This company is bad and will only hire people from Mexico giving Canadian citizen jobs away. I worked for them and was asked to return the next season to find my job given away to a person from Mexico. I have no squalls with people who come for work but it effected me when my professional career is in this sector. The company owns three homes and rents rooms out as well to these workers and pays them less then going good rates. I would not buy any products from here as the are not a Canadian business that is contributing to local economy interests.

I bought a new town home 3 years ago and Peter Hughes Landscaping were the ones hired by the home builder to do the landscaping work on the front yards. After one year, things started falling apart. They added way too many shrubs and small trees, which now looks like a jungle and unsightly looking down the sidewalk towards the other town homes. Every time it rained or lots of wind, wood chips and top soils disappeared and ran (a muddy mess) onto the sidewalks with nothing holding them back, concrete walkways sank into the ground with little soil to hold them and lots of cracking as a result. They added river rocks in their design feature but just spread them around over the uneven ground. It just looks like a pile of rocks! You'd never know by looking at it now that a professional landscaping company did this. Overall, an expensive mess for home owners to deal with. I wouldn't recommend them.

Wow - we've learnt the hard way - this company REALLY sucks - our condo complex hired them for snow removal and lawn care and the lack of professionalism from their staff is unbelievable. They lie and do sloppy work when they do show up - not to mention the mess they constantly leave behind - if there was a way to upload pix with reviews you'd see what I'm talking about - don't EVER use this company!!!!!

Don’t be mislead by this company’s reviews. AVOID THE HEADACHE!!! Worked for this company for the better part of the last 3 years and I would NEVER recommend their services to anyone. Quality of work has consistently gone downhill. Jobs often completed incorrectly, leading to settlement and water drainage issues. Big emphasis on just getting things done so owner Peter can invoice the customer. Also big emphasis on ignoring things you know are going to be an issue for the home owner. With hopes to avoid correcting the issues keeping his costs down. Only to fix those same issues once the home owner has complained enough. You’re better off with almost ANY OTHER landscaping company if you would like to receive any kind of quality work done to your home.

We had Peter Hughes Landscaping design our large, corner lot front yard and they did a beautiful job implementing an artistic design within our budget. Everyone was professional and worked hard to bring about a beautiful end result of two colours of rock, shrubs, grasses and boulders. Only reason for not giving five stars is that a couple of the shrubs were not in the best shape when they arrived.

These people are working in our community and have just made our entire community their personal parking lot, they leave their trucks and trailers all over the place blocking alleys and streets. My wife emailed the company only to get no reply from them regarding their gross disregard for the community members. At one point one of these geniuses even decided to park the skid steer in front of our garage door making it impossible to get out the man door. This company can't even bother to respond to customer inquiries I'm not sure how they're still open.

My wife and I used Peter Hughes Landscaping to do our poured cement patio and sod this summer. From the start we were impressed with their quick response to email inquiries and flexible availability to come discuss the job. We were given an approx. start date which was followed well even though it was raining lots and delaying other jobs they had. Once they started it was all done within two days. We were given detailed instructions to care for our new sod. Everything took and looks fantastic! Fantastic team, fantastic job! We recently had our front yard landscaped by Peter Hughes. Every member of their team was polite and genuinely nice to deal with. The job was completed on time and for the price quoted. We were kept in the loop by the project manager every step of the way, and the site was left immaculate every night throughout. The project manager was professional and knowledgeable, he answered all of our questions patiently and gave instructions for ongoing care. Our install was completed during a heat wave, and we were visited again to make sure the grass was doing well. I feel that that speaks to the level of service and pride in the work completed by the company. We are beyond pleased with our beautiful yard! We would highly recommend Peter Hughes to anyone looking for a landscaping company.

Very rude company without regard or respect. Called company to ask nicely not to use three snow blowers at 6:15 in the morning and they responded "we have the right to do whatever we want". Certainly will advise others of the inappropriate response and disrespect.

PH did a total revamp of our Sundance home's front & backyard a few years ago. They were excellent then. We have since moved and were thrilled to find out that PH is doing all the landscaping in our new neighbourhood (Yorkville, by Mattamy Homes). The service is still the same: EXCELLENT! Foreman "Danny" went above & beyond, asking if we needed anything, offering to move a large pile of rocks in front of our house. Then when he found out what we were doing with the rocks, he quickly completed the job for us (which he didn't have to do). Danny is super accommodating, helpful, and a great communicator. The crew he had working for him were positive and hard workers. Keep up the great work PH, and keep hiring great people like Danny.

Unprofessional and Incompetent. These people have destroyed our flower beds. They dug up hundreds of dollars of bushes in October to relocate them for some unknown reason. In the process they have basically killed them by cutting off almost the entire root system. They also are too incompetent to even put tarps down before digging things up and made a horrible muddy mess of the sidewalks and never bothered to clean it up. A real company would use tarps, clean things up when they leave, and not try to move perfectly health bushes with snow on the ground after the first hard frost. Many other landscapers out there that are far more knowledgeable and professional than these jokers.
