No customer service and very few staff around to ask any questions and none will approach you and ask if you need any help. Same thing in their Home Decor section, no customer service from staff. There’s a big selection of plants but they are very pricey; also very few tropical plants sold here. Many of the plants they sell are available at other places for a much lower price.

My girlfriend and I went here to buy some indoor plants. Staff were all super friendly and very knowledgeable on all the plant species. They would always approach us and ask if we had any questions about anything which was nice. Even if they didn't know something they would go out of their way to try and find an answer. I don't really have a reference to compare to other nurseries but they seemed to have a good variety of plants. When we went they were having an "up to 50% discount" at the till.

There was a line up when we got there. Waited for about 15 mins to get in. It was about 2pm. Best to probaby go early. Good deal would be the coconut hanging basket at $9.99 compared to $15 from Superstore Marine Drive Garden Centre. Got some succulents and cactuses.

Pretty amazing place with a cafe, extensive plants, shrubs, succulents, flowers, and trees for purchase along with a garden cafe with sandwiches, soups, and pastries along with designer clothes, creams, soaps, and clothing. I can't wait to see the winter display of trees and Christmas ornaments which will show up on Oct 6th.

Has some of the best selections of indoor and tropicals. Always good sales! If you buy a plant and a pot they pot it up for you, for free! In terms of accessibility it is moderately decent in a motorized chair! But I would go with an attendant or friend as many of the aisles have obstacles my friends had to move for me to get around. A couple aisles seemed too narrow and I didn't chance it. Some dips in the pavement and wet floors would likely make this more difficult/unpleasant for a manual chair. Staff were all very polite and helpful! I very much enjoy coming here on my better mobility days! (Bonus: the greenhouse always smells like a tropical rainforest and it's incredibly relaxing to sit in for a second or two!)

Great selection of quality plants and garden supplies, but prices are MUCH higher compared to other places. I live nearby and would love to shop here more frequently as the space is great for wandering around in but unfortunately due to the prices I would only buy from here if I can't find the same items elsewhere. 5 stars for window shopping and experience, 3 stars for actual shopping due to the prices, so giving an average of 4 stars.

Knowledgable staff who understably can get a bit overwhelmed during busy times. There are plenty of parking, huge selection of plants (depending on the season). It is less busy than the Lougheed Highway store. However Nelson Ave can be congested. My suggestion is avoid the parking lot and park on the west side of Nelson and egress the area by driving southwards towards Marine Way. That way you can avoid the 4 way stop at Marine Drive.

Excellent service at this garden store. I bought a plant that did not do well. They gave me advice to try to help save it and when that didn't work they replaced the plant at no cost. The second plant has been doing well for past year. Recommend them to anyone looking for a garden store. Will do business with them again

One of our favorite garden stores. Indoors has great decor, knick knacks for kitchens, patio furniture etc. Outdoors has good selection of plants, go during different seasons to get different stuff. Store does allow for some sort of points program my wife is into, can be redeemed at certain times, I think Thursdays, check with store clerks. Parking can be silly, go across the street into parking lot of necessary for more space.

This place is awesome! It is huge, with free parking, inside is spacious, clean and beautifully organized. The area for house decors is neat, the washroom is also clean. They offer workshops too. I approached 3 different staffs for questions, they were all friendly and helpful even though they were obviously busy. I found more than what I was hoping to buy. It was a relaxing experience just being in the store.

Went here to buy some plants and ask questions about plant related issues over the week, however I left here feeling upset. While at this particular store, I was directed to a male employee, named Conway, where I proceeded to ask several questions regarding the care of certain tropical plants. Conway answered the questions with one word and in a demeaning manner as if I was wasting his time. After further explaining my situation with the plants, he then spoke to me in a condescending tone with little intent to help, and made me felt I was a nuisance. I then went to shop around for a bit for the required supplies, but when I returned to Conway to ask several more questions, he shrugged his shoulders and gave me a blank stare. It got really awkward after that encounter where I decided to just leave the items and exited the store without any purchase. Never will I ever return to Garden Works.

The past week I've been to Garden Works 4 times. I first went to examine if they would be a good fit for my needs as I was going to be working on my yard and garden this past weekend. I was overwhelmed with selection, variety, and options. My second visit was with my husband to show him all my finds from the first visit and to make sure that what I was hoping to invest in was agreeable and workable. Third visit was with my best friend to pick up the first batch of plants for indoor and outdoor. From a lovely Japanese Maple tree to a Spider Plant, I have a lovely home and garden full of plants from Garden Works. What made the experience top notch was the carry out help we received. I have a back injury which made be hesitant to even try gardening. Having my friend and the staff at Garden Works help removed the barrier. I also appreciate the knowledgeable and great advice from the staff. I have two kitties and trying to suss out different plants that are safe for them indoors was a major concern as well. Very pleased to say that aside from one plant that will be hung outside down in the air far out of their reach, I have a good variety indoors that add color and greenery that won't kill either of my kitties. I highly advise going to Garden Works - they even have a cafe with a pretty good mocha!

Great flower shop, it's just great and awesome. The staff are very nice and friendly, and the place is big too. Near the dirt, it's a little bit soggy, so they should get to clean it up sometime. The prices for the things are high, but not too high that you see that what you're paying is 4,000$. Maybe around 50 or 70$. I want to give 4.5 stars, but you can't do that, so I just have to give it 4.

Wow, way more than plants! There were tonnes of knick knacks and decor as well as food prep and storage items. I bought a pair of earrings for a friend and some seeds for my veggie garden. Staff was knowledgeable about what seeds I should get for the amount of sunlight my yard gets.

Unfortunately not set up well for people with mobility issues. The handicapped parking spot closest to the entrance is blocked off, you have to walk through the necklaces and insense to get to the garden centre and there is nowhere to sit at all.

Mandeville's is a locally-owned garden Centre. They used to be owned by a local Burnaby family, but are now owned by the Garden Works group. They have a nice, little restaurant and gift shop besides all their gardening products.

I don’t know why I didn’t visit this place sooner. It’s a nice store that has crazy variety of plants, home decors, and friendly staff. I love the little cafe in the north side of the store. They close early, but they’ve got all day breakfast and good sandwiches. We were able to find decorative things and elegant pots and others that are hard to find in other places. It’s a huge store and fun to browse around.

Very disappointing. I used to love this store; I am an Ardent Gardener member and have been for many years, but I will not renew my membership. The elegant merchandise has been replaced by expensive kitsch and clothing, the once tasteful floral department has now boring or plain ugly displays, the friendly staff who used to tell me that they've enjoyed watching my kids grow over the years have been replaced with cold people who told me that the kids were a disturbance. The Cafe is not nearly as nice and welcoming as it used to be either. No wonder they've lost so many customers.

One of my favorite places to shop for plants. Their plants are generally well tended and reasonably priced. The staff are always super friendly, approachable and easily found. Just a tip if you're new to this place, sign up for their membership. It's $10 but you get a $10 coupon to use immediately.

My girlfriend told me she didn't want to keep getting flowers that would die after a couple of weeks, so I went to Gardenworks knowing one thing: I will get her a potted plant instead! Of course, it's not that simple, and having worked retail, I totally understand the frustrations of helping someone that had no idea what they wanted. But the staff there walked me through some things, taught me the basics and I walked out with a couple of cute plants that are still alive today!

This is a very well stocked plant nursery that also sells many products for the non-gardener. There is a little restaurant (counter service) that makes it a nice outing for a small group of friends. Lots of staff on hand to answer questions and help with merchandise. There is a fair sized parking lot but it does fill up on sunny weekends.

I used to shop at Mandeville Garden Centre a lot before moving. I stopped by recently and things have changed since Garden Works took over. The garden centre still has a decent selection but doesn't have the specialty plants it used to (though they might be able to special order them). The giftwares were nice but generic. No longer worth a special trip but still a good garden centre.

A favourite shopping experience for my entire family. My 11 year old son loves to look at the gnomes in the gift section and the cacti in the plants area. We often have lunch as a family in the cafe or just to meet up with friends for coffee. The staff are very knowledgable and the store stands behind everything it sells. This is a place that has a nice "homey" touch and provides a very personal experience. I've even enjoyed beginner workshops there in the past!

Well-stocked with plants that generally sell the most: annuals, popular perennials, shrubs, trees. What the average shoppers at place like this need and want. A great place for that. Good selections of shade-loving plants. No special or unusual plants. I went there today looking for an Asclepias (milk/butterfly weed). I could not find it - Hunter's in Surrey had it. Garden-related knickknacks are, nothing like Art Knapp's in South Surrey with a veritable mini mall. I am not interested in such. Average home owners will find this place most satisfactory. Not a place to get loads of soil, manure, mulch, rocks, pavers. There is a cafe or restaurant attached to this. I have never been there. Parking is quite adequate. During afternoon rush hours, getting in and out may become tiresome, now that the city has made the street a minor artery route.

No matter how nice the cafe is or how much of a selection they have, I can't ignore the fact that the only two tropical indoor plants I've ever brought home from this place were infested with MEALYBUGS. As they were the only plants that had them, and they were not in contact with any of my other houseplants, they could not have come from anywhere else. Both ended up in the city organics bin, and were a total waste of almost $50. Buy with caution, and DEFINITELY quarantine any plants you bring home from this nursery.

We just wanted to buy some strawberries and got there 20 min before the store closed ( appearantly at six not at 5.45 pm as stated on Google). The staff was really helpful; unfortunately the strawberries were already sold out (we were probably too late in the season). But we got some nice Wild Strawberries, Herbs and Tomatoes. Also bought some garden utensils. And at six, the staff gave us a very friendly reminder that the store would close now. Fair enough... Great shop, but don't go there if you have a weakness for buying gardening stuff and plants. You may end up buying way too much...

I bought a plant the other day and when I went on vacation my husband let it die, didn't water it at all. I came back to the store, told them about it, showed my receipt and they gave me store credit for it. Apparently that plant had warranty. I didn't expect such a nice thing. Worst customer service experience when trying to return a couple of items. I provided the original receipt but the staff unable to give a refund to the credit card because they require to have a credit card slip. I asked him to provide a refund in cash and he had to ask someone whether he can do that. After 10-15 minutes later, he came back and insisting to give a store credit instead of a cash refund. I never had an experience like this for a retailer. As other retailers would give a straight refund to my credit card, or at least in cash. How do I suppose to know to keep the credit card slip together with the original receipt since it was never stapled? I can understand if this is a mom and pop store, but this store seems like a properly run business. My suggestion is to train your staff properly as this type of return is pretty common, don't let your customers wait and only being told that they can't get their money back and given store credit instead. Also, similar to other retailers, have everything printed into one receipt rather than two, this is 2020. Since I have to use a store credit, I'm forced to shop to your store. However, that will be the last time I shop at your store. I will bring my business somewhere else.

Very helpful staff and good selection. If you’re needing help or looking to find something, chances are the staff know where to look/find it. Plenty of parking spaces available around the location. Lots of options for soil, fertilizer, plants, and all sorts of equipment and accessories. They have beautiful decor available, and lots of space within the aisles and in the building to walk and peruse. Plenty of carts and dollys to use for transporting heavy and/or large items. Really great establishment and well maintained. The staff maintaining the plants are all knowledgeable and prices seem comparable with other establishments. Highly recommended!

Spent over $200 here last year creating a beautiful patio garden, it was excellent until the aphids took over and killed EVERY last plant.. Visited the store with my hubby over the weekend trying to find a gift for mothers day and browsed through the plant section to see if anything had changed.. Several plants looked unhealthy and upon closed inspection we found aphids crawling on some plants and spider mites killing others. Don't waste your money at this place!

This store is way off the beaten track and worth the visit any day! It's an equal measure of all things garden and all things retail. You can revel in the lush abundance of green and growing flowering plants, shrubs, bushes, bright tropicals, and more, complete with expert gardening advice! And you can shop for lovely and unusual clothes, cards, wrapping paper, kitchen necessaries, gifts, soaps, lotions and potions. Really beautiful gift mugs for $25 - $30 and less. Even jewellery and ornaments. Then, if you're hungry from all that shopping, there's a little beauty of a restaurant, reasonably priced, that looks out on a small gem of a garden. You feel like you're eating outside but you're warm and cosy inside! Try the West Coast shrimp croissant. Plenty of shrimp and soft, fresh croissants. They also do the impossible-to-get beef dip. I'll try that next. It's a great place to go for lunch with a friend or without. The restaurant closes at 4 pm, and the store at 5 pm.

I have been a customer for over 25 yrs. The original store was fantastic! When Gardeneorks took over it lost the variety of plants but their quality was good. A My last visit I went specifically to get a bouquet made (as I have done many times). I was very disappointed to learn you can no longer go in the flower cooler and choose the flowers and the colours you would like in your bouquet and then have it beautifully arranged and wrapped. All the bouquets are made off site! They look like something you can pick up at any grocery store that sells flowers. Another loss of something that made Mandeville special. I wonder if one of the other stores on Marine Dr. will open a florist Dept.
