Fantastic garden centre! They have a great variety of plants and were really knowledgeable about care and what plants would suit what I wanted (fragrant perennials). I had also phoned to check if they had gardenias available and they kindly put the last one they had aside for me to pick up, and I saw a lady who came with a cutting of one of her plants to ask for advice on a bug problem and they were extremely helpful. I would highly recommend this place to both experienced and beginner gardeners.

I have so much appreciation for the owners, management and staff for not only being open during the horrid winter of 2016 and early 2017, but for their always cheerful greetings to customers. I'm also grateful that no matter I may be looking for, they will make every effort to bring it in. I garden for a large hotel and am always happy with their efforts to supply exactly what I need. Rebecca is the go to girl for any tropical I may be looking for and gives clear instruction of plant requirements and care. Supporting my local garden centre also make me feel good!!

Amazing experience today. Staff here have got the social distancing thing figured out. All shopping is done outside, 2 cashes up and running, outside. There are very clear separation protocols in place - which is such a relief. They've reconfigured the shopping experience very effectively. Best part, every staff member I spoke with was pleasant and helpful. Thank you Hunters for staying open so we can continue to garden and keep our sanity in small ways. And thank you for a fabulous experience during a very difficult time.

I went into David Hunter Gardens to find out what I could plan in my shade growing garden. I had this desire for zebra grass which I sadly found out wasn't the best thing for a shade growing garden. The reason I choose to write this review is because I have never been an a garden centre where not only did they know their stuff really well but they helped me, showed me, and taught me which made my experience so amazing that I not only walked out with some lovely plants but I was elated. Now that is what you want when leaving a store. I will be shopping here through the gardening season even though it is a little out of my way! Thank you David Hunter Gardens!!!

I visited in the winter looking for potting soil, Hunters has friendly staff and a nice selection of tropical indoor plants. As you can imagine, the selection of out door plants was limited (as it was January) but they still had plenty of soil pots and even some bulbs.

Birdbath that finally attracted the birds! A lady working suggested I try the locally made (I think made of cement) birdbaths, I took home the smallest one and within a week all the birds were out there squabbling to get their turn in the bath. I have tried about 6 other types and had no luck with them wanting to use it but for whatever reason they are obsessed with this and still using it in the cooler weather of October.

This is our "go to" place for garden supplies and advice. Very knowledgeable team. The Gaia Green fertilizer is perfect for our patio container gardening. Not only do they have great products and knowledge, but outstanding customer service. I abandoned my keys at the store right before close. The resourceful team coordinated with a neighbouring restaurant to get them back to me. Above and beyond!

I am not lucky enough with this shop today. I made a long way to go there after reading over the positive remarks. I took my plant which is not doing well and asked lady in the shop to see what happened to the plant. I got her advice , but she was busy at what she was doing. Her advice was very short and moved on her business even without looking at me. Not worth traveling all this distance for this kind of service.

I bought my first begonia maculata with one in it 69CAD, and right after the next day I found begonia sold in another store with 25CAD but 3 plants (or roots) dunno how you call it, it also came with a decorating pot. I couldn't believe hunters garden charge 40 more on a same plant. I feel I've been scammed.

I brought in a very sad aloe vera I'd found abandoned in the storage facility I work in, looking for a little advice on saving its life since I'm not a gardener by any stretch. They were very helpful, repotting it for a very reasonable fee and giving me instructions on how to care for it in its convalescence. While I was there, I asked if they had anything that would grow in my sunless office and make the air a little sweeter, and they recommended a snake plant, which was also very reasonably priced. Very pleased, will definitely shop there again.
