DLC are great at snow clearing. Within an hour or two of the finish of snowfall they are out and do a great job on our driveway. If the snowfall is large they come several times and keep our driveway clear. Sometimes I have been surprised when we only got an inch or so, but they came anyway.

My relationship with DLC did not start off perfectly, likely because they are victim of their own success; along with permit delays which were admittedly not their fault and some delays due to their busy schedule, I was very anxious to get my project started. All that being said, this is still a five-star review because the end result was WELL worth the wait! I cannot speak enough about the DLC team excellence. Whether it be the detailed and intelligent plans (with multiple revisions) provided by Jocelyne, the coordination of Melanie, the professionalism of the ENTIRE working crew (seriously, I have never experienced this kind of white-glove service in my life, often doing more than what was necessary) or the overall understanding, reasonability and friendliness of Dexter, I was impressed the entire way. DLC can be a bit pricey, but you pay for the quality and management that goes along with the name. There is not a single thing I regret about choosing DLC for my project. I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

Reviewed- We finally got the proposal, a few days after writing our review... INITIAL REVIEW Terrible customer service. If you’re not a millionnaire, or it’s not written in your face that you have money, they will completely waste your time and prioritize many before you. What’s strange, is that our project is quite big, front, side and backyard all in landscaping with 3 decks. Was probably not big enough for them tough. So, they will charge you for a landscaping plan, and then they will either never send you the proposal, or will do after they’ve done all the 200K dollar contracts they have in the area. We’ve been patient: We’ve been waiting for a proposal since beginning of August. We’re now in November. Sent 3 emails to the designer Jocelyn and the owner Dexter, no response from no one. Will update if I ever hear back from them one day.

This snow plow company hit my car, we got two estimates of about 3000$ worth of damage caused by them, there was no previous damage to the car beforehand. We gave them the courtesy of going to the garage they recommended, but the mechanic clearly didn’t know what he was doing, and specifically said they would give an estimate that makes DLC happy. They have offered to pay 750$ worth of the damages they did ONLY if I take down this review or give them a five star rating. If I’m being completely transparent I would be giving them 0 star if I could.

Working with DLC and their team for our landscaping project was very smooth and they are super professional. The work was high quality and they left the site virtually spotless when they were done. I look forward to working with them on future project and services. UPDATE: Unfortunately I need to amend my review, the quality of their work has not stood up. the sand between the pavers was either poor quality or a bad batch and I am now embarrassed to have people over to sit outside. Last year within a few week we started having movement and gaps between the stones and after several attempts to get is fixed, one person was sent that did some good, but now we have sand missing all over the place that gets washed out every-time it rains. I was able to get a response after posting my review, and my defects have been partially fixed.

I asked for a quote on a handful of projects. Unfortunately, this company can't be bothered to do repair and restoration work. Unless you intend to revamp your entire yard with all new installations, don't waste your time with DLC.

I give DLC credit for coming to the rescue of so many Pointe-Claire residents stranded after Bo Pelouse went bankrupt. Within a couple of days we had our snow cleared and were ready for all the snow to come. DLC has provided fantastic service. I love the email alerts telling us when they will pass. For a big storm they cleared the driveway 3 times. I can’t imagine what we would have done without DLC. This is my first year with DLC but it definitely won’t be my last. Thank you DLC!

We have very bad experience with this company, specifically with Dexter Church. Initial meeting went well enough and we agreed that he will present a plan for our approval. Set up a following meeting and he was a no show and received no message from him at all. We called and he said he forgot to put our meeting in his calendar. That's fine; things happen and we rescheduled. Lo and behold, he doesn't show up again and doesn't email/call us to let us know he wouldn't be coming. This situation happened 3 TIMES. I find this very disrespectful, unprofessional and shows how unreliable he is. Or maybe they just don't cater to possible clients who they think aren't worth their time. Wish there was an option for NO star.

This, despite the fact we were shell-shocked, left with very few other short-term solutions and definitely quite skeptical about what to expect from DLC. But ...one year later... I'm very impressed with DLC's reliability and quality of service. Highly recommended!

I am beyond thrilled with the extensive work rendered by DLC this summer season. I was looking to have my whole landscaping redone, from new unistone driveway, unistone pool deck, patio and plantings and I could not be happier with how the project went and how it currently looks. Upon meeting Dexter, I knew he had my best interests as he walked me through the process and outlined all next steps. Throughout the job being executed, the staff was polite, respectful and kept my landscape tidy despite the immense job it was. They worked continually hard and with passion to get the job done. Dexter communicated with me every step of the way as far as how things were going and once done, we did a walk-around and Dexter confirmed I was fully satisfied. This was a very large project that I wanted done, and I can truthfully say, I could not have made a better choice than DLC to execute this flawlessly. DLC Green Team snow removal service = horrible!! I keep hoping they’ll prove me wrong...nope. Yesterday they came by at 4:30am and then not again until 2pm...9.5 hours?! Unexceptable! West Island Nersery had gone by 3 times in that period. And this morning guess who’s customers had to shovel the end of their driveway if they want to go to work....again?!? surprise DLC! Only snow removal service on our street not gone by. I will not be returning or referring!! Terribly disappointed!! Would rate 0 stars if possible.

DLC did not do any work for me, this is not a review of their work. This is about my experience of trying to get a simple quote. First contacted DLC in April, met with Dexter on May 1st, who came to my house to visit the work site and discuss the project. I followed-up, he said he could do the project and we’d “talk soon” to get more info to prepare a cost proposal. Shortly thereafter, Dexter asked for specs for the pool deck and other technical data for the pool so that he could work on a cost proposal- which I sent him right away. Then weeks and weeks go by with out any contact from him at all, I reach out again to discuss the project and he says “exposed aggregate”- I’ll work on the cost proposal tomorrow. Weeks and weeks pass again without any word…I email and he says sorry for the delay- can I have those specs again to work on a cost proposal? More time passes and nothing… As of today, nothing. I know covid has caused a huge demand for construction contractors of all kinds, but to keep a client waiting on a cost proposal for weeks and weeks without any communication is terrible. I have organized every aspect of this project: the pool estimate and contract signed within a few days, the pool fence + backyard fence- estimate and contract signed in 1 day. The pool electrician- site visit, estimate prepared and contract signed in a few days. Large Tree removed - organized in a day. All these other contractor were able to provide a quote in a few days. A Simple concrete pool deck- cost proposal almost 2 months and nothing?? No follow-up by Dexter at all. Completely unprofessional, inconsiderate and unacceptable for a client to have to chase you at every step and for you to keep a client waiting in the dark. I’m sure DLC will “find the time” to do some damage control and respond to this negative review; but they don’t have the time to communicate with a client??? Instead of damage control, just communicate with the client? Call me, text, email, Twitter, whatsapp, fb messenger, carrier pigeon…something, anything…done waiting……

I see many great reviews for the landscaping service but not as many for the snow removal. It's been a huge disappointment so far this year. We have had two snow falls so far and twice i removed the 3 cars in the driveway at 8:30 AM ... NO SHOW I complained and received an email explaining that they would only pass the following day. Still giving a two star as the lady taking care of customer service is pretty proactive but i have yet seen any improvement. Sorry for the bad review but we are more than 5 neighbours on the street that are not happy with the service this year. Regards

We were frustrated when Bo-Pelouse went under, but honestly, it was worth it because it led us to find DLC. The service is fantastic - I don't even know how they managed to turn on a dime and pick up so many new clients without skipping a beat, but they did. Every single person I have dealt with has been helpful and responsive. The digital updates and communications around every snowfall manage expectations and help us by giving us time to move our cars. Prices are fair, and they have not missed a day of service...So happy we found you guys!

Their service has deteriorated since they became DLC Greenteam, I was with Greenteam for 6 years and no issues, lawn maintenance, sping cleaning, cleaning leaves. Since DLC took over the service is not the same for the lawn, they used to clean the driveway and patio after every lawn maintenance from grass cutting and leaves now no more, I called and complained 5 times in a row (once per week), every time they promised to do it next time and next time never came. Changing companies come next summer.

We chased Dexter for 5 months after signing a contract and paying a 10% deposit on a complete landscaping project for a new build. Dexter was unresponsive until mid-September when he more than doubled the price for the job, with no explanation. In the end, no work was done. Dexter and DLC cost us an entire summer of stress and lost opportunity. They left us scrambling to find a new landscaper at the end of the season. We hope this review might help to spare at least a few people the stress and frustration DLC have caused us over the last months. If this is the service that DLC provides to clients with a signed contract and a promptly paid deposit, what will you get? If you need an APPQ-certified landscaper as we do (new build guarantee requires it), we would recommend visiting the website of the APPQ (Association des Paysagistes Professionels du Quebec) and hiring literally anyone else. We have already found other APPQ members who are more experienced, more responsive, and less expensive than DLC. Two landscapers have already quoted for the same work and both pointed out unnecessary extra costs and potential problems with some materials and design elements that Dexter proposed. We are hopeful that we actually dodged a bullet by not having the work completed by DLC. Below is a time-line of events. April 5th, 2021: Contract signed. Dexter says work should be complete by mid-June. April 8th: DLC has our deposit in their account. *We encounter some permitting issues which we understand will cause delays. We do everything possible to keep Dexter in the loop.* June 17th: All permits obtained We call multiple times and write several emails to establish the start date for our project. July 28th: Dexter finally responds. We expect work to start on September 7th. August: Three changes made to plans, all approved by Dexter. We request an updated quote to specify the additional costs. We expect changes will add a maximum of $10K to the project, likely less. September 6th: Dexter says the team will not come the following day due to expected thunderstorms. DLC don't appear on the 7th, or any time that week. Again, our calls and emails requesting updates on both dates and pricing go unanswered. We don’t hear from Dexter or anyone else from DLC for the entire week. September 13th: Dexter sends ‘updated’ quote saying “I worked on updating the quote this morning. Have a look and let me know what you think.” Our requested changes are not included, but other elements have been changed and the final cost is 2.24 times what we signed for. Dexter has not explained or addressed any of the new materials or costs. None are related to the changes we requested: Corten steel costs quadrupled (original $6,101.77, now $24,670.08); patio/driveway material replaced with a product never discussed that would cost $51,208.12 more than what we had chosen; other small, unexplained additional costs. We try all day to get in touch with Dexter to get some kind of explanation and information, to no avail. In the middle of the afternoon, we leave a voice message with Lisa, presumably the same DLC representative who tries to put out the Google Review fires. My wife says: "I'm just curious: could you please explain how DLC chooses whom to serve, and whom to neglect and disrespect?" Lisa has yet to respond. Meanwhile, we call the accounting team to request a refund on our deposit. We are transferred to Jean Kfoury, DLC’s controller. Jean's first question is: “How big is the job?” (i.e. if it's a small job by their standards, they're not going to do anything to help us) followed by “Have we started yet?” (i.e. the only way we're going to get any attention is if they stand to lose money on work already completed). We did receive a refund on our deposit, but no compensation for the stress, or the time and energy spent waiting and chasing DLC all summer. We never heard anything further from Dexter or anyone else at DLC.

It's a shame after reading the good reviews and having the owner come by to assess the work they were not responsive at all to provide a quote. I have sent multiple emails to the owner, the company email, placed many calls to the secretary, leaving voicemails, as they seemed they would do a good job . The secretary at 4 different instances said the owner would call me back for a quote and months and months have passed.. I have given up.

DLC repeatedly messed up my backyard, which sits at a slightly lower level than the yard where they worked. 1) They filled a hole with a gravel shooter and left a ton of gravel on my lot despite me asking them to remove it. Note that they only placed a tarp to prevent gravel from hitting my windows after I complained about it. 2) Several months later, when they put soil & grass on top of the gravel, they sprayed my entire back yard with soil -- on my outdoor dining table & chairs, etc. I asked them politely whether they would clean it once done but they never did (it may not look like much, but it would've taken at least an hour for me to clean up my yard, which should not be my responsibility). 3) What is most frustrating is that both times I complained politely to the highest ranking person on site, who reassured me DLC would take care of things, but in the end they never did anything about it. I am sure they would not have left their client's property in the state they left mine.

*** UPDATE *** I promise this review won't be as lengthy as my original one years ago (see below)... I re-hired Dexter and his team for a backyard makeover in a much more challenging location. Why? Because they ARE the professionals. They respected my neighbor's property, they conducted themselves with incredible professionalism and quality, and they finished on time and on budget. My second backyard looks phenomenal! Thank you once again Dexter & DLC Teams! ---------------------------- DLC was hired for our complete backyard makeover. The company was recommended by a real-estate acquaintance of ours who has since retired. Working with Dexter and his team was an absolute pleasure. We appreciated DLC’s methodical approach to our project. From the conceptual design to the actual physical work, DLC’s project management nearly eliminated all unexpected surprises. Budgeting was 100% transparent (I even spot checked some material pricing), and the precise design plans allowed us to visualize all the work prior to breaking ground. All this eliminated risk. DLC was extremely professional and did not hesitate in keeping us informed as the project proceeded. We would sometimes have to ask them when work would resume (mostly due to weather-related delays) but Dexter got back to us in a very reasonable amount of time. All of our previous home renovation projects experienced delays in some form or another. Our backyard makeover was no exception – this is the reality. However, Dexter’s explanations were more than acceptable to us, as was his desire to please us in return. DLC’s workers were also very professional and talented. This was evidenced by daily job site cleanliness, correcting minor situations, and overall courteous behaviour. All said, our backyard makeover surpassed our expectations and was done right on budget. We will eventually hire them back for new projects and would not hesitate in recommending Dexter & DLC.

Matt and his team always handle the customer's project as working on their own house. At the beginning of my project I was so worrying as there were many details, paving, concrete, flower bed and much more, but as the project went on, each of DLC team delivered good job, Dexter and Matt did all necessary adjustments to keep the project smooth. On Dec 30th 2019, a rival snow company ceased operations the day of a 15cm storm, leaving over 5000 West Island customers high and dry. DLC were quick to action and even offered to clear these peoples driveways for Free once the storm passed ! DLC quickly issued contracts to those without service and considering the sudden huge demand, I was able to put a contract in place with new signs in my yard within 2 days, all while they scrambled to clear thousands of new driveways. My snow service with DLC for winter 2020/2021 was exceptional. They send e-mails detailing when they intend to start clearer the snow, when they will come back for the second round etc.. We also get a text a few minutes before the truck gets there so we don't have to keep our cars in the snow and get snowed in by the city trucks. I will definitely be a customer of theirs for next winter. The only thing, their IT system doesn't allow to have two e-mail addresses or cell phone numbers per address. If I'm at work and my husband is home, I don't always check my phone to get the notice the truck is close and vice versa with my husband. If it was snowing I would always check. it's not their fault, it's the software. Would be nice though. Thank you DLC Snowteam for making the storms easier to manage :-) happy customers

The first time I worked with DLC was in the dead of winter a couple of years ago when the snow removal company I had engaged went out of business on the day of a snowstorm?! DLC was offering not just me but all of those that had been blindsided service!! It was seamless and appreciated. The team sends notifications when they’re passing fir snow removal…on more than one occasion I’ve removed my car and they have cleaned the driveway while I was waiting. PROMPT AND ACCOMMODATING. Fast forward to summer 2020. I engaged DLC to clear my backyard which was a literal forest. In one day the team cleared the space leaving no mess behind. Following that positive experience I engaged the team to plant a planter box in the front yard. Once again, professional and accommodating. One year later not pleased with the choice I’d made I reached out to DLC with my concerns. Once again, professional and accommodating we worked it out and I couldn’t be more pleased. It’s important to remember that none of the work I signed on for was thousands of $$ but I was treated as though it was. Clearly client satisfaction is key.

Must say that so far I’m very disappointed with the snow removal service. As an example, today Jan. 27,2021. It’s noon and my driveway is still not done. I look at my neighbors driveways, and theirs have been clean since I got up this morning at 7:00...and I just saw a WIN tractor go by to do another run. I thought I had made a smart move going to DLC, but so far must say that I was wrong. Hopefully DLC will get their act together and review their schedule snow removal services.
