I really wish this place was better because I really want to support local. Unfortunately in the last 20 or so times I've come here they never have what I'm looking for. Some items they haven't had in stock includes(before any pandemic shortage) 3" deck screws, plywood, any sort of insulation, tubes of caulk, standard home light switches, 5" sanding discs or any 120.grit sand paper. I understand stock shortages are going to happen once in a while but every time I've tried to buy 3 or more items here there has been at least one thing not in stock. If I always need to go to Lowe's to complete my shipping list I might as well just go there for all my shopping.

Great service even in lockdown, called for an order, had it ready in 20 mins for pick up, went to home Depot, waited 2 days for confirmation of my order and nearly an hour in the car park waiting for them to bring my order out, I have nothing but great things to say about Cambridge home hardware ????

Del in the lighting/kitchen/bath showroom was the best salesperson I've ever dealt with. She answered all of my questions and offered advice and recommendations on a bathroom remodel, even going as far as to show me several products I wouldn't normally associate with Home Hardware (since it was modern and urban), that they could order. She also went over custom options. A great experience!

Home hardware is one of the few home improvement stores where the employees actually know what they're talking about. If you go in and ask about lumber, the lumber guy knows what you're after, same goes for every department of the store. Shop at Lowe's and home depot as little as you can support the guys that care about what you're doing.

Absolutely horrific discrimination from the staff at this location! You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I typically go to home hardware over any hardware store, this time it was for some more Yeti’s to add to my ridiculous collection. However your staff, out loud, made sure everyone in the store was sure to know I was to be watched in fear of theft. I assure you it would have never happened with my law background. But I can also ensure you I’ll never set foot in your store again. Or anyone I know. I happily took my business elsewhere

Worst home hardware ever. Went to pick up an online order after receiving pick up ready email. They closed the entrance gate 25 minute prior to closing time. Store personnel and store manager were rude and didn't allow me after several requests, knowing I just wanted a single item ready for pick up. Now it is closed Sunday. Hence my planned weekend work is in jeopardy. Never going to shop again in this worst store.

During the PANDEMIC you would think that staff would know what they re doing, customers lined up to pay, and STAFF cuts through the customers instead of going around, no social distancing. Staff not wearing masks. Customers need to sanitize before going into store. Have to agree with the comments full of product you don't want or need. Dark and dingy inside. Staff not overly helpful. Went in specifically to pick up a product, the staff said they would call when they finished unpacking the truck, the next day I went in and they said the product was not there? And they never called! Poor customer service.

This place is a hidden GEM! We bought a house in Cambridge a few months back and have to do a lot of renovation. I had been going to the Home Depot, Lowes area due to proximity but had to go here for a door that the big guys didn't carry. I now travel 3 times as far to come here because the service and selection are worth it. These people go above and beyond every single time! Homeowners helping Homeowners indeed :)

The most frustrating place to deal with! No accountability, no responsibility, don't bother calling, because you'll just get tossed around from "department" to "department" all pleasant, not a single rude person, BUT all clueless... I love to support local and Canadian businesses, but unfortunately places like Nykamp Home Hardware, make me want to shop at Home Depot. It's been 3 weeks since I placed my online order, no follow up, no apologies, no one has a clue where my stuff is. It's worse than ordering from WISH, didn't think that was possible. Can someone from management contact me, please.

Just got home after going to my local (down the street) home hardware to avoid the drive across town. My goal was to pick-up 4, 2x4x8' studs and 1, 4x8x5/8 sheet of plywood. Upon going to the service desk, the fellow went twice outside to find stock, upon collaborating with other employees they thought they had found the plywood, I paid went around and was then informed that there was no plywood to be found. At this time I went back inside to which it took 3 individuals to complete my refund. A total waste of time 30+ minutes for a sheet of plywood that can be selected by yourself at any other lumber location which provides more selection. I think next time I will sacrifice the extra 5 minute drive to save money ($7.25 on the above material), and my personal time.

Recently, we placed a curb side order. We had to phone it in because the on-line order system would work for this store. Unfortunately more frustration followed. There is a hand painted sign with a phone number to call. That leads you nowhere. Then there is little parking where they chose to complete transactions. Then the staff is inept at completing the transaction.

Had to pickup a couple sheets of drywall and some two by fours at this store it is very close by. The staff are ever so helpful and they loaded the drywall plus the lumber. Really impressed as the guys Evan checked the lumber for being straight and true. This is my favourite home hardware and love to stroll through it as their displays are the best. And today was 10 percent off for us good seniors, a real bonus.

Went to home hardware today to purchase a bath tub. I hadp a flood in my house due to a cracked tub. Wow I usually love this store. I approached a male in the kitchen section who was less than enthused. Could not even get up to help me. When I asked if the store has plumbers he could refer me to I got a chuckle and said their weeks behind. As for delivery I don't even recall his less than enthusiastic answer. A male in the lighting section provided with a plumbers number while he was eating his lunch. Is there no lunch room. So in the end nobody could be bothered to help and I walked out without ordering a tub which would have also included taps etc. Home depot here I come.

If you need assistance and want to talk to someone about your project, come here. Unlike the bigger hardware stores, Nykamps actually has staff that 1) are around to assist you, and 2) are knowledgeable to assist you. There are always willing to get online and look for stock at others stores and special orders. Very knowledge, friendly staff. Good place to come and shop instead of big chain box store.

Their prices aren't the best, on the higher side when compared to competition. Also product selection and customer service is not as great as other bigger stores like HD, Rona and Lowe's.

As much as I'd like to rate the Cambridge Home Hardware higher up, something always goes wrong with my shopping here. I like going to this store because it is smaller than a Home Depot or Lowes, and it is easier to ask someone for advice/help. In practice, however, getting the right person can take forever (at least in my case), and on occasion I have found the "expert" advice to be somewhat lacking. Also, during each of my last 3 visits the checkout time has been ridiculously long. For each instance, only 1 check-out counter was open and someone in the front always ended up having an issue, leaving me standing in the queue for a really long time. I'd think in such instances HH can do better so that other customers, such as myself, are not inconvenienced excessively.

Went to Cambridge Home Hardware looking for kitchen cabinets to start a long anticipated renovation. We met Dan and were impressed with his knowledge and confidence in the Woodcrest cabinets. We ordered cabinets and gave a 50% deposit on May 4th with a time line of 9 weeks for our cabinet delivery, 25% restocking fee to cancel the order. With cabinets ordered we went ahead and started our kitchen reno with a 9 week timeline. 3 weeks later, and our kitchen looking like the posted picture I am told our cabinets have been delayed by 13 extra weeks, timeline for kitchen now 22 weeks. Cambridge Home Hardware cannot help with this as they claim "it is not their fault it is the supplier" so was given contact for Woodcrest Cabinets. Spoke with management at Woodcrest Cabinets "they took too many orders as everyone is doing home reno's during COVID this has backed them up" They are very sorry but they are not willing to help or give any type of compensation. Manager at Woodcrest told me my delivery date was Oct 12. My last contact with anyone was July 7. No one has followed up with me in that time frame so this week I emailed Cambridge Home Hardware to check on my order I am now back to an estimated delivery date of Oct 18-22. I am more than frustrated at both companies signed a contract with a 9 week delivery frame (verified by Dan the day before with his Woodcrest Rep) which is now still an ESTIMATED 24 week delivery. Someone at one of these companies should be doing something to help at this point. Cambridge Home Hardware has my deposit and I have nothing 17 weeks later and counting!

I bought two packs of nails from here. Each pack had printed 30pcs and sealed. When I opened up one pack it had only 19 pcs. I went back to the store and asked to customer service it has 19 pcs instead 30. They said we can't do anything, because pack is open. I told them you can count another pack, then they open the second pack to count. If they are not able to count it without opening the pack then I would I do that? Worse service at all.

Much more pleasant than a big box hardware store to visit. There are always staff close by to help you. They offer much better assistance then big hardware stores, much more personal. I enjoy shopping there. You have to watch out for pricing but because some of the prices are higher.
