Only one cashier.

A big thank you to store manager Derrick !!! He was able to get the shower door and base we ordered , on a super sale; even though the store was in chaos, with the change in ownership. And, Derrick also gave us an extra 15% off, for inconvenience ! :) Thank you , Derrick !

Terry Gardiner

In order to have a staff member for each customer, it would most likely increase the costs of all their products quite a bit. I'm no financial analyst. I've always had terrific luck with Rona - good quality product, knowledgeable staff, etc, etc... That being said, you may have to wait for a staff member to help, however, they know what they are talking about.

Chris Frank

Good selection but usually more expensive then their competitors. Also they do not track sales by credit card so you need a receipt for a return. I'm a guy so receipts naturally disintegrate upon acceptance. Not as easy to deal with as competition.

Unless you go on a Saturday afternoon, good luck finding anyone to help you. This location is a 30 second drive from me, but I still go down to Home Depot in the Sunrise Plaza, that's how frustrating this place is.

Was buying laminate flooring today. There were four young teenagers five feet from me and none of them offered to help me move the 15 boxes!! Not impressed!!

EA Locksmith

Good promotions and very helpful staff. Was quite pleased with my experience here. Purchased stones for my fireplace wall at 20% off.

Never been there sense Lowes took over Rona. But as rona it was a amazing store.

Dave Patterson

I have stopped shopping here, I feel like a need a shower after shopping there and everyone is treated as if they are going to steal something.

Jessica Smith

I had an amazing experience returning ceiling tiles that had been packaged wrong. Peter the lumber manager went the extra mile helping me and finding more boxes of tiles that had been packaged wrong. He took the time to open and check the boxes. Too many to count, that got shipped wrong from the manufacturer. Thank you so much Dennis

Tim Snider

I always try to buy from Rona. Especially now with the Mr. America first. Sadly Rona suffers from employees that are mediocre, therfore service suffers.

It is a little out of the way for me but if can't find it at Home depot I usually find out here.

Good service. Satisfy. Surprise with all the bad review. Maybe the management team really need to step up on their training to rebuild their reputation.

Quinn Hollohan

I've never seen a home improvement store that's so disorganized!!! it's horrific 8n 3c34u single department, nothing is where it's supposed to be and staff are clueless, frequently shouting at each other across the entire store. Not the only visit this applies to

Jason Soerensen

I'm a contractor and this particular store provides, by far, the worst customer service I've ever experienced! Because it's Canadian, I initially made it my first choice but I've had so many bad experiences that it's now the last place I go. The store is organized for what works best for the store...not the customer. They rarely answer the phone at the contractor's desk...instead you leave a message and they get back when it fits their schedule. Although staff are helpful when you speak with them, that's difficult because they are regularly understaffed. I've even had to hunt someone down to open the drive in lumber yard...then again to let me out! During my visits there I've seen three people leave while visibly angry and loudly swearing never to return. After they screwed up the same lumber order three times in a row, the assistant manager agreed to give me a 10% discount because the promotion was on at the time. When I went in the following week the general manager refused to honour the discount and he wasn't pleasant about it......I was the fourth to storm out of the store fuming. If you're an occasional shopper, you might be lucky enough to have a good experience, but if you go there regularly I'm sure you'll eventually change to the competition. This place has serious management/ownership problems and I'm surprised it's tolerated by Rona!

I don't write reviews but it's astounding that Rona operates the way it does. Checked the store inventory for cedar trees online which showed 19 units available. I realized outdoor items can be unreliable to track but in this day and age, there is no excuse to be off by a quantity of 19 units of presumably stocked items. Drove from Guelph first thing Saturday morning only to find out that no trees were available. Staff was completely unhelpful and provided no effort to locate any other store that may have the trees in stock. With competition likes Lowes and Homedepot I would think that Rona would be doing everything possible to retain customers.

A few years ago, I walked out of this store because of bad customer service, going to Home Depot instead. Now back in the area, I thought I'd try it again because not only is it relatively close, but it's Canadian. I was really disappointed to discover that absolutely nothing had changed! I couldn't find a staff member to help me anywhere in the departments I went to. When I finally did manage to catch someone in the paint department, it was after waiting for 15 minutes while he dealt with other customers, and even then, he was so evidently in a hurry to finish with me that I gave up after my first question. Serious understaffing issues! If you know what you want and either know where to find it in the store or have the time to walk around looking for it, this place is okay for the most part (they don't have the selection that Home Depot does). But God help you if you need help or advice! Just go to Home Depot to start with.

Don Kraemer

Under renovation, but you can still buy.

Love Rona. Their staff are amazing

Closing soon. Liquidating prices. Most items on clearance. Lowe's will open up here soon!

NOIR. E.L

Best cutting center of any big box store I've been to. Hopefully Lowes doesn't mess with it too much.

Thomas Nelson

Lenny Leopere

Worst customer service possible.

Dee Philip

Ok place to shop...gòod deals...employees seem dissengaged. Possibly due to the fact the store is closing

Benjamin Madill

Horrible store. The new manager is by far the worst of the bunch. June 3rd lumber yard was a disaster. New wood just thrown into piles making thousands of dollars in wood wasted. Never ever seen this level of buffoonery ever in a retail outlet.

Mike Steinborn

Very helpful staff, always ready to help when you need it.

Daniel Rojas

John Bowers

Good selection. They have an outdoor lumber yard which the neighbouring Home Depot lacks.

Pauline Mach

Great place for home supplies

Ed Lee

Carlo Fusco

Check out is always slow and departmental help is never around. Save a trip and shop elsewhere!

Pavel Denau

Only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that they take air miles. Other than that, customer service is rude and not helpful. Aisles are always cluttered. Products are often misplaced or hard to find. Difficult to locate knowledgable staff. Never seem to have more than 1 person at cash. I usually use the contractors entrance so I don't have to wait 10 minutes just to pay but the contractor cashier closes at odd times. I usually try to avoid this store unless in a pinch. Step up your game Rona

CATHERINE COLEMAN

Worst store ever unfortunately i cant give them negative stars, terrible customer service, they never answer their phone, associates don't know what they are talking about, staff are swearing inside the store, when i asked someone for help i was told the person didnt work in this department but they would page someone for me they walked away i never heard a page and waited there for 20 minutes without seeing an associate i finally just walked out of the store and went to lowes on ira needles which has amazing customer service, no wonder rona is closing so many stores this store needs to be next.

Warren G. Schmidt

Good place to buy decent items at good prices. They have sales quite often and offer discounts all the time. They are a bit understaffed though.

Zen Smith

Always someone ready to help me find what I need..????

Sean Stubbs

Worst customer service in any store I have ever been. First you have to wait 15 minutes to even find someone and when you ask for any help from employers they act as doing a favor to you. Employees are rude and arrogant. One had the balls to tell me I wasted his time.

Mahmoud Elshafei

This location is currently renovating to become Lowes. They advertise percentages off certain departments but none of the staff know about it. Ended up not getting discount on some items but the customer service line was too long to wait in for refunds to be worthwhile.

Nina Rose

Love this store, prefer over home depot.

As an owner of a very large 300 year old building, I have spent many dollars a week at all three box stores. None have any kind of customer service as they are all short staffed with very little knowledge. This is a head office issue for all 3 stores or should I say two. Even though Lowes made an announcement that it is purchasing Rona in 2016, there was a lot of canadian stipulations that were part of the deal. I try to only buy from Canadian companies and although this may be american owned, they are still Canadian run. Keeping a lot of jobs in Quebec. For that they are a 5 star.

Michael MacDONALD

Large verity and Canadian owned.

I've been going to this store for over 10 years. I liked it long ago when the staff and service were good and the store was kept up. Back then I picked it over Home Depot because I felt it was better. Since then it has been in steady decline and today I only go if I have no other option. Selection isn't great, finding someone who knows anything is pretty hit and miss, and even though I only go in knowing exactly what I want I find my time is wasted so often. Things aren't always where they should be and sometimes prices are missing and so on. It's just not that good. The contractor entrance is open sometimes, other times you walk up to it and it turns out to be closed but of course they don't give any clue, so now you have to waste time walking over to the other entrance which is the furthest from where you just parked. I also gave up on the cut shop years ago because of the wait time and restrictions. I could go on but basically everything that used to be good about the store no longer is. In fairness to the staff I have met some good ones who cared but that is the exception rather than the rule. I don't know how this store keeps competing against Home Depot and Lowes. I do not think it's a Rona problem in general - the Cambridge Rona is much better than this location. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that I have found it to be open sometimes when other stores are not (Sunday evening for example) so it serves a purpose in a pinch.

Great people like Dave to help us customers out. I prefer shopping here to Home Depot. Helpful and friendly people. Air miles. Contractor discounts. I hope this store keeps its underdog feel as it transitions to a Lowes in the very near future.

Jim Herman

Wanted to buy lumber today to attempt our home garden project... New at it and needed to buy a new drill, screws and all wood. My guess is my bill is around $500, too bad no one had time to help me or ask how they can help. Had my Wife and 3 kids there so it's not like we went un noticed. Oh well off to Home Depot I guess.

A B

Horrible customer service- been here a couple of time and find that theres nobody ever around to help us out

P Vuc

TERRIBLE customer service, stood in line at the customer service counter, 6 people behind the counter just laughing and talking to one and other. Until we said something they didn't gesture to assist us. We were returning items and when we asked to speak with the manager the customer service employee rolled her eyes when relaying our question to the manager over the phone. Saturday, Mar 18th they had 15% off on everything in the store for purchases over $100. We spent on our first purchase $349 before tax. We asked if we could take our purchase to the car and come back in and continue shopping and still get the 15%. We were told "yes" just show the cashier the receipt. On our second trip back into the store, we purchased about $50 worth of plants and potting mix. When we got to the till, they would not give us the 15% off. We walked away from our purchase. Something is going VERY WRONG with their training program. It is hard to believe that consistently staff would be rude, unwilling to help and complacent if trained to the contrary. The common theme when reading Rona's reviews are "customer service issues" simply the easiest thing to remedy.

Frances van Dieren

Prices are ok but staff is not helpful

Atom Johnston

The WORST customer service we have ever experienced!!! We are finishing our basement and spending thousands of dollars there so you would think they would want to help but no. We applied for no payment for 36 months and they messed up and ended up with no payments for 6 months and 21% interest after. We will never deal with Rona again!

Darlene McCann

Always great to shop at Rona!

Nishan Perera

Rona opens at 7:00AM so I went at 7:15 to purchase some fence board, nails and screws. I entered through the contractors entrance and 3 employee's standing outside having a coffee said good morning but never followed me in to see if I needed help. Two of the employees work at the contractor desk because no one could be found and at that time I don't think they were on a break. I had to ask a cashier for help. Then in the isle for screws and nails, an employee was stocking shelves and never asked if I needed any help. I had to ask him. If the employee's don't start asking customer's if they need help, they won't have to stock the shelves. No one will go there to buy anything

Collin Beaumont

Good store. Good variety. Good staff.

I usually go to Home Depot or Lowe's just out of default because a few years ago I became disappointed with the slightly higher prices at Rona. Well... no more. I was drawn back into Rona by a scratch and win promo they had last weekend and was absolutely blown away. 1) Prices were lower than the other two stores across the board, and I compared a lot of things. I cringe to think of how much money I've wasted over the years at the other stores, especially since Rona is actually closer to my home! 2) I visited and bought stuff at Rona this past weekend from flooring, paint, plumbing, moulding, kitchen, fixtures, and used their cut shop. I needed help in every section ("how-to" advice... I'm not a pro). In every section the staff was friendly, AVAILABLE, extremely knowledgeable, and very helpful. It was an amazing difference between going to Lowe's, pushing that help button, and waiting for 10 minutes for no one to show up or someone who can't help who comes just to turn off the help alert. There's no question I'm a convert. Rona is my new default go-to hardware store. I highly recommend you give them a try. I bet they'll make you a believer too.

Great customer service Al from electrical helped me find everything that I needed for my project! Thank you!

Retro327

Had to get a new lawn mower. Lowes had the same model on sale and I was able to price match for the same price. I am really happy for this.

Dennis Allemang

I'm sorry but having an associate / dick tell my 9 month pregnant wife to move a huge box up to the cash registers by herself instead of helping her while I was busy looking for a cart that she was told by the same dick the carts are all outside, the store manager needs to start finding his balls to put his workers back into customer satisfaction mode, the employees are f*!¥ed in this place

Landon Schmidt

Ive spent alot of money at Rona of the last few years but lately ive found myself going to Home Depot instead. The selection isnt great and the staff (with some exceptions) isn't helpful. I wanted to order all my basement windows from rona but after waiting at the desk for 30 mins....i went to Depot

Joanna Gabara

Horrible customer service. I don't know about other Ronas but I went to this one a few times because is close to my work. They don't have good paint selection. We bought a water pressure washer and it came without the hose! We went back again a couple of days ago to buy one of the lamps in display and could not find it, asked for help and they paged someone to help us. We waited so long and no one came! Decided enough is enough, won't buy there no matter what. Drove to Lowes and bought an even more expensive lamp there. Rona is not getting any more of my money, no matter how close they are!

As a contractor of 25 years, I feel it is safe to say that this location is by far the best as far as contractor sales go. They are friendly, professional and always go the extra mile for their clients. I work all across this country and deal with a large number of suppliers but this Rona location is truly the best of them all.

Ron Morgan

Good sized Rona with a large selection, nice garden centre too.

John Macinnis

Nice place to shop for you home need good prices

Nghia Nguyen

Never enough cashiers or help... currently standing in line with 12 other people writing this review. If it weren't next door, I'd be at home depot right now. *** UPDATE *** They got bought out by Lowes! Hurray!

Pat O'Brien

I had bery good experience. I got help without asking for it. Good visit

Lynn Curran

Tried calling this location multiple times, could never get any one to answer the phone.

Sharron Horne

good prices and helpful staff ; been going there for 5 years

Laurent Godbout

TERRIBLE service, ACTUALLY NO SERVICE stood in line at the contractors desk and a person known to the staff walked up and got severed before me. Chatting and carrying on obviously known each other. Then Zack asked if I was being helped I said no one is helping me. He then said "actually we are close here now" I could not believe it Lots of other stores within driving distance Hopefully Lowes will change things
