Had a quote done for some work we were looking to get done in our backyard, and I am glad I did not go with this business. The bill for the quote was not mailed to us, it was not emailed to us and when we contacted them they claimed they sent both. Did we get a new bill sent out, of course we didn't, we got the blame being told we must have not checked our spam email. Did they make any effort to contact us about things? No. Did they follow through on sending our bills? No, there is no way it took 4 attempts for the bill to get to us if they were doing things correctly. My only guess is they used the wrong info when billing which is beyond sloppy. The boss isn't on top of things, and the billing person should have made a better effort to ensure prompt billing.

I reached out to Elizabeth asking what plants that are suitable for inside the house with very little maintenance. I needed a few fillers for the house. We purchased some aloe plants and succulents and in a few short weeks transplanted them into new pots and they look lively and are blooming nicely. We lucked out with those because they can sit by the window and don't need much love. Perfect suggestions!

Best service in town!!...(or just outside of town ;) In early April, in the middle of the Covid lockdown, I was bored and looking for a project. I contacted John's Nursery to get some shrubs to expand and make new gardens. Blake called me right away. He was very knowledgeable and helped me pick the best varieties for my space. They have a TON to choose from. They offered free delivery too!!! Most of my shrubs grew beautifully. Unfortunately 2 of them never grew. I contacted Blake and he happily replaced them, no problem. (almost 2 months later!!) Great product. Amazing staff!!!

For years this was a go-to place for me and my wife to get flowers, potting soil, christmas trees, etc. We kept coming back because we were always treated well and with respect here. Until today that is. We dropped by earlier to get some flowers for my mother-in-law and I guess accidentally grabbed an item that was not yet priced. At the checkout we were greeted by a "manager" whom I can only describe as an arrogant a-hole. Right off the bat, he proceeded to lecture us, as we were a couple of 6-year-olds, about how we should not be going around touching things that are not priced, and then made us return the flowers. Needless to say, we will not be setting foot at this place again and will take our money elsewhere.

I have nothing but great things to say about the work that John’s Nursery did at my house. It all started with me meeting with their designer, Elizabeth, to review what we were doing, which was essentially an entire backyard overhaul. Part of the overhaul was creating new garden beds, which meant we were starting with a clean slate, however my wife and I aren’t “green thumbs” at all, so we put our trust in Elizabeth, and it was a fantastic decision on our part. Our request was simple; make it colourful and easy to maintain. The photos speak for themselves. Elizabeth took the time and photoshopped her vision of the garden beds, which helped us envision what the final product would look like. This was a huge help! Their work is second-to-none, and as a result of the last year of fantastic experiences with them I have referred several clients to them. We plan to continue to utilize John’s Nursery for garden bed maintenance, and are absolutely thrilled with the experience we’ve had working with them since last summer. Usually I plant my own window boxes this year I purchased 3 from John's Nursery, more than I wanted to spend but they were nice looking and very full. So happy I bought theme they are magnificent, we get compliments all the time how beautiful our window boxes are. Will definitely shop there next year!

Awesome service and great landscape design service. These guys installed our gardens as well as some huge trees in our backyard. Great service from start to finish. I've been to the garden centre as well and they have a lot of great plants and trees. Staff was always friendly and very helpful. I'll be back for a Christmas Tree soon.

All I need to say is Blake needs a raise, this man is the goat. Not only did he endlessly search with us to find our dream tree, but he catered to our best interests. If you visit the place, I highly recommend looking for Blake, an example of a perfect employee. Thank you Blake.

Be careful when you go here they will try to up charge you for different services and tell you things are included that they charge you after trees are ok but it's obvious there in the business for a quick buck.

We were looking for a Japanese Maple and John himself advised best at most reasonable price. Came with very detailed care information which we have never received from other nurseries in the past.

Don't let the unassuming entrance fool you - this place is a gem (and huge!). I visited for the first time this past weekend and, even this late in the season I was absolutely impressed with their stock. Not the same ol' same ol' trees and shrubs that you see in many other garden centres, but a ton of variety with great prices to boot. They also carry hard to find soil amendments which I appreciate. The true "cherry on top" when it comes to a garden centre is the staff - they are wonderful! And the owner, John - well, let's just say it's obvious how much he cares about his customers. John's Nursery is now on my permanent list of garden centres to visit each year. Can't wait until next spring - I'll be bringing the utility trailer for sure!

Inventory is just arriving. The plants I bought were healthy and hardy. Staff was amazing. Even though they were very busy, they took the time to explain everything I needed to know about planting and caring for my new plants. Highly recommend! Support local!

Took my family to johns nursery friday night to pick out our Christmas trees. The staff was very friendly and helped us pick two perfect trees. My daughters loved the trip there and enjoyed picking out our trees. I think we found a New family tradition for picking our trees :)

Wow. Saturday of the Victoria Day Weekend. Of course they are busy. They have absolutely no system for efficiency. The "manager" was running around and yelling at both staff and customers. He was literally going to explode. We have bought several trees from Johns nursery in the past and always dealt with John senior, a true professional and a gentleman. I assume that his sons have taken over the business and they are running it into the ground. Sorry John senior, we will not be back. We don't need to be yelled at by your obnoxious and arrogant son. We will spend our money elsewhere.

July 5 - only place in the area with stock!!! All plants at other nurseries were old, brown, falling apart and/or barely alive. John’s is stocked like its May 24 still. Great selection, and healthiest plants. Good prices too.

Last spring I entered into a contract with your landscape designer, Elizabeth to replace shrubs and excavate and re-surface a small area. I spent over $1000.00 with your company and when one of the 10 shrubs that Elizabeth sold me and your team installed didn't make it through the winter and is now dead, to learn that you won't replace it, I am shocked. Ironically, when Elizabeth first presented her ideas and sketches for the area, the plants she was suggesting be planted in the boxes were not as hardy as my final choice of yews and boxwoods. Yews and boxwoods had previously lasted 10 years in those same boxes before replacing them last year. So for you to not replace the one unlucky yew is disappointing and will certainly end my shopping at your business. Considering your cost of a small yew, it seems like a cruel business decision.

Blake is a fantastic employee. Super patient and pointed us in the right direction both times we came here. He answered all of our questions thoroughly but ultimately left the decision of which tree we purchase up to us without being pushy or pressuring us. He never rushed us and took the time to make sure we knew everything about the tree we were getting. Funny, intelligent and super helpful. Blake is THE man.
