lady on the phone was very rude and wouldnt help me find mighty mites which it says they carry.....she said she didnt know what they are then i told her what they were and she said ohh no we dont have any in stock only in spring...so i asked her where they got them so i could try and she said she didnt know so i asked if theres anyone that does know and she hung up on me.....i will not be ever purchasing from here again....terrible service you should get a new lady to answer your phones.

I will not support this business because of how wrongly their employees are treated. And would like to point out that a handful of the positive reviews are posted by other employees who are right underneath the problematic management... I will stand behind my choice to tell every friend and family member the embarrassing story of how I was treated as a woman in this facility. I strongly urge others seeking employment to avoid employment here. They do not follow basic BC labour standards. I will continue to boycott this buisness and continue to spread the word. Hopefully it is a sad future for this company.

Overall, generally a great selection of plants, and knowledgeable staff. Their coleius and geranium selections are fantastic. However, the prices seem to have crept up, and i was dismayed when i went for my annual spring shop the other day. For example a 6" peace lily for $29.99 is very steep. Usually, i come out with a cart full of plants for my budget. This time, i barely managed half.

The gardens are great with great staff, but the online store is not managed well. Over a week since I ordered and paid. No communication. Have called several times and they are too busy to answer. No response to email request. Will be reporting this to BBB very soon. DON’T USE THE ONLINE STORE. A follow up to this review. Once I managed to speak to somebody they quickly resolved it. A bit of a hiccup with their new online store. As the original review stated - their staff is excellent. Just a bit overwhelmed.

The photos speak for themselves, my goodness!! This place is a living wonderland for people into all things horticultural, landscaping and gardening related. I should have took photos of the rest of the place to show off their HUGE selection and MASSIVE greenhouse! As a former landscaper I really appreciated how healthy most all of the plant-life was. These people are pros who care about the quality of their products, for sure. ???? A thought that hit me while strolling through the vibrant energy generated and then amplified by the MASS of LIFE in there, was that this is like going to a zoo for plant people!!! LOTS of gravel-parking for the many people that were there at that time (which adds to the overall energy level and sense of abundant LIFE ????????????). Gardening IS in the top 10 for world's most popular hobbies! Great place to take a date y'all! ???? Then up to Sushi Sen for an early dinner, followed by the divine sunset over at Blackie Spit Park! This is actually about a 3.5 star review, but I'm pretty happy to be pushed downward. The lost stars are purely for customer service reasons when a curbside pickup order was incorrect. This was my second time ordering from West Coast Gardens - I've been working on my plantmom status, and when I found out that I could support a local business with a great online presence and curbside pickup I was thrilled. My second order was for 3 small spider plants, among other things. The order was placed directly in the back of the car, and we headed out. It wasn't until we got home later that afternoon (not a short drive), that I noticed that I only had one spider plant baby. I emailed the Customer Service and was given 2 options: accept a refund and lose my desired plants or drive back for what was, nevertheless, a small monetary value of plants (the gas would have probably cost more). I asked if there were other options - credit for 2 spider plants, for example, and was offered no in-between option. When a store makes an error, I expect them to go beyond to fix that error, and while the experience here was perfectly pleasant, I lost out on two plants I wanted (they were on sale so I'm not likely to be able to recover them under the same circumstances). A sidenote: They don't send confirmation emails when pickup orders are ready, but I did get a slightly passive aggressive note that my order had been ready for several days. Overall, I will shop here again, but it's not destined to become a favourite/must shop store for the moment (and I'll be double-checking curbside orders on-site).

I walked in today with my 3 kids to help find a gift for my grandmother's 87th birthday and before we can even get to the flower section, a young man asked us if we can stand where we were and not move. He said that they were only allowing groups of 2 in the store, which is reasonable. PROBLEM was that, there were people going in and out in groups of 3-4 or more. The last customer even said hi to all of us and they were a group of 4 and they were leaving in a mini van. Some were alone but there were a few who were in a group. I was then asked to leave without any warning or anything like that. I look around and more people were going in. I was VERY disappointed as this has been my go to place for buying my indoor plants. Unfortunately today, the young gentleman took one look and had us exit because i had the kids. Instead of OFFERING to maybe grab something for me in the store or just give me options to choose from outside, he just said you guys are a big group and have to leave. my kids are all under 8 and this store is a BIG OUTDOOR STORE. We were all wearing masks and taking precautions. I will never leave my kids in the car just to grab something in the store. I understand you guys have a policy, but this young man singled us out completely. It felt like we were being discriminated and I am unhappy with the service that we received today. Legit saw people going in right as he asked us to leave and didn't say anything to them. Very disappointing.

I was offered an orchid to be delivered on my Birthday (ordered and paid days ahead). It arrived 3 days later after sitting in a cold truck for days. It was not in great shape anymore. Moreover, orchids should be planted in a pot that allows irrigation. It was an extremely frustrating experience for who ordered it for me, as their whole point was for it to be delivered on time! West Coast Gardens customer service was not good with them either. We will not go back.

They had a good selection of tropical plants for a fair price (this section was in the back of the nursery) and I loved the cute plant + pot set up they had all over the place! I'm so happy this place is open, as a lot of nurseries and plant shops are closing for the winter. Update: their online ordering system was not very organized (although they were nice and tried to help). My order took almost a week to prepare, and when I emailed and called, there was no answer. When I finally got to pick it up, they had only half the order correct/ready :(

Wow this place really is fantastic. My mother has been bragging about it for years and now I understand why. If you're looking for a high end Garden Centre with a big selection it cant get cant any better than West Coast Gardens. When I went in my first impression was that the selection and inventory was massive! And as a previous greenhouse operator myself I can say all of the plants are extremely healthy and lush. Ive been planning to purchase a couple unique but large hanging baskets for my new patio and I wanted something that would really make it pop. They had everything I could have possibly imagined and more. I really liked how the staff were so attentive and knowledgeable about all aspects of what I was looking for. Seriously...this is a dutch grower operation at their best. These guys really have it nailed. Oh yeah...Good job also on YouTube video It really helped!

Nice stuff but they lack variety. I was there for dahlias and tuberous begonias and they didn't have a good selection. Some of the tubers were mushy and should have been tossed out. They were left outside in the plastic bags and are rotting. Prices were quite high for most items.

Each year I order my moss hanging baskets from West Coast Gardens and I typically pick them up, including last year at the outset of COVID. This year I decided to have them delivered - not because of COVID - but because I wanted to try out West Coast's delivery system. I have been so impressed!! The entire process was smooth beginning with a telephone call outlining the process, followed by an email which contained one of the best and easiest tracking systems I have ever used complete with an ETA of delivery time that changes in real time. Very impressed. I hope West Coast continues this service.

I like that they carry say...petunias. ..but some different ones from...say...superstore. I like the way they are setup and the 2ay the perennials are displayed. Most greenhouses have something unique about how the do things...different things the carry...and this one is a fit for me and any friends I have introduced to the greenhouse. It also has a nice indoor are with wonderful living plant displays...as well as more plants...pots...boutique type things here and there, and of course the tools and fertilizers...etc. I love the wholesale nursery I go to...but love this green house ...it is a favorite for me...over many other centers. 4.5 in my book. Staff has always been helpful...but sometimes they newer staff. When not iverwhelmed...they go the extra mile.

Love this place for all seasons! They put on a beautiful Christmas display. I like to bring the kids along to their Poinsettia premiere and take pictures amongst the beautiful sea of poinsettias. They take great care of their plants and they always look much healthier than anywhere else. It is always a great outing for the family especially now that they have a super cute coffee shop out front that has my favorite Republica local coffee!! And the staff is so friendly and always ready to give advice/help! ????????

I love this place. The displays are beautiful, the staff are really nice, and Branches should not be missed. In 2018 I am going to take some of their classes and sign the kids up as well. If the rain is getting you down, stop in and grab a delicious hot beverage and wander around. You'll feel better. A wonderful family business.

Extremely disappointed. I have been a long time customer. I spent lots of time today picking out a hanging basket (amongst many other items). When I reached the cash-out desk they told me my basket had been priced incorrectly. Instead of the basket being $99.00 it should’ve been priced at $149.99. Did not honour stickered price for their mistake. Will not be shopping there again.

Really full of green plants! Has wide selection of annual and perennial plants. There's also some flowers as well and a lot of pots and gardening tools to choose from.

It was great! It's super cute inside, so many nice indoor and outdoor plants, lots of decorative options for pots and home decor ideas. Friendly staff and good prices. Got quite a few tropical plants and I'm super happy with them. I'll definitely coming back for all my plant needs

This is such a beautiful gem, with excellent Covid protocols in place which allow you to shop the rows of gorgeous, healthy plants and decor safely and in a comfortable manner. Selection is great and staff is friendly and helpful!

Edit: I wish I could keep the 5 star review originally given but I just can't. During their last sale they had products in the sale area that weren't suppose to be there, I understand if its one but multiples of the same product with the sign right above it is super misleading. The staff couldn't care less at honouring it considering we were regulars there, and while I really wish I could go back and continue shopping with them, I just can't. I've talked to my family members about it too and they agree the right thing to do would have been to honour the sale price (we're talking less than $8, but principle is principle). Luckily I've found a couple of other nurseries in the area for future shopping which I've been super happy with. Original: The amount of love I have from this store is huge. We recently moved into the area and are so happy we stumbled on West Coast Gardens. Their arrangements are beautiful, their selection is massive, and their indoor area makes my heart happy. I have never once walked out of here without purchasing something.
