pretty bad experience first time visiting the store. The store is a bit crowded and chaotic today. Moreover, when I took a wrong turn among the isle, I was told by the owner to go back and take another loop before entering the greenhouse. I don't mind doing that considering it is uncertain and difficult time right now and was about to go back again to take the loop. But after being rudely told in my face that if I don't follow his direction I will be kicked out of the store, I completely lost interest of buying anything from the store and end up leaving the store soon after. I would have given it 1 star, but decided to give two as there was a store rep patiently answering my gardening questions. However, I won't go back ever again if the owner is this rude. Afterall, there is another big garden centre right next door anyway where I had better shopping experience. Just some suggestions, if you are going to ask people to follow the arrow in one direction, please use some tape or paint with bright color instead of drawing arrows with chalk which can be rubbed off. Also, at this time when physical distancing is important, you can consider limiting number of customers inside of store. Most importantly, please ask customer nicely and explain the importance of your policy patiently instead of threatening to throw customer out of the store. This is no way to treat your customer. ___________________ To owner: Thank you for your quick reply. There is no point to argue over internet on what happened and I understand your frustration of running a store at this difficult time. However, beginning your reply with adjectives like "self-serving" and "mis-leading" and hinting customer's story as "fake news" is not the way to go for store owner to be honest. You need to work on your professionalism a bit more. Try to go on Amazon and Canadian Tire and learn from other store owners and Manufacturer how they reply. Start with an apology for bad experience and be polite. Offer an option to talk over the phone instead of getting defensive right away and staying "I am very disappointed in you" (you are not my dad for goodness sake). If you are nice, people will listen. I was going to type in some argument against your reply, but I decided to let it drop as I found your last sentence of you being very disappointed in me very amusing and mood-lifting. Also, you seems to ignore my positive comments and suggestions in my review and decided to target only on the negative ones...And Too bad other store reps were nice and had different attitude than yours. Amazing people - knowledgeable and friendly. My favourite garden centre (for any need!). My husband kept adding sand to our patio pavers every year and so I went to pick up my annual bag of sand, 5 yards of soil, snow on the mountain and ivory halo dogwoods.. A funny thing happens when you actually talk with people and tell them what you're doing and why you're there. Will told me that what we could use was a Polymeric sand - who knew?! Never heard of such a thing. Well, a big hug to Will. Worked exactly how he explained it; this is the last year my husband will have to add sand . Thank you Will!

So after dealing with 4 people who had no idea what they were doing and being basically told too bad about my daughter starting a garden and after waiting for over 45 minutes for someone to come do thier job i got fed up and went to find a manager to complain. Well now i know why no one else gives two hoots. The manager basically told me im an idiot and to get out. Nothing but disrespect. Must be nice to run a company that relies on corporate contracts to stay in business so they can treat the private customers like peices of $%@&.

This garden centre is probably the best I’ve been to. The place is way bigger than I expected, they have a huge selection and a range of prices. They have cheaper plants and even some that are quite expensive, but all are beautiful. There’s something here for everyone. They sell all kinds of gardening/outdoor supplies too. The plant pot I got (see photos)was $1.49, there are many sizes.

Horrible customer service. This is bitter sweet review, I should be able to put two reviews in. One for the excellent landscaping work that I had done. They were fantastic, and very clean, and did a wonderful job. The second one is where they get one star. The owner, I am going to assume was very rude and treated my Mom and me like thieves. I stewed on this for a year, vowing never to return. I took my Mom to Ron Pauls to look at garden supplies. We bought a few nick knacks and both bought these cute little led bottle lights. We brought them home, install batteries, and my Moms did not work, and mine partially. So, during our next visit we decided to bring them back. We both had receipts. (Well i thought I had mine, turns out it was for another product I bought the same day there.) The girls at the counter were fine with it. But, I am going to assume "Ron" decided to actually CONFIRM that it was broken by trying to find batteries for mine and determine if it was actually broken. He then stated that he is in a bad situation here, because I did not actually have the correct receipt. making me feel like I stole it! The girls were embarrassed. I was starting to get upset because of the way he is treating me. I told him I just spent $3000 on landscaping from his company, and he just told me that, I can not believe you, you have no proof. He reluctantly gave me a gift certificate, which I was fine with from the beginning. But, I will NEVER go back to Ron Pauls.

Love this place. Over 20 years ago, I'd go here for flowers. They gave an extensive greenhouse, in fact many and they have slurpees (great for hot Manitoba weather), and a small gift-type shop. They have a public washroom. Parking is ample and free! Staff are super helpful. I only experienced one time where staff neglected to inquire if we needed assistance, normally they are on the ball. Today, I go and buy river rock from this centre. Great service, great prices--they will even help fill the rock, for no additional charge! Thank you!

I'm not sure what they don't have but they were the only place that had Blue Tuscan rosemary plants (hard to find to make that perfect culinary recipe) and various citrus plants. To hardy plants and decorative florals. At least 9 variety of gravel~river rock~etc to choose from too! Prices are very reasonable compared to others. Knowledgeable staff as opposed to other places. For the practical gardener and even the fickle landscaper too ???? Very happy with my purchases! Will come again as this is my new go to place (and I live on the other side of the city!)

Bought canister to spray herbicide. Medium $$ range. Handle is weak or not manufactured right. Comes off once one starts working which voids the warranty or purchase. Agreed when called there was other cases. Still sells it. Has no parts to fix, talks smooth, no interest. I suggest to purchase these types of equipment elsewhere.

Some stores will require you to special order pallets of stone, this place can help you with a under a pallet on some products that are in stock. They loaded my 12 patio stones which are 60 pounds each into my SUV vehicle. This place was well worth my drive from Grand Beach.

Does not follow current health orders, and I quote (directly from engageMB): "'I have been told that I must present personal health documentation from my doctor to enter a business, proving I have an exemption. This is is direct violation of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and a violation of FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Personal Privacy Act). As well, the public health order only states they must remind people to wear a mask. They are not to police it." Unfortunately, I have to review my disappointment this year. In the past, I have spent hundreds of dollars purchasing spring bedding plants, perennials, and soil. This will be my last year at this establishment due to a few things. Last year, with the onset of the Pandemic I submitted an substantial order online April 24th to ensure I received the items I wanted and picked them up May 19. - My order was over $460. This year, I did the same - ordered on April 16th but was told they would not hold the product and had to pick it up by April 19th. When I picked up - I noticed how small the items were - rather than a bedding plant - one variety was truely a seedly - just having been transplanted into the trays. Ultimately, with the weather turning cold - there was a constant in and out to avoid the frost and the little seedlings simply could not survive a non-greenhouse environment. I made a request for replacement. My biggest issue was the way I was treated. After the support I gave to shopping at this business - when I received a call this morning warning me if I did not come to pick up the replacements, they would be put out for sale to others. I promptly went to the store to be scolded by the person (Jan) that annuals are not something that their policy replaces. It was delivered in a manner that was in front of other staff and customers which was uncalled for and in my opinion greatly dissatisfied me to the point of in future doing business elsewhere.

I purchased ¼ Down Black Granite and 1-1/2 Black Granite online from Ron Paul Garden Centre and had it delivered on Saturday, June 16. These were to be used as a top layer for certain parts of my landscape project. I thought I received the wrong order for ¼ Down Black Granite since the material was significantly different from the image I saw online so I called Ron Paul Garden Centre to see if this can be exchanged. I was forwarded to Jeanne (pronounced “Jan”) and she was defensive and said that they will not be exchanging the product. I tried to explain that the image for ¼ Down Black Granite was significantly different from what I expected since the image had larger pieces. However, she said there is a disclaimer on their website that said actual products may not be exactly as shown and that I had plenty of time to go down to the store to make sure that is what I wanted before placing the order online. I double-checked the page where I placed the order and did not see the product disclaimer as of this review. Regardless, I understand there may be slight discrepancy due to the nature of the material, but not significantly different. I tried to attach a screenshot of the image used for the “1/4 Down Black Granite” on the Ron Paul Garden Centre website as well as a picture of the actual material I received for comparison in the hopes that this conveys the discrepancy better. I was hoping to save some travel time by ordering online and have it ready to go for the weekend, which turned out to be a costly decision. To resolve the issue, I had to pay close to $600.00 to have the ¼ Down Black Granite removed and place a new order for ¾ Black Granite which were supposed to be larger. Due to the cost to remove and replace the order, I opted to keep the material instead and mentioned I will not be coming back. Before I was about to end the call, I was offered a yard of ¾ Black Granite and delivery at no charge for keeping the materials. However, I didn’t know how much I needed so I was told to call her back once I did. In the end, I decided not to call back to avoid having something delivered again that is significantly different. Due to this unfortunate event, I will be taking my business elsewhere to complete my project but I’m hoping the owners that review this will add the missing disclaimer on the website and use another image of the ¼ Down Black Granite so other customers will not experience the same issue I had with purchasing online.

I don't know exactly what happened yesterday but there was apparently an altercation between the owner of Ron Paul and my contractor D&A Construction (who is a super nice guy by the way). I was having a new sidewalk installed, and when my contractor got to point of laying the paving stones he noticed immediately that Ron Paul had loaded the wrong ones. So he had to leave in the middle of the job and was gone for ages. There was some big blow out and the owner wouldn't even replace them. He gave D&A my money back instead, and then he had to take additional time to source my paving stones elsewhere, and go to purchase them. Based on what happened yesterday, I definitely wouldn't recommend Ron Paul to family or friends. But super happy with my contractor - he made sure I got exactly what I wanted, even though he had to run around to get it.

I was at Ron Paul today, and I experienced something quite unacceptable. There seemed to be an issue with a customer trying to return or exchange a product and the owner ended up getting involved. He was swearing, and getting up in this customers face, and lastly I heard a death threat. I am extremely appalled by this behaviour. No one should be spoken to like that, let alone a paying customer. I will never return to this garden centre and I hope some of you will think twice before returning as well. You may end up leaving after being assaulted by the owner. This behaviour is disgusting.

Requested to drop the stones behind the gate line the driver said it's 15 feet away and the can take it only up to 10 feet but clearly you can see he had 9 feet to back up. But he probably wasn't feeling like working Update: so after starting the installation of the patio I noticed couple of stones damaged so I went back to replace them which they replaced without problems but then the owner gave me a trespass notice and said they don't want to see me there ever again, not that I would ever come back but that just shows you how maturely they deal with people who gave them bad reviews and are not satisfied with the service that they provide. I also offered the manager to see the video of the conversation that I hade with the driver to provide proof that I hade not raised my voice even once but the the manager just said that he doesn't care and he wants me out so I guess it's easier to do that them provide actual service. And the stones were not placed in a fenced area they were put at the beginning of the driveway for everyone to see, luckily nothing were stolen. And I guess that disclosing my name and business very professional and the what you might expect if you are not satisfied, so very childish and sad lol.

HORRIBLE service. We called to get soil and sod delivered. We were told it wasn't available for delivery. We then ordered soil from somewhere else, and we went into Ron Paul and paid for the sod we would be needing so we could pick it up when we were finished laying the soil. Signs were put around our sod saying it was sold. When we came back later to pick up the sod it was gone. Someone sold it to another customer. When talking to the lady at the cash register she basically said there's nothing we can do. She told us we had to come back Tuesday (2 days later). When we inquired about free delivery since we weren't sure we would be able to pick it up she said no. She was very rude and did not care about this inconvenience this has caused us. We ended up just getting a refund. We are very disappointed with the service here.

If you’re thinking of getting sod from any other business, stop. Ron Paul’s is the way to go. Ray, Andrew and his team are exceptional, efficient, caring and hard working. I had the best customer service experience I have EVER received from any business. My sod was unfortunately failing and I called Ray to ask if he had any recommendations for fertilizer. I was not expecting much assistance but amazingly Ray come to my house the same day to check out the sod. He assessed it and gave me some products to try to bring it back. When it wasn’t working I called Ray and he had a team come to not only bring me new sod, free of charge, but they ripped up the old sod and placed the new sod. Andrew and his team were INCREDIBLE. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. They were professional, efficient and hard working but also very personable and fun. I am so thankful I went to Ron Paul’s for my landscaping needs. I will always go to them in the future and I urge you to do the same. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

This company is straight up! They have never disappointed me and I’ve been Landscaping Winnipeg and rural areas since 1984.. Knowledgeable staff. Will in shrubs/yard supervisor is awesome! The ladies at the front desk are friendly, knowledgeable, and as sharp as whip. The other guy that’s always running the loader I still don’t know his name lol He’s more worky than chatty maybe always busy. The nursery staff CARE for their products. They have competitive prices and are straight forward a pleasure to deal with. I can count those types of garden centres on one hand honestly. They are always their to help you load ( now that I’m a little older, in the Barkman concrete area at Ron Paul’s.. I find walking a bit slower with a slight limp works great! :) And for sod they go with Hilderbrand Kentucky Blue grass sod farms.. Be the envy of your neighbourhood with that! I was there shopping with my sister and her daughter today July 29th around 8:00pm and at first it was great we were looking around picking plants having fun until my sister had left me to go look at another plant with my niece and I was picking threw some smaller plants finding which ones I liked and an older lady that works here with long very bright blonde hair walks up and stands across from me and starts to watch me clear as day I looked up and smiled thinking she was coming to ask if I needed help considering I work in retail and know that’s the nice thing to do but she didn’t say a word she continued to watch me as if I were stealing from the store until I walked away from the plants she walked back to front I was there for a few minutes and she just stood there watching me, I was very unhappy with the way she stood there watching me she didn’t watch anyone else afterwards she just came to watch me. we still had went up and spent around 90 dollars on plants but myself working in retail that’s not the way you come about that and you should never Judge or approach and watch a customer especially when the show no signs of theft I’m very disappointed with my experience and hope a Staff meeting is set to discuss this and how it’s not right to treat a CUSTOMER this way.

As you may predict dealing with same gender in some mental grasps ease things up.. I don’t believe she meant to be mean.. It’s just building experience that comes with exposure. I haven’t got an apology from her personally, but I’m satisfied with her Manager call. Very rude owner She doesn’t return her product.. She doesn’t have a return policy that can fit her case.. Excellent customer service from Ray and his team at Ron Paul Garden Center. The attention to detail and keeping the customer happy is their main objective. We had some issues with some of the Barkman bricks we had purchased so I had inquired if I was able to exchange them, not a problem at all according to Ron Paul G.C. The only issue is that they weren't in stock so I had to wait a few weeks but that was a minor issue. I live in the opposite end of the city from RPGC and once the bricks were in stock, Ray had a couple of his team members deliver the replacement brick right to my house and they also picked up the old ones! Over and above! Beyond pleased with the customer service, I will most certainly recommend RPGC and I will definitely be a return customer! Thank you Ray and team! Keep up the great work! I find that Ron Paul Garden Centre is my go to place for all of my garden, landscaping and lawn needs for a number of good reasons. First of all I find that they have the most helpful friendly and plentiful staff that are always within reach. It is so refreshing to be able to get assistance right away. There is a good chance that the owner may have even helped you bag and load your rock and you would not even know it was the owner. The quality and selection of new and staple items is fantastic. I also believe that they have the most fair prices around. It is nice to be able to stretch my gardening dollar further. They are very reasonable with respect to pricing when it seems that other places have gone through the roof. I have never had anything but a good experience in the 12 plus years that I have shopped there. I did receive a call on May 31 in response to my May 30th call from the owner who apologized for the excess clay in the soil. He provided a new, very clean yard of soil in response to the problem I experienced. I was very satisfied with this response, which was in keeping with my earlier positive experiences with Ron Paul Garden Centre. I am therefore amending our earlier recommendation based on this experience to a 5 star review and thank the owner publicly for his responsiveness.

The staff told me will not be a charge for pick up pallets if there is a delivery around my area when I placed my orders, now they told me there will be a charge no matter what. What a dishonest place to shop for. Well - what a fabulous company. Trying to purchase a surprise gift from overseas that you want hand delivered on a specific day isn't an easy task. But thanks to the kindness and attention to detail afforded to me by Ray DuBois this was no problem at all. Went for a xmas tree and was really surprised with the selection. The showroom was well equipped and designed. Had great choices in decorations. Prices are very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful! I had the best experience at this greenhouse. Knowledgeable staff, prompt, courteous and reasonable pricing. Brought my daughter and she loved it! They had free slushies, cookies and coffee. I'll definitely go there again.

Very friendly (and pretty) and tho we had a lot of questions, if she didn't know the answer she went and got it from someone. What a joke, last time I was here went smooth this time aggravation. Called about sod said had 2 pallets left wouldn't take order on phone to pick up in 40 min . I get there said all sold out yet 6 pallets in yard they said was for delivery. So sounds like they want you to come all the way here to pay instead of taking payment on phone. Very Bad customer Service - The cash register associate was very rude with a mean attitude, when I asked them questions to check and confirm the items were on sales to ensure I have picked up the right items (which are on sale price) and not the ones which are on full price. I had a big list of plants/items i was purchasing, I understand you are busy however your workload shouldn't reflect on the customer service you provide. Very very disappointed and probably would never ever visit the depot again.

Love this place but. Placed a order. Order was missed by staff. When i phoned they said they had to see were it was , they appoligized and said next truck out was mine. Great and super! Whats was not cool was the 5 pails of mud and clay mixed in with my order of 3/4 black granite. I understand a little is possible but this amount is unacceptable within my 5 yard load. I cannot believe the amazing customer service from Ray at Ron Paul!!! Long story short, we had been calling other local companies all weekend trying to get some 1/4 down and patio blocks delivered. Kept being told that they would call back (never did) and wouldn't even honour their website pricing. Days later I called Ron Paul, who I should have called in the first place! Not only were they super friendly on the phone but after hearing my relief to have found a company that can deliver to us, they one-upped that and delivered within an hour!!!! Thank you again!! My daughter and I visited the garden center last Friday during Covid-19 shopping restrictions and found the experience comfortable and safe. They had a staff member as you entered giving directions, a cart and hand sanitizer. There are arrows on the ground telling you how to move around, and the selection was awesome! We needed some help and there was staff available to answer our questions. Thanks for all your hard work everyone!

I started off my summer with an outdoor project. Ray and his team of employees at Ron Paul Garden Center went above and beyond to please me as a customer. By giving him the measurements needed I was told how much gravel and stone I needed to complete my patio and sidewalk. We changed our order numerous times and added more at the last minute, even changing the type of stone. When challenges arose, Ray and his team dealt with it well. For example, I needed Paver Stone faster than anticipated and when Ray said he would do his best to get it to my address before the promised date, he delivered more than his word. Further, when I ran out of stone in one section, Ron Paul delivered a pallet within the hour of me calling. I would recommend Ron Paul to any of my family and friends and with the many people who have admired our project and asked where to buy similar products, I always tell them to "Go to Ron Paul Garden". While some companies offer empty promises and poor customer service, Ron Paul is a company that not only surpasses expectations but delivers it with a great price. “We've got it all” doesn't say all that there is to say about Ron Paul Garden Centre. They don’t just have a vast selection of perennials, annuals, soils, supplies and concrete products. RPGC literally has everything you can think of! However, their prices and commitment to customer service are also unbeatable. I always do a lot of research into products and suppliers before making any purchases and Ron Paul came in with better prices than the big box stores (i.e. places with volume buying power!) and other soil and stone retailers. I personally know because I purchased 14 full pallets of pavers and a lot of other supplies. I’ll have more to buy and regardless of the pricing, it’s just a great place to go. The staff are friendly, honest, helpful and knowledgeable. The president of the operation, Ray, is a genuinely great person. Ray has always given expert technical guidance and advice, and always with a kind and friendly disposition. What really impressed me was how well he treats everyone whether they be his suppliers or customers. Ron Paul Garden Centre is truly a great operation with unparalleled selection, service and pricing. What other place offers free slushies for kids? =D

This place has the distinction of being Winnipeg's only libertarian-themed gardening centre. While I didn't care much for the selection of Ayn Rand books, along with the various books about the gold standard written by Congressman Paul, I was impressed with their specialized selection of von Mises Perennials, named after the famed Austrian School economist Ludwig von Mises.
