Terrible experience. They delivered half my order. When I called back they said everything was delivered. They called me a liar. They came to my door with the rest of the order after a very unpleasant phone call and said if I wanted it I would have to pay. They made the claim that this was the 7th, yes 7th, complaint from my address they've received. I have never ordered from china garden before and never do I plan to order again.

Asked if spring rolls had meat and they told me no, got them and they were filled with meat. They took them and dissected them and staff “tried” them they brought back the “tried” rolls to me and expected me to eat them after staff had tasted them. didn’t touch them and went to pay and they charged me for them and when voiced concerns they looked at each other and ignored me. Usually like this spot but very rude and honestly disgusting service.

Order took close to 2 hours for delivery and the food was cold and chow mein was one big Clump, battered chicken and shrimp was soggy and tough. Egg rolls were cold and soggy.

Owners haven’t a clue on how to run a restaurant. Restaurant opens at 4pm, called to ask if we could eat in & was told, yes. Arrived at 7pm for 3 people & was told that they weren’t taking any more orders. I thought it was a joke but, nope. We were told that they had to make egg rolls. They shut down the whole restaurant 3 hours after they opened because they needed to make egg rolls. Again, I thought it was a joke but, nope. We left. We should have paid attention to all of the negative reviews that we had read on Yelp, Trip Advisor & Facebook. The owners need to hire someone who knows how to run a restaurant. Wendy Russell

I know this is a local business and we should be supporting them but the cleanliness and safety they have for food goes beyond unsanitary. It's just plain insanity. Rice had no flavour, chicken balls tasted like they were overcooked and reheated, the spare ribs were nasty, the waitress looked as if she was dressed for the gym. Tried to leave takeout container behind and they wouldn't let us, made us take it. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

This is the best tasting Chinese food in Charlottetown. The man who greets you is so friendly and genuine. They must have new owners. Changing my 1 star review to a 5. Have eaten there 5 times in the last 6 months and taste and service are consistent. Better than Canton Cafe ???? My wait times have never been more than 20 minutes. Food always hot and fresh. Old review : Terrible customer service. Misleading prices on EatsPEI.

The way they set it up for delivery is so convenient and neat. Very professionally done, also the food tasted great. Couldn't point out anything really wrong with it, big portions of everything for an awesome price! My fiancé and I agree that it is one of our favourite Canadian Styled Chinese places on the island so far.

We decided not to order what we were told would take up to 40 minutes to save some time. Shocked to wait almost 2 hours for the food, which the chicken wasn't even hot when it came. To add insult to injury we were offered a 5% discount for the long wait. The only saving grace is the food - as always - tasted great.

Their service is beyond awful. I have been to Charlottetown twice, and have come to China Garden both times, yet I have waited over 40 minutes until any server took our order both times. If I could give them a zero out of 5, I would.

Don't waste your money here, there are much better Chinese restaurants! Everything about my meal was poor quality and bland. The beef and broccoli was essentially long pieces of broccoli stems and a few pieces of chewy beef. The eggroll was a hunk of firm, meaty filling, and the chicken balls were 90% breading smothered in a terrible sauce. This was overpriced yet cheap food just thrown together as a cheap way to say you're a restaurant owner.

My wife and I made the mistake of ordering here because of another person's favourable recommendation but we ended up throwing out most of the food. The "Beef with Vegetables" ... vegetables were overcooked but the beef was raw - disgusting. The sweet and sour chicken balls were very dry. this meal was a waste of $40

I ordered a chicken dish and when it arrived it had almost no chicken in the dish, after which I called back to inquired why there was not much chicken I was told that was the way the dish is served. I was given no recourse nor was the manager or the owner available to help in this matter. The person on the phone pleasant but very much unable to do anything to make things right! Its very disappointing to have a meal delivered and it sucks! I would not recommend this place to my enemies! If I could give it a negative rating I would.

Terrible, terrible service. Called in order and was told it would be ready in 45 minutes. Arrived at the restaurant 40 minutes after placing the order, walked out with food after 1.5 hours of placing order. People were coming in, ordering and sitting down eating their food while we were waiting for ours. After reminding them that we placed order 1.5 hours earlier, one person gave excuses that it was taking so long because we substituted a couple of items in our combos and another person was complaining about someone answering the phones and taking more orders. $100+ order and they gave us $10 off for waiting twice as long. Carrying the food into the house and it leaked all over our clothing. Tried to call to inform this but they weren’t answering their phones. Plus the food didn’t have much taste. Not impressed at all

Ordered take out, the chicken balls were saugy as if they were microwaved. The egg rolls were clearly burnt, black on the inside dark brown on the outside, Yuk! The beef n broccoli was flavourless the rice was hard. It’s overpriced I went in at 7 pm and the place was empty, I now know why. I wouldn’t recommend it to a drunk person.

We should have left....there was no one in the dining room for service...the man from Charlottetown Express was taking orders..when our food finally arrive the rice was covered in oil from the wok...my advice leave and order in..it seems takeout was the main priority

The place to go after a night at the bar. Food's reasonable quality canadian style Chinese food. I've always had issues with them bringing all the food out at different times. Might be better if you only get a combination plate. Better options around town.

Worst service I've had. I placed an order for delivery, and after an hour of waiting i called to see where it was. She didn't even know but said that it should be there any minute. I then waited almost another hour for it to arrive not even warm and paid 54$. Almost two hours of waiting, not warm and expensive/no compensation for the inconvenience. Never ordering here again.

And on top of that, the wait times are insane! They will tell you 45 minutes, but you’ll actually sit there for 2 hours. Horrible customer service.

Went 40 minutes out of my way plus added a tip to get home and have my order be wrong. Offered to “fix it next visit” when called for an explanation as to why the order was wrong. That doesn’t help right now, the order tonight is still wrong. Won’t be back. Plus got half a dish of plums sauce for two orders. ????

We were told it would be ready at 615....it wasn’t! An hour later! After being told it would only be ten mins to wait...it was an hour! And one of the entrees wasn’t closed properly and as I held it carefully upright it leaked all over me in the car, on my jeans, on my coat, on the car seat and floor! When I got out of car the bottom of the paper bag broke from the syrupy spill and all entrees fell out into the snow! Not cool for a New Years treat! Never again!

Would literally give zero stars. Went in tonight with my sister and my friend, friend was only slightly wild drunk. Friend was threatened by new owner with cops before he even had a chance to make it to the counter to pay. New owner was quite rude and unwelcoming the minute we walked through the door. Have eaten at china garden since it opened and have never been treated the way we were treated tonight. Food was tasteless, and the beef in the beef and broccoli was slimy and tasted like fat.

Went to China Garden the first weekend in March. I ordered on the phone just a normal plate, and they told me 45 minutes but it was an hour and a half before I got my food. No apologies in fact I didnt complain because she was getting enough trouble from a table that was also waiting up to 2 hours for their food and they even brought out the food to 2/4 of the people at the table. But she actually said they wait until their food was done and then they dont want it but food takes time.. yet she didnt think to tell them itd be 2 hours when he ordered it? Anyways, after I ate this food by the morning I wasnt able to keep anything down. And everything was disgusting i only had a few bites of the rice, and it was so gross, and then like one rib and that was disgusting. So I ended up missing 3 days of work and had to restart my training. This obviously affected my life alot.. and then I read on CBC that they were shut down March 4th for like 20 violations.. so I'm assuming they weren't even supposed to be open. NEVER GO HERE. Unless you want food poisoning. If you want good chinese food go to the one in cornwall or make your own.

The "Shrimp Curry", as it's labeled on the menu, is by far the worst rice dish I have ever consumed in my life. The sauce, watered down and bland, was cold and had about as much kick as my 6 month old cousin. The rice was cold and stale. Quite frankly I would have drowned it in soya sauce, yet the meager one paquet they provided would do no good. Any other chinese option in Charlottetown is a significant upgrade over this place. Furthermore, any grocery store offered frozen alternative would best this. Save your dollar and put it towards a more valuable alternative like Premium Plus Salted Top crackers.
