a timely manner. We were also having difficulty finding someone to do a railing for our front steps as it was quite a small job. Dave was so helpful and was more than willing to do it for us and had both projects started and completed within one week!! He was very flexible and open to our suggestions on how we wanted the finished product to look. We also appreciated Jesse's time and help coordinating our projects with Greentree Landscaping. Eric and his crew replaced our sidewalks, removed a dying 60' birch tree, replaced our lawns with new sod, regraded all of our elevations to proper grade for drainage, planted trees, shrubs and perennials. All work was done on time and looks beautiful!! Nathan of "Turf Irrigation" did a great job of installing a full irrigation system including drip nozzles for all the plants. Thanks guys.

So far we have had a very pleasant experience with Greentree. We contacted them when we decided to do landscaping this spring. Zac was our designer and he did such a beautiful job designing our yard. He really listened to our ideas and gave us great advice along the way. He was easy to communicate with and made sure that we were happy with the design in the end. I was then put in contact with Avery who went to the nursery with me to pick out all of the plants that we chose. She was so friendly and took her time to help me with the plants. It was a great experience. Next, Kabil and his team came to our house to start the landscaping process. They worked extremely hard 7am-9pm 8 days straight. Kabil is a perfectionist and a master at his job. He was also easy to communicate with and made sure that we were 100% happy with all of his work. We had a few concerns and small hick-ups along the way but Kabil made sure that everything was perfect in the end. I could recommend Kabil and his team anytime. Our project is taking longer than expected but at least it is done well with high quality. We are currently waiting for the carpentry team to start on our deck and then it will all be finished. Tihbaut and his team finished our deck and we are extremely happy and pleased with the end result. Tibhbaut was friendly and respectful and he is a very talented carpenter. We had a couple of minor things that needed attention after they finished and he responded quickly and fixed it immediately. Good work ethic. We are happy customers.

There's something special when you hire a landscaping company to redo your front walk and they exceed your expectations. Kabil and his crew just left our house and we're still buzzing about their amazing work. Kabil, the landscaping foreman, made sure we were informed about every step of their progress, letting us know if they had to stop because of weather and consulting with us about little hiccups they discovered as they were working. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the work that was done, right down to clearing the front garden of our plants so we didn't have to do it. He also used some concrete to fix a problem that the City had caused. No request was too small for him and his crew, and they all did their jobs with a smile. If you look at the work site now, you wouldn't even know they were here. They cleaned up after themselves and left behind an amazing new walkway that we are going to enjoy for years to come. I recommend Greentree. To honest, they were great from start to finish. Our designer, Zac, helped come up with something that we loved. Nick, the operations manager, was great in helping us navigate a problem with the City that kept our project on track. If you can, ask for Kabil to be your labour foreman. He's the best!

I first encountered Greentree Landscaping as a neighbour to someone who was getting work done in their yard. A giant truck pulled up and parked alongside my yard. And then piles of rock and dirt also appeared -- again, alongside my yard. I am a fussy lawn person, so I was worried that the materials and bobcat would end up messing up my lawn that I had worked so hard to revive this year. I was *so* impressed with how professional the crew was and spent an extra 20-30 minutes at the end of their day to sweep up debris and remove any spillage from my lawn and the road. They kept their work area meticulous and at the end of a month-long project -- the road and lawn were absolutely as they found it -- perfect. I was so grateful to see the care they put into their cleanup -- I called the company and spoke with Corey the owner. GREAT GUY. I am planning on utilizing their services when we are ready to build a new porch. Highly recommend!

We had Greentree remove the old sod and topsoil from our backyard. They did a regrade, placed trailer parking blocks and laid new sod. We were originally told it could be a couple of months before they could start due to being busy - but the weather cooperated and they squeezed us in. Great work, timing was perfect and cost efficient. Communication from Greentree was always there and kept us up to speed on the progress. Greentree took no money from us until the job was complete and Zac did the inspection with us and answered our questions. Do I recommend Greentree? Yes.

Worked two years for those liars, immigration fraud, using temporary workers in closed visa and not paying overtime, those people are the worst. They were asking us to "lower our work quality", always less hour to do the job, no love for the living things they are working with, the only thing they want is your money. They just got hit by the immigration, beginning of November 2018 because a lot of people in the company took actions against them after not being payed, they should not be able to hired temporary foreign workers anymore after that. To make it short, avoid those guys as much as possible they are only after your money. All the five star review you'll see down here are pretty much fake, the boss is giving money for them, so every foreman is pushing the customer to do so. I've never seen a company doing that much guarantees, there was always a problem with something, poor inner organisation, project manager was a total joke... make yourself a gift, there is a lot of other landscaping company on Edmonton, don't choose this one.

I Love this company. Very professional and they know what they're doing. I had my entire yard gutted and re-done. The crew was totally amazing and extremely accommodating. After the Sod was laid they noticed the mailman was walking on the new Sod they came over to my home and put up barriers. The stone feature and stone boarders they created were exactly what I wanted. The initial stone that came to the house was not what I envisioned, and they had absolutely no problem changing it immediately. Jesse Schnell designed exactly what my imagination conjured up and Avery assisted me with the selection of Trees and Shrubs making sure that what I ordered was appropriate for our cold climate. Nic Viksich ensured the design was carried out to perfection and even called me to make sure I was watering my new grass. Kabil and his crew were absolutely the hardest working crew I have ever watched. The weather was cold, snowing, raining and they pushed through. I got tired just watching. They made sure the whole area was cleaned up everyday. They were very attentive and friendly, a pleasure to get to know. Their attention to the details and finishing are second to none. Dealing with this company makes you feel almost like family. I would recommend and use them again and again. Nice work Guys!!!

We were getting tired of the maintenance required for our old and overgrown front and back yards including the yearly upkeep on the wooden deck. We approached Greentree after seeing their trucks in the neighbourhood and speaking with a rep at a kiosk in Southgate Mall. We're sooooooo glad we did. Corey designed a complete front to back project that completely suited our needs and personal preferences for relaxation. Jon and his crew (Josh, Nicolas, Yann and CB) were amazing - a day over three weeks to completely tear out everything and create our oasis. Stone patio with arbors, irrigation system, lighting, dry riverbeds, a bubbler in front and a fountain in back. Courteous, friendly, great humour, wonderful creativity - it was a pleasure to see them each day. I would definitely recommend this company and particularly this team.

At our first meeting with Gord and Zac, Zac was able to make computer drawings on the fly based on a plot plan and dreams, and show us what our yard could be. They had a lot of insightful suggestions for our mature lot. Sebastien and Josh worked long hours and at least one Sunday to get the rough grade and retaining walls done. The concrete crew Fabrice and Eric gave us a beautiful and functional patio and sidewalk. Doug did a skillful job of laying the sod and installing the edging Bryan's simple fence design defined our property without overstating it. We especially love the wrap around stairs he made for the back door, which have become a main focal point for the backyard. Kenan was an attentive operations manager who was easily reachable with concerns. The project took longer than expected because the City is more strict with mature neighbourhoods. Overall I feel we got the best quality and pride in work for the money.

We had landscaping done in June of 2018. Was nice work and done quickly. Unfortunately there was some drainage issues the following spring 2019. Nick came out and took a look, told us someone would contact us towards the end of May. Well it’s now April 2020 and we are still waiting for the call. We put in a patio that turns into a pool every spring. Thanks for following through with your warranty coverage.

We hired Greentree to do redo most of our backyard. The work entailed removing the grass in the yard and replacing with artificial turf as well as a stone deck. We were told it would take about 6-8 weeks for the work to begin. However, within 10 days or so we were told the job could begin. Kabil, the foreman, came over to tell us the process and how long it would take for the job to complete. The crews showed up each day at around the same time and the job was done in a few days. The crew was polite and friendly. Kabil was very approachable and provided answers to any queries we had. Once the work was complete, the crew did a good job of clean-up. The landscaping looks excellent - we love it. The only issue we had was that the lights we bought had a fault. One of the lights would not come on. Kabil had to come back once and I explained the problem. He tried to repair it but it did not correct the issue. When I noted that the light was still not functioning, he came back a few days later and was able to correct the problem. The work was then complete. Thank you to Zach, Nick, Kabil and the crew for the work. We look forward to many hours outside in our newly refreshed back yard!

For many years, I had wanted to spruce up my tired front garden. I had tried approaching individual contractors but found them to be unreliable and/or extremely expensive. I decided to use a landscaping company that could handle all aspects of the project. I had the good fortune of having Zac Marks from Green Tree come out to discuss my needs. He listened carefully to what I wanted and measured my lot. That first visit lasted an hour. He then returned with a drawing of what he understood my vision to be. Zac provided a quote that was in line with my budget, and the final cost didn’t change from the initial agreement. Several visits followed where we fine-tuned the project. The project began some weeks later and was finished quickly and efficiently. Several months after the project was completed, a brick came loose in my front step. Green Tree came out quickly and fixed the step. In summary, I now have a garden that I love. Zac listened to what I wanted and gave me informed options as to what was possible. Work was completed efficiently and on time. Appropriate follow-up was provided. I would, and have, recommended Zac and Greenland to others to complete their landscaping projects.

Our landscaping was just finished by Greentree today and we are happy from start to finish. We discovered them from their display in Southgate mall and decided to reach out for a consultation. They were quick to respond and within a few days, our designer, Zac Marks, visited our home to identify our landscaping requirements. A week later, he provided us design options which we loved as they captured exactly what we were looking for. The 3D design also helped us visualize how it will come to life. The next process was working with Kenan Derbent who coordinated us with Nick's crew for the landscaping install. Nick's crew were a pleasure to work with onsite. They are very polite, professional and do a high quality of work. I've attached pictures of the completed work. We are very happy with our landscaping and are excited to enjoy it for the long weekend. I will be recommending Greentree to our friends and family.

Had a quote booked and I'm still waiting on the quote a month later. Three other companies provided quotes within a week and all I hear are excuses with new promised delivery dates that are never met. So far all I've seen the company do is spam my neighborhood claiming they are working in the area. Definitely not at my place if they can't even do a simple quote. So your comment back to me is that you have a showroom to do the quote. Basically your staff misinformed us as to what would be provided for weeks.

Every detail of the work was attended to by Greentree and they even assisted us with choosing plants for the landscaping. All of these individuals took great pride in their work and this is reflected in the end product which is impressive and so very satisfying. The work ethic was exemplary and the site was immaculately cleaned at the end of each day. We are so very grateful to these individuals and have no hesitation in recommending them.

We had reached out to a number of landscaping companies in mid to late 2016, about landscaping for our backyard in 2017. Most companies never responded, few did but Greentree was the only company who responded to us in timely and in a very professional manner. We met with Zac from Greentree, who helped us with our landscaping design and modified our design to fit our needs. He answered all of our questions and gave us suggestions and direction to make our yard really beautiful. He provided us with a quote for the design and reviewed all aspects of the quote. Fantastic!!! A month earlier than planned, Zac and Nick (Jobsite Manager) walked throught the property and reviewed what needed to get done, confirmed any changes and reviewed how the property would be accessed to provide the work. The next week work started. Nick provided a clear, concise play-by-play of what we were to expect and managed the team very very well. All workers wore vests at all times to keep them highly visible for safe working conditions. Our property was respected and great care was taken to leave the site clean at the end of each workday and updates were given daily on where on the timetable the job was. Any defects or errors on the job that I had noticed were immediately addressed and rectified. Nick treated his team with respect and always gave guidence to keep the job running smooth. The front of the house and street area was kept neat and organized to minimize impact to our neighbours during construction. Soil, gravel, plants, mulch arrived and was moved in smooth and efficient manner. We were highly impressed at the professionalism and efficiency of Nick and his team, and the company, as a whole. From start to finish, the job went as promised and we were delivered a fantastic end product. I would highly recommend Greentree to anyone who needs landscaping work done, big or small.

When hiring a company to do some work on our home there is always some nervousness and concern that the job will not turn out as you envision. We wanted the poured in place concrete front steps freshened. We worked with Jesse who designed the new look with stone tile and stone veneer. Eric T. was the technician who did the work for us. We were impressed with his attention to detail, ensuring the stone work was perfectly aligned (which is a bit of a trick on 35 year old concrete stairs). We also found Eric to be a thoughtful person who takes great pride in his work. We are extremely happy with the work and amazed at how much difference there is in the appearance of our home with the new stairs and railing completed. We have been dreaming of landscaping our front yard for many years now, but could not figure out how to work around the giant dead space that lay under the neighbouring evergreen, as well as incorporating our neighbours yard into the flow as we live in a duplex. Corey from Greentree was the answer for us! Corey took the time to design the yard of our dreams by meeting us at our home and listening to all of our random and convoluted ideas of our vision. He has a knack at putting both yours and his ideas into a beautiful 3D model, so that we too can see the beauty his artistic mind has dreamt. The planning process was smooth and never rushed; they were able to accommodate our busy work schedule and meet with us in the evenings; Gord was phenomenal at being able to give an amazingly accurate cost to our plan; and our planning sessions often felt more like hanging out with friends, instead of the potentially overwhelming situation it could have been. My husband and I had done our own landscaping in our back yard years ago, and knowing how much the cost of materials were for that, along with the months of back breaking work; we found the cost of Greentree to be very fair and reasonable. The landscaping team were hard workers and very efficient. Any concerns that arose during the work were addressed quickly and we were informed of any areas of potential extra cost before they went ahead with the work. We found the entire Greentree company to be completely transparent and are looking forward to working with them again in the future to add the final touches to our back yard. The assistance with the design alone is worth meeting with Cory, but the experience we had with the company as whole will make us repeat customers.

We were initially very excited to have some work done in our small yard. We did our research and saw all the positive reviews of Greentree and decided to go with them. After the first couple meetings(one at our place and the other in the office) with the designer, we were quite impressed. After this point things started going downhill fast. We were stood up twice for meet ups before the work started. Not great, but they promised all would be good and our yard would look amazing. So, we soldiered on. Then it came time for the work to start. We were told it was a very simple job and it would take 2, maybe 3 days maximum. We were just having a small patio, stair landing and 2 beds with edging and landscape rock and some stepping stones installed. A crew showed up on a Monday and began work. They worked for 3 days, and then disappeared for 5. No notification or update for us. Just our yard torn apart and material left all over our front street. After numerous texts and phone calls, we finally got ahold of someone. They would be back a.s.a.p. and make it all good. No one from Greentree ever returned our texts or calls. We found out at this point that the crew doing our yard weren't even Greentree employees. They were contractors. No one ever mentioned this to us. We were left to figure it out on our own. Crew finally came back, and worked away. There were multiple problems and issues. The quality of the work was sub-par. Many things were done wrong, or poorly and had to be redone, some up to 3 times! We were so upset by this point. We reached out to Greentree once more, but again were given the cold shoulder. In the end it took over 3 weeks for them to finish. By this time there was a lot of damage done to our lawn, and we were still not completely happy. The quality of the work was very poor, and you can only ask so many times to have them fix the same thing. At this point I just wanted them out of our yard, and all their equipment etc gone. The supposed 2/3 day job had dragged on long enough and our dog wanted her yard back! We were exhausted with trying to deal with the company and these contractors. We thought we would cut our loses and hopefully negotiate a reasonable discount on the quoted price, due to all the trouble and horrible customer service. Boy were we wrong. It was amazing though how quickly they came sniffing around for their check once the workers had left. Couldn't be bothered to return a phone or text before, but were right on top of collecting money. The "discount" they offered was pathetic and unsatisfactory. Oh, they also offered us some shrubs or a boulder. When I pressed them for a better discount, I was told we had a signed contract for that price. Overall it was a terrible experience and caused us a great deal of stress. We were super unhappy with the customer service aspect of this job. The quality of our yard work was quite poor considering the reputation of Greentree. The only reason I gave one star is because our designer was quite good and the products they use are of nice quality. Everything else on our job was extremely disappointing.

Corey, John and the crew made everything worry free. I will be recommending them to anyone I know who needs help. A yard started as a disaster zone after winter with two dogs playing in the snow. Corey designed out space based on what ideas we had. He made recommendations based on experience and yard size. We expected the crew in June but they were able to move us up to just before the long weekend in May. The crew explained how things were going and got most of the job done a lot quicker than we even expected. There is one section to go but we have to wait for the infill next door to do their final grading. Infill finally finished grading last year (2018). so we made the call to get our job finished. It was quickly arranged and done within two days. It looks great! Our dogs love the various areas created in the backyard to play and hang out while we enjoy a backyard fire by our garage. I want to state clearly, given the poor reviews stating everyone giving 5 star reviews are employees, I am not an employee or former employee or know anyone personally at Greentree Outdoor Living. We came across them at a Home and Garden Show.

We were very excited to get landscaping done and were pleased with the plan proposed. Work was started promptly. Unfortunately, the work was taking longer than anticipated and a new job was being started so there was some back and forth between other jobs, thus taking more time to complete. The communication with design was limited after starting the project and no site visits until I expressed concerns. Things were not developing as I had envisioned from the plans. Because of this, I felt like I was having to oversee what was being done to make sure they were done properly. Jesse came out and assured me that they would make it right and in the end the work was completed and I am very happy with the results. Kabil has been very hard working and is always happy and friendly. I would just encourage Greentree to have more communication and site visits to help avoid confusion and make sure project is on track. I am now enjoying my yard, just wishing it would stop raining for a while.

We hired greentree a few weeks ago to do a stone patio for us. The team that was assigned to our job where amazing. Corey was the designer and the team leader Thomas was excellent at keeping us informed on what was happening and when to expect materials and equipment. His team really impressed my many curious neighbors at the end of each day by completely cleaning up the entire job site, including the front street where all of the material was dropped off each day. The patio is now done and now I get to build a set of stairs to allow us to access the patio(they will build the stairs if you want). When that's done Thomas and his team will be back to water proof the stairs and then cover them in the same stone that was used on the patio. Thomas and his team have made this whole experience a pleasure and we are already planning to have them come back next year and continue to transform our home from great to amazing. My wife and I can say with absolute confidence that if you are considering Greentree for a job you won't be disappointed. Once Thomas is done with the stairs I will add to this post and include a picture of there work if I can.

I was very disappointed in this company. We met them at the Edmonton Home & Garden Show and they had lots to offer with what appeared to be great customer service. We started off great; visit to our home, rough drawing of our plans and discussion on our budget. We realized that we were probably asking for more than could be covered in our budget but we wanted to start at the top, complete the most important features and put off the least important. We visited their shop to discuss the quote when it was ready. It was a lot more than we anticipated. However, we still wanted to do business with them. After my husband and I discussed our options, I email the landscaper to ask for details on what the lump sum amount for "final grade" would include and if he could break it down for me. How much cost for top soil, crush, etc. He never responded to my email...ever. Because we never heard from them again, I can only assume our landscaping needs weren't going to generate enough revenue for them to be bothered. I actually understand this concept, however, what I don't understand is not having the courtesy to respond. Either way, we ended up going with another landscaper. As I said, very disappointing.

This is a terrible company. The company that built my home chose Greentree to do our landscaping. I received a letter in the mail back at the end of April saying Greentree will be starting the landscaping soon. It's now the beginning of September and the dirt for the sod has been laid and that's it. I found out today from my contractor that the reason why my sod is not done 3 weeks later from the dirt being laid is the city failed their inspection. The landscaper failed to put well rock in. Simple task that the contractor asked to be done a while back and still not done. Greentree does not care about your time. They made me drive all the way across town just to pick out my tree (told them over the phone i just want lawn, no fancy landscaping). They wouldn't let me pick over the phone, I had to make an appointment (3 weeks later because they're only open late Thursdays and I wasn't driving an hour and a half on a Saturday just to pick) and drive there to spend less than 2 minutes telling them what tree I wanted. If you want a company that values your time and needs/wants I wouldn't choose Greentree.

Our deck is falling apart. Feeling scammed Greentree used hardie board to cover our deck. It is not intended for this purpose at all (according to the manufacturer) and is falling apart. We feel scammed. Initially they claimed it would be covered by warranty, but delayed the fix until the warranty lapsed.

There were a lot of problems with the project execution for my deck project. The planning stage was fun and very professional but when it came time for the project to start Greentree was extremely unprofessional. I will not list every nit-picky thing that went wrong but I will highlight a few of the worst ones: - Caught the foreman and one other working down the street for cash under the table while they were to be working on my project and filled my dumpster with that waste. - They did not wait for "call before you dig" to mark the lines before starting. They marked the lines days after the work was done - Asked for screw piles for my raised deck. Instead they installed cement footings and just piled the excess cement on top of the form. Then dumped all the concrete washout in my storm drain, leaving a mess. - They forgot to request a permit from the city when it was required. - Also a neighbour down the street told us about a poorly executed concrete project they had completed by Greentree. There has been no check in with us from the people who helped us plan the project. If they had and were looking to make improvements then possibly we could have avoided this review but as it stands I feel I should advise you to look at other companies before calling Greentree.

When we decided to relandscape our forty plus year old yard we chose Greentree based on research and recommendations. Our project was a complete redesign of the yard and included replacement of old sod, regrading, installation of new walkways (pavers and stepping stones), edging and a fire pit. We also had a large number of shrubs and perennials planted with bark mulch in newly created beds around the entire back yard. All aspects of this project were handled with excellent communication and professionalism. Zac was a great designer to work with and he crafted a creative and functional design. We started the process in June with the planning and scheduled the work for mid-September. Nick was on site in advance to walk us through the project and offered good suggestions to help us regrade the property. The on-site work crew led by Matthew (Andy, Kabil, Richard) arrived on the scheduled date, worked tirelessly and each phase of the project was completed seamlessly with great care and attention. Despite a few weeks with rain, snow and miserable temperatures, the team worked whenever there was a window of opportunity. Everyone we worked with was always friendly and helpful. Terrible experience Designer Corey Cordeiro Owner Gordon Neustaeter Project started one month later than we were told, emails and telephone calls not returned to keep us updated. Several meetings cancelled at the last minute. Minimal respect shown for our time or schedule. We were promised Greentree does not start another project until ours was completed. Our project was to be 4 or 5 working days, it was completed in 7 weeks. Sloppy work included old concrete buried in the garden, fence rails buried in dirt, posts set incorrectly, and root balls on some shrubs exposed after planting just to name a few. Most plants and shrubs placed incorrectly, many not even in the correct beds. The final design plan was not on site and the plan on site was not followed. Greentree misrepresented what processes would be used, who was on their staff, how some materials would be selected and positioned and how something would be completed (most notably the grading). When things went wrong Greentree was unapologetic and accusatory. The concrete subcontractor was Tom, he communicated very well, answered emails and phone calls in a timely manner and would call if plans changed. I cannot recommend anyone use Greentree Oudoor Living.

This is a very poorly managed company. I hired them 4 months ago and all they've done is lay some dirt which is now covered in weeds and build a fence that the latch doesn't work, a section fell down, they massacred the post tops and didn't build to match which was in the contract. They damaged my siding which wasn't repaired for 2.5 months. My landscaping is still not complete. They promised they would be here this week but didn't show. This is one truly disappointed customer. We worked mainly with Corey Cordeiro throughout the design phase who was an absolute pleasure to work with and went over an above to meet our objectives. I recently had my yard grading re-done by Greentree. After getting 5 quotes, I went with this company because they gave me good information, they hire trained staff (technical school or apprentices) and their quote was the best price for the scope of work. They called ahead to say when they were coming and worked every day until the work was complete. The landscapers were professional in the way they carried out their duties and answered every question I had. They were respectful to my neighbours too regarding noise and bins, and they were careful not to damage other properties. I would recommend this company if you want good work for a fair price.

The day of the job the team did not contact me or show up at my door at the agreed starting time. I had to prompt them to get information. - small finishing tasks took weeks and multiple messages to get finished. Overall: They were fine. I was glad to have the design work done. The end product is nice but if I were to do it over again I'd do the work myself. Given the time I've spent chasing them I think that would have been the less stressful option.

They were using equipment to clear snow across the street from me in violation of noise bylaws - rather than attempting to address the situation with me, the CEO Gordon cyberstalked me and somehow got my employers information and contacted them about the review to try to intimidate me and by fabricating stories in an attempting to undermine me. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a company. The CEO is an absolute lunatic. Totally disgusted in how they do business. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

Update: It is sad that the company's response to this review is that they are happy they were able to complete the job so fast. It was done so fast that it was very poorly done. We had to ask the installers to put fabric down as well as the metal edging, even though it was in the contract and we were being billed for it. As far as getting it fixed, it has been over a year and now we are told the warranty has expired by the company. Very dishonest company. We have had to take further action in hopes of getting the work fixed. I agree with other reviews regarding other 5 star reviews. Beware of this company. We had a granite patio, sidewalk, and grading done in June 2017. For the couple of days it took the crew to finish the job, they kept telling us that they were working on $100,000 jobs. We didn't realized it at the time that our little $20,000 job was just a filler job for them. Everything was fine for the first week until we noticed a bunch of loose paving stones in the middle of the patio and along the edge, and the patio has a big stain on it in the middle from all the poly sand that has washed up. This was when we realized how terrible their customer service is. They came out to fix it a couple weeks later, but we realized after that it wasn't even fixed. We eventually talked to Gordon, who is apparently the owner. Since we have been talking to him, he's made no effort to make us happy or get it fixed for us. In fact, he's even tried to say that it was caused by a previous issue, which is not the case. We had Corey, the landscape designer come out prior to the job being done. He took a bunch of pictures and did the design. Gordon came out to see the issue we are having and made a bunch of excuses for the quality of work that was done and was going to send a guy out to fix it that admitted he has never worked with the granite. We told him we want it fixed properly and not in the rain. Again, we followed up because we haven't heard anything. His response was that he would send someone out in the next couple of weeks when he gets "rained out". It is disheartening to find out that they want to fix the patio when they're "rained out". We feel that the issues we are facing with our current patio is that it has always been treated as a small little "filler" job to occupy time when there's nothing better to do. We would really like this project to be taken seriously- the stains that we are concerned about (that we want to have cleaned) will not even be visible if the patio is wet. If correcting this job is not something that can take the full attention of the crew due to its small scale, then it should not be an issue to refund our cost so that we can hire a company that is scaled accordingly to handle the scope with the seriousness we would like it to be dealt which is exactly the reason why we're having this problem UPDATE: We still have not been able to get our patio fixed. Gordon now says the warranty is expired and there is nothing they can do especially when we have written a negative review on their page. Be aware of the 5 star reviews on their page. Most of them are from their own employees.

I finally get my quote through email - there were errors and the quote was supposed to be between $5000-$6500 - the quote was for over $23,000. Ridiculous. I called back to ask to speak to Amy .. finally received a call back from Avery - her reply was, "I don't have all the information about your quote, but it must be right. Just a complete joke.

Since then we had a couple of issues arise that resulted in the gates not fully opening this Spring. We are happy to report that Greentree sent out a crew and rectified the issues. Our experience with this company was very good. The design was perfect. The carpenter, Cyril, was terrific+! He did this work, by himself, in January. Winter conditions complicated it. He was very hard working, clean, respectful of our property, and a very skilled workman. We put slate tiles over an existing wood deck and a cement front landing that had previously been covered with a stone slurry type material. The finished product looks lovely, warm and welcoming. We could not be more pleased. The price was fair.

Right from the start, my wife and I were impressed with designer Zac Marks: He showed up at our home to meet my wife, professionally dressed, and provided a lot of insight and ideas about how we could best utilize our backyard space that went above and beyond what we initially thought we wanted. But after seeing the price they quoted, I’ll admit we were tempted to go elsewhere… …After looking at many other landscaping companies online, seeing their "work" (and finding out later much of their gallery was stock photography and NOT actual jobs performed), I realized that if we wanted the job done right the first time, it would be a bad idea to go with the lower-priced options available to us. That, coupled with Zac’s brilliant ideas that we never thought of (we initially thought we wanted one thing and Zac showed us many other ideas, ultimately settling on a fantastic option of a granite stone patio and additional lot grading etc.), was what sold me on GreenTree. Not once did I feel he was “selling” us to jack the quote up. And at the end of the day, while we went over what I initially wanted my budget to be, I’m SO glad we did. If we went with our original thoughts, we would have had a substandard backyard that wouldn’t have fit our lifestyle and needs as a growing family. As it is now, it’s been two seasons since GreenTree overhauled our back yard and my wife and I are quite pleased. Every spring/summer/fall it’s a joy to be able to sit outside and have the outdoor space that we initially envisioned having, but never would have accomplished without Zac’s expertise. Admittedly, it was sometimes tough to get emails answered. I get it, they’re not a small company so sometimes it takes some follow up to get things through. But Zac was always quick to address any questions we had and did a great job walking us through the process. The first year, we found that the fill between our patio stones hadn’t set properly and was actually deteriorating. Once we sent photos to GreenTree, they immediately saw that it had been installed incorrectly (under wet conditions) and had their warranty expert out within a couple days to assess what needed to be done, and book a complete re-install of the material the proper way. Very happy to see them not shove us off to the side because we were making a warranty claim. And Zac’s continued inquiry to see if we’re enjoying our yard space definitely reinforces my perception that he genuinely cares about the result he’s putting his name on. We plan on having GreenTree come out to do additional stonework as per Zac’s “phased plan” for our backyard. Very happy with him, and we love our backyard thanks to GreenTree.

Recently, we contracted the company, Greentree Outdoor Living, to have a wooden side deck built on our house. We had the great fortune and pleasure of having two very qualified and excellent carpenters from the Greentree company, Thibaut and Jérémy, assigned to build this deck. We want to especially commend the craftsmanship and dedicated skill that these two young men exhibited throughout the completion of our deck project. This side deck was designed to join onto an existing curved front deck, and to match the existing curves in scale and aesthetics in perfect symmetry. Also, required in this project, the side deck had to be built around a large old fir tree. The deck design includes a hexagon seating at the base of the fir tree and a canopy built around the fir tree that resembles an umbrella over that seating. These creative and detailed features were perfectly executed by Thibaut and Jérémy. In addition, the side deck had to join with the existing back deck to wrap around the house. Accordingly, the side deck required required two sets of curved steps on each end. One set of steps had adjoining curved flower boxes added to them on both sides, as well. At each stage of this project, Thibaut and Jérémy took great care to communicate how the most attractive and functional results could be achieved. By adding attractive decorative panels to the side-adjoining fence, the carpenters complimented the style of the deck. These panels on the fence highlight a large flowing garden that starts at the front sidewalk and continues into a backyard flower oasis. Every aspect of our dream deck was accomplished by the absolute stellar performance of these two carpenters. They are perfectionists and serious professionals who rose to every challenge and expectation. We want to acknowledge their hard work and execution of all our requests. Thibaut and Jérémy were a pleasure to have handling this project at all times. We highly recommend the professional carpenters, Thibaut and Jérémy, and Greentree Outdoor Living, without hesitation.

In 2014 we contracted Greentree for approx 60,000.00 to landscape our new home. We currently estimate about 5,000 in unfinished business from items ranging from poor workmanship, to dead trees, shrubs, irrigation issues, lighting issues and incomplete work and through repeated attempts have had zero response from Gordon Neustaeter, the owner or any other representative from the company including contact from us this spring. If I could give ZERO stars I would - where he gets a "Top Choice Award" 2015 from that is posted on his website - I don't know. He took the money and ran and shame on us for not holding back sufficient funds.

The project's start date was September 5th and it only took the foreman, Nick and his crew 5 days to complete. We now have a regraded back yard with fresh sod, stone edging around the grassed area and a beautiful wood retaining wall. We also opted to have a path and a patio area prepped and left as crushed gravel so that next Spring we can move forward with stage 2 and have the stone work done! We are beyond happy with our yard and would definitely recommend Greentree to anyone looking to have landscaping done!

In four days half of our backyard was transformed to a shale path and mulch areas with planted cedars and a small bush. We also had a wood border placed and mulch around our garden boxes in another area. It looks great and will be easy care. Our plan did not include an edging between the mulch and shale path but we requested it to be added and it was installed the next day, there was an additional cost. Our thanks to Zac for the unique design, Camille for all of his hard excellent work in the hot sun, the helper who was there for one of the days, and Kenan for responding so quickly to our concerns and keeping us informed. Owner writes their own 5-star reviews to drown out the 1-star reviews to jack up the average. All those reviewers who give 5-stars do not have any other reviews (Red Flag!!). Poor work done with no after service. We came across this company in the Home and Garden Show and got a brochure with beautiful pictures in it. We mistakenly believed all those 5-star reviews and got blind-sided. It was a huge mistake.The result was nothing like the brochure. The terms on the back of the yellow contract that you sign are set out so it will be very expensive and difficult to go after them. The warranty book is a separate thing. Don't be fooled that you are covered under their so-called warranty. The owner is very good to tell you why nothing is not covered. The owner is very accusatory and blame all problems back to us, even it was clearly their incompetence. After consulting a lawyer, we decided it would be too long (we were told the process can take many months before we would even taking them to court), and expensive. We decided to hire another company to fix their mistake. Stay away! The only thing this company has is a nice booth at the Home and Garden Show, a very nice brochure, and a nice showroom. Note: four 5-star reviews on the same day by "Mark Garneau", "Fernado Cruz", "Yamandu Perez", and "wildcat trail sport". All these "reviewers" only did this one review!!! Seems this company also write fake reviews under Homestar. One 10/10 Homestar review had a deck built in Montreal.;one 10/10 reviewer from Palm Springs, and another from Windsor Ontario. Reviews under heading "We Find Good Team" and "I Find Them Well" have almost the same wording. "I Find Them Well" reviewer is from Montreal. "We Find Good Team" reviewer's review in Edmonton March subzero temperature really makes one wonder??? Because of bad vendors like Greentree, my family has stopped attending the Home and Garden Show. This nightmare experience has definitely dampened our interest to seek out vendors from the show. Owner's reply seems far-fetched and makes little sense: a group of customers decided to submit reviews on the same day, praising this 1 staff called Carlo?? The company has to guide their customers as how to write reviews as many has not written any before?? Are these customers illiterate or stupid so they needed to be shown how to write reviews?? A group of 5-star reviews appear right before the Home and Garden Show?? Buyers beware! Won't be surprised that 5-star reviews praising their warranty will appear very soon!!

Corey came out discussed what I was looking for, made suggestions, and took pics. When reviewing his 3D design proposal, I was impressed. Phase one was a complete driveway replacement and stone retaining wall. Corey's design for driveway was unique ,with inlaid contrasting paving stone for a color accent and it looks great!. Special thanks to Eric and his crew who were the boots on the ground when phase one began. His professionalism and knowledge was a great asset when minor tweaks were needed on the project. We got multiple quotes from different contractors to landscape our front and back yards. Green Tree’s proposal ended up being the best based on their design, cost, and service. The project started with Andy who helped us with the design. He is an expert in landscaping. Andy helped us get the design elements we wanted and stay within our budget (that’s not easy to do). Jon and his crew are masters at landscaping and construction. They executed the plan perfectly, despite some last minute changes to the retaining wall and other design elements. The crew was very accommodating. I can tell they take pride in their work. Josh is truly an artist. The stone patio is a work of art. We love it and our neighbors love it too. I highly recommend Green Tree. They have a great showroom and the only contractor who provided us with 3D illustrations. Everyone at Green Tree is professional, courteous, and friendly. Our landscaping project was worry-free and we received excellent service.

TERRIBLE COMPANY, POOR SERVICE, AMATEUR WORKMANSHIP and MISREPRESENTATION. The owner (Gordon) will literally lie to your face. Save yourself the stress and money and use a professional company. This one DOES NOT provide what they say they do. We had approximately $30,000 worth of work done in our front yard which was to include a design, complete landscaping- including a porch, privacy fence and granite walkway. Where to start.... They used sand as their walkway base- needless to say, despite their recommended maintenance as per their "Owner's Manual" is has sagged and shifted. This is after they re-did it a second time. The Deck was not done to code... i.e. not properly supported, loose and uneven boards, incorrect angles, electrical wire for ground lights strung between deck and support beam, and generally sloppy workmanship. The porch also had to be re-done because the first go was absolutely terrible. "Carpenters" they used did not understand a 90 degree angle and appeared to have very little experience. Also damaged garden statues and left disgusting mess on driveway for weeks, including cigarette butts and fast food garbage thrown under the deck! The project manager- Corey (who was never there and impossible to get a hold of) repeatedly said Greentree would take care of any and all permits required , but when asked over and over well after job was done why there still wasn't a permit, the owner Gordon said he would personally take care of it, but after weeks of no communication, when finally pressed again, simply referred to some fine print that actually says homeowner is responsible... so why mislead and BS us for all those months? To summarize, the quality of the work was extremely poor and the Owner really didn't care about the original agreement or to remain accountable to promises he HIMSELF made. I am now stuck fixing their sloppy work and regretting ever hiring this mickey mouse company. Anyone considering hiring Greentree should re-think whether it's worth the risk and stress.

Great work and excellent service. The entire experience of working with Greentree on our landscaping project was excellent. The designer Zac was very patient with all our questions and provided a detailed breakdown of costs in the quotation. The project was executed by Julien who was very thorough and took the time to make sure the workmanship was done to a high standard. The initial work was performed by another landscaper and Julien made sure that all the deficiencies were addressed and also took the time to improve on the grading done in the backyard and at the side of the house. He also ensured that the neighbours were satisfied with the sod installed adjacent to theirs. Overall the experience of dealing with Greentree was exceptional. We look forward to working with Zac and Julien again on part 2 of the project in the future. I have no hesitation in recommending Greentree to friends and family.

Gordon ignored the requests of my wife during the quote. Tried to upsell everything, and didn't actually answer any of our questions. Quoted us for work we didn't want done, and showed up to the appointment late after he pushed it back an hour. Also, the owners response to the negative reviews on here are strikingly unprofessional. There is excuse after excuse. Professionals own their mistakes, amateurs blame others. I can only expect this kind of attitude has spread throughout the rest of his company. For the terrible attitude, and the inability to do a simple quote, we will not be moving forward with this company, not would I recommend other's contact them.
