They designed our dream landscaping and stayed within the budget! We had stone work, turf, sod, trees and perennials installed, everything turned out beautiful. We couldn't be happier with our experience with Good Roots Landscaping, I would recommend them to anyone.

They worked very hard to stay within our budget while still ensuring we had all the elements we wanted. All work was completed on time and with great attention to detail. -Failed final grading (which should have set alarms off) -Took weeks to get back to us each time -Put down the topsoil improperly; water would run off the lawn vice be absorbed. -Rather than fix poorly laid sods, simply sprinkled dirt between them to cover up the gaps. -Suggested and put sod between houses despite the fact that no other house on the block had done so. Why did the other houses not do so? Because the grass won't grow there. And now I have to rip it all up and put down stone as I have dead grass along the width of my house. They refused to help. If you decide to go with this company, refer back to this review when your pulling you hair out (likely to cover the bald spots on your lawn). EDIT: This company had 3 reviews in two years. Within hours of me posting a fourth, this appeared with 5 stars: "Nothing but good things to say about Good Roots Landscaping! They did an extensive renovation on my property, including stone work, planting, etc. We had a pleasure dealing with the crew and they went above and beyond to meet our needs and wishes!" Fake, beware!

We highly recommend Good Roots Landscaping for your project. From the start we were impressed when Michael came to our home and consulted with us and spent time going over options to come up with a great landscape design for our goals. The company is very professional and stood out from others we were quoting with. That professionalism carries into their work, with the high quality work they did to how neat the site was left at the end of every day. The crew was phenomenal, they are very much like a small family company and are pleasant, personable, and trustworthy to have around your home. We are extremely happy with the end result and follow ups and warranty they offer to ensure a great end result.

We set completely unreasonable expectations in terms of timing and work, and they met those expectations and exceeded them, even staying late on a Friday to get the patio complete before our event on Saturday. I worked with Tyler for my project on a typical city lot between two other newly built homes. We had recieved a great price offer for or landscaping (Sod and deck in rear. Stone on narrow side and stone with stepping stones on the wide side. Front is 0 maintenance xeroscape stone and mulch with 2 pho rockbed river features and 18 shrubs.) I had issues with a previous landscaper which delayed getting my project started until late into 2019. Tyler was sometimes hard to reach but always answered questions and came up with great design ideas when I had none. We ended up failing our final grade at the end of October for a few high points as it was a rush to get everything done. Fast forward one pandemic and a longer winter and we were back on track in May to have updates applied and Sod and plants go in. All work was completed shortly into June and we are very happy with the way everything turned out. My recommendation for anyone that has a late season start is to hold off inspection until the following season and not rush to beat the snow. I recommend good roots for anybody that wants a fair price and a great landscape.

In October 2015, prior to taking possession of our home, Michael met me at our future home and spent time listening to my landscaping ideas and taking notes & measurements. Over that winter Michael provided us with a landscaping plan along with a budget. But more to that, he then explained options that would affect the plan and the budget. By spring time we had a plan and a budget that was well suited to our family. Our family did not have to do anything more. Good Roots scheduled the work and carried it out on time and on budget. The best part was they coordinated all the work that overlapped with the fence builder and the irrigation people. I did not have to worry about anything. The workers were all very professional and they were well supervised. In the fall, there were some deficiencies (some of our soil caved in) and they came back and fixed these issues. When we are ready to do more we will be contacting Good Roots. Jim

October 2020 - We built a new home in Summerside (South Edmonton) and had Good Roots do our landscaping. Prior to the landscaping, Michael Tessier (owner), met with us to review what our vision was for the yard. Within a week, Michael produced layout drawings and provided pricing for the work. He was very responsive and patient working through the multiple iterations we had getting the design just right. When it came time for the actual work, they were available immediately with a large crew and worked continuously until the job was complete. Quality was a top priority during the construction (I was able to witness first hand due to working from home during COVID) as straight edges, squares and levels were used to ensure it. If something wasn't quite right, they were the ones addressing them without us even having to bring it up to them let alone argue about it. Would recommend as it was a great experience.
