This is the second year we have ordered from Big Yellow Bag. It’s a great service. Easy to order things online and then they follow up with a reminder the day before the delivery is going to come. And it gets placed exactly where I want it to. Other soil can be delivered for a little less money but as a family we can use the bag when we want to. There’s no reason to worry if the forecast calls for rain. Our bag remains dry and intact. And when I had a question they replied quickly. Great service.

You don't even have to be home for the delivery just mark a spot on your driveway and that's where the bags will be put. They could not provide a delivery time or date. The window was any time during a one week period. We would receive an email the day before delivery. They gave a us a last minute delivery notice. (4pm on Tuesday) We did not get email until 9pm at night because of our work schedule. We emailed stating we would not be ready given late notice. When asked to have the delivery made at later date, (within the one week time frame they gave) they said I would have to cancel the order and be put back in the system. I find it odd that we can wait up to a week for delivery but they could not wait one day to deliver. They can make you wait but do not make them wait. Poor service and Poor communication. I will never order from them again.

After almost 60 years of 'yardscaping in different areas, I've finally found the best soil for top dressing, new hole dressing & potting up plants to move. It's soft, fluffy, very easy to work with & the plants I've top dressed or potted up just a couple of weeks ago are extremely happy. I'm just in mourning that it isn't yet delivered to the Thorndale area. Delivery was fast, very friendly & helpful. Also , delivery started really early - when experienced gardeners know they can get out there & start "working". A great all round soil !

I purchased the overseeding bundle; the soil was the right amount for my front lawn, but following the instructions of 1:40 ratio of seeds to soil, I found I had to purchase 2 extra bags of seeds; I also purchased more starter fertilizer. So the cost increased somewhat, but if I get a nice lawn out of it, I won't mind too much. It was delivered on the said date and onto the designated location. There was nothing missing. - so can't complaint about anything. Well done!

Easy to use and efficient ordering process, even during Covid-19 restrictions. 2. Prices were reasonable, especially for the convenience of having that much earth delivered to your doorstep. 3. Frequent reminders and check-ins as to when the delivery would happen were very useful. 4. The delivery was so smooth and quick, the delivery person was above and beyond courteous with the delivery, not wanting to damage our already damaged grass, haha. I wasn't worried about that at all, it's just the nature of our front lawn, and it was already destroyed anyway (hence the new dirt :) ) 5. The product itself is fabulous. We purchased the black earth product and it's working as expected. Very nice quality earth! Overall a great company, product, and at least one very nice driver. The day of delivery an email advising it was on route and another noting delivery had been made. I ordered the Natures Blend product and both bags were well mixed and there was no clumping whatsoever making it very easy to work with. Big Yellow Bag is easily the best topsoil you can buy. Well worth the price. I tried it last fall to top dress my lawn after dethatching and overseeding. Bought another bag this spring to fill in and repair lawn that was torn up with sidewalk replacement. I’ve used “topsoil” from stockpiled material at garden supply stores. It’s usually sandy and weed-filled and I hauled it myself in my pickup truck. That stuff doesn’t come close to Big Yellow Bag. And BYB delivers when and where you want it. No messy dirt pile and you return the bag when it’s empty. If you take your lawn or garden seriously, give it a try.

Just in case you needed to know this, I have compared the composted earth I bought in bags from Richie's Feed & Seed this spring, to the Big Yellow Bags of earth I have bought in previous years. The composted earth from Big Yellow Bag is by far superior and has more compost & far less weed seeds in it than the cheaper bags from Richie's do. The earth from Big Yellow Bag grows better vegetables (& a bigger crop) with a lot less weeds. So this fall I will have to remove all the earth from the 4 x 4 raised beds and spreading it over the grass in my front yard & just reseeding it with grass. All that work & money for nothing this year. Next spring I'll have to buy 2 more Big Yellow Bags and I'll refill my raised garden beds with the good stuff. So if you were buying the bags of earth, instead of The Big Yellow Bag, like I did this year, you may have noticed a lot of weeds growing & wondered about this. Save your money. Save your back. Buy Big Yellow Bag in the first place.

There are more weeds than there are grass in my sod. I can't believe after all the work we did to resurface our front yard, purchasing soil and sod from this company to level up our yard, that the weeds have just taken over. There's so many weeds, that if we pull them all, there's massive holes, sometimes feet in length. It's ridiculous. These species of weeds didn't even exist in this area until we laid down this soil. I will never recommend these people's products to anyone.
