I ate here for the first time yesterday & I will definitely be going back! The food is SO DELICIOUS! I had a No.4 Combo & it was divine! The lady who waited on us was very friendly & the atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy. My friends & I all agreed that it’s one of the best Chinese food places we’ve ever been to. My compliments to the chef!

The food was pretty good but the restaurant is ethically questionable. The blond waitress in her 60’s was without a mask, and when mentioning it she said she couldn’t breathe. This is after the law in place that she must wear one. a face shield would have done the same job but made it easier for her to breathe. The fish tank in the restaurant had dead fish in it, and the tank was only about half filled with water making poor living conditions for the habitants. Sadly Won’t be returning.

I visited Corner Brook as a traveler with a friend, I was pleased with such taste that was so familiar with my family when I was in China. Sometimes, Chinese people visited Chinese restaurant in Canada would complain and blame that taste without MSG or others might negatively impact the Chinese taste. I will simply concluded that it is so much worthy to wait no matter dine in or take out, usually take half an hour to have your first dish coming, to reach that taste without using MSG, everything is worth it, though price per dish is higher than the restaurant opposed to Jiwen. As a Chinese traveling to NL, Jiwen restaurant impressed me that the price is a little expensive and the service generally has a slightly longer waiting time but the taste is very good. I am very satisfied with this point. Parking is a bit of hassle but Jiwen Garden is probably the best Chinese restaurant in the city. Be sure to check out General Tao's Chicken. It's my go-to order.

Very stingy with their wong ton soup for some bizarre reason, I simply cannot understand why. They have told my friend that she cannot order the wong ton soup if it is the first order of the day, and turned away the order on many occasions. They refuse to add more wong tons or remove the thin pieces of meat if you don't like them. They absolutely refuse to accomodate the customer in any way, specifically in regards to wong ton soup.... it really baffles me that they make something that should be so simple as ordering soup into a negative experience. I have a friend who routinely orders it there and rather than treating her with kindness for being a repeat customer, they treat her as if she is an annoyance for enjoying that soup and ordering it often...... absolutely bizarre behaviour from the staff there, to say the least. The fact that they have an issue like this is very weird. They need to reevaluate the way they treat their customers!

The food was good but don't order the drinks, Tom Collins and the daiquiri 's were terrible. We couldn't get our money back on the drinks. We ordered the pie it literally was one bite, it wasn’t worth the money. The service was quick and the meal arrived within five minutes.

Me and my girlfriend went there last week, the food tasted good but made my girlfriend very sick for 3 days, and was throwing up the day after. And the appetizer we ordered was not like the menu described at all, we were expecting something way different. Sad to say we won't be coming back.

Sadly I had a terrible experience with this restaurant today and cannot recommend it to others. There was a mix up with a take out order in that one of the combination plates was missing when we arrived home with the order. We called to let them know and they said they would have it ready when we went back to pick it up. When I got there it still wasn't ready and they were rude, unprofessional and condasending. Didn't want to accept responsibility for their error or have any compassion for the fact that this inconvenienced us in this way. A family birthday supper with some having their food and others waiting. A number of times a waitress there said she had customers to deal with and didn't have time to check on the situation that they created. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
