Being a tourist from a non north american country, I got confused with the entrance procedure because there were no signs whatsoever and no staff to give me directions, except a girl holding a sign very far. I then assumed the procedure would be as in my country and followed the car in front of me as soon as he was called, thinking they had called our whole queue. Upon seeing me advance, the girl kept swinging the sign between “stop” and “slow” while looking at me and I kept stopping and going as she turned them. She was singaling while looking at me, so I thought it was for me to go! When I got on the ferry, the guy in charge came to me and was very rude telling me I should have stopped, but as I tried to explain why I got confused with the signals he then talked louder in a hostile manner over my voice and walked away without letting me explain that I didn’t do it wrong on purpose. I would never deliberately do something wrong, I honestly got confused and for me to be in a foreign country trying to understand a local procedure and then being treated like sh*t without being given the chance to explain myself in a language that isn’t my mother tongue just made me feel miserable, alone and not welcome. Very rude and hostile guy, I hope he learns how to be a better person.

Super fast operators! They were able to get us across the Yukon river very quickly, but safe. The kids love ferry rides. It's a real treat viewing Dawson City from the other side of the river. Fantastic!

Has been many years now but this is an exciting ferry crossing when the water is swift.(Probably most of the time) Always remember going down river with the current and coming back up near the bank on the other side. Would love to go back someday!

I take this ferry Quite a bit. I have seen this ferry get stuck, but through valiant attempts and courageous moves from many a helpful individuals, the ferry has been dislodged from gravel bars, and take many a more tourist across the river. To view the natural beauty of the Top Of the World. And I have seen so many people walk off this ferry, and I know the crew and the Captain's. They are good people and they do their Due Diligence while in board and follow the posted safety rules and I would trust this ferry to take me safely across the river.

The signs were mislabled and the man in charge threatened to kick us off the boat because we were in the "wrong area." It said 19 feet but the guy claimed it said 25 feet. We waited for over twenty minutes to begin with and we were here prior to any other cars. Don't expect to have a nice time but just to get on and get off a little grumpier. I had nothing but great experiences in Canada until we were forced to deal with the guys working on this ferry.

A truly unique experience. The road just...stops. The ferry is free. They can handle a 40-ft Motorhome with tow without having to unhook. They basically load one RV and 3-4 autos per load.

A free ferry will always get 5 stars from me, unless it sinks. I loved watching how the ferry used the current like a sail uses the wind. My motorhome & Jeep combination fit with no issue, but they did take a LONG time (like 1.5 hours) before they decided to load me up. I did get to watch several crossings however. The dirt loading ramp made it exciting!
