I hired SMC for 2018/19 snow removal at my elderly inlaws' house. Huge mistake! 1. On lighter snow days they didn't show up. Example Jan. 27. 7.5cm, had to call them to come. 2. They don't always clear the sidewalk. Example Jan. 27, which I texted them about. 3. Sometimes they only clear half of the driveway. Example Jan. 29, which I texted them about. 4. Sometimes they don't salt the walkway. Example Feb. 13, which I texted them about. 5. Sometimes they don't salt anything. Example Feb 18, which I texted them about. Showed up 3 days later to de-ice but failed miserably and left 3 inches of ice covering the entire driveway! They then reimbursed $330 of the $800 paid up front and terminated the contract. They held on to $470 of these elderly pensioners' money and left them with a dangerous driveway completely covered in ice. That's $470 for 5 occurrences of sloppy, incomplete service. I have texts, photos and e-mails to verify everything stated here so it is irrefutable. This is how they treated a vulnerable, elderly couple. Shame on you Spring Man Canada.

I hired Springman to re-sod our back yard. They came and gave a quote that was better than anyone else we had spoken to. They also were able to fit us in to their schedule immediately and set a date for the next week. and although the project was delayed by two days due to rain they came in a few hours after the rain stopped and completed the job in under 4 hours. The worker were courteous and professional. They took care of all of the debris/ yard waste and we were left with a “new” yard. We couldn’t be more thrilled. Especially great to get the sodding done in the fall during a rainy spell so the grass is thriving.

Damian and crew recently re sodded my front yard and they did a fantastic job ! They were punctual, neat, quick workers and very efficient ! Would highly recommend them for your garden needs! I wrote this review a month ago ... in the month that the sprinklers were installed Zone 1 stopped working when I called Mike to have it repaired, I was told that they are closed for the season and would only repair it next year. I do not understand why a brand new sprinkler system is not working ..and why a repair on it cannot be done now , when we installed this just a month ago. I’ve not had a single pleasant dealing with Mike. Damian and crew were so nice to deal with ...Mike is very rude over the phone.

We hired this company to remove and replace our lawn in the backyard. Damien was very pleasant and we were quoted a price for the size and agreed in the scope of work. Our date was pushed 3 times by the company and when they did come, the job was rushed. We also had to pay more over a disagreement on the size of the grass. We followed the company's instructions for watering and hired them to fertilize the lawn. 6 months later and our grass is riddled with weeds and bare spots. No lawn will be weed free but we have over +160 weeds for 500sqft. Small pieces of sod were used for odd angles and edges and these did not survive the winter. It seems they were used to just give the appearance of covering these areas. Overall it wasn't a good experience. I recommend you do your research on what your lawn needs are and hire accordingly.

Wow! I’m posting because of the poor work that these guys did. We hired them this year to plough our driveway. Our driveway was sometimes not ploughed. And forget about calling them. They don’t answer your call when you complain! I read some of the previous reviews and it seems that the owner of this company only wants to talk smack if you complain. Well, why doesn’t he just make it right, do the right thing. When you do a bad job own up to it. Update: April 10, 2019 Here is my reply: Sorry (not sorry), no I don't ever want to do business ever with this company. Have you heard....."once bitten twice shy."I WAS a customer and I will never hire you again because you do not honour your contracts. I don't even want a refund. I just don't want your business again. DONE!

Very unprofessional company...waited all day for a delivery no one showed up, then I was told that delivery would be coming the next day then postponed again for the next week and in the end I had no delivery. They wanted money before they got here which was not what we had discussed. I was told if I didn’t send a deposit I wouldn’t get a delivery. I would be very careful to ensure you are being understood as to the scope of your job as there are many different people involved in the quoting process. Individually all seem lovely, but not coordinated. Different teams do different things, one guy came out to quote - he said he'd be quoting for the whole job, but then another guy called to say they'd need a service charge to come out to quote. This after I"d received a price for the sodding. My job was for a new sprinkler install and new sodding for the backyard, plus sprinkler repair for the front yard plus new patches of sodding, and key information that I'd spent time explaining did not make it through to the people who appeared to actually be doing the work (and providing pricing). Also, the online form - I filled it out with all my information and some guy sent an email asking for my contact information. I also phoned. They may do good work, but not sure I have confidence. Buyer Beware... I won't be calling again. On May 3, 2020 I was happy to connect with Spring Man Canada (Damian) to do a sod cut and remove job. See attached 1.BlumfieldBeforeMay3-2020. I agreed with Damian that he would remove 120 sq. ft of sod for $350. After removal I planned to install 12 5X2 ft sod rolls (to replace what had been removed). The attached 2.AfterSMC_CutRemoveSod shows the area after SMC had finished. The bottom of the picture shows a 5X2ft sod roll that I had unrolled... and I had 11 5X2ft sod rolls left (not nearly enough had been cut and removed)! The third attachment shows the site after I had installed 7 sod rolls. I will still cut 1 sod roll to fill the uncovered strip. This means I will have 4 more sod rolls (40 sq ft) with no place to install. This has become a much larger job now and I'm sorry I called Spring Man Canada for help.

First they do not show up when they give you the time. They will keep saying that they will be coming in an hour but they will show up as per their convenience. Don’t trust on the time given by them. As per understanding, they had to do following steps: 1. Tilling surface areas by rototiller with 3” excavation depth with new soil (approx 2 Yards Triple and top Mixed) 2. Leveled and graded Compacted the area to ensure proper water drainage and sloping 3. Lay daily-fresh Kentucky Blue Sod 4. Clean-up of property But when they started the work, they just shaved the grass and didn’t remove the soil. They just added a couple of wheel barrows of soil to cover some patches only. The sodding they did is full of weed. The job was done on June 22nd, 2020 and the result can be found with full of weeds on July 19th, 2020. They promised that they will come for the spray but after many many reminders they didn’t show up so I had to write review about them so other people can save their time and money going into waste. On Mr. Damian request, I sent him pictures of grass with full of weeds through whatsapp. In his reply, he mentioned that there is no guarantee of Sodding and we can do only weed spray. I requested him to do the weed spray but he or his team never showed up. Overall I had a bad experience with this Company due to poor quality work and grass with full of weeds used by them and didn’t do 3 inches excavation as there were supposed to do.

I called them on 26 sept 2020 and they made a deal to deliver 600sq feet grass sod for $380 on 28 September but they didn’t show up and texted me it will be delayed. They said it will instead be delivered in the afternoon. Nobody showed up so I called again around 5 o’clock and now they say the item will be delivered on next day without any time slot and price will be $450. This is inappropriate and a very negative services towards customers. I took my day off to wait for them, but these people ruined my entire day. Please do NOT get services from them as they are NOT reliable people! UPDATE: I gave them other chance to correct their unreliability issues. Upon further conversion they agreed to deliver the product by Tuesday afternoon. However, now they are telling me it’s gonna take longer to get the product, so for this reason I have lost trust in their service and will recommend people not use their service.

After getting new grass and sprinklers installed, alot of the front portion was not getting enough water, i discussed this with mathew and he promptly sent over a technician to fix the issue however, the tech agreed that some portion of the lawn needed to be replaced as i had spent alot of money on sprinklers and sod and a portion of it was ruined. I conveyed this to Damian, who said to contact him after a week. Now Damian is not replying to my messages or phone calls. Its sad for a small patch of lawn these guys are doing this when i spent well over 5000 on the entire project. Goes to show you how proffessional Damian is.

I called this company to get a quote on removing a tree, early on a Friday afternoon. In less than 2 hours Matthew arrived and provided a quote that was acceptable to me. A crew (4 people, including Matthew and Damian) arrived on Saturday morning and removed the tree ang ground down the stump and roots. When I had a chance, the next day, to look at the stump and roots that remained, I was concerned they were too high and the lawn would not be level when new sod was laid. I called the company on Monday morning and spoke to Matthew. Without hesitation or resistance he said someone would be around to fix it no later than Tuesday. Damian arrived Monday afternoon and addressed my concern to my total satisfaction. Thank you Damian and Matthew; I consider that great customer service!

I initially was impressed with Springman Canada as I called to have landscaping done in my backyard and have new sod laid done. They sent someone the same day to give me a quote, he called to give me a heads up he was on his way and time frame to be there, then we went over everything to be done for the yard. He measured and said that I would have a quote back within the afternoon. After about an hour then their Sod manager Damian texted me with a quote. I messaged back and we agreed on a price and set the schedule for the following Wednesday. I took the day off to make sure I was available and ready to answer any questions when they arrived to do the backyard. Damian confirmed himself Tuesday night for Wednesday installation. This is where the company lost all goodwill and service went way downhill. I repeatedly asked Damian Tuesday night when I can expect them on Wednesday and didn’t get an answer. Wednesday morning I messaged again asking when and he said in the afternoon but they can’t remove the posts that was already discussed and agreed upon. That’s not possible because we are going to have a deck installed later and need the ground cleared and I already went through this clearly with Springman’s representative during the quote. Damian messaged me back at 9:44am he’ll have to look into it and get back to me. I explain can he please get back to me before noon so I can start planning my day and options going forward. 12 noon comes and goes and I send another text message asking again can he please update me as to what is going on and are they still coming? I don’t hear anything for an hour and then I decide to call, where Damian informs me that they can’t do the project they agreed upon and want more money before even showing up. I’m flabbergasted as we arranged this day a week before and he reconfirmed on Tuesday night! I ask him what’s changed and why did they not express this at anytime before my call to him at 1pm on the Wednesday they are meant to be working on my backyard? He said he can’t do it for the price quoted because of the posts that were always very clearly discussed and he wants more money. I kindly tell him that this is not the proper way to do business and their communication on this day has dramatically fallen short. I also say that I’m not interested in any of their services if this is the way their company operates. Just to clarify the owner Mathew’s obfuscation below. There was nothing about this review stating that a project needed to be next day or done immediately. The job was set up a week before and for an agreed upon date with his partner Damian. Matthew looked into the issue above and found that Damian did not read through the whole notes true quoter provided for the job. I appreciate that Matthew took the time to look into the breakdown in communication and hope he will stress to Damian that inaction can damage a companies reputation very quickly. Plus I have no 6 foot wooden posts in my backyard so it’s difficult to remove something that’s not there. The devil is always in the details. Mistakes happen, I know and acknowledge that but leaving customers high and dry with no communication is not a proper response. I raised my review of the company to 3 from 1 out of 5 because of Matthew’s call to me and his investigating the issue.

These folks are very responsive. They came to give a quote for a sprinkler system same day we called. For our own reasons we needed to wait a couple months to install and they honoured the quote, eventually saved us money with efficiency, and worked around our sod guy's schedule. When we needed an adjustment after the sod went in they came same day so our sod could be watered fully and immediately. This is a great company that cares about their work product and their customers.

I contacted this company for a quote on new sod for our backyard as we just installed a pool and the existing sod was damaged. I was provided a quote by Damian who is apparently a manager. I was not sure that he understood the degree of damage so I sent him pictures, the price went from $1600 to $2200. We decided on Friday, June 9th and then when I messaged him to reconfirm it was pushed to Saturday, June 16th. I just messaged him to reconfirm and again he says he's not available because he's too busy. Needless to say we are no longer going to use their services. Absolutely unprofessional.

I hired this company for a sodding installation service and there's an obvious area in my backyard around the tree that they completely disregarded as part of the job. I assumed that they would bring it up to me or propose a solution with an adjusted total price, but they did not. instead, when I brought it up to see what they can do, they came back with an outrageous quote that was about half of what I already paid for the 700sqft job. keep in mind that this area under the tree was 36 sqft so it should have been a reasonable accommodation. Stay away from this company if you'd like to avoid a total lack of professional courtesy.
